Reviews for Hacienda San Miguel
Review 1:If you are looking for a hacienda - i.e. out in the country - then this is a great location (logical position for Chichen Itza, Valladolid, and the not-to-be-missed church at Uayma). House and setting are idyllic and wonderfully atmospheric; lovely pool and hammock-opportunity. Mario gives a super-friendly welcome at reception (he is the sole English-speaker). Bedrooms are fairly simple (e.g. no TV - why would you come to a hacienda to watch TV?) and very clean. No sign at all in late 2015 of the sorts of problems mentioned in reviews from 2014. We were one of only two families so the kitchen was not in full swing and food service a little slow - but the chef was hugely diligent in looking after us. There is no WIFI (as far as we could tell) - again, in the hacienda context this wasn't a problem for us - not sure if it could be added in future.
Review 2:The Hacienda is currently in re-modelation. The bungalows were in good shape as was the pool and according to expectation. But the main building of the Hacienda was not accessible and covered by dust. The restaurant was closed so no dinner or breakfast available. We would have been better off taking a room in a "normal" hotel. The bad thing is that we were not warned before of the conditions of the Hacienda. So a bad deal!
Review 3:We felt a little lonely and we had the impression that we were the only guests since quite a while. There is no meal option and no WLAN. Only the furniture at the pool area looks a little bit used. It is a shame, is there not more business and not more guests because the facilities is all there. It is a little bit outside of Valladolid.
Review 4:This would actually be a nice vacation location with rooms and bungalows. Everything is in a good condition. Room was nice and clean. Pool is clean and there is a spacious garden with walkways.
Review 5:There is no meal option at the site. The stay is a bit expensive.
Review 6:The manager was very nice, friendly, and spoke excellent English. The room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed the walk around Hacienda's garden and surrounding "jungle". The place has a pool.
Review 7:This is being advertised as 4*. I find this had to believe and investigation shows a number variations with a number stating it to be 3*. I would say this is still high as it has no restaurant or bar and does not even provide you with complimentary water which we received daily at our other 4 stays even including one which has no stars and gave two bottles a day. If you want this basic facility you will need to do a 20 minute round trip to the nearest town. There is still one UK website advertising this accommodation as three stars and also states that there is a bar/restaurant and can have breakfast non of which are available. I no longer know what is correct and think that this may once have been a great place to stay and is still trading on an old 4* rating.
Review 8:The only saving grace for this accommodation is that it still has a working swimming pool. The manager advising us of a restaurant where we could get a meal inthe centre of town. This was one of the best meals of our whole trip and found out that a stay at this place would have cost us no more with all the facilities that this establishment does not provide.
Review 9:Would like a coffee set-up in the room.
Review 10:Secluded, very green, lots of birds. Comfortable, very large cottage. Beautiful grounds for strolling. Ulysses was very helpful and charming. Will be going back to a great place to unwind!
