Reviews for Kasbah Dar Daif

Review 1:It has been my second time in Kasbah Dar Daif and it was wonderful as the first time. Breakfast excellent, very nice room, spectacular landscape and people very kind.

Review 2:Location is a bit far out of town.

Review 3:Room was cozy, and food excellent. We had a lovely time. Especially awesome was the library - though most of it was in French, we found a great book about kasbahs, many of which we had just visited, was great to have that resource.

Review 4:The room was a bit small for the price

Review 5:Best typical Berber food we had in Morocco I recommend the 3 courses gastronomic dinner which was perfectly cooked in the Cosy Kasbah Super friendly staff and warm welcoming

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:Wonderful location Amazing breakfast on the terrace Courtesy of all the staff and in particular of the owner Jeanpierre with his detailed and very useful information It looks like an ancient fortress on the desert root

Review 8:We thought the dinner was a bit overpriced.

Review 9:Comfortable, atmospheric with a traditional touch. The owner is a very kind, helpful and nice guy. We loved the hamam and massage.

Review 10:non

Review 11:we stayed there in dec this place is lovely its clean, nice and food is good ,if you have time try the sunna ! i'd like to say thank you to jean peirre for the map and date jam he gave us, the staff was helpful too. i will definitely stay again

Review 12:The poor lighting in the room at night.

Review 13:Aspect of this hotel. Lots of charm and intimacy, despite its size (this is the biggest hotel we had in Morocco). Kindness of the staff. Great dinner - worth having dinner there!

Review 14:Its a little bit far from the center of ouarzazate, so you have to take a bus (leaves tou right in front of the Riad) or a grand taxi (little bit expensive) to go to the Riad. The Riad picked US up at the bus station the first time we arrived though.

Review 15:Beautiful place, the staff is great, very nice breakfest and perfect WiFi. They can also organize tours for the places around ouarzazate.

Review 16:It could be difficult to find, but by using the coordinates in our navigation system, we drove straight to the front door.

Review 17:This accommodation makes you feel like you stepped right into a fairy tale with the wonderfully restored kasbah, the lovely staff, excellent food and available facilities. It's only a short drive from Ouarzazate which is totally worth it, and it makes you feel like you never want to stay in another hotel again. It served as a great base to visit Ouarzazate and surrounding sites (like the Fint oasis and Ait Benhaddou).

Review 18:Amazing, the owner was fabulous. Jean-Pierre sat and discussed travel route with me and made recommendations for a variety of things! We will be back. We have stayed in a lot of hotels throughout Morocco and this was hands down one of the best experiences! Food was amazing and they were great with our young kids.

Review 19:Wonderful staff, especially Sara and the lead waiter. Upgraded. Birthday noticed and candles were kindly put on my dessert :). Utterly beautiful space with amazing views.

Review 20:The choice of food was a bit poor. The days in advance ordered menu partially absent. The staff could be more friendly and courteous.

Review 21:Very nice Kasbah hotel with great attention to detail. The host was very friendly and accommodating and helped us with respect. Landmarks in the region. The food was local and very good. Otherwise everything was in order and as described on the homepage clean and tidy: parking, internet, pool, rooms, total hotel.

Review 22:In our case, we are not heavy eater.. nice full breakfast was too much, feel so sorry for lots of left over and kitchen works. Crew can ask to the guest for breakfast full or medium or so.

Review 23:Almost Parador or Pousada style, very beautiful typical Moroccan house and location. Crew were really helpful and warm-heart kindness, we happily decided one more night staying. We felt we're very lucky people because could find out this Kasbah.

Review 24:Nothing!

Review 25:Beautiful building, in a pretty location overlooking the lake. We loved how they organised for you to have your own private areas for meals which made it very romantic! They also upgraded us to a suite which was stunning - we even had our own little terrace. The staff were lovely and the food was plentiful and delicious.

Review 26:We had the room at the top of the kasbah which was unfortunately very dark. Air conditioning in half the room and one main light not working. But the worst thing was the view from the room. It was just a view of a dusty wall with a big grill on the window. Unfortunately this felt very claustrophobic and a bit like being in prison. In addition, when we got to out car the windscreen had a big crack on it. We now need to replace our car windscreen making this a very expensive stay. I therefore would advise against parking outside the property, despite their being a parking attendant. It's a narrow road with lots of passing vehicles.

Review 27:The staff are nice and the food is good

Review 28:Uninspiring surroundings, not at walking distance from anything, you need a car

Review 29:Great advice for travel options Great care with details, excellent welcome tea and biscuits and goodbye gift, and of course a great breakfast Best hotel staff in my travel in Marocco

Review 30:Everything was perfect after a long drive over the Atlas.

Review 31:Fabulous riad situated off the beaten track, with various terraces with views over the mountains and the Lake. Great pool, beautiful bedrooms, outstanding cuisine with a strolling minstrel playing traditional Moroccan music. Hospitality second to none from all the staff and especially le patron Jean Pierre. They even washed our car for us.

Review 32:One minor inconvenience was that the air conditioning unit in our son's room did not work despite calling out an engineer who was unable to resolve the issue, we only stayed one night so it was something we could live with.

Review 33:This littel haven locked away on the outskirts of Ouzazarte is more than it looks from the outside. You walk through the main wooden door into an oasis of rooms, colours and foliage. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, the pool was refreshing, the rooms were exotic and comfortable, the food was sublime and we were given some locally made date jam on our departure. You can also use their hammam (and there are massages available to women customers only - but book in advance).

Review 34:We loved the attention to detail. The place is run as if it were a 5 star hotel. Really excellent! We loved the place albeit it is slightly out of town. We highly recommend staying there. We will be back.

Review 35:The Kasbah is not very close to the city center and I would not recommended walking towards it, so a car is needed to visit Ouarzazate.

Review 36:Staff was super friendly, Kasbah looks great and there lot's of opportunities to take trips in the neighborhood.

Review 37:Very wonderful location. It was a very big pleasure to meet all the staff of this Riad. Accomodation and big ospitality of a fantastic Berber Family in a wonderful Berber Riad . We will come back asap

Review 38:The indoor public spaces felt like storage space for random things, and the rooms were very cramped. Also, the staff was not particularly helpful when trying to organize day trips, nor were they very welcoming upon our arrival.

Review 39:Both breakfast and dinner were great, and the views from the terrace (both public and private) were gorgeous.

Review 40:Location is in the outskirts, nothing much to do or see.

Review 41:We got an absolutely great 2-room suite, with lovely private balcony, with breakfast and dinner directly in front of our door. Very cosy and traditional furbished.

Review 42:we were really dissapointed about that house, the feedback are better than the house looks like much too expensive, you pay only for the view of the house, dinner is also very expensive, no relaxing chairs

Review 43:nice house with nice flowers, many small balconies, big breakfast

Review 44:This was our favorite place to stay in Morocco. The owner took the time to chat with us when we were leaving to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had proper directions to visit Ait Ben Haddou. He even gifted us with homemade fig jam to take home to NYC. The rooms were lovely. Excellent value!! Breakfast was wholesome, and everything was like a fairytale. We hope to go back soon!

Review 45:The wifi was hit and miss and in common with most riads there was no alcohol to buy but they had no objections to bringing your own.

Review 46:The riad was beuatiful with flowers and trees, and lovely balconies overlooking the river and the city. The rooms were well appointed in traditional style. The dining rooms inside wound through the building or you could eat overlooking the view. There was a nice pool.

Review 47:Gorgeous building, lots of comfortably and beautifully furnished nooks and crannies, both under cover and on terraces, where one can sit, relax and eat ones meals. Fabulous discrete service. Delicious food. Great hospitality. Very good value for money. We had to tear ourselves away!

Review 48:The stuff was very nice and friendly but sometimes a little bit superficial. We had some special wishes for breakfast which we told to the stuff (when we were asked for) but in the morning everybody forgot our order.

Review 49:Great ambience, especially beautiful patio, the whole service has a great and tateful concept.

Review 50:The kasbah is a bit out of the way.... 30 minute walk outside the main area of town.

Review 51:The staff and property were excellent! Beautiful, clean rooms and fantastic terraces to enjoy breakfast and tea.

Review 52:The hammam wasn't included in the room price, which wasn't clear prior to arrival.

Review 53:We really felt like royalty at Dar Daif. Athough it isn't directly in Ouarzazate, that shouldn't be a deterrent. The terrace views are simply amazing with a look to the Atlas mountains. The terrace is also positioned to watch both sunrises and sunsets. The staff here is really wonderful and we were provided with tea and exceptional cookies when we arrived. Compared to some of our other hotels in Morocco, the bathroom felt like a spa.

Review 54:- maybe some not sweet things for breakfast like an egg of some cheese ( now it was all sweet). But we didn't ask for it. -There was a lot of food, much more then we could eat, so i don't hope they throw the rest away.

Review 55:-The atmosfere -The personel was very helpfull -The small things, like every day a bottle of water, the Washing of our car -The traveltips, like the daytrips and the advice how to drive the quickest way along/through marrakech, etc, etc.

Review 56:The riad is marked the last 2 km, but hard to find from the city. The air conditioning units were switched off, the next day we heard how to turn them on.

Review 57:A typical Moroccan decoration with lots of carpets. We had a good room, an upgrade in a suite. Nice garden where you can eat well. Not cheap, but worth it. A quiet location with views of palm trees and the city. The travel advice from the owner for the visit of sights along the way to our next destination, we have greatly appreciated.

Review 58:The location is slightly sketchy on a street at the edge of town. Not a problem for travellers with car.

Review 59:Beautifully decorated mansion with gorgeous terrace views of the plane and town. Carpets everywhere and bookcases filled with books of all languages. The French owner is of utmost help and hospitality. Water is provided upon arrival as well as tea. Fresh oranges in the room and great AC. The pool is refreshing. Upon departure the owner gives you detailed maps of how to get to your next location and walks you through local hotspots to see on your way. Water is also provided upon departure. The service is absolutely excellent and up to par with the beautiful interiors of this villa-like kasbah. No shoe policy inside, as the floors are covered in different authentic carpets. The view of the palmeraie from the terrace cannot be beat. Definitely recommend this place, notably if you have a car as the road off the Main Street is approx 3km. There are staff on rotation 24 hours to watch your car so you feel very safe and taken care off.

Review 60:The place is not that easy to find. You must follow the direction to zagora and turn left after the villa hotel

Review 61:The kasbah is really beautiful and amazing. The owner of the Dar Daif is french and has been living in Morocco for 37 years! He was so kind to us:he gave us maps and detailed directions for our next destinations. He suggested us the best places to visit nearby ouarzazate and he also gave us precise instructions on how to get there. Plus we had dinner at the Dar Daif for 3 nights and I really suggest you to try it. The food is amazing, cooked in the best traditional Moroccan way. When we arrived they also upgraded our room for free.

Review 62:Somehow gloomy atmosphere . Bad food.

Review 63:very nice place, smells good, everything clean, great breakfast

Review 64:The bed was very hard, like sleeping on the floor

Review 65:Service was excellent

Review 66:Very welcoming riad. Felt really like home. The dinner was very delicious.

Review 67:The best hotel we have ever stayed in, words can not explain how lovely this place is.

Review 68:The girls at the hall were very kind and nice. The room was awesome, with incredible aromatic shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast was amazing.

Review 69:Very friendly team, wonderful hotel with many terrace and roof deck with a nice view to the landscape, tasty dinner and breakfast

Review 70:Authentic renovation of a beautiful kasbah, all details are perfect. Very helpful staff. Very quiet atmosphere. Free upgrade to wonderful appartment.

Review 71:food and helpful staff, beautiful room and hotel.

Review 72:Many little things that make this Kasbah so special

Review 73:We enjoyed the beautiful sunset right above the Atlas mountains, the friendly staff and delicious food. Thanks again for the stay :)

Review 74:Really need car to get there

Review 75:Beautiful rooms and courtyard Great breakfast Peaceful

Review 76:the rooms are a bit dark

Review 77:the staff and the owner are super helpful - food is of good quality - the hammam is traditional

Review 78:Staff. Hammam. Food. Our car was cleaned.

Review 79:the city

Review 80:the place you don't want to go out from, as you have everyrhing a traveller needs inside. ... with a superhelpful owner.

Review 81:Location not great, off the beaten track, very bad road to the kasbah.

Review 82:Great food, authentic surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, tranquil.

Review 83:Attention of the owner for his guests

Review 84:You are a long way from town.

Review 85:The staff were excellent. Each and every one of them took pride in their work.

Review 86:The hotel is located in a small village near Ouarzazate. The riad is beautiful inside and the room we were assigned was practically new. The food at the hotel was delicious and everyone was very helpful.

Review 87:The situation is a bit inconvenient if you want to be in the centre of Ouarzazate. But for us, we really enjoyed walking across the oasis to get to the town and the peace and tranquility in the afternoon having tea and biscuits on the terrace looking over the palmeriai. The hamam on the first day was a good way to relax, and we decided to eat at the hotel which was more than our limited budget, but we didn't regret it as the food was delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. I loved this place.

Review 88:However, I felt claustrophobic, it was a Warren of rooms with little sunlight. It seemed heavily decorated and stifling. There was a pool but nowhere to relax by it. If you have no car, you are pretty much stuck there and they find calling a taxi difficult and their taxi was the most expensive in Morocco, however the driver was very happy with madam's arrangement. Finally, my last moan, the menu is €22 per head and there is no alternative as you are stuck there. For my final, final moan, we went out to explore the ruin next door and heard a disturbing crying and went to look. There we found a cat with it's head bludgeoned and weighted down by a large rock which had been left to die. I appreciate this was not the hotel's responsibility but it summed up the surrounding area.

Review 89:The hummam was lovely. The hotel was like a little oasis with its fountain, plants and Bird life. The food was nice.

Review 90:Room 34 is right behind the shared computer, which causes quit a lot of noise. The food is really good, but you can share portions easily. Although we found two meals on our bill twice, which we didn't order.

Review 91:Friendly staff, great hospiltality. Your own table right in front of your room is a very nice concept. Good food.

Review 92:We had room nr 34 and the bed (matras) is not so good, we kept rolling towards the middle.

Review 93:The setup of the Dar and the atmosphere and the ability to eat were you prefer. Good travel tips for the road to Marrakesh

Review 94:The towels must have been left to dry close to smoke and they were slightly smelling of such.

Review 95:Excellent facilities and staff. Very clean and nice made our stay a true pleasure.

Review 96:There was a little man who serenaded us with a three string guitar, which was nice - but a little intense as we were the only people eating and he stood right next to us!

Review 97:The place is spectacular, the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind and the food was really good!

Review 98:No bathplugs (again!) and somewhat intermittent hot water supply, but these are small complaints in light of the overall excellenceof Dar Daif

Review 99:Fantastic renovation of a kasbah - excellent staff and food , and diningin the atrium area next to our room was a unique experience. JeanPierre, the owner , was most friendly and helpful as were all his staff- a definite recommendation for any visit to Ouarzazate..

Review 100:Hammam was not as hot as it should be.

Review 101:We were upgraded to à larger room since we were the only ones there.Good view from à balcony in the commen area. Nice garden, but too cold to enjoy it in the evening in winter time. Good breakfast. Friendly staff, all staff.

Review 102:Everything

Review 103:Lovely place with an extraordinary rural atmosphere.

Review 104:Although a little difficult to find, this was a gorgeous riad that exceeded our expectations in almost every way!

Review 105:The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. You felt right at home.

Review 106:That our stay was so short

Review 107:Very relaxing,low key.Lovely decor.Wonderful views.Exceptional wait staff.
