Reviews for Sunset Resort
Review 1:Most of the staff were really rude! The bar staff acted like they didn't want to work there, some even mocking people.
Review 2:loved the hotel and the hotel beach and all the facilities available.
Review 3:Variety of food in restaurants is same every day (buffet), but still fresh and tasty.
Review 4:Location, own clean beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, spa, swimming pools, territory, terrace in the room with amazing sea-view
Review 5:The staff need to be more friendly and learn hospitality. This is a shame as the hotel is beautiful buildings but like any business it's the service and the people that make People happy...
Review 6:The amount of pools and cleanses, the size of the hotel. The hotel is located very close to the airport so a single straight forward journey...the hotel is very beautiful and I would recommend it but u have to accept the ignorance of the staff as it's the norm throughout.0
Review 7:The staff here are extremely rude and unprofessional. As most guest have an all-inclusive package, they have no incentive to be nice. There is no internet in the rooms.
Review 8:Absolutely nothing, this hotel deserves 2 stars at best!
Review 9:- very low quality of food - you have to pay 6 lv per day for parking but they don't have a parking space - if you don't have all inclusive package, you have to pay 25 lv per day for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella - even though the appartment is big, it looks like a 3* hotel, very basic and ugly furniture, sandstone all over the place, except bedroom (very small) that has a basic carpet. - almost all sunbeds are reserved very early at the beach and also at the pool - free internet only in the sigma reception, in the rest of the resort you have to pay - good quality of food in the a la carte restaurants but very expensive (35 lv a bowl of rice at the italian restaurant, 10 lv a soup at the mediteranean restaurant) - nothing to do outside the resort ( it is a very poor area with only 2-3 souvenir shops and the the same number of tavern where you definitely don't want to eat if you have children) - very very very weak, inexperienced animation team, one mini-club almost always closed, even though the schedule is 10-13 and 15-18 every day. We are 2 families with 3 children that booked 7 nights here, but check-out after 5, because we were very dissapointed. We stayed in the alpha2 building and after seeing all the resort we concluded that is worth to come here only if you are staying in the sigma building, because has the all inclusive restaurants, the biggest pool, internet in the lobby and a little place to park the car, but at that price there are other nice hotels, not far away that offer a lot more...
Review 10:location on the beach
Review 11:Prices are high in the restaurants, and you have to pay for almost every additional services.
Review 12:This is a wonderful hotel for families. There is a good sandy seaside with lifeguards, nice pools, kids club, animators, etc. The 2 bed room apartman was clean, big and well kept.
Review 13:By 8:00 AM all the lounge chairs by the pool were generally already 'reserved' by other guests who had placed their towels on them. Many of these guests wouldn't appear until much later (if at all). I'm not sure if the hotel would be able to prevent this from happening, but it was definitely frustrating to deal with. Renting umbrella's and lounge chairs on the beach was expensive (16 Lev per chair and per umbrella). The restaurants that were on the hotel grounds were expensive, especially compared to all other restaurants in the area. Air conditioning in the rooms was minimal. We had a unit that pumped out very little cold air into the living area. Our 2-bedroom apartment was generally quite warm as a result. The areas surrounding the pools were very, very slippery. Even when extra careful you couldn't always prevent slipping. I saw several people (incl. myself) fall hard. We received one beach towel per person when we arrived. We were told to be careful with the towels, since you had to pay 50 Lev per towel that you didn't return. We were quite careful with them, but twice they were removed from our lounge chairs. We ended up replacing these by walking around the pools after dinner and picking up a towel that was left behind by someone else. My guess is that others ran into the same problem that we did (disappearing towels) and replaced them the same way. We ate dinner at St. Stefan Restaurant in Nessebar (near the center of town overlooking the ocean). It was a pleasant meal. However, the waiter added all kinds of arbitrary fees, like 4 Lev for rice which was part of the meal, but suddenly we had to pay extra for. We had left him a tip on the table, but came to find out that the waiter had also added it to the bill. In the end we paid more than 25 Lev extra. We definitely felt scammed there. This was the only restaurant where we had this experience.
Review 14:The hotel has several pools which cater to different age groups. One pool was for the younger children who can't swim yet. The large pool had several adult activities throughout the day and the pool near our hotel building was a bit more quiet, which was very pleasant. The indoor pool (by the Spa) was a wonderful place to retreat to when the sun was a bit too hot. The beach and the ocean were wonderful! The beach was clean and though it was busy, it wasn't too crowded. There were plenty of umbrella's & chairs available for rental. The ocean water was clean and warm with small waves. We had our breakfast included and in retrospect I am glad that we had that arrangement. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and most of them are very reasonable in price. I spoke to other guests who had the all-inclusive package and they grew quickly tired of the limited choices at the lunch and dinner buffets. I highly recommend you visit downtown Pomorie. It was wonderful. We didn't "discover" it until late into our vacation. It's a beautiful area with many restaurants, a little fair for the children and street performances. It's so much nicer than the area surrounding the hotel. It's about 2 km away from the hotel, so you'll want to take a taxi. I would recommend that you get a taxi through the lobby. Prices were generally higher when you approached a taxi driver yourself. Instead of paying the standard 10 Lev (approx. 5 euro's), you suddenly had to pay 15 Lev. We rented a car for the day (110 Lev) and drove to Burgas and Nessebar. Both were great places to visit. Nessebar was very nice and clean. Very touristy, though.
Review 15:The hotels sunbeds are not included for B&B customers and they werent cheap. Same goes for some of the beach bars. Some of the a-la carte restaurants at the resort were quite expensive but there are great alternatives within a 5-10 min walk.
Review 16:Nice, clean hotel with a lot of facilities. Good animation team. Cleaning every day. Great pools for children. Nice and helpful workers.
Review 17:Couldn't fault the place or the staff, awesome! Definitely going back there... For longer next time
Review 18:Staff can be dis-interested and look unhappy Food not 5 star by comparison to other 4 stars we have stayed in ...
Review 19:Rooms are fab Clean and efficient
Review 20:Staff were very rude and not friendly at all
Review 21:Pools were clean and facilities of the hotel were good
Review 22:Bulgarian people attitude
Review 23:Everything excluding Bulgarian people attitude
Review 24:- bad all inclusive food
Review 25:- large rooms - very clean hotel
Review 26:The sunbed Must be without payment Because we had all inclusive
Review 27:I like every thing
Review 28:The room Was not a 5 stars hotel
Review 29:The swimming pools
Review 30:having to pay on beach, German rudeness
Review 31:Hotel manager Dimitar was amazing personally made sure all are needs were met.
Review 32:All in should be a total all in, fake cola and drinks is crap. Beach is partly free for hotelguests but always full untill 1 pm. Chairs are being reserved very early while it states they don't allow this. A lot of noice in the ETA hotel in the evening when kids need to sleep. Bathroom smells but is cleaned daily.
Review 33:Very nice surroundings. Staff was great with children. Nice buffets for breakfast. Clean and very well kept.
Review 36:pools could be cleaner, as well as the beach towels beach area had cigarette buds all over most of the waiters could improve a lot on customer care - if I compare it to my experience in Turkey, there they were always smiling, while here I felt that they think that they are doing a favor for me to serve - it might be a cultural thing... some clarity with regards to which building would the booked apartment be located, and what attributes it has would be greatly appreciated, as there are clear differences, and the price seems to be the same - I might be wrong, in this case apologies
Review 37:The weather - average temperature 30 degrees, very nice, water temperature is great as well Beach - shallow water, good for kids (sand has some cigarette buds here and there though) Hotel management - very helpful. We were asked to change apartment three days after the arrival, as our shower was leaking and flooded the apartment below us - we have been given a better apartment in a different building and some other costs were covered by the hotel too to compensate for the inconvenience. Food - can be boring after a week or so, but the availability of a la carte restaurants adds to the variety
Review 38:The staff at breakfast all walked around like they were working in a prison camp. It would be much nicer if they would smile and even pretend that they were having a good time because I am sure there could be worse places where they could be working. PLEASE fix your breakfast as this was the only dissapointment on our trip. The food was tasteless boring and would better be suited to a two star budget hotel and not such a fantastic resort like Sunset. We are lucky we did not choose all inclusive because who knows what the dinner would have been like.
Review 39:The kids animators were fantastic! Pools were great. The hotel is very impressive with lots of facilities.
Review 40:Breakfast is good and with good variation, but not as excepted in fivestars hotel if compared with other five and four stars hotels. Too muchyoung kids, if this is regarded negative point. Air condition in theapparent is not easy to control. Although modern kitchen with dishwasherand cloth washer, there is no utensils for cooking at all, just foreating, and no liquids to use in washers. Bath liquides not replaceddaily without request. Towels are super white, but some with old spots.Bed sofa in the hall was not tested, as we were 4 instead of 5 asbooked. No dusch draperies, so bathroom get wet after bathing, and waterhas bad drainage and stays on.
Review 41:The buildings in all details. The pools in all details, except earlyclosure at 6 pm. Beach, of course. Night programs. Parking, cheap andavailable. Away from dirty places as those in Sunny Beach. Differentwater ride's activities on beach, although not belonging to thehotel itself. Very friendly staff, some with some limitations inEnglish. Gardens, of course. Silence in the apartment. Good selection oftv channels. Good privacy. Different sport activities. Apparently goodprograms to young children, not experienced by ourselves. Good lifts.Nice shops. Very good value for money, unbeatable. Meals exceptbreakfast are not experienced. Good beds. Nice sofa. Excellentfurniture.
Review 42:It was difficult to get a sunlounger if you did not put your towel out early in the morning, despite notices and reminders that this was not allowed.
Review 43:The hotel was beautifully clean, plenty of staff, well organised, lots of space, lovely rooms, good food. Excellent facilities, entertainment staff had boundless energy and enthusiasm, yet were not too over the top if you did not want to join in.
Review 44:some areas tiles in pools slippery food rather bland although much choice Suggestions: For breakfast, the orange drink offerd as orange juice is sacarinated crap, they could offer gresh orange juice either limiting to one glass per person or charging a nominal price for the juice only The sauces (Honey for pancakes, doubt most of it was honey) and jams (starwberry and marmalade) tasted awful. May be better for the hotal to contract withg afirm hat makes decent individually packed good qualityjam, honey, marmalade that peiple can use as they want. The reduction in wastage will probably balance the higher price for these. Ideally a resort this size should have atennis court or indoor badminton or squash court (one of these).
Review 45:several pools, clean beach with life guards, ample food and drink and restaurants
Review 46:The staffs attitude is disgusting at best. No smiles, rude and unhelpful and arrogant. There were the odd ones here and there which were lovely. You cant get a bed by the pool unless you wake up at 7am and reserve one, even though it is against hotel policy to do so everyone does it. The pool area is very slippery and dangerous. Even though there is a kitchen in the apartament there is no kettle or any pots and pans.
Review 47:This is not a 5 star resort, 3-4 star at best for food and 1 star for staff. The rooms and swimming pool however are beautiful and i would rate them 4 1/2 as there are maintance issues. Loved the sea views rooms, very clean, beautiful views and very large rooms, but do not get garden rooms as they are smaller the there is no view as the resort is located in the middle of no where. It is very clean and looks beautiful as a resort, great for families with children as you have everything on site. There is a bowling alley as well and a childrens centre.
Review 48:The food was horrible, the beds and sheets were not soft and it was very uncomfortable. There were no extra linens for the pull out bed,and we made the reservations with small children. We had to wait a while after we called to have them brought up(late at night). You had many guests which did not allow for us to find seats at the pools, with small children it is important to us that we have somewhere to rest and watch the children swim or for when they small children need to rest. I think you should allot for more chairs/loungers per family, maybe by a ticket system like your towels. We arrived around 2, and by the time we were able to eat, we were told that the kitchens were closed(at 2:45, but the kitchens say they are open until 3). So we had to ask the front desk what to do, where to eat. We were able to eat in one of the buffets and it was disgusting to say the least. Overall we will not recommend the Sunset Resort and will not stay there again. We felt like we wasted our time, considering we are traveling form the USA, it was a let down.
Review 49:The children loved the water slides.
Review 50:The whole experience was let down by a mix up with our booking. We don'tthink this was the fault of the hotel, rather a click through error onBooking.com or a listing/display error. We are certain we selected thehigher rate seaview room, but our booking confirmation did not containthat information. It took an hour to get checked in - and this wassupposed to be a relaxing break. We were eventually helped byBooking.com to resolve the issue with hotel staff (and I must sayeveryone at the hotel and booking.com was very polite and helpful) butwhen we checked out, we were told the room was priced at a higher ratethan displayed on the day of the booking and we had to pay a furthersupplement. Not very impressed.
Review 51:Loved the pool and the views.
Review 52:The price for the seaview and from the parking
Review 53:Bars, longchair and umbrella for free on the beach
Review 54:Beach was dirty and we had to pay for the sunbeds.
Review 55:Food ??? Not representing 5 stars hotel , mo internet w fii in the rooms or in pools
Review 56:Beitiful clean and well design complex
Review 57:nice
Review 58:Far from center, need to take racy every time
Review 59:Comfortable for kids
Review 60:The facilities and beach from the hotel, as well as the spa center and services they offer for its price
Review 61:Rooms
Review 62:Price versus quality balance 's excellent but need to improve service tocustomers\ room service should be done in such a luxury hotels/
