Quinta das Hortensias is a traditional Madeira home located in Arco de São Jorge, on the north Coast of Madeira Island. The unit features views over the Atlantic Ocean and the lush Laurissilva Forest.
The apartments and studios are set in renovated family vineyard houses. Each of the self-catering units comes with a fully-equipped kitchenette, bedroom, garden and a furnished terrace. The heated units have a cosy living area. Free WiFi is available in all areas.
Local restaurants are available within a 10-minute walk, most serving the area´s traditional cuisine. Alternatively, guests may choose to stay in and cook their own meals in the equipped kitchenette. A homemade breakfast with a variety of jams and local delicacies is also served each morning at the main house, at an extra charge. The traditional “Poncha” beverage and the famous honey cake are also available, at an extra fee.
The nearest beach is a 15-minute drive from the property. The famed S. Vicente Caves are a 30-minute drive, while the natural pools of Porto Moniz are within a 40-minute drive. Central Funchal is a 45-minute drive and Madeira International Airport is 35 minutes’ drive from the Quinta das Hortensias.

Review 1：Quinta das Hortensias self catering and B&B is quite simply fabulous. We stayed for one week in the studio apartment and loved everything about it - the lovely garden, wonderful view, the well appointed, clean apartment and the setting close to several good trails. What stood out the most, however, was the friendliness and generosity of our hosts: Bela and her husband clearly enjoy sharing Madeira culture with their guests. Their kindness made a great trip into a wonderfully memorable experience. We hope to return!

Review 3：Our hosts were wonderful. The view was amazing and the dogs were fun. The warm bread straight from the bakery was a bonus - usually finished as soon as we got it in the evening! Quiet and friendly.
Review 4：Wonderful host, she could not do enough for you! Beautiful garden with marvellous views over the gardens of the village down to the sea. The furnishings were of a high quality and we enjoyed fun with the four friendly dogs!
