Reviews for De Oolderhof

Review 1:Spacious room, nicely decorated; quiet neighborhood close to the countryside; friendly staff; high-speed Wi-Fi available everywhere; free parking. Everything suited the purpose of my stay.

Review 2:My sister and I could not fault this hotel in any way. Junior suite was very large and a large bathroom with corner bath and seperate large shower. The pictures don't do it justice. The food in the hotel was superb. Would recommend anyone wanting a bit of luxury at very reasonable rates.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:Highlight of thr trip. Rooms were big. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a homey feeling and im not surprised why they are rated so highly.

Review 5:bed is not so clean. it makes me itchy:(

Review 6:breakfast and dinner! the staff is super nice!

Review 7:Most of all the personal and very friendly approach towards us.

Review 8:The friendliness of the staff, and the openess of the room

Review 9:The friendliness of the staff was exceptional - and the room was a Junior suite unheard of for this price.

Review 10:Staff. Friendly and helpful.

Review 11:Welcome, comfort, professionalism, quality of dinner and breakfast.

Review 12:What was not to like

Review 13:The Hotel rooms are big and very confortable The restaurant is very good, the food is excelent. The staff is very kind and they helped me when I asked some information

Review 14:Very friendly staff, the owner polite and helpful. The room clean andcomfortable. Location gut, near the lake. The nearby town in about 5-10 minutes away with the car. Breakfast very nice. The restaurant wasoffering a plenty of tasty dishes, but with a overrated price-quality ratio.

Review 15:We simply loved everything about this hotel: great location (in the middle of nature, surrounded by lakes, meadows, the birds` trill, even some cute bunnies or squirrels now and then....a true SPA experience :-) and still pretty close to the center of the city), very spacious and clean rooms, great restaurant, very kind and helpful personnel...they create a homey and warm atmosphere. Everything was great!! We would love to come back again

Review 16:We can only hire bycicle for a day.I Think 10€ is too expensive when wecan only use it a half day.

Review 17:We really enjoy this huge suite well equiped with a balcolny. Thelocation is very nice. This is a good departure for cycling. Thebreakfast is very tastfully, good choice. As the weather was nice we tookour breakfast on the terrace. Good value for the money.

Review 18:nothing to complain about.

Review 19:large comfortable suite, with large bathroom, fridge, balcony, excellent free wifi. Plenty of available parking. Helpful and attentive staff. Nice food in the restaurant. recommend GPS to find the location.

Review 20:A number of reviews have commented that there is a distance between thehotel room building and the restaurant. It was only a minorinconvenience for us.

Review 21:We were looking for relaxation and quiet at the end of a two-week multi-city trip. Oolderhofjes was perfect. We appreciated the easy access byauto, the outstanding breakfast, and the friendly staff. Our room, asuite with garden view, was very comfortable. We had dinner in therestaurant one night, and were very pleased with the quality of ourmeals. As an added benefit, there was a concert in the Ooleander (an on-site concert venue) while we were there. We enjoyed both the concert andthe venue.

Review 22:Even If must specially think something out, I would not find any. It happens very rare with me.

Review 23:It will not be enough space to discribe what we liked.:) I just can say, that you hardly will get such expirience for that many anywhere else in Holland. Everething was just top of the top, including food, room, personnel approach, atmosphere etc. Just outstandanding. They get michelin prize every year since 2007 and it is truly deserved. Better go there and see everything with your own eyes. Definitely try holland wine in restaurant, I was surprised, that it could be so nice. Honestly saying I thought that holland wine do not exist at all.:) This place is full of surprises. Worth to be seen.

Review 24:The junior suite is large enough for an extra bed. It includes a seating area and even a microwave and fridge. The hotel offers free parking and it is close to Roermond. Breakfast was very nice breakfast but what excited us most was the super-friendly staff!

Review 25:I don't like the fact that the rooms are separated from the mainbuilding. The food in the restaurant was not so good (ok, I took somefish, bad mistake when you are use to french cook...)

Review 26:Very nice hotel.

Review 27:Near watersport facilities About 10 min, by car, to the center of Roermond or the Outlet village. The room is large. We had our own garden seat outside the room.

Review 28:Brilliant hotel, beautiful surroundings for walking, cycling, boating, etc. The restaurant charming, staff very kind and friendly. Food and wine superb.

Review 29:Something to just mention is that the reception is a shake away from the actual hotel where the rooms are located, so breakfast is within a distance from the rooms but very short and pleasant walk.

Review 30:Very calm surroundings, near a lake, peacefull cozy but spacious rooms. In that ,The hotel itself is quite old, decore can be improved as in adding a bit more character to what already does exist. Strange, but location is in the midst of a neighborehood, with really, plenty of parking. The scene as we experienced it, is of older couples, however, that did not matter at all. We seeked a quiet time and that's what we got. There's an outside area that's very charming, everything is very clean, great bathroom!!, nice people.

Review 31:The reception and breakfast are in another building then the hotelroom. They are about 250 m apart. And no 24 hour reception service.

Review 32:The hotel is nice located and looks nice. Garden suite are big and hasnice beds, bathroom and living room. It has a flat screen television.Breakfast was very good and fresh.

Review 33:We found very little room for any complaints. Other reviewers havementioned that the accommodation and restaurant facilities are inseparate buildings, which would be inconvenient in adverse weather. However, there is a greater distance between the carpark and hotel atthe Hilton Doubletree in Luxembourg.

Review 34:We have travelled across most of Europe, staying at B&Bs and hotels -and this is certainly the best of the lot (including the 'best b&b inHolland'). The service from all staff members was outstanding, includinga room cleaner who insisted on helping us with the luggage trolley. Wewere able to make use of a washing machine and dryer - courtesy of thevery friendly and efficient receptionist. The restaurant is excellent, both for evening meals and breakfasts. We stayed in a garden suite, and this was a huge room, with separate lounging and bedroom areas. There was a small kitchenette with microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and kettle; also a large table and chairs, settee etc. etc. - not to mention the balcony. The bathroom was also huge and well equipped. The overall living space was probably three or four times that of the smallest room we have occupied in our travels. In addition to all of this, the guests have use of a very large common room, with a fully-equipped kitchen. There is a large lift, useful for taking luggage to and from the upper floor. The hotel itself is located in a quiet, picturesque, rural area, with an adjacent expanse of water that is used for water sports. This is Holland, so there are no mountains!

Review 35:None. (But not really accessible if you are not traveling by car)

Review 36:Excellent Room (Good Size and Amenities), Great Bar, Superb Restaruant,Friendly & Helpful staff, quiet country side next to a lake, veryrelaxing indeed.

Review 37:I knew this in advance and it can not be helped but : the hotel part isa different building from the reception/lounge bar/restaurant part, about 200 metres apart I think. So having to go to your breakfastthrough the cold and rain early in the morning was not an enjoyableexperience :-) Very good for waking up though ! And use a gps to findyour way there, it isn't so easy to find.

Review 38:Very friendly and helpful staff, was even allowed to park my mopedinside together with bicycles. Very large rooms, very clean andluxurious. The bathroom was so big, you needed dogs to find your way outagain (Garden Suite 133). Good restaurant and bar with decent prices, very good buffet breakfast. And very very quiet at night :-)

Review 39:The distance between the main hotel and the rooms due to these being onseparate sites. Then the long walk to the suite. This may not appear toobad to healthy fit folk but those with disability may find it difficult. The fact that I could not empty the bath and there being no maintenanceon site meant a full bath overnight rendering the bath unusable in themorning. However the shower coped admirably.

Review 40:The garden suite was excellent. A real pleasant change from the usualboring box rooms. A large user friendly en-suite. Despite comments belowwe enjoyed our short stay

Review 41:The suite was very comfortable, nicely furnished with enough space. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was very good. But we didn´t like to have the same vegetables every night.

Review 42:Pillows uncomfortable. Leftover cigarette butts on the balcony. No steam room.

Review 43:The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom exceptional!

Review 44:Friendly and service minded staff. Good food and excellent ambiance. Well situated for day tours sightseeing etc
