Reviews for The Dove Cote

Review 1:The car detailing business across the road sometimes a bit noisy early in the morning but we did stay during the week - probably wouldn't be an issue for a weekend stay.

Review 2:Wonderful studio cottage close to everything. Breakfast provisions and little extras like port and chocolates were brilliant. Lot's of restaurants, cafe's, pubs etc within walking distance. Matthew the Manager very friendly and helpful.

Review 3:Weather in Tanunda was 42 degrees both days and aircon inside was most refreshing. Was a lovely little cottage and would love to return in the future.

Review 4:the only contact we had with the owner was a phone call because she couldn't use my credit card. This is not my favorite type of B&B: No personal touch; no connection with the tenant...

Review 5:Beautiful house, spotless, comfortable, well kitted out for a baby and great provisions. Great customer service-I was able to drop off baby bottles to be kept in the fridge earlier in the day and the little extra touches were lovely. We'll definitely be back!!

Review 6:Nothing bad - all good!!

Review 7:Beautifully appointed cozy cottage in quiet location but close to all facilities in Tanunda. This B and B was generously supplied with breakfast items and even port and chocolates to finish off the day. We will be back!!!

Review 8:The description was misleading - it said two-bedroom. However it was not a separate bedroom just a space under the eaves on a mezzanine floor - open to the lounge/dining area. This was barely suitable for a couple plus another adult.

Review 9:Everything! Location walking distance to main street in Tanunda. A beautiful rose garden. Own outdoor setting with BBQ etc. Inside great décor, comfy bed, well appointed. Big bathroom, shower & spa. Delicious breakfast foods, fresh bread & milk, cereals, fruit, chocolates & port. All we wanted and more!

Review 10:Loved the cottage. It's spacious surrounded by rosebeds and a dove out the back garden. Everything was clean, well provided and very peaceful. We loved it!

Review 11:Owner can take some time to return emails, before arrival. Once at property, we used the spa bath once but only to find that when turned on it regurgitated shaved hair. Reported this to the owner as feedback and never heard back from them to acknowledge the email.

Review 12:Nothing really comes to mind

Review 13:We didn't expect to find bacon and eggs in the fridge but we were treated. Everything was thought of and it was a lovely location. We will be back

Review 14:Could have sent the booking order which included the security code a day earlier than they did as this would have saved me a call to them to get the correct code for the door key

Review 15:Very neat and tidy, everything that you promised would be included in the package was available when we arrived

Review 16:Wi-Fi access would have been great but you can go to the library to access it when needed.

Review 17:The whole experience was awesome. Highly recommend this cottage

Review 18:Great location in Tanunda. We had the 2 bedroom cottage which was at the back of the property. Lovely outdoor area with white pigeons which sounded lovely in the morning. Cottage itself was comfortable, had a pot belly type fire place and a lovely spa bath. Bed was very hard but surprisingly really comfortable, we both slept very well. Breakfast provisions were fantastic, everything you could need. Great little cottage, highly recommend.

Review 19:The WOW factor was felt when we entered the cottage. The breakfast provisions were very plentiful & my partner loved the complimentary port of an evening. The bed extremely comfortable and the spa inviting!!! Would definitely recommend this property if venturing in the Barossa Valley. 5* rating+++

Review 20:We expected a 2nd bedroom, the single bed is in an open loft, made it hard for 70 yr old on steep stairs and for quiet, as any movement downstairs echoed.

Review 21:Excellent catering, sparkling clean, great location.

Review 22:No foxtel &there was no wood to burn, only small amount of kindling which only lasted about 1 hour

Review 23:Breakfast was excellent,beds comfortable&impressed with housekeeping

Review 24:Car repair business across the road. Noisy from 7 in the morning. We were lucky they worked for two days only during our stay.

Review 25:Clean,nice place.Great food.Everything prepared with German accuracy.

Review 26:The only thing I can think of (and I'm really stretching here) is that the studio could do with one or two more free power points. There was no free power point for the toaster, while a free powerpoint next to the bed to charge phones would be very handy.

Review 27:Just so clean, and so charming! We did not want for anything. The fridge was wonderfully supplied for our breakfast, nice welcome chocolates on our bed, and a complimentary bottle of port waiting for us!

Review 28:We stayed in the studio which was well equipped for our 2 night stay - one street back from the main street so very central. Studio was clean, lovely breakfast hamper provided. All up we enjoyed our stay

Review 29:a large amount of dust had accumulated on the ceiling sweeper fan and on the elevated wall areas ( the unit has a loft) and ceiling ,which was a little ugh.

Review 30:The venue is well located within an easy stroll to all amenities. The rear garden area is a peaceful place to relax and undercover (shaded) car parking is provided for the rear unit. It is spacious with loads of quality food for breakfast being provided.

Review 31:Early morning mechanic work across the street

Review 32:Cosy cottage, comfortable bed, good supplies for breakfast, good parking, laundry.Just off of main street Tanunda. Walking distance to many places to eat.

Review 33:Easy to come and go as we please, perfect location. We had the two bedroom cottage which was the perfect romantic getaway for two. Close to shops. Breakfast was great!!

Review 34:Noise during day from business across the road, but into every life a little rain must fall! Am sure they would rather have been in our shoes, and you couldn't hear rhem from the wineries.........

Review 35:Just about everything......walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants. cute little studio and lovely presentation, nice size spa, lovely little garden and courtyard. all very comfortable and relaxing.

Review 36:We were not informed that we were in the rear cottage, just that we were to park at the rear. Because of flight delays we arrived late at night with no idea of which cottage was ours because no lights were on and the sensor light had not been armed for our cottage. Consequently we woke the people in the front cottage because their sensor light did turn on leading us to think that it was our entrance.

Review 37:Lovely homey atmosphere, good lighting, lovely provisions in kitchen and garden and dove cote just gorgeous. Log fire also fabulous. Great location with easy access to village.

Review 38:The leadlight window let the sun in too early lol

Review 39:The bed was comfy and the spa great. The lounge was ok also. The little courtyard was cute and had it been a little warmer, we wouldve eaten breakfast out there. The kitchen was cute but a little small to prepare and cook but still managed it ok. The location was good also for what we were there for. :)

Review 40:It was quaint, beautifully restored, warm and comfortable and the little extras made us feel welcome and at home. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was amazing.

Review 41:lovely setting and very well appointed. Bed exceptionally comfortable, bathroom terrific. Kitchen well stocked with lovely food. Grounds were very pretty. location was great and very easy to walk into town.

Review 42:The bed was very uncomfortable, not enough towels seeing as there is a spa and shower, didn't seem to be professionally cleaned as there were still hairs in the spa/shower mirror was dirty, glasses in cupboard still had lipstick marks on them, unfortunately for us the next door neighbours were up until 4am both nights partying so our quiet relaxing weekend away wasn't so quiet!

Review 43:The breakfast supplies were nice. The combustion fire.

Review 44:Didn't receive email from accomodation owner prior to our arrival with instructions on how to collect keys or how that process would work; car cleaning garage across the road did create some noise early morning

Review 45:Very clean and cosy accomadation within walking distance of main street of Tanunda and its amenities. Breakfast provisions and fortified wine provided for a nightcap were a lovely touch - highly recommend for relaxing break away

Review 46:Poor value compared to other property in the area. Every sound from the upstairs bedroom carried to the bedroom below and sharing a single and partially onsuite bathroom with the room below made for a very unprivate experience.

Review 47:Good location and OK facilities

Review 48:Would have liked to receive information about entering the property earlier & was a bit confused at first as am used to UK B & B's where owner is on site

Review 49:Variety of food supplied for Breakfasts was excellent, bed & whole space was lovely. Perfect location close to cafés.

Review 50:We loved the comfortable bed, the great breakfast provisions, the spa and the cleanliness of the studio.

Review 51:The breakfast provisions.

Review 52:Loved everything

Review 53:Great little cottage, private. Breakfast was amazing!!!!

Review 54:Beautiful garden and owner posted a coat that was left behind

Review 55:we had to leave

Review 56:very clean walking distance to main street , bread, milk and breakfast provisions were plenty , beds were supper comfy

Review 57:We went to use the BBQ, but it was covered in mould and we needed to clean it.

Review 58:Couldn't use the spa because the plug wasn't the correct size.

Review 59:The package was very good, cleanliness, breakfast excellent and location.

Review 60:Bit old fashioned and not very inspiring

Review 61:Easy location

Review 62:No negatives

Review 63:Great location, fantastic breakfast and the fire is wonderful. Great base to explore the Barossa from.

Review 64:Only one toilet and squeaking floor boards

Review 65:On arrival "WOW" on further inspection "WOW" At breakfast "WOW"

Review 66:The space was excellent

Review 67:The lovely breakfast items available, the warm fireplace and the decor.

Review 68:WiFi would have made it even better.

Review 69:The Dove Cote was close to everything you needed. The breakfast was amazing and the accommodation was lovely. Will go again.

Review 70:Not enough electrical sockets in the room, especially at breakfast time

Review 71:It all worked

Review 72:Not able to have log fire.

Review 73:The facilities were comfortable and clean.

Review 74:The breakfast provisions were a wonderful surprise.

Review 75:Very generous with the food provided

Review 76:If a cooking oil is provided it would be prefect :)

Review 77:A lovely and relaxing place to day!

Review 78:Great cottage, perfect for a wine weekend. Owners had taken care to make sure everything you could want was taken care of. We would highly recommend!

Review 79:Bed too hard, very uncomfortable !!

Review 80:Good facilities, nice area

Review 81:Bed was too firm for my back and pillows too flat.

Review 82:Loved the furniture and cleanliness, parking was good.

Review 83:Relaxed environment

Review 84:Perfect place

Review 85:Everything

Review 86:Clean, great location, walking distance to Main Street restaurants , shop.

Review 90:Great location, well equipped and lovely decor. Had everything we wanted and the breakfast was a highlight

Review 91:Homely, comfortable, great layout and superb breakfast provisions. A home from home.

Review 92:. . . the slightly tight parking. Can't think of anything else we didn't like.

Review 93:Generous, fresh breakfast provisions. Complimentary port ;-)

Review 94:Absolutely nothing

Review 95:Beautiful cottage, generous amenities, wonderful breakfast, real coffee, doves in the dovecote.

Review 96:The breakfast provided was amazing. The accommodation was fantastic.

Review 97:Nothing

Review 98:Everything.

Review 99:Accomodation: Spa..!! clean, comfortable, cozy. location location.

Review 100:Great town, great position, really beautiful place

Review 101:Clean house, nice breakfast with real coffee, enjoyed the fireplace and a glas of tawny.

Review 102:The queen bed is really hard, so i did wake up alot

Review 103:The amount of food for our stay. Everything was very comfortable

Review 104:Air con needs to be replaced

Review 105:location, great provisions.

Review 106:Extremely well appointed - breakfast foods provided included eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms & bacon, juice, milk, yogurt & selection of cereals. All this plus a bowl of fresh fruit. A 2 ring hot plate was very useful to prepare breakfast or light meals. Car space provided off-street. Laundry facilities to share with adjoining cottage.

Review 107:Difficult to find. Difficult to gain entry - no instructions, no staff on hand. Unprepossessing location in back street with noisy workshop across road. Small & cluttered - not much room to move around. Minimal cooking facilities. Only accessible power points were in kitchen/bathroom. Ambiguity in advertising 'breakfast is included' meant 'breakfast provisions are included - you cook it yourself!'

Review 108:Bathroom was large and clean. Food supplied was good quality. Plenty of pots & pans. Modern TV

Review 109:As soon as you walk in the door, you feel the at home atmosphere. This was our first B & B experience and it exceeded our expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Review 110:Nice accommodation, I know it was a studio but I would go for the bigger one at the back next time. Kitchen was tiny, a bit hard to prepare any meals, even breakfast. Overall a good choice if you are there for one or two days. Anything more you would need a bigger place.

Review 111:The main bed was so hard it was impossible to sleep in it. Owners should replace or put a comforter cover over the mattress. The light in the stairwell was broken off needs an electrician to repair. Very dangerous to walk down the stairs at night to use the toilet downstairs. The lighting overall was poor throughout the cottage. Bathroom towels supplied were awful thin and scratchy.

Review 112:Breakfast supplied was great, smokey bacon and fresh bread, fresh eggs and mushrooms, tomato's. Kitchen was a good size but the lighting useless being on the wall above the cupboards, needs a light over the bench tops. The spa was great.
