Reviews for Hotel Raffaello
Review 1:A huge black dog at the reception is not everyone's pleasure... small things around the bathtub in the bathroom might be renewed.
Review 2:This hotel is located in the town center and near to all museums and churches. Everything can be done by foot. Very practical. The reception, a man and his son, were very friendly and offered information. I was astonished to hear that there was no breakfast during the Christmas days, but I was prepared myself with tea and watercooker. I loved the small bath tub. The room was fresh and clean. I also did not know that the personnel had a huge black dog, Deutsche Dogge, that was always lying nearby and would come and greet and sniff every guest. I hate to say that dogs of that size always have a smell around. Some guest might not like this and it is not written in the description. The hotel was quiet and in a nice location. I only heard somebody snoar loudly every night. I loved my stay in total, I liked Urbino very much and would go there any time again, but I have to say that I found the price a bit too high for an offer without any breakfast.
Review 3:It was a bit difficult finding the place because the sign is not clear - but the neighbours are obviously experienced with strangers lost under their window. Well, and the price is certainly not to everybody's delight.
Review 4:An elegant hotel with a very warm and friendly atmosphere, the employees showed a really profound knowledge of the city and eventual promblems for late / early arrival and departure at the bus terminals. The hotel is situated in a quiet but clean side-street, still near the "centre".
Review 5:If you want to stay later than 1am, you need to ring a bell to be let back into the hotel.
Review 6:Friendly, well-located with a lovely view and spacious room.
Review 7:Don't expect a lie in church bells start ringing every 15 mins from 8am !!!
Review 8:Breakfast served up to 10 am and being able to stay out late without being locked out.
Review 9:younger man on reception aloof and appears indifferent,my room was quiet on the first night ,but I could hear couple talking clearly at night the second night when adjacent room was occupied.
Review 10:location,helpful older man and young girl at reception.
Review 11:They didn't have a high chair for the breakfast nor was there a cot which we requested. The breakfast was very poor consisting of slices of cheap discount store cake, stale croissant, economy yoghurt and artificial juice drink. The fruit looked like the stuff they chuck out at the supermarket and appears in the corner shop.
Review 12:The deluxe room was very big clean and had an excellant view. The location is right in the centre of Urbino.
Review 13:the internet in the hotel is very bad so we bought a portable modem (Wind) which worked well.
Review 14:The location and the extraordinary view over the roofs of URBINO
Review 15:Our room (standard) was dark. If you can afford it, ask for a room with a view, higher up.
Review 16:The hotel is located in the centre, excellent for visiting main sights.
Review 17:The hotel is in a pleasant, quiet location. The view from our double window balcony in our deluxe double room was well worth the extra cost. It was amazing.
Review 18:Only stayed 4 days.
Review 19:Good location. I had no trouble finding it. I came via bus and walked straight to it. Well signposted. Had privacy and quiet in my room. Was able to practice my Italian on the staff (I'm a believer in travelling to a country and speaking their language!) Staff were helpful with anything I asked. Small fridge in room.
Review 20:Wasn't open when we had a booking. But they did open up for us. Not a good breakfast. The shower in the bath was difficult to get out of and could be an accident waiting to happen
Review 21:Great location, staff helpful. Wonderful view from our room
Review 22:Simple room with basic breakfast.
Review 23:Our room had a bit of a view over the town. Park outside ZTL on Viale Bruno Buozzi, by the castle and city walls, then there is short but very steep walk to hotel along Via Raffaello or over the top through alleys by the castle.
Review 24:The breakfast. Sadly, the moring capuccino was the worst we had in Italy on this trip. Too much sugary stuff yoo.
Review 25:We had stayed at the Raffaello previously and remembered the great view we had from our room (this came at a premium price this time). The location is very central, easy to get to from the car park at the bottom of the town. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
Review 26:WiFi limited availability (in lobby), elevator on fritz (and we were on floor 3). It is a steep uphill walk to the hotel from anywhere (which is why the room had a great view and was near all the attractions and restaurants).
Review 27:Central location, great view from room. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 28:The extremely steep grading of passageways to get to and from the hotel were difficult, but most of Urbino is like that. The bed was uncomfortable.
Review 29:The staff was amazingly cheerful and helpful, the included breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, and good Italian prosciutto and other meats. It was not far from Rafaello's home where he was born, close to very excellent restaurants and the main plaza.
Review 30:Breakfast was mediocre. Not a great choice and the quality was poor.
Review 31:Loction is excellent. Make sure you get a room on the top floor for fantastic views over the city
Review 32:Staff was not particularly helpful. Lobby was very dark as were stairwells. Lots of uphill luggage hauling; parking a distance away. Room was not at all comfortable.
Review 33:The room was clean and had a nice view of the city and countryside; well located with nice restaurants surrounding.
Review 34:Terrible decor Mediocre breakfast
Review 35:Nice man on reception with exceptionally sweet if slightly chubby dog. The hotel was clean and definitely had character
Review 36:nothing to complain about.
Review 37:Hotel was basic but clean, comfortable and functional. Owner was helpful and made us very welcome. Great location just a few mins by foot to the main piazza.
Review 38:The staff was very friendly.
Review 39:bed, parking
Review 40:location, cleanliness
Review 41:Very basic rooms
Review 42:Location
Review 43:Excellent location, great view from the room, front desk very friendly and helpful.
Review 44:Decor is dated a bit, but rooms are very clean. Location is perfect
Review 45:The room didn't feel as clean as I would normally prefer. Also, while we were told there was complimentary wifi, it did not work in our room, we had to go into the hall.
Review 46:The location and view was fabulous.
Review 47:difficult / impossible to get car near hotel entrance. You have to stop and unload and leave someone with the luggage, park at some distance then return. Note all Urbino is hilly.
Review 48:good position good and very inexpensive breakfast
Review 49:The shower was strange as there was a lot of room, but except directly under the shower itself, the floor was curved in such a way as to make it impossible to stand comfortably. A high sided shower, you are almost forced to sit. However, the sitting position required by this strange 'floor' was that for a woman in position for giving birth!
Review 50:I liked the room and the view from the window. The hotel is so high up in this hill town that the panorama from the 2nd floor was good and from the third floor excellent.
Review 51:I think my room was dusty. I put my yoga mat on the floor and it picked up a lot of dust. The hotel was a warm enough temperature but a cold atmosphere.
Review 52:The location was amazing and right in the middle of the centro storico.
Review 53:My top tip is to use the elevator up to the town when you arrive rather than dragging your luggage up the hill! I wish I'd known this before I arrived exhausted at reception
Review 54:Friendly staff, even at 5.45 in the morning when I left to catch a bus to Rome, and a great central location. They recommended an excellent local pizza restaurant whose name now escapes me - worth asking if you stay!
Review 55:There was nothing to dislike. Our room was very clean and comfortable, but the decor a bit modern for an historic building. However, the view makes up for this!
Review 56:The view from our room and the location in this magical town.
Review 57:The fact that the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill paved with bricks which become dangerous when wet. Breakfast was barely adequate and the bread stale. The room was OK but certainly not worth the price they charge.
Review 58:The view from the window.
Review 59:Fantastic place to stay in beautiful city of Urbino ! Very nice and quiet traditional hotel, located in the heart of the old city, comfortable and -what's important - with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, with comfortable bed. I have a very good time there, including talks with Paolo, who is creating a very nice atmosphere in the hotel and can recommend horel Raffaello to everybody.
Review 60:We found this hotel really excellent in every way. Fantastic view from our lovely bedroom. the staff were all charming and very helpful giving very good advice on finding the true Italian experience, Just perfect .
Review 61:The same family has run this hotel for 40 years and it needs a refurbishment. It's perfectly functional but is getting dated.
Review 62:Excellent central position although you need nerves of steel to park the car for unloading and then reverse back down the alley. Our room was large with loads of storage space and a view over the town.
Review 63:Hotel Raffaello has medieval charm, wonderful views, and location, location, location. Owner Julio is helpful, knowledgeable, caring. Breakfast included offers great start to the day. Close to restaurants, shopping, Ducale Palace, culture...did I say location?
Review 64:I like very much my contact with the owners of this hotel - they were very friendly and help me to improve my knowledge of Italy. Location is good.
Review 65:Shower water pressure not good and water not hot enough. The bed pillows were very hard.
Review 66:Friendliness of the staff especially Giulio. Good breakfast. Wonderful location and, from the top floor, beautiful romantic views.
Review 67:The hotel was clean, but the beds were poor and old, and the pillows were virtually flat. The hotel decor and furnishings were dorm-quality and run down. I would rate this a 2-star and not a 3-star.
Review 68:If you would like to stay right in Urbino, the location is fabulous.
Review 69:The hotel is located in the city center of Urbino on a calm street. I can not think of anything particulary good or bad about the hotel. Just an ok option to crash there for a night
Review 70:quiet,spacious,low-key,handy for everything.
Review 71:Hard to find with a car.
Review 72:Very basic hotel in an excellent location.
Review 73:Marginal Wi-Fi
Review 74:Location, view
Review 75:Cutting corners to save money at every level compromising guests comfort, arrogance of younger hotelier.
Review 76:Idraulic devices too old ans a bit noising.
Review 77:Very good location and superb view, relaxing bed and good breakfast.
Review 78:Room was a little shabby beds not great

Review 83:I enjoyed everything they had to offer!
Review 84:Location is excellent! Guilio and Paulo were very accommodating! Served a great continental breakfast!
Review 85:Very useful the manager gave us very good advices
Review 86:If you plan on coming with heavy luggage, going up the main street (Via Mazzini) will be tough.
Review 87:Clean, professional and very helpful staff.
