Reviews for Sea Turtle House Moalboal
Review 1:Not always stocked up with every food item so just ask the day before if you would really like something. Enough available to have something tasty though.
Review 2:We loved everything about this little bit of paradise. Thankyou Stefano and Ninita for an incredible stay. You both, and your amazing staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming we were so sad to leave after only 4 days. The food was cooked very well really flavoured, the housekeeping excellent. To relax and enjoy the sea was idea and they cater for all you needs. We swam with many turtles and had access to white beach via the sea walk but really we were quite happy in the grounds enjoying the tranquility. Thanks once again and miss you already.
Review 3:Room was beside kitchen and public toilette, staff was friendly but owner looked grumpy and wanted to overcharge us
Review 4:Front staff very accommodating. Location on the ocean but not white beach, bad road
Review 5:The staff were so wonderful and accommodating. I am a young lady travelling alone and never a moment i felt unsafe or scared. Quite the opposite. Nanita and her husband Stefano are such friendly people who always ensured i was happy and that i was enjoying my trip. I swam everyday with sea turtles! I recommend the day trip offered also where you will see dolphins and all the colours of the coral. Im vegetarian and staff were more than happy to make sure the breakfast accommodated my tastes also. i will definitely come back to visit ! Thank you so much for such a relaxing break.
Review 6:The transportation was kind of expensive but I understand why. The trip was relaxing because of the scenery. I hope they can install cable and TV for every room :-)
Review 7:The Staff and the wife's owner, Nenita were very nice to us. My son even played with the owner's son when we were there. The food was great but not that cheap although reasonable because they serve it fresh. The Fish Sinigang, Spaghetti and the Nenita Special were excellent. The place was very addictive. I saw at least a dozen of dolphins, 3 humungous sea turtles and millions of sardines when my family and I joined the island hopping. It was worth my money. If you wish to experience nightIife, you can go to Panagsama Beach. If you want to spend time on the white beach, it's just 50 feet away from the resort. The resort itself is a great place to snorkle and scuba diving as the underwater cave is very accessible at the resort. No need to go to Panagsama to rent boat to go to the same area. I will definitely be coming back next year. 8 days of stay is not enough. :-)
Review 8:The reef just in front of the hotel is just amazing. Just pack your snorkeling gear and enjoy snorkeling with many fishes and turtels. The rooms are good and clean, very good for a budget stay. Would go there again!
Review 9:This resort is never worth 3 stars. The bathroom is tiny. We could only shower with cold water, although the water heater was on. I suppose it was because of the low water pressure. The staff is cleaning the room only upon request hmmmm - but nobody informed us about this. Poor breakfast and overpriced food.
Review 10:The staff is amazing, they really treat you like family. It's a great location right by the ocean, and they even arranged a island-hopping trip for us, right from the shore! The food was great.
Review 11:Sea turtle house has great ambiance. It is located near the White beach but it's secluded enough that nobody disturbs you. if you are not looking for busy and loud accommodation, it is the right place for you:) Enjoying the quite evenings with great ocean view was just what I needed. And ,of course, I have to mention the staff which was great, helpful, friendly and always around !
Review 12:The only recommendation is to plan the stock when the guests are over there in order to have the meals offered in the menu!!!!!
Review 13:Although there is not beach in the hotel this is a paradise.... This is the dreamed place to have a real rest and disconnect from everything.... I really loved it... Great staff people... And the owner is a great person who is very interested to give the best quality to the guests!!!!
Review 14:paying 1500 pesos for a really medium rate room. I found a room with fan and air con. Having booked fan, anyway, extra payment needed for air con. Come on! is already installed!
Review 15:Very near from Moalboal coral
Review 16:Mainly tenporary inconveniences which are not relevant for next travellers cause all of them are already fixed or negligable.
Review 17:Far from the crowded citicenter on the seacost there is a hidden nice place. Sea turtle found this place and built up few bungallows. They continously upgrade their propery and try to make i as comfortable as possible. Staff is extremly friendly! Even sometimes we felt we are part of their family. Food is also awesome, every dish prepared very well! We could find out any crazy idea and they were helping us to organize it, any time... Like: motocycle rent, boat tour, massage, special food or drink not part of the menu, nightlife (they even come with us for hangout:) and of course snorkling, really you can see huge seaturtles just few meters from the coast.
Review 18:we were let in at 3:30 when the check in time is 2:00pm. there was a TV set in the room but its not functional as there are no channels, even local ones. the shores are rocky and not sandy and their resto and bar opens at 8:00 am, by the time we finish with our orders, we have already spent most of the morning time doing nothing. also, they do not replenish their supplies when its running out so customers get lacking side dish or dessert from their orders. if you want to have a relaxing time, avoid this place like a plague.
Review 19:Hello our dear Friends!Four dags ago we came with a flight from Krabi-KL, where we had to stay for one night. Next day to Cebu in Philippines. We had a 3hours taxi transfer from Cebu airport to the peninsula Moalboal on Cebu on the southwest part of the island and our hotel. We had three nice weeks in Thailand and five different places, two were islands. Good hotels, but rather cheap. Now we have stayed in a very nice 3 * hotel with rather big bungalows made of stone, not bamboo or wooden hut as we we had on the islands. (Stone is good in Philippines!) It's in a beautiful garden with swimming pool. Normally I don't like swimming pool close to the the sea, but in this case it's good, because there is no beach, just a reef and it's not so easy to swim. Our second day here in Moalboal, we walked to the village. On the way we stopped at a house where you could fill your water bottle. The lady asked where we stayed, Marcosa Cottage we said. "My sister work there and she has here day of, so she's at home, go and visit her! Come!", She and her husband followed us to the sister and we had a nice there with them and the small children. AmazingToday we took a tricycles, same as tuk tuk, but most of them are very old, but charming! I like them even if you have to think, that! You have of course seen them, I guess they are all over Philippines. We went a couple of km to a vey nice beach with an absolute clear water!! Very nice! The water around Koh Jum was not clear, maybe because of the river with the muddy water! We like it here, people is very nice and it's cheap. Can't be better. I guess you would also like it. We stay here on Moalboal until 12/2 but we will move to another place today and have two nights there. So the 12/2 we are going with a ferry to Bohol. We start in Bohol on the south coast, but not so far from .......hope it's a good place, because we have booked seven nights!
Review 20:Läget nära havet, fantastisk solnedgång.
Review 21:Breakfast serving size may be not enough for larger people who are going to start the day with strenuous activity
Review 22:The staff and owners were all very friendly and accommodating, we instantly felt very welcome here. Our room was tidy and exactly as described and as in the pictures. All the food we had including breakfast was fresh and healthy with options to choose from. All activities and transport could be arranged easily with help from staff. Wi-fi was working fast enough to surf, do business, bookings etc.
Review 23:Desert location (Nothing around). Old room with a Flinstones TV (only 2 channels) and not good working AC. Beach not available for swimming. We ate a beef steak for dinner so terrible. In the night the lights are so small to have problem to catch the room. Italian staff was so cold to seem we were not welcome
Review 24:nothing
Review 25:Loud air conditioner........of course a loud air conditioner is far better than no air conditioner.
Review 26:Not very many rental units means a quieter atmosphere than other resorts. Staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. The grounds are very clean and well kept. The food was very good and the menu quite diverse. Seeing sea turtles was a bonus.
Review 27:Lovely staff. Amazing waking up in front of such a nice beach.
Review 28:always had to tell them to clean the room, that should have been an automatic.
Review 29:the snorkeling is one of the best ever
Review 30:My bathroom could've been better.
Review 31:I liked everything about the place. Friendly staff, great food, and quiet seaside location.
Review 32:The location and the staff is great, the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Nice familial atmosphare
Review 33:Bad smell in the bathroom
Review 34:In the morning you just go for snorchling and there are plenty of sea turtles! Great staff Perfect service
Review 35:Cool and tranquil environment that is conducive for meditation and reflection
Review 36:this hostel run by a western man who married local philippino. The owner is very stingy.. everything is asked for money. The price of room is reasonable, but once you are here, u got stuck, it's about 8km. far away from main road. one bottle of 500mm drinking water 50Peso, price of breakfast, lunch and dinner cost you 300-600 peso per plate. to go out have to spend 120peso x2 times to call tricycle. means you have to spend another 1200-1500+ for water, food, transportation per person. Everything is very expensive here.. transportation very unconvenient.. The owner want to earn everything from you.. they don't provide any service. don't recommend u to come here.. Once u are here.. u like stuck in this area...
Review 37:beside sea coast
Review 38:very quiet and convenient place for snorkeling or dive. walk down the terrasse, swim for about 10min there's a huge wall under the sea with plenty to see. if you are luckily you will see big sea turtles. the sunset is beautiful.
Review 39:Sometimes they forget to clean the room even thou you ask them to do it or they promise to do it. DO NOT use the laundry service, it ruined my shirt and some of the clothes disappeared on the process. They promised to contact me by phone and later by email when I called them about the clothes but they never troubled to do so. I would not recommend due to unwillingness on taking responsibility when they make mistakes.
Review 40:Staff were friendly and the food was good
Review 41:Both the owners and staff at sea turtle house were very welcoming and lovely people. The food was 5 stars and can't be faulted. This is a place to relax and unwind. The sea and surrounding areas are amazing beautiful and if your lucky you might even see some sea turtles, which we did.
