Reviews for Turtle Bay Dive Resort

Review 1:it has quite an expensive price tag, on the price you see on booking there is 22% additional charges, plus everything else within the resort is quite expensive (e.g. diving, bottle of water, food, massage), it's not in the center of town but they call you a tricycle whenever you need one - or rent a motorbike.

Review 2:nice resort with very friendly staff and owners, good restaurant, great spa service. for people you like to be in resorts it's a nice place, very well-kept place

Review 3:Food and drinks too pricey. Wifi and Internet service most unreliable. I booked 3 nights but had to check out after the first night due to emergency and it was really stressful to have spent 4 hours just to get alternative flight home due to the unreliable internet service.

Review 4:The beautiful corals, fishes and turtles sighted during my cut short snorkelling trip.

Review 5:The day spa / massage is horrible... Therapist took phone calls, bad technique, I got bitten by mosquitoes during the massage. The food is below ordinary and the breakfast is really bad. The dive shop is expensive for the service provided. The dive master ignored a safety stop. Staff in the dive shop are really unfriendly

Review 6:The views and the pool. Free filtered water

Review 7:Everything had a little extra price attached to it and it wasn't understood that we like the simple life - visiting a beach we didn't want to be offered a 'cottage' to shelter in at extra cost. The beach will do us fine thank you.

Review 8:Brilliant place to relax and recuperate after time spent travelling. Staff were incredibly attentive - very pricey compared to anywhere else we stayed in the Philippines but still a lot cheaper than you pay for the equivalent in England. Everything is relevant I guess

Review 9:the location is isolated and you must pay for transport to and from the hotel, it is not convenient at all. there are other accommodations closer to the restaurants and other diver shops

Review 10:the local reef was a nice dive and great snorkeling, but there is fishing and all the big fish a taken by the locals

Review 11:Staff would curse foreign guests in Filipino and assume no one understood The mattresses can be improved and it would have been appreciated if toiletries (dental kit, etc.) were provided Rooms are a little overpriced for what you get, and transportation and services from the dive site are way overpriced

Review 12:Anne (front office) and the chef made us feel at home with their amazing hospitality! They did their best to meet all our needs The chefs cooking is very tasty and I would suggest the milkfish (bangus) and garlic rice for breakfast for those who want to experience Filipino cuisine

Review 13:I wish the roads leading up to the resort were better and would have more directional signs since they're off the main road. We were also hoping the resort would be more PWD (persons with disabilities) friendly.

Review 14:While the resort may be a bit more expensive compared to other places in the area, it was worth it. The rooms were very clean, the staff were courteous and they try to accommodate requests. The grounds of the resort were also well-kept. Overall, it seemed like they were really taking care of the resort.

Review 15:No TV in the room. A bit far from the city. Food and drinks are too much expensive (120 PHP for a SMB while in the city its 45 PHP).

Review 16:Nice resort for diving.

Review 17:No barking, chickens or motor cycle noise. A welcome break in a month of traveling the Philippines. The diving was spectacular and great affordable accommodations.

Review 18:Water pressure is low. Would have liked conditioner. A kids menu would be nice but prices are reasonable and accommodating to kids No beach but doesn't matter if you're here to dive or snorkel and there's a beach 10 minutes away Kids club or staff led kid activities would have been nice.

Review 19:WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN AND SUGGEST TURTLE BAY TO OUR FRIENDS! Extremely reasonably priced. Chicken burger is amazing. Everything made fresh that's why it takes longer to come out Access to snorkeling is amazing Staff knows guests and kids by names Spa prices are reasonable Good size pool and a separate kids pool Staff especially John was very helpful Very kid friendly Helped us with a sick kid Villa feeling. Villa 1,2, 3, 4, 11 have best view Skilled diving staff. Has its own diving boat and sll gear Owner on site everyday and interacts with all. Food prices reasonable. Laundry was good and reasonable Made Shirley temples for the kids and gave them bowls of cherries to eat Banana split was damn good! They took the kids out snorkeling to see sardines. Hangout by the bar at night was nice Hotel had families, couples, older couples, diving single people Just put money in the tip box every night. Sunset was beautiful Swing set area for kids. Lovely garden. Plenty of area for kids to play Able to put family of 5 in one room

Review 20:the staff were really friendly and couldn't do more for you. The views were breath taking. Facilities were really good and the food was great. We're already talking about when we can go back again.

Review 21:There is nothing to do in the area, unless you're a diver, I guess. So if you are not going to Moalboal for diving, then this is not a good resort to stay in. Their (free) internet also is very bad; and in some rooms, there is not even regular cellular service. We had three rooms in our booking -- one didn't even have a TV and the other had a TV but not working. They also don't have enough generators to power the resort in case there is a power cut, which happens every now and then.

Review 22:Resort is very nice, clean and staff are friendly, but there is no beach where you can lay on the sand and relax, take nice photos, etc... the "seaview room is just that -- a room with a view of the sea.

Review 23:The diving

Review 24:- ONE BED HAD BED BUGS - LOADS OF JELLYFISHES AT THE HOUSE REEF WHEN WE WERE THERE - ISOLATED

Review 25:FRIENDLY STAFF HOUSE REEF GREAT DIVE CENTER

Review 26:Hard to find

Review 27:The dive facilities are right on site. The house reef was excellent for snorkelling

Review 28:on going construction work and expensive compared to other places

Review 29:nice location, great house reef and garden

Review 30:Wonderful location to enjoy diving both from the shore and off boats. Simple food but fresh and tastey. Pretty garden and beautiful outlook.

Review 31:no beach

Review 32:Snorkelling at the house reef was great since we are not a family of divers.

Review 33:all staff was so nice and kind. I really want to visit there again.

Review 34:value for money. with cheaper price hotel could really good

Review 35:Staff, serious diving center, swimming pool, peace environment

Review 36:Taxi driver could not find the resort for a while after midnight - nobody to be asked on the street, A little expensive for a single traveller or diver, you have to find a friend to come with,

Review 37:I really enjoyed my holiday here! Staff are very friendly and kind, with good smiles! Room, swimming pool, restaurant are all clean, well prepared ,love to be there again!

Review 38:Somethings costed almost 3-4 times as much here compared to everywhere else. For example beer was 120 php instead of 40-50. Massage was 1200 php instead of 300! Staff was really nonchalant. We did't get everything right one single time at the restaurant. They always forgot something (like giving us fork and knife). And you always had to look for the girl in the reception. Normally you would find here chatting in the kitchen.... The road to the resort is horrible! Bumpy with big holes.

Review 39:Very beautiful surroundings. Nice house reef. One nice guy worked there. Jeff at the divecenter. He was really helpfull and service minded.

Review 40:Restaurant Staff requires more training.

Review 41:House coral reef. Snorkling and dive facilities. Private and secured location. Spacious cottage. Swimming pool with bar.

Review 42:What I did not like about this resort? The massage was very expensive, but I understand because it's resort, And there water need to pay 100 piso, it's good for long time staying but for 1 night stay water is expensive.... Other resort water was free....

Review 43:What i like there is good location for snorkeling coz no need to go far from the beach to watch under the sea,,,, Even if u will not go to swimming you can watch also small fish near the beach coz their sea was very clear....

Review 44:My family and i stayed at turtle bay for one week this christmas. We and several other guests noticed that the resort staff worked everyday from morning till evening, particularly the waitresses who served us every single meal. When we asked if they had a day off, we were truthfully told "only when there are no guests." To make matters worse, the waitresses do all tasks e.g serving food, working in the kitchen and manning the bar and it was clear that they were overrworked, tired and not trained, for example in making cocktails at the poolside bar.The food was also of a poor quality, the room was not as it was depicted online and you had to pay for wifi. My family and I will not be recommending this resort to anyone, despite having enjoyed the few dives we did. I find it deplorable and shameful that management treats their employees so badly. I also see here hthat other guests have made comments about the bad food and untrained staff before, why hasnt management taken these comments on board? The lack in professionalism and respect of both employees and guests need urgent attention.

Review 45:Dining system...we had our food ala cart & needed to order 2 hours prior to meal. This was not always convenient.

Review 46:Staff are really terrific! Warm & kind & very accommodating. Worked hard to meet everyone's needs

Review 47:The room was a bit small. We paid extra for a seaview room, but there was no sea view - only from outside the room. The window looked out on a car park, so that was dissappointing. The cheaper pool view would have been better.

Review 48:The staff were excellent. The pool was very nice

Review 49:It was extremely expensive, especially the whale shark tour. You pay over132€ for only one dive,a poor breakfast and one hour and half drive fromthe resort. If you do snorkel you will pay more or less the same, but dontexpect someone watching you while swimming. If you are a diver better goto Panglao. The hotel is only ok,for the price you pay I would expect atleast a tv in the room or wifi but if you want to get some connectionyou need to go to the restaurant area. Also the resort is in the middleof nowhere so you have to get a lift and pay everytime you want to go tothe beach.Food at the hotel is only ok and expensive so better if you goto Panasagma where you will find much cheaper restaurants.

Review 50:Staff is very friendy

Review 51:Worth my every penny spent here... The place was clean, accommodating and it feels like home. Food was great and serviceswere excellant. We were treated like family and our needs were takentake with great detail.

Review 52:Poor management. Restaurant food was Terrible and menu was veryboring. Rice, salads and sandwiches were the only edible options.Srewyou for everything American pricing policies! Common in thephilippines, you even pay for tea and coffee in your room, paying a100 pesos per person per day drinking water surcharge was also asurprise (if not full board). Private beach was very misleading, nobeach just some sand on a terrace with sun loungers! Don't ask forlaundry you will wait 3 days!

Review 53:Beautiful location, rooms were excellent and nice gardens. Good pool.Friendly staff.

Review 54:White beach is far from the hotel.

Review 55:Hotel staffs are very nice. Beach is for divers and is near from the hotel.

Review 56:They cheated us, changed the reservation.

Review 57:Table arrangement at mealtimes- would prefer individual tables.

Review 58:Diving quality. Poolside bar. Tranquil and quiet surroundings.

Review 59:Breakfast was very poor and restaurant service terrible. All additional services in the hotel are over priced.

Review 60:Very clean and well maintained place.
