Reviews for Urbino Resort

Review 1:The suite (Tartufo bianco) was ugly (cheeply furnished, depressing lighting, smell of a strong detergent). Several spiders and beetles on the floor, some dead, some alive. There are no (gauze) shutters to keep bugs out. The worst was the unbearable humidity in the rooms. We changed to a double room on the first floor (Safferano) which was equally ugly but less humid. The photos on the website are deceiving. There are dead bugs lying on the printed screen that covers the ceiling. The next morning we discovered that the shower did not work. They gave us another suite (Porcini). It had a gauze shutter in the living room (not in the bedroom) but it was broken. Overall the place is run down (dirty walls, wet stains in the bathroom). All the rooms are furnished in a "modern" style but extremely cheep and tasteless. The general layout (houses in a garden) is a nice idea; the installations (e.g. bathroom tiles) are well-chosen, but often dysfunctional ("boxy" toilet with an opening that is too large unless you are very big; "stylish-broken" mirror in which you can't see your face as a whole). The garden is not well-lit which may be a problem at night as you navigate the car backwards and walking if you don't have a torch. The furniture is cheap - lots of plastic, synthetic textiles that have a repulsive touch. As if they planned grand with the layout of the resort and then ran out of money. The extremely unpleasant lighting (in all three rooms we tried) makes you want to run away. We stayed in Urbino all day just not to return to this depressing room. The 30 Euros extra per person for the small spa is totally overrated. The resort caters to the masses; it is neither exclusive nor particularly "organic/eco". Personnel / service was average - not unfriendly but interacted in a professional/impersonal manner. We did not try their restaurant after we heard that the food was average at best, not real Italian.

Review 2:The location in a beautiful countryside. Firm beds. Breakfast (variety and the fact that they served nut/oat/soy-milk). Otherwise not much.

Review 3:The Urbino resort is not really in Urbino. That is about a 15 min drive away. Not a big problem but the name suggests it is closer by.

Review 4:Very friendly people doing all they can to give you a good time in a small, very comfortable and nicely located resort amidst wine fields, small lakes and olive trees. On the terrain of the resort is an excellent restaurant serving delicious local food.

Review 5:Very difficult to find even though we phoned when sat navigation and Google maps failed. Staff very busy as there was a wedding taking place - service might have been better under other circumstances

Review 6:Very pretty surrounding and very comfortable rooms

Review 7:The ambiance of this very distinctive hotel, its emphasis on wellbeing and the atmosphere amongst the (mostly) young staff. The grounds are beautifully looked after and the whole hotel exudes conviction and pride in what it is providing.

Review 8:If you have a sports car, be wary that the roads around are either unmade gravel tracks, or very poor. Need to drive very carefully!

Review 9:Location was perfect. Its in a fantastic setting. Very well organised and run.Lovely food in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent. Local town a very interesting place with good restaurants.

Review 10:No kitchen pots or pans and only one pasta dish for three people. Would have liked a comfortable seating area, chair or small sofa.

Review 11:The views were breathtaking. Set in vineyards and olive groves. A little out of the way, but worth it.

Review 12:The food in the resort's restaurant was very poor, which view was shared by our entire party. Even the pizzas were bad, which is pretty hard in Italy: small with a tremendously thick base and crust, swimming with a bitter uncooked tomato sauce and very light on the toppings. There was no alternative food-wise, so despite our otherwise positive experience here, we will not be returning to this location - the quality of the restaurant was an enormous and very material flaw!

Review 13:No bath on our suite/At busy weekend there was not enough sun umbrellas at the pool// the food menu at afternoon a bit boring.. Beside that everything was excellent!!!

Review 14:Great pool /comfortable&design room with great access to yard..very convenient with small kids/great breakfast & very exclusive restaurant for evening diner with great location / perfect surrounding gardens & vineyards

Review 15:Rude chick (the one with the overplucked eyebrows) at reception. A dozen or so flies in our room. I asked reception about it, they just said ''it's nature". I would expect housekeeping to either keep the door shut while cleaning or get rid of all the "nature" in this expensive room before the guests arrive.

Review 16:Location location location beautiful rolling hills, a vineyard. I'd like to live there. Lovely food at the lakeside restaurant.

Review 17:Nothinh

Review 18:Everything. Location was tranquil and beautiful. Accommodation was superb. Breakfast fantastic. Restaurant excellent. Staff very friendly.

Review 19:The breakfasts were the only slight disappointed- very busy and crowded- such a contrast to the overall ambience of resort. I feel a much better designed breakfast system is required- larger, more spacious. Also breakfast food could have been better with more choice. Staff were so rushed at breakfast that service suffered. Also, location is very rural but we liked that but car essential.

Review 20:Surroundings- absolutely beautiful; vineyard; stone buildings; views; grounds- all fantastic; beautiful walks. Staff were good Food at pool- delicious Pool- so nice Restaurant- amazing in a truly beautiful setting surrounded by 3 lakes.

Review 21:problems with the water, we couldn't use the bathroom for a day and we had to ask on the reception for information. The restaurant has no airco, very warm to have dinner. You need a car, pretty far from Urbino

Review 22:location, friendly staff, decoration, quiet, nice view Urbino is beautiful

Review 23:Nothing really, but the pillows could be softer, no food at the resort in the evening (use nearby restaurant).

Review 24:Relaxing athmosphere, beautiful location, great rooms individually styled, really service oriented and helpful staff

Review 25:This place was amazing - it met all of our needs and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Only a half hour from the beach, 15 minutes from Urbino, and beautiful views and pool and spa at the resort. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the dinner restaurant and the pool bar. The staff was very accommodating.

Review 26:The bedrooms are not insulated at all so it is very difficult to sleep as the acoustics amplify every little movement and noises from the neighbours or people moving and talking on the landing. So bring your earplugs!

Review 27:The property is absolutely beautiful, a typical Italian vineyard with a little swimming pool and beautiful trees everywhere

Review 28:Nothing really!

Review 29:Great remote location with the most friendly people ever. We really had the best service. Beautifull gardens , nice swimming pool and beautiful views. And don't forgot to eat at the restaurant nearby at the small lake.

Review 30:The restaurant for lunch/dinner is a 10/15 minute walk down a gravelly hill. At times this was enjoyable pre & post dinner, but it ruled out wearing heels in the evening, & it's pretty dark walking home, I'm not sure I'd want to do it alone, even though it's all on the estate grounds, albeit you can apparently ask for lifts both ways from staff...

Review 31:Gorgeous rooms, amazing views, friendly staff, wonderful food, relaxing massages. Heavenly smells from the herb garden. Can't really fault it. Stayed as part of a retreat but would happily return for a long weekend, individually, or as a couple

Review 32:If non-Italian speaking ensure that you get proper directions to the resort. Once there the staff were very helpful, the location was very relaxing, and the restaurant (a car drive away) was well worth a visit, or two.

Review 33:No screens on the bedroom windows forced us to keep the bugs out by keeping the windows shut on a very warm night

Review 34:Grounds, pool, views, restaurant for dinner terrific. We were upgraded to a modified apt at no extra charge. The apt could use updating

Review 35:While the restaurant is good it is the only one for miles around which isn't a problem if you are only staying two nights which we were.

Review 36:The roses were outstanding and the price very fair.

Review 37:Nothing has been spared on renovating the properties that make up this estate. Itt's a novel idea to have to walk between properties for breakfast, and for dinner, but one that works. First class restaurant in a beautiful setting overlooking a small lake. The staff were attentive and not obtrusive.

Review 38:Cost of the Spa for guests €30 Euros entry.

Review 39:Location & grounds of the hotel. Breakfast room was relaxing with excellent service. The restaurant was superb with a very good menu & quality food.

Review 40:A little bit far for Urbino if that is the main purpose of your trip

Review 41:This resort is in the worderful contryside of Marche region. You can relax with a spa which contains a sauna and swimming pool. Breakfast is extremely good with homemade products. This place is a pearl you can t miss it

Review 42:The property was beautiful and everything was well maintained. The room was very large with a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. We had an area outside the room that had two chairs to relax. Although it was winter, we were still able to walk around the property. The staff was very professional and caring. I will return to this resort in the future!

Review 43:We weren't informed about the resort services (like biking, riding horses, spa, etc) at any point. We didn't know, for example, that we had to make an appointment and pay (30 euro/person) to use the spa area, and only found out about it when we ask at the reception. So basically you're paying for a very nice hotel, but if you want the 'resort services' you will have to pay an extra for it.

Review 44:The whole place is wonderful and very cosy. We stayed at the "Lavanda" room and it was great! The landscape is beautiful and the farm is not very far from the city centre (although I think it is not reachable if you don't have a car). Breakfast was one of the bests I've ever had, with local fresh products.

Review 45:Shower head did not stay on place, sliding down all the time. Difficult to figure out how the lights worked. Resort is quite far from anything. We could hear upstairs guests as rooms produce echo.

Review 46:Peaceful setting with beautiful views, including a spa. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 47:The service wasn't quite as on the ball as a hotel. The staff didn't seem that bothered that the wifi in my room didn't work all week - and said it was to do with the weather. The walk to the hotel restaurant was quite far, but a nice route. Difficult in bad weather in the dark though. Fewer veggie options than I would have liked and were told the better veggie options were out of season, although my friends in a larger group eating that night were given them. My meat eating friend loved his food though. It is more set up as a summer venue.

Review 48:Great place. Like a little holiday resort. We went in a cloudy week in October, and wished it had been a sunny week in the summer as the pool and grounds were amazing. The furnishings were all of good quality and taste. Nice breakfast each morning. The drive in from Ancona wasn't too hairy. Near to Urbino and San Marino. Nice spa treatments.

Review 49:Most amazing hotel in a beautiful mountainous landscape, quietly located in the fenced area with high security and birdsong. Lovely historic buildings and gardens dating back to monastery. Adult, intermediate and children's pool. Super comfortable beds in beautiful rooms tastefully established in ancient buildings. Very professional helpful staff. Breakfast had everything you could wish for. Warmest recommendations!

Review 50:No airco working, arrogant staff at overpriced restaurant, hotel staff not client oriented, noisy fusebox in room, you can hear neighbours very clearly at everything they do. You are warned skip this place.

Review 51:Not much

Review 52:Restaurant can be booked out for weddings and there are very limited alternatives. Bar very quiet, we were the only ones to use it in the evening as far as we could see.

Review 53:The Estate white wine! Restaurant by the lake was the best of the entire trip. Good base location for visiting the area if you are seeking a quiet base in the evening.

Review 54:name urbino resort is a bit misleading (it's not fault of the resort) but it is 20 min. drive to urbino and there is not much to do close to the resort

Review 55:beautiful landscape nice setting, old buildings but with modern comfort, excellent breakfast beautiful pool nice restaurant at the lake

Review 56:Very difficult to find if you are coming from Urbino (or Roma). The postal address suggests it is in Urbino but in fact it is in the village of Pantiere 11km NNW of the city. Staff on reception were doing their jobs on sufferance - no friendly approach and no information offered as a matter of course. If we hadn't been told about it by the person in Urbino who gave us directions to the site we wouldn't have known they had a restaurant. Cleaners were full of the joys; other staff did their jobs perfunctorily. Always had to go looking for staff to order drinks. Bar area was dead.

Review 57:Superb setting in the hills north of Urbino with great views of the Le Marche countryside Good pool Breakfast was fresh but not exciting

Review 58:Fantastic place for a relaxing break, off the beaten track. Very relaxing, great facilities both inside and out. Restaurant is good, Pizzeria at the end of the road too which is incredibly good value.

Review 59:Some rooms in one of the annexes are not up to standard in terms of furniture + have a spiral staircase that makes access to the upper part very difficult.Try to avoid these rooms!

Review 60:Resort looks like a small village, perfectly integrated into the environment. Wonderful views of hills and vineyards. Total relaxation

Review 61:hidden place, very difficult to find, accessible only by private car by an extremely bad dust-road. ( was a real problem with our low sports-car). Distance to Urbino much further than expected: ca. 15 km of winding mountain-road.

Review 62:Wonderful gardens and pool, various breakfast buffet, very good restaurant. Rooms are beautifully furnished in modern design ,nice to look at but not always practical: No Sofa or chair in the room but unusable round tabouret, free standing bathtub unusable for shower. Good for people searching calm, comfort and relax. Not ideal for handicapped persons.

Review 63:Difficult to find (it is situated some distance from Urbino!). Attic room with spiral staircase lacked emergency exit. Limited information about breakfast, restaurant etc. at check-in.

Review 64:Elegant, well-maintained property with stunning views over the countryside. Excellent restaurant within the premises (800 meters away by car or on foot). Nice pool area with small bar. Fine breakfast.

Review 65:Mitt Romney

Review 66:The beautiful gardens, the restaurant overlooking the small lake where you could feed the carp pieces of bread form your dining table and watch them swarm and splash in the twilight.

Review 67:6AM watering noise climatisation lack of automation (need the reception's help for tunning) foutrh bed wasn't great

Review 68:the swimming pool the bathroom of all colors the panormic view (360) the breakfirst dog's facilities

Review 69:The hotel rooms are way too expensive. We had the following technical problems: shower door dropped off from the rails, shower valve handle dropped off, phone did not work and it was not changed or repaired despite of the request, a/c can only be turned on by the staff, the room door was everything but sound proof, but luckily there were no noisy neighbours.

Review 70:The staff is very friendly and they speak good english compared to most hotels in italy. The hotel locates in a very beautiful place. The nearby restaurant is brilliant, although service was quite slow. Breakfast is the best that i have experienced in italy (roughly 10 different hotels).

Review 71:Wonderful resort in a wonderful place! Very stylish and comfortable room, excellent breakfast, garden and resort managed with a special attention to all details...

Review 85:The pool area was ver relaxing

Review 86:Restaurant was one of the worst I have been to in Italy.

Review 114:Ideal holiday resort, very comfortable, well designed, very nice location, very friendly and helpful staff

Review 115:Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, staff extremely nice, beautiful location and a peaceful surrounding all around

Review 116:I thought I could get to this resort by public transportation but I couldn't. I wanted to go to '' Terme di Raffaello''(hot spring) before going to the resort so that I tried to go there by bus(Number C/S) . I could reach near there but it was still far way from bus stop...I couldn't find any taxi around there. Fortunately, the bus stop's neighbor(Chinese family) helped me to bring to the resort.Anyway,I gave up to go to hot spring. I recommend you to get taxi from Pesaro station. It cost 35euro-40euro.(40mins) It's expensive but you should go! It is a fantastic resort!!!

Review 117:It was a fantastic place. I arrived at 10AM and I walked around a grapes farm and relaxed at organic bar beside a pool before checking in. So beautiful to spend a time there! I took a dinner at restaurant, the food were fabulously wonderful especially,VEAL steak with Foie Gras, Raisin, spinach and black truffle. Moreover, they sell organic product. I bought some wine, pasta sauce, shampoo, conditioner, body scrub and so on! In addition, there is Spa. I took 1.5hours massage and relaxed. Everything were perfect even though I was alone.

Review 118:Excellent place and resort.Good facilities, kids loved the pool. Our special compliments go to guy with glasses (sry I dont remember your name), he was very helpful and competent.

Review 119:It can be very tricky finding it as the sat-nav could not identify thelocation, and the directions on the Web were not good enough. I wouldhighly encourage the owners to improve their directions.

Review 120:A truly beautiful hotel in a very tranquil environment. Everything wasgreat. I have no negative comments other than the difficulty finding it.

Review 121:Urbino Resort is fantastic, a great location and excellent facilities. The gardens and pool are lovely and the food in the restaurant by the lake is both outstanding and great value. Staff all also very friendly and helpful.

Review 122:Everything was just perfect; garden with spices, the swimming pool, thesurroundings, the interior,... There was nothing we missed at breakfast, just wonderful.

Review 123:Everything about this place is great: surroundings, views, garden, room, breakfast, tranquility, cleanliness, accessibility, design, helpfulness of the staff... I can't think of a single thing about this resort that would be any shorter of excellent.
