Reviews for Postillion Hotel Deventer
Review 1:Bed was very uncomfortable. Pillow was like a bag of foam chips. Tv wasold tube type.
Review 2:Very nice hotel overall. Great for the Dickens Festival. Staff were veryaccommodating.
Review 3:The beds and pillows were very soft and uncomfortable to sleep. There was some draft from the window.
Review 4:The location and the common areas. Room was clean.
Review 5:Furniture room was outdated. Musty smell when entering room and bathroom.
Review 6:Hotel has a modern ambiance. Excellent breakfast. Electric charger for car available.
Review 7:We missed an electric socket next to the twin bed on the bathroom side. For instance: we each like to keep our celphones on our own bedside table and not to have to walk over to the desk to load our Phone.(I already told the receptionist about this matter)
Review 8:very friendly staff; beautifull breakfast, although we do not eat much, it is nice to have such a broad choice. The rooms on the backside have a most pleasant view.
Review 9:the pillows were too soft. Next time we will bring our own.
Review 10:Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and good coffee Close to center of town
Review 11:Rooms needed renovation - cupboard was broken in our first room. Bathroom smelt musty and mouldy. Some traffic noise from motorway and fast food outlet.
Review 12:Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Reception and restaurant area much more attractive than the rooms.
Review 13:Rather miserable bar staff, who showed no interest in customers. We waited a long time to be served each time and the staff's attitude was nonchalant and indifferent. Lobby, lounge, bar and restaurant areas have all been recently and very nicely refurbed. Our room was very old and tired, the bathroom was clean but stained and mouldy.
Review 14:the reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. We arrived by canoe and needed somewhere to store them, the bike sheds were full so the receptionist unlocked a storage cage for and allowed us to store them In there. She was very busy but took time to help us out and was very pleasant.
Review 15:As other reviewers have said, the rooms are a little dated the beds are soft and the carpets grubby. In need of refurbishment!!
Review 16:The bathroom was Ok. The restaurant was quite good. Very convenient location, just off the motorway. Plenty of parking.
Review 17:Overall stay fantastic however some of the staff were very grumpy and not very welcoming as this was a minority it did not spoil our stay and wold definitely recommend to others
Review 18:Cleanliness and modern feel excellent facilities including free wifi and food was fantastic
Review 19:The lights of the parking lot are very intense (good to prevent thieves getting something out of your car, or taking the whole thing), but the curtains did not completely close, which could be corrected I believe.
Review 20:We absolutely loved the people of the hotel. They were friendly, very service orientated and efficient. Good little bar with great staff and nice choice of wines.
Review 21:Rooms are small, too small for the price. Lighting in the room is very cold. I had the "upgraded room" but it wasn't very luxurious. Sounds from the hallway easy penetrate the room; especially the opening and closing of other doors adjacent to the hall (I'm sure that can be fixed). The mattrass was way to soft for my taste. In all, the price/quality is not correct for this hotel. I decided not to stay another night.
Review 22:Next to the highway, night porter was very helpful, free coffees in the lobbies (good!). Hotel was clean and I had a room away from the parking lot, looking out on some trees, which was good.
Review 23:A small remark: although the (bath)rooms are good, they should be slightly larger to be ideal. In the bathroom e.g. you miss places to put your things on.
Review 24:We stayed two nights in a comfort room. It was a recently renovated room with large twin beds (lits jumeaux) on the second floor at the backside of the hotel. The only sound we heard with an open window at night was from birds on the water near the hotel. We slept very well. Fine breakfast. Dinner, what we have used once, was well. Outside there are plenty of parking facilities in front of the hotel. In order to avoid any annoyance, we recommend for a few euro's more - as we did - to take a comfort room at the backside.
Review 25:Very nice hotel, helpful and kind personel and healthy and tasty food. Istayed there for one night only during a business trip but the hotel haseverything you need in during this kind of stay - high speed wi-fi,tasty food, clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 26:No hairdryer in room matress was too soft, it was made of foam (not memory foam though)
Review 27:decor in the room floor, no horrible carpet staff was very helpful and friendly the breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and atmosphere was brilliant
Review 28:Slightly out of town and oriented towards business use but on a Friday evening there was more leisure use than business use. The site is somewhat unattractive (with a McDonalds 100m away) but the hotel itself is modern and stylish. The supper menu did not inspire confidence but the meal proved to be excellent. WiFi reception throughout was first class. Very good value for money.
Review 29:The hotel was very full this past week-end and breakfast-hour was really very crowded. The already used breakfasttables were not immediately cleaned, it took more than half an hour for the staff to clean used tables for new occupants. They are clearly understaffed to serve breakfast and also the (only one) employée charged with cleaning tables appeared unobservant and he was also very slow. And last but not least: There is but one coffee machine for the breakfast buffet, so there were really endless queues to get your morning coffee, I think had had to wait 15 minutes for our turn. I have by the way given these comments also to the reception upon departure.
Review 30:The lounge, the restaurant etc. are very nice and roomy and the communal facilities (like the reading table and the library in the lounge on the first floor) are exceptionally welcoming and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and courtuous and helpfull.
Review 31:No AC in the room. The rooms are not really a the latest achievement of design ...
Review 32:Not too far from the center, although you probably need a bike or a car. Free parking. Convenient for exploring the region. Excellent breakfast, although the quality varied from day to day.

Review 89:Straff, interior decoration, roomlayout and cleanliness. Easy access andwalking distance to city center free wifi and with good speed
Review 90:Nothing - book it!
Review 91:A perfect off-the-motorway business/leisure stop. Generous room, good breakfast, quiet, easy to find, even has a McDonalds adjacent if you don't fancy the hotel restaurant!
Review 92:Distance from the centre of Deventer. It was a longer walk than indicated by staff. Little around the hotel itself.
Review 93:Convenient to motorway, very business link reception area for business meetings etc
Review 94:Even though there was a reservation via booking.com, arriving at the hotel there was no record of the reservation, apparently due to communication issues between booking.com and the hotel. Luckily there was a room available and the front desk was kind enough to meet the reservation requirements.
Review 95:The hotel is really good
Review 96:McDonalds just outside the hotel gathets a lot of young people and they bring quite much disturbance. If you want to eat after 10 in the evening and the kitchen is already closed, you will get surprized by the fact that the McDonalds is also closed except for the drive-in. However it is better to take a trip to beautiful Deventer and get a bite at one of the many restaurants around the town square.
Review 97:Stylish hotel in the outskirts of Deventer. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking just outside the hotel. Breakfast is very good as well as the restaurant in the evening. Great value for your money.
Review 98:Room decoration is dated. Breakfast not included in the deal.
Review 99:Hotel reception and restaurant decoration are modern and stylish. Diner and breakfast were really good, friendly staff and view on a lake from my room (nr 105). Clean room. Very big parking.
Review 100:I stayed here during the Dickens festival whick takes place in December. I understand it's normally a business hotel, but for this festival they open their doors specifically for those that will be attending the festival. They did a perfect job! We were welcomed with a drink on the house and they served a great dinner with a choir singing Christmas carols in the background. In the morning they served a wonderful buffet breakfast and took care of bringing us to the festival in the city centry by bus. As part of the deal you also get access to the festival via a VIP-entrance! I was really satisfied with their service and they made our stay very pleasurable!
Review 101:The rooms are extremely outdated and the bathroom was not clean. The bed was very poor. Not a good value for money. They seem to be rebuilding most of the hotel though, so things might improve in the future.
Review 102:Breakfast was good.
Review 103:The check-in was messy, especially the creditcard payments werer veryunclear. I had to show my creditcard 3 times.
Review 104:The location, close to the reason of my stay and close to thecity centre
Review 105:Roomsize was ok, comfort: bbed too soft and room smelles and looked a bit used. Otherwise very nice personal, very helpful and good location close to motorway.
Review 106:It was puzzling that some rooms had tea and coffee making facilities and some did not, depending on the room rate. All rooms should have this facilitity, as it is a small item.
Review 107:The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The quality of the food, in particular the buffet breakfast, was excellent. The surroundings were pleasant and our room was quiet.
Review 108:There were problems with servicing the room one day. Hotel had had problems with the contractor. This was sorted and apologised for.
Review 109:Staff were attentive and friendly. Good breakfast
