Reviews for Casa De La Flora
Review 1:Pool is rather small (but hardly ever crowded). There is a beach at low tide (morning/day) but at high tide in the evening the beach is gone. Most places to eat in the town nearby are very touristy and European based. Not a lot of good local Thai options within walking distance.
Review 2:Staff was extremely friendly, spa was great, room was amazing. Lots of places nearby to pick up groceries and snacks very cheap. Great views of the ocean and sunsets. Lots of things to do through the hotel such as excursions, yoga, thai boxing classes etc. Also, lots of promotions at the hotel restaurant such as happy hours, free drinks, free snacks etc. Minibar in room is free and filled every day!
Review 3:The the room is always on the sun, it gets really hot and the air conditioning is positioned right at the bed so you are either too hot or too hot, so wouldn't go back even though its a great place.
Review 4:Nothing! Everything was perfect!
Review 5:Everything about our time there was perfect! We couldn't have dreamtof a better honeymoon. The staff at the hotel was the kindest, friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered at any hotel. The studio we stayed at was sensational! Extremely clean and cozy. Thebed was huge and so comfortable... The bath, the shower, the amenities, everything was amazing! The pool, the breakfasts, the cocktails, thesunset, the cocktails, the service, the cocktails...The location isideal. Just 5 minutes walk to Khao Lak village where there are plenty ofrestaurants to choose from. The whole vibe added to my wife and I havingour best holiday ever!
Review 6:Very modern and fancy design, the staff was super friendly and greeted my husband and myself by name all the time. We would absolutely recommend to stay there for people who want to get away from the bustling city and spend a few days in absolute peace
Review 7:The warmth hospitality can be felt even at the airport when we both were pick up by our driver. The beautiful smiles of the staffs at the front desk greeted us makes both of us feel so welcome. Although our room wasn't ready when we arrived, we were handled by the staffs with professionalism . After that we both were brought personally to the room and we both were so impressed by it even though ours was just a studio. i come from the service industry and i must say all the staffs right down to the housekeepers they have a passion for service in them. Hence all this contribute to the success of Casa. I will definitely come back again in the future to stay with Casa!
Review 8:Small touches seemed to be amiss. 1. Breakfast - all open air, but no form of cooling, not even ceiling or standing fans. This was quite uncomfortable in humid April weather in Khao Lak 2. We were in a 2-bed pool duplex - however 'pool' cannot be used to describe what is essentially a jacuzzi. Further there was almost no sunlight coming into the jacuzzi, it was very dark, so we didnt feel like using it. View from top floor was totally obstructed. Highly modern rooms but somehow you felt this resort could have been designed better - our room design did not take into account sunlight or the natural surrounds in any way. 3. Air conditioner was extremely loud and disturbed our sleep. 4.Booking has to be Ocean view - rooms without ocean view are bereft of sunlight
Review 9:1. Fabulous choice of toiletries presented at check-in - a nice touch and these really were a pleasure to bathe in 2. Pleasant staff 3. Relaxed, adult ambience to this hotel 4. Very nice shower in duplex room
Review 10:I requested for bike rental several time when i arrived and i mentioned that i need to rent bike in my reservation before my check in but they kept saying its fully booked!? Also, the resort doesn't offer any free or paid shuttle to thr city center comparing to the other 4 and 5 stars hotel in the same area and extremy cheaper than casa de la flora The breakfast was very limied comparing other 4 and 5 stars and you had to request it from menu not collect it as usual the location is not good at all as they are located on the beach but the resort design did not consider the beach, and to access to the beach you need to use side poor concrete stair case to go below the resort level by 4 meter and to land on the beach sand with maximum 2-3 meter away of the water The resort doesn't have mini market or any facility to sell any kind of stuff like water, all kind of drinks, snaks, skin care products..etc! Reception was extremly poor and not sence and the security guard who picked up our bags! even we had to request for wet towels on arrival as it was very hot that time Gym was there to prove that the have gymnasium! It is under in the basement without any view!!! No ironing in room and you need to request it whenever you need it! Honestly, its one time experience resort unless they reduce the prices by 50%; truly
Review 11:Mostly every thing is good Spa was amazing Villa was very laxuar and modern
Review 12:We found ourselves trying to get attention from the waiters for several minutes at an almost empty restaurant. There is a beautiful view of the ocean but the beach in front of the hotel cannot be enjoyed as such (there is a concrete wall built to elevate the hotel from the sea level) Only at sunset does the ocean retreat enough to get some sand but still the feeling of the concrete wall right behind you is not my idea of beach relaxation. The hotel organizes a free-transfer to a sister hotel to go to the beach though but we didn't get a chance to check it out. All rooms have huge windows facing the ocean, but the glass is not polarized in any way (you can see everything happening inside the room) and the hotel is designed in such a way that guests and the security people walk constantly in front of the rooms (and the security guard would look into our room each time he walked past!) meaning you have to choose between enjoying the ocean view or having some intimacy. Big minus!
Review 13:Cool design and architecture. The private swimming pool in our room was superb and we watched the sunset from our room everyday. The room is super modern and the design is very cool. There is an espresso machine and a fridge with juices, drinks and even champagne for free everyday, we loved this detail. The swimming pools are chemical-free (they clean them with some O3 treatment) and we were gladly surprised about how good it feels. We were there beginning of May and the temperature was just perfect all the time, could spend hours there!
Review 14:IT system didn't always work. Would rather wine than beer choice in mini bar set up but that's personal!
Review 15:Let me see - staff, private pool, villa, cooking class, restaurants, spa, bar, view, quietness and so much more!
Review 16:Everything you need for a good rest. Comfort, privacy, excellent service and good food. Beautiful beach, swimming pool, greenery and flowers. Nearby restaurants, bars and shops. If you can afford it at least once in the life visit Casa de la Flora.
Review 17:hotel is elevated and access to beach is only available by stairs with no possibility of lying down as water reaches up to the stairs
Review 18:spa, beach front villa view, staff, food
Review 19:The gym was too small - you couldn't use it when you wanted to if t here were other people there. I also thought breakfasts were nit great. No fresh juice, the most awful looking hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict. Spa treatment was okay, not great. Internet was not reliable the whole time.
Review 20:The rooms were excellent- every amenity you could possibly need
Review 21:Nothing!
Review 22:What was there not to like! The bed was heavenly huge, as too was the bath, the private pool was a perfect spot for cooling off when the main pool got a bit crowded (generally only 4 ppl at a time there anyway), and the staff could not be more accommodating for any request. We will be back!
Review 23:Food in the restaurant in the evening
Review 24:Sea View Villa accomodation. Complimentary mini bar is a plus.
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:We loved everything about the hotel, the friendly staff, the food, the amenities of the resort, room was gorgeous!
Review 27:This is the best hotel we have stayed in & we have travelled a lot.The staff were amazing, every staff member we came in contact with nomatter their job were excellent, friendly & helpful. The resortitself is immaculate, clean & well looked after. The pool isexcellent with wonderful sea views. The food - breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails was excellent! Our villa was amazing, clean, excellentfacilities, well kept, great layout & the extras such as thecomplimentary mini bar, snacks, sandwiches, cocktail night, live band, sparkling wine with breakfast plus an al a carte menu & activitiessuch as kayaking really made our stay an incredible one. Plus the staffwent out of their way to make our stay for our honeymoon specialincluding a bouquet of roses, filling the bath with rose petal & acomplimentary bottle of Champagne on arrival. The location is about 10minutes walk into the main town but there are many places to eat &drink closer. This hotel is right on a fabulous beach, great forswimming or walking along as the sun is setting & the tide is out.Breakfast overlooking the beach each morning was a wonderful start toeach perfect day we had at Casa.
Review 28:Our room was close to the restaurant and there was noise from some kitchen fans.
Review 29:The size of the resort was ideal. Not too large but large enough to have a good restaurant. The swimming pool enclosure was small but private and relaxing. The proximity to the village and market was good. The room was generously sized.
Review 30:Not much sand at the beach left, with the sea edge slowing creeping up to the retaining wall constructed in front of the property... unfortunately they can't do much about the encroaching ocean now. Actual ocean is lovely to swim in however there isn't much sand; this is different than the photos posted on their site and promotional materials and I'm guessing is a more recent necessary change.
Review 31:Brillant architecture Perfect pool Friendly, helpful staff Great breakfast and quality food
Review 32:Not a dislike per se, but the region is somewhat remote from the nearestinternational airport; we were well aware of this and it was not aproblem to us but it is something to keep in mind.
Review 33:This place spoils you! We haver never experienced a more welcomingstaff. The facilities were amazing, the duplex villa we stayed in waslike taken out of Architectural Digest (and everything workedperfectly, which is not a given in such a customized structure). Theambience in the bar/restaurant area facing the surf was amazingboth for breakfast and sunset drinks - and both food and cocktails weretop notch. And while the surrounding area is, let's say, in development, there were actually some real restaurant gems if you search a bit! For a good round of tropical R&R, I can highly recommend this.
Review 34:Everything! This is the best hotel we've stayed in. Everything was to the highest standard, the service from the team, the quality of the room and interior, the spa, the pool, the food. The list is endless. We were celebrating our honeymoon and my birthday and the team went to great lengths to make it special. Wine on arrival, a romantic bath had been run on our behalf and a bunch of flowers were waiting for me. The team also helped my husband arrange a romantic dinner for my birthday which was amazing with a card, cocktail and birthday cake as well from the staff. They made a real fuss of us which was lovely. We loved the hotel and can't wait to go back. I can't recommend this hotel enough.
Review 35:Best hotel I ever stayed in. Everything is perfect thanks to Ms. Jewelryand the wonderful staff! Tour guides are so professional too withreasonable prices.
Review 36:food could be better. though it was the best restaurant in KhaoLak
Review 37:Very stylish Absolute privacy Duplex grand pool villas are way better than duplex pool suites. Service!! Wifi
Review 38:The only coment I would make is that the dinner service can be a bitlong but the place is beautifull and the staff makes the waitingtime pleasant
Review 39:It was my third stay at this hotel and I have waited this 3rd experienceto make comments. It is really a fantastic place, the design of thehotel and rooms, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, thegreat food make this place unique. It is very surprising to find such aplace in the Khao Lak environment which is not that great socongratulation to the team behind this project
Review 40:relatively small service staff: no beach or pool service some days, but could walk up to restaurant and order for delivery DreamMaker (concierge) mostly a dream: did not see him after our evening arrival for the next 3 days, and then we left, so completely useless; no back-up concierge, and front-desk staff knew nothing about the area, not even when the dream would resume and the DreamMaker might appear don't expect to have any meaningful conversations in anything other than Thai, even about the contents of the house special cocktail (ask staff, it says on the menu, but you have to figure out which one staff -- Poo -- knows that it's peppermint-candy-infused vodka, and that the others will just come up with answers that are both unintelligible and incorrect) 2 years old now, the bare concrete has many patches, will see how this type of construction holds up in the climate short-short bathrobes, looked cute on my 5'5" wife, but definitely left my balls hanging out movies provided on the entertainment system (Mac Mini's) are free, but they appear to be pirated. Boo! One of our 2 systems never worked (so no music or anything else in the main daytime area, only in the bedroom) no beach at high tide, the resort is built all the way to the water; so beach chairs are on a 5-foot high barrier wall. It's nice that you don't get sandy, but don't expect to be sitting on sand watch out for the edges of the furniture (beds, sofas), they are sharp and will scrape your skin off
Review 41:beautiful place, super-friendly staff who all know your name (gets a little annoying after a while when used at the beginning of every sentence) excellent restaurant on site (with a few small misses -- Irish coffee home-made ice cream not quite perfected) New Year's blowout buffet was outrageously good (lobsters, high quality sushi/sashimi, all the meats you'd want, best on-demand cooked rice noodles ever, etc.). But it was $500 per couple, including 4 hours of sing and dance routines on a really terrible sound set, all drinks extra, even the midnight glass of champagne. And they did their countdown 4 minutes early. Seriously? But it all ended with the magic of lighting flying lanterns on the beach at midnight, joining hundreds of them in the sky, from all around, so that was fun. in-room espresso machine with free pods; free mini-bar with daily refills of fruit juices, Coke, Perrier, Heinekens, and Singha super-efficient air conditioning (probably a bit too efficient for many, the lowest level is not that low, so it either blows on you all night, or you get sticky -- kind of weird to have heavy comforters in this climate, but the A/C makes them welcome) nice little pool, with some of the lounge chairs in the pool. So Barcelona!
Review 42:no beach
Review 43:villa, friendliness of staff, breakfast choice, location
Review 44:Staff was not as English friendly as I had hoped, but wonderful people.
