Reviews for Baltic Beach Hotel & SPA

Review 1:The staff in the garden section did not seem very friendly and we missed our free cocktails included to the spa package as they were not aware. But we were happy otherwise and not in the mood to argue.

Review 2:Everything was nearly perfect from breakfast to spa section. Mostly Russian staff (intelligence factor) and the few Latvians were well trained too.

Review 3:The fact that only one poolarea is for free. The second one (which have all the saunas and also bar) costs almost as much as one nights stay (around €75 for 2 ppl). The price is crazy and really made this hotel sink in my eyes. The poolarea that is free is just standard 25m pool which you'll find in any standard swimming hall. The area was also very Soviet style which doesn't really make you relaxed. I can't stress enough about the pool situation. Do not check into this hotel if you want a pool and sauna relaxation weekend and don't want to spend up to €75 (for 2 ppl) for accessing the area.

Review 4:Baltic Beach Hotel is the legendary Soviet hotel that have the appearance of a ship/spaceship. It is without doubt the coolest architecture of any hotel I stayed at. The location couldn't be better, situated right on the Majori shore of the Baltic Sea and within walking distance to any major attraction. The outer appearance may look like a relic from Soviet times but the inside have since been repaired and rebuilt. It holds the class of a normal standard European 3-4 star hotel. No fireworks when entering the lobby but yet you can feel the atmosphere in the walls of this iconic hotel. Well worth a visit.

Review 5:Value for money - by staying overnight hotel is charging extra for visiting Spa area. just normal swimming pool was included into the overnight stay what was little bit dated in terms of premises.

Review 6:Location of the property is very nice (on long sandy Jurmala beach). Hotel room was very nice on the 7th floor we stayed. Nice and welcoming staff. Breakfast was good and with the wonderful view to the beach.

Review 7:The Spa is considered one of the best Spas in Northern Europe. In the low season you get special prices for Spa-treatments (which are excellent), so you can enjoy a Spa-day when it is too cold for a swim in the Baltic Sea. On sunny days you enjoy a walk on the beach. Excellent food!

Review 8:The elevator was cramped. Preferably we used the stairs.

Review 9:Exciting architecture. The sea view from the balcony. Bathroom accessories, bathrobe etc. The pool and sauna.

Review 10:Nothing negative or bad; again very impressed with staff, waiters, and cleanliness at breakfast.

Review 11:Vicktors very helpful at check in; also assisted with room upgrade. Breakfast and staff better than what we experienced on Cunard and Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth ship experience. GOOD JOB Baltic Hotel and Staff. Ron & Sue Hulewicz, Jupiter, Florida, USA

Review 12:I didn't like the feeling that they are trying to rip you off all the time. Bottle of water in the room costs €5 (can buy it about 20 times cheaper in shops), you have to pay for hats for the pool, the room for the kids costs €5 per hour, etc! Also, we stayed in a budget room and had a very spacious terrace. Shame we couldn't really enjoy it much, as there were only two soft chairs (wet after the rain for most of the time). Why not put there a little table and some waterproof furniture, maybe even sunbeds? Also, if only we had a kettle we could have had tea on the terrace in the evening. These little things would make our stay much more enjoyable.

Review 13:Perfect location, comfortable beds and superb breakfast. Even if staying in the budget rooms, can enjoy fantastic sunsets from the open area on 7th floor.

Review 14:More ashtrays outside hotel for smokers. Missed some schampo in the bathroom. The bacon at breakfast was not fried enough (slices together - some part not fried at all)

Review 15:Good breakfast with additional possibilties for extra orders. Helpful friendly staff. Large swimmingpool area with sauna. Nice beacharea with sunbeds and toweis and good food in the summer restaurant (also wind protected)

Review 16:We have chosen this hotel as they are advertising themselves to be one of the biggest SPA hotels in this European region. In reality there is only 1 pool (swimming cap is required) and sauna (both need renewal) with smelly dressing room in SPA area. Yes, there is also another SPA area with jacuzzi and some more saunas, but you need to pay additionally around 40 euros per person! I would expect that this another SPA area is included into expensive room rate. This is defenitely not 5 star hotel (many areas need renewal works) and not value of money. Double bed was inconvenient as it consisted of 2 twin bed. Room was cold and heating system was not working. I wouldn't stay there again.

Review 17:Great location with private beach and comfortable sunbeds.

Review 18:Hotel in the previous century. The price does not meet the service. In Jurmala is better hotels and good prices hotels, therefore very not recommended.

Review 19:Location on the beach

Review 20:Housekeeping awful. Food wasn't nice at all in breakfast. Not enough towels in the room, very thin and did not look clean.

Review 21:Nice, friendly staff on a beach.

Review 22:Generally room's interior, bathroom are not for 5-star. They are mostly for 4-star grade. The public lap pool needs for renovation. Balcony door in the room is the subject to be fixed. But the sea and peacful environment reimburse any of smal minuses.

Review 23:Exclusive hotel placement, friendly staff, good breakfast, spa diversity, quiet room, nice hotel's restaurants and the culmination - symphony orcestra in Dzintary concert hall 5 minutes walk away.

Review 24:Perfect location, staff is very helpful . Room was very clean , air con working perfectly well. Private beach was nice and service was close to perfect.

Review 25:Breakfast was NOT impressive- however the pancakes were very good

Review 26:The hotel is very nice and good value for money. The nearby beach is wonderful and as a guest you have free access to the sunbeds on the beach. Fitness and Spa is fine. a rowing machine would have been nice to complete the cardiovascular part of the Gym

Review 27:Travelled with two kids (10 and 3) - a room is big enough to put extra bed. Small kid slept with us on a big king size bed( 2 meters wide appr), perfect location-nice view. Good food in the restaurant.

Review 28:way overpriced, first we were given "suite" which was a worst reminder of soviet times, but got a free upgrade to Luxury - which was a bit better with a seaview, but still ridiculous for a 5 star hotel, staff not extremely helpful, but okay

Review 29:location, lateral sea view, good restaurant

Review 30:Over rated prices, gadren spa is not included to the hotel price, You need to add each around 40EUR ,

Review 31:Hotel is clean, good location, pool, spa, good food,

Review 32:First question in reception we met was: "do you want upgrade room for 50.- EUR per night"?!?! The question was reasonable because after our answer "no" we got room in a basement, with weak ventilation and non-openable windows. For more than 100.-EUR per night very poor conditions and for more then 100 + 50 EUR so expensive ... We do not recommend.

Review 33:Good location, right on the beach.

Review 34:When we made reservation, it looked like using SPA (water relaxation area, bath complex, saunas) is for all guests. But actually we could only visit swimmingbool and one sauna. We even couldn't buy an access to SPA during a stay, it was fully booked.

Review 35:Cleanness, breakfest, location

Review 36:Indoor pool was closed for renovation.

Review 37:Located directly next to the beach. Nice view from breakfast restaurant. Kind service. WiFi worked even on the beach. Free parking.

Review 38:Baltic Beach is both 4 and 5 star hotel, so, in my opinion, thingslike reception, staff, politeness, restaurant etc. should be at a 5star level.First of all, my card was charged twice. The next day a colleague from the hotel called me, apologized and returned the money. However, that's not something you expect from a 5 star hotel. Reception. The girl was either tired or just not in her best mood. Not a single smile, no parking card for my car. It's quite easy to ask whether I need a parking card and give me one, isn't it? We were given a twin number despite the fact that double bed choise was available on booking.com and clearly indicated when booking. Funny foam stick between the beds is ok, too, but again, that's not something you expect from a 5 star hotel. When you check-in you're asked to make a deposit of 50 euros. For the mini-bar and in case you break something, I guess. It's refundable, of course, if you didn't drink or break anything or can count towards your SPA payment as well. But anyway, that's the thing the least wealthy guests should be aware of to plan their expenses.

Review 39:Breakfast at il Sole. Super fresh ciabatta, various selection of fruit, excellent service.SPA. As good as always. Definitely a 5 star level.

Review 40:everything is too much overpriced (food, beach services, rooms). Very noisy: you can freely hear neighbours what they are talking about.

Review 41:very close to the beach.

Review 42:everything super!

Review 43:Everything was perfect

Review 44:No bad experience.

Review 45:The breakfast, pool.

Review 46:Everything was extra . Good if you have the money to spend . Not so good if you are on a budget.

Review 47:Location , Location.

Review 48:Some part of stuff isn't so friendly, part of stuff doesn'tspeak English only Russian! No entertainment apart of Spa and cycling!

Review 49:Service and spa

Review 50:Location

Review 51:View from the balcony

Review 52:Too much events in hotel

Review 53:small room , very smelly , next to the genet

Review 54:beach bars

Review 55:Good food eaten on a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea with very friendly waitresses

Review 56:Quite expensive

Review 57:Beach

Review 58:There no outdoor pool.

Review 59:The location and beach are amazing!

Review 60:Snacks on the beach were quite expensive.

Review 61:This hotel was beautiful. The location was amazing and the staff were lovely. Can't wait to return!

Review 62:None

Review 63:Helpful staff, free wi fi available even on the beach, sumptuous breakfast, meals at Il Sole restaurant are excellent.

Review 64:Fab hotel, lovely room with balcony. Great bar staff.

Review 65:...but it is a 5 star hotel and it is unacceptable that the air conditioning wasn't working in the room.

Review 66:Very good locatiom.

Review 67:place with ideal location and very good service.good breakfast

Review 68:living on the 2 floor, because in description it was not mentioned, and wee coul not see the sea, only yard.

Review 69:breakfast, cleanliness.

Review 70:Standard room is absolutely fantastic and worth every penny.

Review 71:Double bed is actually made of two single beds with big uncomfortable gap in the middle

Review 72:Good breakfast, nice room

Review 73:STAFF IS EXTREMELY UN-POLITE AND HOTEL MANAGEMENT HAVE RIDICULOUS RULES.

Review 74:NOTHING!!!!!

Review 75:I expected that spa facilities should be included into the price of the spa hotel.

Review 76:Close to the Sea and also to other major facilities of Jurmala.

Review 77:Location on the beach View on the Baltic sea Size of the room and balcony

Review 78:The lobby, restaurants and hallways of the hotel are very nicely renovated. The room we stayed in was a Superior room. It had everything necessary to be comfortable, but it was a little on the Spartan side. There were no problems. It too was just a little bit too much of a reminder of the Soviet times, but maybe not the best things. We were comfortable. I would just book a higher level room for our next stay. It is definitely not something that would deter us from staying again!!!

Review 79:The staff was amazingly helpful. The hotel has a charm that reminds you of the good things from the Soviet times. There is a very relaxing atmosphere at the hotel that allows you to really unplug from the world if that's what you're looking for. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Review 80:Standard rooms - don't correspond to a 4* level, located on the ground floor. Had to upgrade to the main building to feel good. Pool and sauna for general guests (who do not buy the very expensive SPA programs) - one of the worst I have been to.

Review 81:Prime location, responsive staff, good service, great food. Breakfast - excellent. Very good mattress, pillows, blanket.

Review 82:Nothing really - perhaps not using incandescent lightbulbs would be a nice touch.

Review 83:It's an excellent hotel, located just next to the beach and very close to the city center. Outstanding and lavish breakfast. With swimming pool and sauna included in the standard price the hotel is a very good value for the money off season. The restaurants offer brilliant food plus a decent wine selection on top of a lovely sea view. Fast, stable and free wifi internet connection.

Review 84:The spa&wellness-area was obviously in the price not included but inthe offer you can't see that you have to pay separatly and thereception staff wasn't able give us information about this appointment-system with extra-costs. The sauna is not european-standard for 4 or 5star hotels.

Review 85:Parc&garden at the sea and also the breakfast.

Review 86:All single rooms are on the first (almost ground) level. The staff atthe reception is very busy and you have to wait for your questions tobe answered. Price for renting bicycle is twice as expensive as thecity rental.

Review 87:Great place for relaxation and enjoy yoursef. The Garden complex is thebest and I reccomend everyone to go there. Perfect location to travel bycar, train. The beach is nice.

Review 88:We've asked for a room with seaside view, but standard rooms have a park view. No slippers in the room.

Review 89:Located right on the coast. Breakfast was great. Room was clean and well equipped.

Review 90:Everything good,location,staff,breakfast etc.

Review 91:place, meal

Review 92:Everything is ok

Review 93:Service and food
