Reviews for Ramada Khao Lak Resort

Review 1:Food in the restaurants was not good. We really had to go to other restaurants for eating lunch and dinner.

Review 2:The beach and sea is just by the hotel and it's lovely.

Review 3:I had a mixed experience with my dietary requirements - I tried to explain points of cross contamination - such as I couldn't eat food from a deep fat fryer. The ladies at reception write a card In Thai to use in the restaurants. It was wrong. When I finally spoke to the chef with another interpreter I was able to ensure what came out the kitchen was edible for me. Also no one mentioned that gluten free bread was available until my last day!!! So remember to ask, as you might get!

Review 4:We had a room directly on the beach which was fantastic. It was spacious and comfortable and the location idyllic with a great view of the sea. The restaurant provided some of the lovliest food in Khao Lak and has great views of the sea.

Review 5:Everything!!! 4th visit and the best hotel in Khao lak!!!! Stayed at Marriott, la flora, sands and Sarojin and this is the best hotel! Returning December 2016

Review 6:The resort is a little too quiet in the evening.

Review 7:Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. Their friendly smiles were a highlight of our stay. Our pool villa gave us great privacy.

Review 8:On check in could have been smoother, showed us to the wrong room, hadn't checked the booking correctly, not big problem. WIFI is terrible !!!!

Review 9:Generally everything was good, breakfast etc

Review 10:No Halal food.

Review 11:We really enjoyed our stay in Ramada. The staffs are nice and very friendly. We were upgraded to bigger room which is great. The bed were beautifully decorated. The restaurant staffs even surprised me with birthday cake. We will definitely come back again! Thanks to Mille!

Review 12:There is hardly any waves in the ocean, and you cannot walk far along the beach. Also strong currents with red flag most of the time. Of course this is not the hotels fault.

Review 13:We asked for 2 connecting rooms which were arranged and perfect for our situation. The bathroom is beautiful with a nice rain shower and huge bath. Good cleaning of the rooms with flexible staff. Also good beds, very important. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of personnel walking around and they were very attentive. Very well organised. Also every day something special for breakfast. The personnel at the pool were also great, very attentive staff, laying out the towels for you on the loungers. They have a great happy hour, which attracts lots of people and gives a very nice atmosphere around the pool in the late afternoon. We asked for a taxi to transfer us to Phuket Int in the middle of the night, which they organised for us and the taxi driver was spot on time knocking on our door, helping us with the suitcases, which was really great service. Nice restaurants around, can fully recommend Jasmin. This hotel is definitely worth your money, can fully recommend.

Review 14:the wiffi does not work well. the food in the restaurants take long time to serve. the employees do not speake english well so some time is dificult to comunicate them.

Review 15:the ubication is good

Review 16:The gym is old and needs replacing. The breakfast was very average for a 4.5 star hotel - not enough choice and frequently running out of food.

Review 17:Pool and rooms were great. Good location with plenty of restaurants nearby.

Review 18:The ramada staff are very very courteous and the service is excellent. Right from the moment we checked in, they were always ready to asnwer our queries and requests with a smile on their faces. The poolside bar is nice and a good place to relax in. The restaurant has quality food. The room was very comfortable with all amenities.Overall, I would recommend this place to people anytime

Review 19:Lovely hotel, had a wonderful time in a great location. The people make this hotel, they are caring & helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them.

Review 20:Had Deluxe Lanai room. Very spacious, Room and Bathroom with all the amenities expected. Large pool and good restaurant with really nice buffet and a la carte. Pool bar serves reasonable daily eats. Very good breakfast choices. Friendly and attentive staff. Bang Niang is lovely little town and the 3 weekly market is very nice.

Review 21:We arrived at the hotel just after lunch time but got our rooms very late, one room 3 PM and the second after 5 PM. The staff told us that it was due to the fact that they had sold late check out to the prior guests. The lugage had not been sent to our room, we had to call for it. The linnen in our room was stained and had holes in them. The shower head was broken and the water in the toilet didn't stop running. WiFi in the room was useless, low or no signal. The toiletries were not replenished on a daily basis. When I called to reception and asked them to help me print my boarding passes they sent me to the coffee shop to do it myself and had the nerve to charge me 20 Bath per copy, wich i refused to pay. We had booked two double rooms, three nights, for 6,500 Bath per night, total almost 40,000 Bath, you would think they could include print outs of bording passes. I felt like I had been robbed when I checked out. No value for money at all!

Review 22:The pool area and the beach was lovely. The breakfast was OK. We really enjoyed the BBQ on the beach, specially the music provided by two fantastic musicans. The lunch by the pool was really good, (even if you had to wait 30-45 min for the food and got the main course before the starter).

Review 23:Comfortable, beautifully landscaped hotel. Excellent breakfasts. Large swimming pool on the beach. Bicycles, fitness, good internet. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops near the hotel. A taxi rank, scooter rentals. Beautiful beach. Number of sunbeds at the pool and beach sufficient. Villas on the beach perfect.

Review 24:The room was nice but we didn't find anything what tells you that you aren't in Europe but in Thailand (the decorations I mean). The doors are black everywhere and so dirty you can see the fingerprints. Not satisfied with some of the staff on the reception (by our arrival nobody went to say even "bye" to us it's like you go so we don't care anymore. Some staff should be trained more to improve their English because sometimes even for your room number you should write it by yourself.

Review 25:The location just great! The pool, beach and relaxing atmosphere! The staff is helpful in general, especially Toh. Close to the hotel you will find everything you need, market (really nice and characteristic places, Spas, restaurants, etc)

Review 26:hotel restaurant prices could be more competitive with local restaurants and beach bars.

Review 27:Stunning hotel with extremely friendly staff. The pool was a big hit with the family. The location was great, with lovely restaurants in walking distance. Would 100% recommend this hotel and we hope to go back soon.

Review 28:The wifi was slow. Sometimes we noticed a seward smell in the hotels bathrooms.

Review 29:Always smiling, serviceminded and helpful staff, great location - many restaurants located close to the hotel (food street), great breakfast, good hotel restaurant - we enjoyed many meals there. It was not allowed to reserve sunbeds and this policy was followed up by the hotel staff - good job :-)

Review 30:Nothing special

Review 31:The hotel is rather small, but excellent atmosphere. All the staffs are friendly, especially for small baby. Local markets and restaurants are located in a few minutes distance.

Review 32:Treatments were to expensive, walk down the beach and it's a quarter of the price!

Review 33:We only strayed once from the hotel, as food was great there, staff super helpful, we has a beach BBQ with live music, really good food, good breakfasts and there is a gym.

Review 34:The mark up on the minibar items was excessive. Front reception staff didn't explain why we were waiting for our room so long and were quite rude. The cost of extra beds also seems a bit excessive.

Review 35:Clean rooms, spacious settings, top buffet breakfast with very fresh ingredients. Great cupcake decorating class for kids and various other interesting activities. Fun and friendly pool bar staff.

Review 36:I find that the beach itself has turned to the worse. It used to be a short walk to some very nice local beach restaurants with sunbeds etc, but that is now gone since the authorities have decided to demolish them all. THis is of course not the hotel's fault but it does bring down my points for the hotel location. The beach is now desolate and full of rubbish and debris from the demolished restaurants. They never removed them, only pulled them down. I know for a fact that many of those people who used to ran those places were locals who had survived the tsunami, which wrecked the lives of so many a decade ago along these beaches, so it actually is quite a sad story altogether. The beach needs cleaning up from what we saw in September 2014.

Review 37:Good and quiet rooms and especially the beds and pillows are great, which is the best indicator of a good hotel. The pool and its pool and bar staff is excellent. Everyone is very attentive. The wifi works well even out to the sunbeds near the beach. Breakfast is still quite good compared to a few years back, lots of varieties and I know I ate too much. Try the Japanese restaurant Enzo further up the road, I am not really a fan of Japanese food, but I was impressed with the excellent service and food here. Try also the Green Pepper near the Bang Niang market, and do try their Tom Yum Cocktail (not on the menu) if you like something with some bite to it. Food stalls at the market three times a week are great. Nice that it is just a short walk to this market, as this is many tourists come each week having to go by other means of travelling. Too bad the best restaurant, The Candle close to the main road, has now turned into yet another massage parlour (although quite a nice one).

Review 38:Not Much. Pictures of the beach maybe a bit misleading but not an issue worth writing about. We thought that the garden maintenance was a bit neglected but again not something we see as much of a negative.

Review 39:The Ramada Khao Lak resort is in the perfect location to allow enough local content time and be in reach of other attractions locally. We found it extremely relaxing due to being off the beaten track i.e. compared with Phuket and other tourist destinations in Thailand. The staff was exceptional and the breakfast great. Atmosphere is good and all in all a very relaxing holiday. We've had two minor problems which involved the aircon and the room safe and these issues were fixed in no time at all. Having traveled to many parts of Asia we rate Ramada Khao Lak resort one of the best value for money resorts we've been to. A real pleasure.

Review 40:lots of options for eating out just outside the hotel. near the night market that opens on Wednesday and Saturday. room is well-maintained and in style, got upgraded into a room with jacuzzi!

Review 41:Food at the Hotel ok, but walking around 200-700m you'll get whatever you want: Thai - Rabeang (closest Restaurant to the Hotel with excellent Food and reasonable prices, esp. For Wine - 150Bht 0,5l) Italian - Pinnoccio Thai - Khao Niau (led by Swiss Guy, absolutly best Service in Town, very very good food, Right next to the market)

Review 42:Honeymoon - Took a Private Pool Villa Worth every Cent! Pool 6x4m Absolute privately, 3m Wall around the Villa Top Service

Review 43:Staff are absolutely amazing from start to end. I have never seen so many smiles

Review 44:Everything except the food which definitelly was not good

Review 45:The hotel was excelent. The food was not good at all relative to a four star hotel.

Review 46:Location, Staff, and Facilities

Review 47:Nothing negative at all.

Review 48:Great Hotel, we have stayed here before, it is lovely.

Review 49:Wifi slow.

Review 53:The resteraunt was very good

Review 54:An Extra-bed is quite small MOSQUITOES

Review 57:Staff pleasant Nice free breakfast

Review 58:The Spa bec. the staff doesn`t speek english. The moscitos everywhere

Review 59:Pool , See , Restaurant

Review 61:Dampness

Review 62:Liked the pool villa Breakfast was ok

Review 63:nothing negative to say.

Review 64:Nice and relaxed, genuine hospitality, not false smiles you can sometimes get, wish we had booked longer.

Review 65:too much chlorine in the private pool . cakes in the afternoon tea were tasteless .

Review 66:the staff were very friendly .the privacy of the private pool villa.food was nice.pool.

Review 67:wifi is slow

Review 68:Location is good because Resort is near Bangniang market within 10 minutes by walk. Staff is kind. Outdoor pool is small but nice and beautiful. I could see garden and outdoor pool in my room. My room was connect to garden and outdoor pool directly through balcony with two bed. Breakfast was also good. Most of all, Sunset scenery of Bangniang beach in front of Resort is fantastic.

Review 69:Loved that is was on a beautiful and very swim-able beach. Fantastic breakfast and we ate at the restaurant once and had room service once were both excellent. Very helpful staff. Loved the free and easy bike hire at the resort. The location is brilliant.

Review 70:It's 83 kilometers from the Airport but they operate a shuttle from the Hotel.

Review 71:Really lovely Hotel with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with a variety of fresh fruits etc. Pool and facilities excellent and definitely the best cleaning staff I have seen. Bring a book and just relax !

Review 72:This is by far an excellent hotel to stay at. With our daughter 1 year old we stayed for 10 days and had an amazing time. Following are the best parts - Location, although the hotel restaurants are of good quality in short walking distance there are many restaurants for really good thai food - Staff, all were super friendly and helped in any way possible - Pool, great size and pool bar a lot of fun - Rooms, comfortable beds, clean and well equipped Were will surly be coming back!!

Review 73:The rooms did not have any Thai twist, could have been anywhere in the world.

Review 74:The resort in general is very nice. We stated just as a hopping on point to the Surin Islands which worked great. The location is otherwise quite remote and the hotel whilst very nice has little charm. Very expensive for what we got, but then it was over the Xmas period and everything was super expensive. The Surin Islands were beautiful!!!

Review 75:There is nothing we didn't like in the hotel.

Review 76:The location of the hotel was great. The staff were all lovely. Good management of the hotel. We were family with two young children and there was all the necessary facility for the family to have a great vacation. I would however point out the lovely staff who were all very kind with our kids. They have received gifts once we arrived and they were enlightened. The front beach was unforgettable. The spa and treatments were great. We have appreciated the morning buffet and have dined once in the restaurant. Overall it was good.

Review 77:There was 2 workout machines broken at the gym. And I overate every morning because of the marvellous breakfast buffet.

Review 78:Excellent breakfast, everything for everyone from 6.30 to 10.30. Staff was really helpful, always there to make sure that everything is ok. Room was really spacious and clean. Really easy to feel pampered.

Review 79:You should never ask this question for Ramada Khao Lak.

Review 80:Excellent hotel. Excellent staff. Excellent facilities. Excellent services. Excellent, excellent, excellent. At Ramada Khao Lak they really got the point of quality and guest satisfaction. I will go back and I will suggest it to more people. I will be your ambassador everywhere I go.

Review 81:Nothing in particular but annoyed that I booked two rooms 7 months in advance taking my adult daughter. Chose ramada because of nightclub and beach drinks only to find it closed for repair, they could have warned me and given a chance to change venues

Review 82:Plenty of grass not a concrete jungle like some 5 star sites. Easy relax feel about the place

Review 83:Bizarre design of bathroom

Review 84:Superb breakfast, Thai style with Euro flair Superb setting of pool and beach Great kids' club Birthday cake for wife Great attitude of staff Great parking Wi-Fi is OK Effective tour desk Great pool bar Views

Review 85:Rooms in need of a 'spruce' up i.e. minor renovation, mini bar prices were excessive

Review 86:Staff were excellent, service was exceptional, location outstanding, smaller more boutique feel about hotel

Review 87:There is simply nothing to dislike about this hotel or location.

Review 88:The hotel and staff were simply amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them and everything was done with a smile. The location is directly on the beach and there are always plenty of sunbeds available.

Review 89:No dislikes.

Review 90:Located right on a very beautiful beach & very close to bars & restaurants. Very good staff & service. The rooms are very large & well maintained. Excellent bufet breakfast.

Review 91:We like the friendliness of the staff, the amount of choice at the buffet breakfast, the proximity of the beach and local bars/restaurants/shops and the many choices of sifferent activities in and around the reosrt. The pool area was also excellent.

Review 92:Rooms smelled a bit chemical at the beginning.

Review 93:Extremely friendly staff, very good location next to the beach, prices in hotel (i.e. pool bar) are not exaggerated, also many smaller restaurants and supermarkets nearby

Review 94:The atmosphere of friendliness and the all-pervading smile.... One extra service: I had need for a medic...after trying by phone to arrange something, the management Mrs. T PA and Tanya decided to take me with Tanyas private car to a clinic... 30 minutes one way..accompanied by the executive (Tanya) plus a staff member who was familiar with local conditions... Better service impossible and all with the same friendliness and sympathy. One other staff members (TOH) deserves to be mentioned especially... the swimming pool and deck chair service men... always attentive, friendly, abd ready to help and to make our stay more pleasant... One of the most memorable resort vacations in my long life (three weeks).

Review 95:We upgraded to a Jacuzzi room, it took us a long time to get the bath full due to low water pressure and it was certainly just a 1 person bath. We also had a leak in our ceiling from the upstairs bathroom. It was attended to very quickly but it also meant that our room was not able to be used for more that 1/2 a day. We had to use resort facilities such as toilet etc till it was repaired. Also our flight arrived at 7.30pm and we did not arrive to the Ramada until 1am. We had to wait outside the airport in very hot and humid conditions for other passengers to arrive on their flight. My husband and I were disappointed that we were made to wait almost 2 hours in terrible conditions outside the airport.

Review 96:I thought the staff were very helpful the pool was fantastic and the gardens were very well maintained.

Review 97:All the staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly and will make you feel welcome from the moment you check in. The rooms are very clean and you want for nothing. We didn't eat at the hotel however by looking at the menu the prices were reasonable by hotel standards. It was low season so a lot of local places are closed but the local restaurants we did try were good value and great food. The beach shack along the beach to the left of the hotel had great cold beer and the chicken with black pepper and garlic was magic. We rented scooters (200 baht per day) and traveled north to Bangsak Beach which is well worth the trip. Quiet and still undeveloped with a great little local place that served amazing seafood. Each Thursday evening hotel management put on a free cocktail hour where you can meet staff including the General Manager, this is a great idea. Activities are scheduled throughout the day and vary from towel folding to beach soccer. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Ramada.

Review 98:Excellent beach location and swimming pool area, high standards of staff’s service and room service, extreme tidiness and wonderful food.

Review 99:Absolutely nothing could not fault a thing.

Review 100:This resort is beautiful and relaxing. We stayed in an ocean front roomwhich is absolutely gorgeous. The decor was nice the spa and shower werevery large and the views of the ocean were stunning. We ate at therestaurant every night and found it had a huge range of choices at avery reasonable price. Breakfast every morning was fantastic anythingyou could want was spread out for you to choose. The beach at the frontof the hotel is clean and beautiful. Love the staff. It is about 1 hrfrom the airport in a smaller quieter town but there is still plenty tosee and do but we didnt want huge crowds or parties so it was perfectfor us. I will definately stay there again.

Review 101:We had to wait 1 1/2 hours one evening for our dinner, at the endwe gave up and cancelled. But the next eve it was back to swiftservice again.

Review 102:Almost everything!

Review 103:The location is immediately on the beach. Staff performance is excellent. After have a problem with the air-con they changed me immediately to another room and next day apologized them again for the inconvenience. On the breakfast you can really find everything, from delicious breads, to asian food, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh juices, ... Walking distance to other restaurant, ...

Review 104:This is a very nice hotel with great location on the best beach (BangNiang) in Khao Lak area. All rooms seem to be well located and equipped.Staff is very friendly and the service overall was top-notch. Not thecheapest option, but here you get value for your money.

Review 105:Excellent service, great value for money. We've received a freeupgrade to one of 8 ocean front villas. The beach and the location areamazing, beautiful sunsets every night. Beautiful resort, which neverseems crowded.

Review 106:Nothing

Review 107:Comfortable bed and pillows

Review 108:Loved the location, and it was also the perfect size, did not feel crowded at all.

Review 109:Great hotel, had a really relaxing stay and staff were so friendly

Review 110:The reception staff seems a little unwelcoming at times.

Review 111:The location at the beach. Big and clean jacuzzi room. Big swimmingpool.

Review 112:sunbeds at the beach and pool to close to another, felt like a sardine...

Review 113:food (breakfast and dinner), the personal was very friendly

Review 114:Been many times at Thailand. Felt the staff was not as friendly and supportive as other locations.

Review 115:Toiletries could be improved

Review 116:Beautiful beach location with shops, bars and restaurants all close by

The Fine Print
