Reviews for Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant de Borken
Review 1:Bathroom was horrible and really dirty. The showers and the changing rooms in the swimming pool area are also not clean. The ground was full of dirt.
Review 2:The Sauna and the swimming pool are nice.
Review 3:Very good quality hotel with superb room. A fairly remote farming location with the nearest village, Dwingaloo, a 10 minute cycle away. Well stocked bar and restaurant mean you don't need to leave the hotel if you don't want to. Use of pool available if required.
Review 4:Breakfast is ok but there is not much variety. For a couple of days this is ok but I would not like it if I were staying longer.
Review 5:Staff are very friendly and the dinner menu is very good - though it would be nice to have more choice.
Review 6:Breakfast was good but it was exactly the same every morning - no changes, no surprises. Would have been nice to perhaps have something different on one of the days, just to offer a bit of variety. Even if there was a toaster it would enable you to make your own toast. Menu's weren't in English and they didn't have an English version for you to look at. I think one of the waiters spoke better English than the others, but by the time we found out we had sussed out Google translate on my Android phone - a must when you're abroad I think. Hotel seemed a little bit dated, but nothing that couldn't be done quickly and without a lot of cost. Mattresses were ok, but very springy so for those who prefer a firm mattress I don't think you're going to get one.
Review 7:This hotel was ideally situated for us - heading off to the Assen MotoGP circuit every day :-) It was only a 20 minute drive (approx) there and then the same back, and the roads were easy navigate around once you got the hang of them!We stayed for 4 nights, and the rate included breakfast every morning. Breakfast offerings were very good; if there wasn't something on the buffet table that you couldn't eat, then I'd be amazed. Cereals, croissants, lots of different bread and buns, meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts, jams, boiled eggs, bacon, scrambled egg (no sausage, beans or tomatoes though. perhaps you could ask the waitress for these items but if you could we weren't aware of it).Leisure facilities were really good for the price we paid. They did seem a little underused though, but it just made it feel like you had your own private facilities :-)The evening menu was ok as far as variation goes. A must though is the peppered steak. For the price tag we thought it would just be a low quality cut, perhaps frying steak - sirloin at the best. But what we got was a fillet steak, plump and juicy and tender and well worth the money. We had it on two nights because it was soooo good. If you don't like it cooked very rare though, you need to point this out to the waitress because the chef seems to cook on the rare side as standard. I had to send mine back as I like mine medium rare. When it came back the second time it was better but still a little on the rare side for me. Really nice though. They don't advertise peppercorn sauce but if you want this, just ask the waitress and the chef will make it fresh for you. The portion sizes were huge too - a plate full of salad and chips. The salmon I had on another night was really nice too - tender and a light sauce to go with it, along with the salad and chips. We never got to try dessert as we were always too stuffed. Drinks prices seemed the norm for Europe.
Review 8:Parking Lot requires to be reconstruct as it is very muddy when it rains.

Review 18:Location & staff
Review 19:The bedroom light was very dim and there were too many flies around the bread table at breakfast time every morning.
Review 20:Very comfortable rooms, staff were very polite and spoke good English. The breakfast buffet had a great selection. The pool area was excellent along with the Hot Tub.
Review 21:Large pillows - we prefer Shallow Pillows ie :- not thick deep ones !
Review 22:Very nice large room with Patio :- very comfortable exept for the pillows - See what we didn't like !
Review 23:Hotel seemed run down. - Our small double room was really small and the second person could hardly get in and out of bed! Bathroom was minimal and the shower was not fresh. The joints in the tiles were not white but grey!
Review 24:Surroundings beautiful. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and made up for the accommodation!
Review 25:I booked the room with terrace on ground floor for my parents. When they arrived, they were told that it is not available anymore. How come booking.com???The staff did not contact me at all about them making mistake of double booking. They were offered last free room in first floor with two single bed, really something for married couple! After my mom's knee surgery, first floor room, nice touch hotel staff! I've had all planed well for my parents holiday..I'm wondering what would happend if the last free room wasn't available? When i called to demand my rights the front desk staff wasn't really bothered with the issue, they didn't even say sorry once for inconvience. Just trying to get rid off the problem / me asap..made me feel like I'm the one who made a mistake. Very upset how they handle booking in general. 5years experience with this website = never happend before and I travel all over the world, book for my friends etc. I wish that someone in charge will take a look at this and make things right for future guest in this Fletcher Hotel which is btw great hotel chain. Thnx
Review 26:Location and facilities
Review 27:No air-con > expected as standard in 4 * hotel Hardly refill at breakfast > early on out of joghurt, eggs, bacon, croissants,... > again, not expected at 4 * hotel
Review 28:Friendly stuff
Review 29:Room was on the first floor up narrow stairs and there was no lift whichmay provide a problem moving luggage for some travellers. The room wassingle glazed, which was no real problem but the windows frequentlymisted over. Only one hanger in the wardrobe and no coat hooks onwall/door.Although invited to make a reservation for dinner which we did, we were only offered the a la carte menu in the restaurant not the fixed price/value menu which we became aware of the next day. The free wifi in rooms described did not connect to the Internet, although it did connect to the Hotel router, on any of the 3 days we were there in April 2012. We mentioned this problem to Reception on 5 occasions without satisfactory resolution. The coffee at breakfast provided from a self service machine was the worst I have ever tasted in a Hotel.
Review 30:Our triple (actually a quadruple) room was spacious and comfortable withen suite shower room. The Hotel's swimming pool was nearby, free to useand of a reasonable size.Food from the a la carte menu in the restaturant was of excellent quality. Free parking on site.
