Reviews for Luang Poj Boutique Hostel

Review 1:No, did not experience any unpleasant incident. Would recommend, and if returning to Ranong, would again stay at "Luang Poj".

Review 2:I liked "Luang Poj's value for money, ( $19 per night), staff assistance, clean room/bathrooms, 20 minutes walk to Bus station, and general atmosphere, created by enthusiastic staff. Specifically, welcoming atmosphere. Genuine!

Review 3:The mattress was really hard and it was quite noisy because the walls were super thin. The rooms are on the second floor and the light from below shines through the gaps between the floorboards (and I suspect thats also where the moscitos came from).

Review 4:Charming hostel. Rooms and showers were really clean and tidy.

Review 5:My sheets had a few small stains on it when entering the room, I however didn't mention this since 95% of all sheets in thailand have stains. However when checking out, the guy at the reception said that I had caused the stains. I clearly said that they were already there but they kept on arguing that they were clean. I ended up paying 50 bath, which is of course not that much but I still felt ripped off since I know they were there when I entered the room. If they are going to be so strict, at least they should warn customers that they really need to control all sheets and towels and report any stains immediately.

Review 6:My positive feelings I had completely disappeared after being ripped off upon checking out.

Review 7:I would definitely recommend ear plugs because the room is next to the road. There is quite a lot of traffic noice since there are no windowglass, only wooden window shutters (which look quite nice but don't do much in terms of sound proofing). No breakfast and the staff is not very enthusiastic.

Review 8:Last time I stayed in a air con room, but this time only a fan room was availeble. The room was better than I expected and had some nice colonial vibe going. In that terms much better than the air con room that didn't have windows either. Fan was quite enough and didn't miss air con.

Review 9:Ranong is not so interesting. Bit boring when travelling alone.

Review 10:The hostel is more like a hotel. You get your own room, but you have to share the showers and toilet. The hotel is well decorated. A lot of old stuff. Its clean. The rooms have airco and ventilation but no windows. In like it because it's nice dark.

Review 11:A little pricey but if you are travelling as a xou

Review 12:The bathroom is shared, but it was really clean and the shower was lovely. Really Nice decor. the Location is very central so there are plenty of places nearby to eat and plenty of cheap transport, near to pons place for information about boarder runs

Review 13:Mattress from a nursing home: might be washable but is a guarantee for sweaty nights. Room above a tattoo parlor: you can look into their front room through the wood of the floor and listen to their strange taste of German hip hop and American Hard n Heavy which ends at 11 pm sharp at closing time. Front staff from hell: Not even the gift of expensive German chocolate bars from the 7eleven next door bought me a smile. The gentleman in charge on my arrival day made an active effort to make my check in a little bit worse then necessary.

Review 14:Clean and friendly as well as uniquely designed common areas. Nice old and fine refurbished first historic hotel of the city. Remarkably clean room.

Review 15:the only thing that i would say is that there is a smoking area upstairs that does have a natural air flow, but for those non smokers can sometimes smell it. not really an issue though for us!

Review 16:The reception area is really good for relaxing and reading, the bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the bathrooms were quirky and showers hot! overall a really great stay as its a little gem in Ranong! Location is brilliant also right on the main road through the town. would recommend to friends!

Review 17:Staff were not very friendly but was ok. The lack of windows in the room feels like sleeping in a box but at least it has air conditioning and fan

Review 18:Easy enough to get to. Does the job for 500 baht

Review 19:right on one of the main streets, which is good for location, but bad for noise. walls and floors are very thin, so all conversations below and on either side of the room were clearly heard, and traffic sounds from the street outside poured in all night long (traffic only calms down for a couple hours in the dead of night, maybe 3-5am.

Review 20:the room itself was fantastic. clean all around, nice big comfy bed, clean towel, bedside table with lamp, good A/C. the showers and toilets were very clean as well. nice hot water on tap (though i always turned it down because i don't enjoy hot showers in this weather. but it's plenty hot if you like that.)

Review 21:The bed was a little hard.

Review 22:The entire property oozed charter and charm.

Review 23:Very thin walls.

Review 24:The location was great, nice decoration, friendly and helpful staffs.

Review 25:Very thin walls and you could see through your floor to the reception.

Review 26:Good location close to the diveshops.

Review 27:Clean and nice bathroom, very comfortable room. Good price.

Review 28:Good location & price

Review 29:Very unique and nice. They really have warm water and a really nice style.

Review 30:Great easy cheap stay in between destinations.

Review 31:can't close door of toilet

Review 32:No window, noisy, shared bathroom expensive fir what it is

Review 33:Good for visa run can get ingrown taxi for 15 baht to visa boat in morning

Review 34:Not accepting MC or Visa card..Used excuse,,their card machine out of service..**note booking.com-recommend advise your customers if hotels are cash only..thnx

Review 35:Excellent full breakfast served like a normal restaurant on top floor...rented a super nice mtn bike with helmet and lock..would rate this place 9 out 10

Review 36:Wi-fi was working not everywhere in a proper way, and moving around looking for the signal could be a bit annoying.

Review 37:All very efficient and kind. The location is right in the center, good for every further plan (visiting, ferry, airport...). Clean and functional. I liked to be in one of the rooms with windows even if that meant the impossibility not to be confronted with the noises of the city (traffic of moped at any time for example) or with le the lights from outside.

Review 38:noise of heavy traffic all day, "want-a-be" boutique hotel but feels "run-down". some rooms have no windows!!! No hot shower, often no toilet paper, mosquito infested. A staff somehow a bit strange guy...

Review 39:city center, near to the day market, walking distance to the hot spring

Review 40:You can here traffic in the room, but with ear plugs - no problem. I would still stay there again just for the value for money and cleanliness.

Review 41:This place is great for the budget conscious, who also like nice modern, very clean facilities. The showers were great, better than some of the Thailand hotels I've stayed in.

Review 42:Becauce it's heart at the city it's noisy. You can hear traffic at your room.

Review 43:So cute rooms there! And really helpful and fiendly staff. Nice place.

Review 44:No windows in any rooms, shared showers in disrepair, had to beg for TP...

Review 45:Friendly helpful staff

Review 46:central location

Review 47:but don´t have windows.

Review 48:rooms are spacious

Review 49:Friendly staff and the location. The local food close to this hostel are good. People in Ranong are very friendly.

Review 50:Bathroom not in room, rooms without window.

Review 51:Nice design, 7-11 near hostel, clean
