Reviews for MNL Boutique Hostel

Review 1:Nothing!

Review 2:The staff were friendly and kind. I had a Filipino wedding while I was in Metro Manila and the staff led me in the right direction to rent a Barong at the last minute. Definitely made a great impression at the wedding thanks to this hostel. Made some cool friends in the common area, the little kitchen is neat and bathroom area is always clean. Would definitely stay here again if I was back in Makati!

Review 3:With most of the Philippines you pay a lot for the accomodation you get in comparison to the rest of Asia.

Review 4:Lovely helpful staff, really good location and lots of travelers.

Review 5:Very hard to indicate to taxis. A bit far away from any metro station (you have to walk and then take a jeepney).

Review 6:Warm atmosphere, nice staff, good equipment, correct breakfast, very clean. Near to a fun karaoke food court were you can have food until late.

Review 7:The free breakfast is "help yourself" but there's no rice. Just bread, jams, cereals, milk, hard-boiled egg and coffee. There's also no remote for the aircon.

Review 8:The location is very accessible. There are many shops nearby especially foods you can buy at a walking distance.

Review 9:Clean hostel, comfy bed and pillows, hot shower, lockers, common kitchen with included breakfast and free water! Nice common area, friendly staff! That's all you need!

Review 10:I don't usually leave reviews but felt I needed to tell you all just how amazing this place is. The staff are brilliant. Super helpful with directions, restaurant ideas, travel advice and generally anything you need. It's super clear, toilets and showers are always immaculate. Over all great stay! If you are landing at the airport be warned with yellow taxi stand queue (to the right as you leave the airport) is super long. But hold it out. It's much cheaper and safer than using the white taxis.

Review 11:The hostel is so expensive for what you get! We changed rooms because the lock on the first room was faulty, the second room was same price but so much better! The first room had old school air con & unpainted walls. Wifi doesn't work in the room. When we were there they had a large booking of about 30 football lads & they were really intimidating. Can't order a taxi for you. Not that much in the area to do.

Review 12:The lady who works there is so helpful, literally planned an itinerary of the Philippines for us, printed out flight details for us, told us good places to go to eat etc. The hostel is clean. Breakfast is good.

Review 13:Not any.

Review 14:On the basis of Staff, Location, Cleanliness, Comforts and facilities only you can value any property, on all these counts this property was just most suitable for me. If I visit Manila again, I would love to stay here again and again. Vibhuti Kashyap "Ghummakkad"

Review 15:There's nothing that I did not like.

Review 16:I like that it is near Century City and other food establishments. You get to meet a lot of foreign friends, staff are friendly and accomodating.

Review 17:The lobby is small and can't accommodate a large group of people. I'm unlucky that there is a big group of travellers who stayed until late in the lobby and I can't work there :(

Review 18:The place is nice and the staff is great

Review 19:Staff are cool and friendly, very knowlegable too! Beds are comfy, thick matresses! big lockers, bfast selection was enough and showers clean and spacious. oh and location was in the middle of restos, cinema, banks, nice night food market too!

Review 20:Only down if that none of there rooms has windows which is due to the location of the building, but that keeps it cool at least.

Review 21:The staff are very friendly and help with trips your want to make, especially in the busy and crazy city of Manila. Also very nice is that they have a monthly fumigation where they require everybody to leave the premises, but that's okay cuz it's during day time when you should be out and about.

Review 22:I had to change dorms part wa through my stay and my second room was on the ground floor next to the common area so was incredibly noisy due to talking and TV. I also received bites all over my torso and face due to bed bugs! Not pleasant. They also over charged us for a tour, we paid 1700 pesos whilst guests at a neighbouring hostel paid 1300 for the same trip to Tall Volcano.

Review 23:thin walls - reception provides earplugs, no windows

Review 24:everybody is nice and firendly, good location, wifi, breakfast included, would definitely come back if stay in Manila

Review 25:The room was very simple with very cold floor. Wifi worked only in the lobby

Review 26:location is perfect. it's in the heart of Makati with a good night life. The stuff was very friendly and helped me to arrange few trips around. Small, but still cozy shared area helped me to meet some people. It was fun to go out together.

Review 27:We had a terrible smell in the room, no windows. Just conditioner. The smell was probably because of mold.

Review 28:Very cool style, rather clean and nice location.

Review 29:The blanket should be thicker

Review 30:Everything is nice in here.Simple but complete.Location is great. 7-11,two mall nearby, and hypermarket. You can get jeepney every min. Most importantly the space makes everyone becomes close to each other. They created this sense of belonging to the place.I enjoy every moment spent there.I would definitely return to MNL.

Review 31:was so noisy, people were hanging out in front of my room, staff did not say anything, I entered the room and I felt like a vampire, no window, just walls and this awful smell like when you go into a basement and there is no air circulation, just stale, humid, stinky air, bathroom was shared, it was not even a room, it was next to the 'living room", toilets and showers had no window or air ventilation

Review 32:location

Review 33:MNL hostel is a great place to stay if you are a backpacker travelling solo or with friends. The staff is happy to answer any questions you have about Manila. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast provided is better than what the average hostel serves!

Review 34:the bunk bed....keep hitting my head, the place is so small even our room doesn't even have a window.....the picture looks good on website but in reality is so small

Review 35:i like the wifi...we book for 5 days and paid for it, but when we got there its awful we ended up going to palawan instead of being miserable at that place

Review 36:I found it a little pricey.

Review 37:Excellent and very informative staff which is exactly what you need when you arrive in manila. Showers are great. Bed was comfy A/C worked well Everything you need in a Hostel in Manila

Review 38:Our room was verry smelly and we got sick of sleeping there. We still had to play full price, even tho the staff was aware of the smelly problem.

Review 39:Nice staff, cool interiordesign.

Review 40:Toilet was dirty for 2 days, they didnt even care to through away the toilet basket that was full of papers. No electricity in my bed and the room was smelling so bad.

Review 41:I liked that my room had only 2 beds

Review 42:shortly loss if window for dorm room and ventilate of chambers are dread me strictly

Review 43:the staffs are friendly and warmth to welcome you since its first time

Review 44:I left my purse in the room with plenty of money in it. Without me even asking, they kept it safe until I arrived back 2 weeks later, all the money still inside.

Review 45:Room little bit smelly, but not sure whether due the another passenger. The wifi in the room not working very well.

Review 46:good location, around 15min walking to Ayala center which have few big shopping mall and MRT.

Review 47:staff seems not very friendly to me.sth problem on design of bed, cannot sit in the lower bed.

Review 48:safety location and chance,to know more friends here. very clean.

Review 49:nothing.

Review 50:good location, easy walking to nearby a-venue night market (great local food!!) and century shopping mall. the whole area is well-developed and safe. staff there are friendly. there are always music or movie on in the common room. clean washroom and a nice kitchen.

Review 51:one month prior to arrival was removed from electronic Bank account 570 PHP, upon check-in took 1000 PHP and made no change, although the total amount for accommodation was 1200 PHP. be cautious at payment!!! in room №1 noisy from the street.

Review 52:inside: clean, colourful design, fun atmosphere. they have desktop PC. they have the necessary utensils for cooking. at 50 meters there is a supermarket SM, 7-Eleven and money changer. you can reach the MOA (mall of Asia) only for 16 PHP using Jeepney with one change.

Review 53:The air conditioning blew Diesel smell Into my room. I realized when it was too late and had problems with headache and breathing the next day. Wifi did not reach my room. In the direct surroundings of this hostel there is nothing but tourist restaurants and sex offers. I did not give a negative rating for that fact, but it will just keep me away from there next time.

Review 54:Washing rooms and Wc are clean and quite modern.

Review 55:Aircon could be a bit too cold sometimes.

Review 56:Great staff, fantastic comfi beds, insane good showers, super clean, incl breakfast. I don't think I've stayed in a better hostel in 6 months than this.

Review 57:Really? Is there something not to like about it? Lmao. I loved everything

Review 58:The fact that it's a really good deal for money, MNL Botique Hostel provides an area of meeting new people. A nice avenue to start friendships to last for a good time. I will definitely recommend this hostel to solo or group travelers.

Review 89:The main floor is a bit below ground and our room didn't have any windows, smelled a bit damp.

Review 90:Cozy Clean

Review 91:the cozy feeling of the common area where you can just chill, hang out and watch some good movies on the television. Breakfast is great as well.

Review 92:The location, very close to shops and A Venue night market

Review 93:Great staff and good location. Value for money :) Clean as well :)

Review 94:Maybe just a trivial concern and mnl has nothing to worry with this because this is already a filipino nature : that SOME filipinos treat foreign guests more nicely than filipino guests. I dont mean that I should be treated like a royal but at least if you smile and talk to a foreigner, why cant you at least look a filipino guest in the eye? I thought of just letting it pass, because it was only a small issue, but then I think as filipino people in hospitality business, we need to keep an eye on that. There are many guests who are particular with staff friendliness. Other than that, mnl is by far the best place to be in Makati.

Review 95:Locations is close to everything. Shops, supermarket, 7-11, atms, restaurants and a jeepney ride to Greenbelt Makati. Very good mattress, clean sheets, power plug on your bunk which is helpful for your gadgets. Very good shower rooms and artistically-painted walls on toilets (but sometimes run oit of toilet papers and handwash is too diluted with water, doesnt almost bubble). Very helpful staff (but since this is a review, I have to be honest that NOT all of them). The staff guy in glasses is the most friendly and the housekeeing is well-trained which unlike other hostels or even hotels that housekeeping would just mind their own tasks and do not care to greet guests, their housekeeping are so polite and smiling which is really a plus! They allow you to your luggage too while you do other things after checkout (or before check-in). Thumbs up to MNL!

Review 96:It might be a new hostel, but the organisation was a bit off. No useful maps for guests, tours have to be booked by the guest via phonecalls to random taxi drivers, etc. Breakfast was ok, but sometimes even if you were up very early there was no coffee, no bananas, etc. Wifi does not reach the upstairs rooms - not a huge issue, but would have been nice if it reached the rooms.

Review 97:Friendly staff - willing to help at all hours Breakfast included Pretty good location - not far from the airport and shops, bars nearby

Review 98:Everything about this cool little cozy hostel! The staff were super nice, the rooms well kept and the showers and toilets were clean. My teammates and I are definitely keeping this one close to our hearts and will keep coming back to this place in all our Manila trips! :) Keep up the good work guys!

Review 99:Toilets ran out of toilet paper a few times. Just need to keep up the restocking.

Review 100:I loved the communal house feeling it had. Felt like living in a house with heaps of friends! Great position and very friendly staff.

Review 101:Taxi drivers seem to have a hard time finding it

Review 102:The staff are really helpful at any hour, everything was clean, lots of toilets and showers so you never have to wait. Central location, near the red light district.

Review 103:Would be nice the hostel could provide a bigger "Living-Room" or kitchen, so more people can sit at the same time together..., just not enough space for all the travelers when they are not out to enjoy night-live or one of the nearby "tasty" restaurants.

Review 104:Great Deal for your money! Great concept!

Review 105:Breakfast is free but it's also very little. It was enough for me though.

Review 106:I thought it's not as loud as you could think when you read other comments here. I slept very well and there was very little traffic in front of the hostel during the night. Still it's in a good place. The staff was nice and helpful and I could even borrow the Lonely Planet from the shelf for the whole day (it was 25 years old though :-D)

Review 107:No wifi in rooms, so we had to go to the common area. No slippers provided at the shower area. The utensils at the kitchen were a bit dirty, they should check the mugs and the drying area since there are dirt and all, but not to be worried about. Just make sure you wash before you use, and after.

Review 108:The environment were beautiful. I like the hang out area where I can meet people from all over the world. Staff were helpful especially Ryan. I really had a good time there.

Review 109:Having to pay a full night when I arrived at five in morning.

Review 110:Clean, nice showers, good breakfast and near everything. Good place to meet fellow travellers.

Review 111:Detailled Information about possible self-guided tours are provided. The location ist just perfect and easy to find. Everything is clean and welcoming and there is even breakfast included!

Review 112:The staff could have been more helpful about things to do in Manila. I didn't like that most of the rooms opened straight up onto the common area. It was pretty loud at night.

Review 113:I really loved the artwork in the hostel and waffles at breakfast. Ryan was really nice too. I loved the huge bathroom area downstairs and the communal corner for toiletries is a great idea!

Review 114:The room is not big enough. But it is ok.

Review 115:Location is convenient. The most people here is nice. You can make many friend here if you come Manila alone. Breakfast is ok.

Review 116:Hardly to borrow a hair dryer for female traveler Abit noisy at the common place after 10pm

Review 117:Friendly and helpful staffs Clean rooms and great environment in the hostel Breakfast is included The location is ease to anywhere Meet alot of nice friends around the world. Had a awesome new year celebration over here.

Review 118:My only complaint is that wifi is supposed to be available in all areas but it was not available in my room.

Review 119:Well located hostel with staff who were helpful and friendly.

Review 120:Nice Hostel. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, breakfast was simple but good. Location is close to the airport and Transit. I recommend staying here.

Review 121:Nothing against the hostel. But I must say I aw as surprised at how expensive the Philippines is relative to other Asian destinations.

Review 122:Excellent location in the beautiful Makati area of Manila. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and a very easy going vibe.

Review 123:Lack of windows in downstairs rooms, but not a problem

Review 124:Staff were very helpful - I left my phone at the hostel at the start of my trip and they kept it safe for me when I returned two weeks later Also very clean and comfortable

Review 125:开始地方有点难找。

Review 126:员工很友善热情,都热爱音乐,晚上经常在旅馆门口,一个吉他一个饮水桶就能玩出很好的音乐。 I'm really have a greattime while stay in mnl hostel, nice staffs and love music, you can enjoya mini live music show at night, haha...

Review 127:It's quite far to go to Intramrus and some historical places in Manila, cause most of them is in Malate city :(

Review 128:The staff is very nice, they always give the helpful advice :) the place is small but clean and quite lovely ^^ It's perfect if u go with friends or alone.
