Reviews for Hotel Pegasus

Review 1:No wardrobe in room; shower water fluctuates when others using hot water; not enough room for everyone if hotel is at full capacity. Showing up 20 mins after b'fast started, we were asked to return to our rooms and they would call us when a table became free. About a 10-min wait. Monday's b'fast did not start at 0700 as advertised in room booklet. Again we had to return to our room and wait until 0900. Bathrobes provided by hotel in sorry state.

Review 2:Loved the location; pretty town; train station close by; easy access to Amsterdam, Deventer, Armsfoort, etc. The staff was great and couldn't have been kinder.

Review 3:Room was a bit chilly but then it was exceptionally cold and wet outside.

Review 4:Lovely breakfast and friendly host. Would be incredibly convenient if you were visiting the theatre

Review 5:Took quite a while to run a bath

Review 6:A complete change from the usual business hotels I stay in. Felt like I was back in the 1930s with the room layout and decor, but no complaints about comfort, and key modern feature - WiFi - worked well. Breakfast was freshly prepared and very nice.

Review 7:Tiny bathroom.

Review 8:Beautiful house and lovingly decorated rooms. Run by the very attentive owner, fantastic breakfast. Close to Orpheus theatre and city center.

Review 9:Perhaps the owners could make some more work of their backyard. It would make the property even prettier. Although you don't really need it as all rooms come with a balcony. More for aesthetical reasons.

Review 10:The house has character; a welcome break from the usual "modern" hotels we tend to stay in. Not too many guests at the same time, that makes it personal and cosy. Walking distance from centre of Apeldoorn.

Review 11:The bathroom was a bit cold, and water was just warm enough.

Review 12:The room was beautifully decorated with antique furniture. Breakfast was fresh made with typical Dutch products. The breakfast room was also very charming.

Review 13:Our hosts were very friendly and had many fascinating stories to tell. They helped put us in touch with other Canadians who were there for liberation events and provided helpful transportation suggestions.

Review 14:This hotel is certainly a one-off, from the antique and vintage displays to the four-poster bed with working curtains! We were given such a warm welcome and help with choosing a restaurant. And the breakfast was excellent - in deference to our Englishness, we were even offered bacon and eggs! Lovely garden and terraces too.

Review 15:The weather cut short our tour of the grounds of both places.

Review 16:Comfortable room, unfortunately the weather precluded us from sitting on the balcony. Pleasant breakfast in house with many original features. Visits to Het Loo and Kroller-Muller museum enjoyable.

Review 17:It's o.k. if you have your own wheels (that, beeing in Holand, would probably be two...), but if you depend on public transport, it is a little far from everything.

Review 18:Which, by the way, were both excelent. As was excelent to chat with the owner

Review 19:We didn't actually dislike the parking arrangements, but cars are parked in a rather gloomy area at the rear.

Review 20:The charming owner has created an unusual mise-en-scene, there are 19th and early 20th century furnishings everywhere. Touches of Miss Havisham without the cobwebs. the candlelit breakfast is a delight.

Review 21:The hotel is located in a very charming building in a charming street. It is close to the city centre but very quiet. Our room had a nice balcony. Very friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast.

Review 22:Having to leave after only three days!

Review 23:Beautiful "Late Victorian" period property, sympathetically decorated and furnished to provide a unique ambience with a charming and attentive proprietress.

Review 24:Would love to see new, fluffier pillows.

Review 25:Location was very nice. Quick walk to restaurants and town center. Very friendly and accommodating. Delicious breakfast. Bed and room were comfortable.

Review 26:Nothing at all

Review 27:This is an absolutely lovely 'boutique' hotel in a great location in Apeldoorn. The owner and her daughter were lovely and helpful The house has been refurbished in a lovely traditional style - felt like we were in the family house of the clearly 20thC - lovely!! Brilliant large balconies too!

Review 28:We could see that this was once a very nice building but at the time of our stay both it and the gardens were in need of some cleaning and repair.

Review 29:We really liked the historic building. We also had a very nice breakfast.

Review 30:insufficient light insufficient wifi hotel is out of date

Review 31:breakfast is allright

Review 32:Very friendly staf makers you feel at home. Excellent breakfast.

Review 33:Chrming hostess and hotel. Like being a guest in a family home. They gave me much extra help and advice.

Review 34:Beautiful and Unique building, great balcony in between large trees, very quiet. Very nice elder lady as host

Review 35:Amazing hotel with a nice cosy atmosphere and beautiful surrounding.

Review 36:None

Review 37:Breakfest, room, bath, location were al very good

Review 38:Service quite slow, staff not particularly friendly

Review 39:Room was comfortable, nice balcony, close to town centre

Review 40:Old fashion style

Review 41:There was nothing we did not like

Review 42:A family hotel that do all they can to make you feel welcome.

Review 43:This is the absolute classic boutique hotel experience. It's an amazing character hotel full of history and charm.

Review 44:Great rooms Quirky style Quiet Great restaurant (La Niche) nearby

Review 45:The location is a bit of a walk to restaurants. The rooms are a bit dark- but this is to be expected in an older heritage house.

Review 46:A lovely restored heritage building run by a lovely woman. The breakfast is nice and served on elaborate place settings in the sunroom. Coffee, tea etc can be made in the room.

Review 47:If you have heavy luggage don't go on the top floor but the views are lovely from there

Review 48:Quiet residential area. Beautiful house decorated in period style but with all mod cons, Excellent breakfast Access to balcony and seating area

Review 49:A rare hotel, very stylish, dated beginnning of 20th Century at the latest and you can feel everything is genuine, including the spirit. This is one of the only hotel where I have been served breakfast fully. So surprising in a country where everything looks so modern! Excellent!

Review 50:We arrived late .. It was dark and wet.... a friendly face welcomed us with a big smile. we were walked individually into our room, and the owner took time to talk us through the facilities.. Excellent deco, breakfast was grandiose, and the service was fab. really like the athnmosphere in the room, felt like i was back in time.

Review 51:No drawers or wardrobe in the room.

Review 52:Very friendly, helpful staff. Comfy bed, good breakfast, nice bath & shower. Can get BBC1 & 2 on the TV. WiFi very fast. Convenient location for Omnisport.

Review 53:the only problem was negotiating the one way system to get to it!

Review 54:Wonderful Hostess and Hotel completely furnished with beautiful antiques, including our lovely four poster bed! Breakfast was amazing all home cooked bacon and eggs to order as well as the bead cheese ham and croissants. Also had private balcony over looking the woods in the back.

Review 55:Appeldorm is pretty boring but aside from squeaky floorboards we can't fault this hotel!

Review 56:Eccentric decor, friendly welcome, great breakfast, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, very clean, kept expecting Mrs Haversham to appear at the top of the stairs. Great place!

Review 57:We didn't get to sample breakfast as we had to leave early due to avery long drive ahead.

Review 58:This is a completely unique hotel and is like stepping back in time! Wewere greeted very warmly by the owner who took trouble to explain howto find the centre of town and local restaurants. Our room wasspacious, the bed comfy and the bathroom clean, though the plumbing wasa little noisy! If you are looking for five star chain hotel style thenthis isn't the hotel for you. If you like quirky and different thenit might be.

Review 59:The only thing Id like to improve is to make more people staying in this hotel)))

Review 60:That was an unbelievable tour in time machine! ) We felt like everything stopped around to let us enjoy calmness and peace. We liked to chat with lady who own and manages this hotel very much. She is soo friendly! )) Breakfast was one of the best in my life: atmosphere, classic music, service full of love. Rooms are extra cozy and comfortable that I slept like a deadman. Hotel is in 1-2 km from lil street with restaurants and park. Parking is behind the hotel, free and safe.

Review 61:I'm 6'5" and that makes the somewhat small but complete bathroom a bit cramped. The TV is an old one but in such a romantic and peaceful environment one does not really need a TV.

Review 62:Hotel Pegasus is one of the most romantic hotels I ever stayed in. The owner has a real passion for taking care of her guests and has put in a lot of effort to give the hotel a real Victorian feel. It gives one the feeling of staying in a museum with an owner who can tell you a story about every piece of art you may lay your eyes upon. She's happy to tell you all about it when you inquire about it but she also leaves you be if you just want to soak in the atmosphere. With more than reasonable minibar prices one feels really at home and welcome. Breakfast is not for the hasty for the staff takes their time to serve their guests a very nice breakfast in a beautiful environment. Though the hotel has a lot of decoration in the rooms and the public diningroom, everything is very clean, which is for me a telltale sign of love for the profession.

Review 63:Squeaky floorboards!

Review 64:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this extremely interesting hotel. The bathroom was particularly novel!the owner was friendly and made us most welcome.Secluded parking area round the back of the hotel. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the town centre where you will find lots of good restaurants and abundant shops. The breakfast was amazing!

Review 65:We were on the top floor, where the bathroom is tiny (no shower) and there is a loud fan that cannot be switched off.

Review 66:it's like stepping in a time machine and going back a century; all the 19th century details are right, a memorable experience. Wonderful private terrace, garden, very friendly staff.

Review 67:This quaint little hotel with all the comforts, gives you the feeling you are a time traveller. Wifi on the one hand and Victorian ambience on the other. The whole stay was enjoyable.

Review 68:All positive, if you do not insist on lcd tv, but whole enviroment isromantic!!!

Review 69:It is really special place for people with love to go back in time.Really great stay, first time I make review over last few years I usebooking.com

Review 70:towels were a bit worn out. No elevator (a bit of challenge if bags are heavy, and you need to go up two stairs). Noisy aircon in the bath room that kept on going all night.

Review 71:They really thought of decorating the house in line with the period it was built. We were staying in a lovely room at the attic. Good parking facilities. Nice neighbourhood. Central.

Review 72:The town of Apeldoorn. Rather uninspiring, though with a fantastic VanGoch collection at the Kröller-Müller Museum within easy reach.

Review 73:The most charming hotel I have stayed in for ages. A delightful hostessand a decor from a bygone age, full of genuine antiques and artefacts.Almost like staying in a design museum.

Review 74:All the reviews we had read about Hotel,Pegasus were true. This hotel has received many awards, and rightly so. Our room was superbly decorated, almost like a bedroom from the Versailles Palace. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was served in a very light setting, and the choice of food and service was outstanding. The hotel is family run, and contains many beautiful antiques. It is located a short walk from the town centre of Apeldoorn, in the centre of The Netherlands. If you want a beautifully decorated room at a very reasonable tariff then Hotel Pegasus is the hotel for you!

Review 75:Breakfast times are a bit late (9.00 - 10.30) but then again it was offered to make us breakfast on the go when we had to leave at 8.

Review 76:Friendly helpfull staff, comfortable rooms, lively and warm decoration. Very close to the theatre and town centre.

Review 77:A very limited breakfast menu, the service was very good but a little shoret of choices.

Review 78:The hotel furnishing made one believe they were going back into time, the rooms were quite comfortable, the hostess was ver friendly and very helpfull. I would recomend the place to our friends.

Review 79:Nothing! We loved our stay.

Review 80:At first glance, Pegasus may appear eccentric and you may wonder why youchose it but that strangeness is immediately put to rest by friendly, welcoming staff and interesting rooms with all the amenities. Our roomwas a garret accessible by some difficult stairs and a low ceiling. Theroom itself, though, was a charmer out of a novel with three openwindows to the street below for excellent ventilation, angled ceilings,a bathroom with character but still modern in its features and doorsthat open onto a huge rooftop patio that is shared with only theneighbours in the other rooftop room. But the best is the breakfastlovingly prepared for each guest with eggs, bacon, and a variety ofbreads and croissants that are delightful. Pegasus is well worth thevisit and we would go there for sure if ever in Apeldoorn again.

Review 81:We enjoyed this Hotel because the rooms were pleasant and we had enough room to socialize with our adult children. The kitchenette was great. It enabled us to have breakfast and make a coffee when we wished to have one. The cleanliness of the rooms was appealing. The linens were simple but fresh looking.

Review 82:Poorly signposted . Lack of identification signs on street . The house was completely unsuitable for a hotel/guesthouse as very steep stairs both in the hallway and the rooms themselves . Dangerous to anyone ,young or old . Original room up steepest of stairs whilst very low attic ceilings precluded standing up in most of tiny room .Impossible to take shower or step effortlessly into/out of tiny beds . Noise from ventilation in bathroom stopped any sleeping whilst ancient bedding was cold and in dreadful condition .Room five . Moved to room three which was better but had dangerous steps down from door and up to bathroom . Broken lights ,threadbare towels and cold water for much of the time . Both rooms had ancient gas fires which were really potentially lethal . Breakfast was very basic offering little choice and poor quality food and beverages . We arrived at 11pm and were asked to pay five nights in full---in advance ! We stuck it out concerned we would lose all our money if we left and moved hotels . Most miserable of experiences has removed all faith in holidays and particularly Booking.com . Remove this awful , filthy place to save others from this "prison" .

Review 83:This Hotel is very incredible, it's a time machine, just after enter, you go directly 80 years in the past. Al the decoration are beautifuland coming directly from the past. And the manager of this Hotel is atrue Lady, very helpful. A nice stay.

Review 84:At arrival, you have to pay for the complete period you reserved. If you have to leave before the end of the period, you will have to pay for nothing. I got room # 5 : - room is noisy due to motor of air flow evacuation. It runs 24 hours a day. - room is warmed with a gas stove. Gas arrival is noisy. Choose between a warmed room or a good sleep. - the bathroom is tiny. No way to stand up inside the bath ! I am 1.72 meters tall.

Review 85:Room is well dressed and atmosphere is warm. Hotel is in a quiet place.

Review 86:Wonderful Hotel, quiet place and the lady in charge is thoughtful.

Review 87:Very friendly homely atmosphere. Great breakfasts. Good location quiet yet central.

Review 112:Lovely (second) stay - a true relaxing, romantic weekend.

Review 113:We liked the ambiance of the building and decoration as well as the personal approach by the staff
