Reviews for ITC Hotel
Review 1:There was lot of noise from the nearest rooms. It would be nice if any member of the staff showed up. I must told them to be quiet.
Review 2:The staff was nice and polite, very helpful.
Review 3:Very old smelly hotel, you hear everything from the people in the next rooms, when you open he window there is smell from the restaurant downstairs.I would not go again there
Review 4:Good price, close to the center
Review 5:Everything was above and beyond what we paid for, no complaints. The only thing is they offer a breakfast which seemed over priced, we opted to go into the city and a nicer cafe/restaurant for the same price.
Review 6:The staff were so accommodating. Even though we were early for checkin (so the room wasn't ready) they offered us an upgraded room. It was clean, modern and felt like a proper hotel. It was perfect walking distance from anywhere, and also around the corner from the tram - so easy to get to further places it the airport. It was right in the canal, the staff were also able to help with directions and offer advice for activities. We had an amazing stay.. Thanks!!
Review 7:It's little but warm and cosy, close to great shops, bars and tram stop... Would stay here again anytime, clean towels and your bed made everyday was lovely...
Review 8:10/10 - We sent a comment telling ITC that it was our honeymoon and they did everything they could to make it perfect. They honoured our request for a canal view and upgraded our room as well! The hotel is on what we think is the loveliest street in Amsterdam. Prinsengracht is the perfect blend of peaceful and jumping. Near all the best art galleries and just south of the centre it wraps right around all the best places to hang about.
Review 9:1. No elevator. Too many stairs. It is very very big problem. 2. Room is small for two person. 3. Toilets are very small. Doors can't close and your legs and your foot in the shower cabin when you sit the water closet for toilet. 4. Just a little bit expensive for all of these. (But it is Amsterdam.)
Review 10:1. Very good personnel. 2. Really good housekeeping. 3. Clean room, clean beds. Every day. 3. Best place for Christmas Markets. 4. Only 20m to tram. 5. Good WiFi speed.
Review 11:The beds weren't very comfortable and we got a twin bed even though we requested the double bed in advance. The bathroom facilities weren't very good.
Review 12:The location is good, 10 min walk from the Rembrandt square. Easy to reach the hotel from the Central Station. Friendly stuff. Clean and warm. The breakfast was great.
Review 13:I think. They should specify the route to hotel from centraal station. I mean which tram or bus if night bus is there. Maybe it mentioned in there on website. N 2ndly I would suggest you that once u get the booking from booking.com. customer email is mention there (I hv been in this business). Just gave your customer a welcome email 24 or 48 hours to check-in which includes a hotel intro as mentioned in website and most important a route to the hotel by any mean. Bus or tram number. Because the tram stop name Prinsengracht is mentions in another tram line as well. Which was like 4 bridges down on the other side. N I spent like 2 hours finding the hotel by foot. Which was hell tiring. Thanks.it's not a negative feedback. Just the thing which help ur customer get to the hotel door in lesser time.
Review 14:I like everything about this hotel... It is just next to tram station. Almost equipped with one of the modern technologies. Like broucher of the hotel . it's helped me visiting around the city. Staff gave me warm welcome.they didn't bother about check-in time. They just get me in as quick as room was ready. Love this. Coz after this long road trip I was so tired.cheers to hotel management. Thanks.
Review 15:It was tiny you definitely get what you pay for ! There were also very steep stairs to climb, and the room was far too warm because the heating was on non stop.
Review 16:The location is perfect !! Close to everything! And very cute view outside. So if you're going to use the room purely for sleeping at night then it's no bother!
Review 17:The 2 electricity plugs on the bed side table were not working, fortunately there was other 2 plugs in the room.
Review 18:That even facing a busy road upfront, was a quite place to stay.
Review 19:The drilling and hammering began shortly after 9am... The nextdoor room was being refurbished and rather than wait until a reasonable hour, or even mention that this would be happening, I was given the rudest of awakenings, with someone drilling into the paper-thin wall behind my head. While this is unlikely to be an every day occurrence, it shows the management to be completely indifferent to the comfort of their guests and for this reason, I would never stay there again. In addition, the room was tiny, with the smallest slither of window overlooking a dirty heating unit.
Review 20:The location isn't bad, the bed was comfortable. And it was relatively cheap. However...
Review 21:First night we had a room which was in the lower basement and was like a prison cell - once we moved the room was much nicer. Drink facilities were poor - a very expensive machine.
Review 22:location and price was reasonable
Review 23:We were housed in the annex when we were expecting a room overlooking the canal in the main part. Very noisy and difficult to sleep at night. Very steep stairs (not uncommon in Amsterdam).
Review 24:Location of the main hotel was good. Breakfast was good.
Review 25:Na
Review 26:ITC was great value for money! Great location right outside tram stop too ( tram 4/RAI ) which takes you into central, Dam Sq etc. The cleanliness of the room / bathroom ( not shared ) couldn't be faulted & staff were pleasant & helpful. Great hidden gem of a bar called The Cuban 2 minute walk away!!
Review 27:It was very noisy until very late (around 4pm). It is not recommended for business travelers that need to wake up early in the morning. I asked at the reception for earplugs but they didn't have. I also had to ask for shampoo, because there wasn't any in the room. The receptionist tried to charge me more, by claiming that the city tax was not included in the price written on my booking confirmation, whereas in reality it was..
Review 28:Central location
Review 29:Wifi wouldn't always work, bad attitude of cleaners
Review 30:Clean, easily accessible, staff helpful, left phone in apartment manager let me know when I returned to collect suitcase before travelling to airport
Review 31:I was stingy and got a shared bathroom apartment and that got pretty messy. I stayed on 4th floor and there was no elevator so I got some good exercise carrying my bag upstairs.
Review 32:Easy to access right next to the tram and bus stop. Cheapest place I could get with 4 stars that night.
Review 33:Receptionist have checked in us before 15:00, but when we get inside the room we realised that it was not cleaned. Then receptionist apologised and told us that we should wait until 15:00 and take all our staff out of the room. Beds in our room was horribly uncomfortable. One of two keys that were given too us was not working.
Review 34:Location is good. Free WiFi works well.
Review 35:I'm in the last room of the last floor. The WiFi signal is terrible, it didnt work.
Review 36:Is in a great location and the staff is friendly. Very cleaned.
Review 37:We stay in Amsterdam every year for our anniversary - very disappointedwith the hotel choice. Check-in was slow, no information given +miscounting and overcharged us. No hot water for two days after makingreception aware, lights flicker, hairs on towels, toilet sometime works+ very noisey - slamming doors and creaky floorboards - as our room wasbased on the first few steps - so not much sleep! I wouldn't stay ifyou are claustrophobic, the windows are like vents. The worrying thingwas that we were told that we had the best room in the hotel! StillAwaiting contact from the hotel regarding this matter!
Review 38:Not much really.
Review 39:Small room and tiny bathroom at 5ft 11" I needed to leave the bathroom door open to be able to use the toilet.
Review 40:The location was near to the main attractions. The staff we spoke to were very polite and easy to talk too.
Review 41:As a lot of houses in Amsterdam, every room in the hostel was really small. but definitely not a deal-break.
Review 42:the location is great - I found it easy to get to any place I wanted to visit. The hotel has a good price-quality balance, and it's all I needed for a 3 nights visit. The room was daily clean, and the shared bathroom frequently cleaned.
Review 43:Stayed 3 days & on the final night was moved to a differentbuilding.Woke up on the check out day covered in bites from either fleas or bed bugs. Blood stains on light fixtures & under sink. Generally disgusting
Review 44:Staff were relatively friendly
Review 45:Much too small room for the price. The look of the room was poor compared to the price. Tv is from the 90's and the finnish of the room lacks with a loose tile behind the zink and an ugly window unable to open in the bathroom with no ventilation.
Review 46:The location and distance to the center of the city.
Review 47:We were put in a different building, opposite the main hotel. This place was not totally renovated yet. Ground floor room needs remodelling. Missed hairdryer.
Review 48:location, location, location!!! Very friendly staff. Best place to start enjoying Amsterdam. Beautiful view of the canal and very cozy area.
Review 49:The receptionist put us into a nicer, quieter room when we checked in. Great location we walked everywhere, not too long to get anywhere and lots of shops and restaurants near the hotel. Bed was very comfy it was hard to get up and about in the morning! Would definitely go back to the hotel
Review 50:There was a patio above our bed room. There were people outside all night long, the walls were thin and we barely slept. Also we had some sort of flies all over the hotel room. Not sure if that's normal in Amsterdam.
Review 51:I was in a separate building from the lounge and didn't meet another single traveller but could have i suppose if I went across the road. The taxi was phoned by the hotel and I was told it would be €39. I did check out early and would have tipped but it went on the meter as €60. Luckily I had enough, apart from this no complaints!
Review 52:Very good location, walking distance to Rembrandt square and McDonald's! Tram links were good, I only had brief encounter with the hotel receptionist but she was very helpful with great English. Beautiful location, I would go back. Basic room with lovely shared bathroom and excellent value for money. I would definitely rebook.
Review 53:Was put in a room at their other location on ground floor (by all accounts their old reception). Room had a huge skylight, so woke up on 1st light. Right by front door to building so very noisey entrance and door slamming going on. The room seemed to be infested with flies (in October).
Review 54:Friendly staff on very late arrival. Central location. Offered free late checkout.
Review 55:I stayed in the building across the street from the main one: was very small, toilet & shower cubicles separated by only plastic sliding doors. Walls paper thin, you could hear pretty much everything that people in rooms next to yours got up to. Checkout wasn't explained - reception closed when I had my early departure, very confusing.
Review 56:Great location - right next to tram stop that gets you to centraal station in about 10mins.
Review 57:Very noisy neighbours, room was dingy and in desperate need of redecorating. The toilet had no window or extraction.
Review 58:The location was excellent and the cost was low.
Review 59:I don't remember if I read that I wasnt going to have my own bathroom and would have to drag my bags up a steep stair case, I know neither of these things can be fixed. However the things you could update would be the windows, very old and thin, you can hear everything, you could also upgrade to dark out curtains so its not so bright in the room when you wake up.
Review 60:I didn't really enjoy anything about my stay.
Review 61:When we realized that our reservation was for a room with "sharedbathroom " we requested a room with a private bathroom. They gaveus an upgrade- which was in the annex on the third floor. The steps up(no elevator) were so steep and narrow it was ridiculous. The room wastiny. The one window had to be propped open with a piece of wood. Thebathroom was grungy. When I requested an iron to press some of myclothes the concierge told me I had to give a 20 Euro deposit for it. Wewere in Europe for 19 days, and this was the worst and most expensivehotel. Also, all the other hotels had a cancellation policy of 24-36hours prior to the arrival. For this hotel you had to cancel 2 weeksprior. Not a good deal.
Review 62:The hotel was in a great location for walking around the city.
Review 63:I arrived late at night and was quite tired. The receptionist gave me the key and told that I should go to the other building next street. The good thing was that he helped me with my luggage.
Review 64:The room was clean. Breakfast was good. Stuff was polite.
Review 65:The hotel charged on my card a final price that was different from the one foreseen in the reservation made through Booking.com... The hotel maintains that it was a mistake on Booking.com ´s side...I still had to pay more than expected. Not fair, and very frustrating!
Review 66:We arrived and got put in to the annex building across the street and Iknew straight away this would be a nightmare as I had read previosureviews. Me and my friend had to litterally pull orselves up thesestairs, when we eventually got to the top we were greeted by a tiny roomwhich smelt of dampness, the toilet was tiny and also smelt of dampness- I called reception and we got moved room the following day - this roomwas not much better albeit less stairs to climb - overall would not stayhere again - no kettle or nothing in the room
Review 67:The bed sank In and the windows are single lane and let all the cold in to the room. The radiator didn't work and the remote on the tv didn't work either.
Review 68:Staff were friendly
Review 69:Great location number 4 tram right outside the door which was handy for geting to everything central, clean, friendly staff and nice quiet area defo stay again
Review 70:rooms very small (the one i got to be fair, not all hotel rooms) different buildings sheets not clean enough not suitable in case aged people or family with children
Review 71:location
Review 72:I dont think it's untypical to Amsterdam, but it had uncomfortable stairwells, and the room was small. While not too comfortable, it didn't actually bother us in the overall experience, which was lovely. We recommend this accommodation.
Review 73:Wonderful location! Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 74:The room was tiny and dark with a semi-opened toilet space. It smelled musty and moldy. I had to call a staff once to come catch a big spider in my room.
Review 75:The location is excellent.
Review 76:For the price we felt that breakfast should have been included. Apart from our room, the hotel is a little tired but clean
Review 77:Nice welcome and room was very comfortable. new bathroom too which was nice. Found the location not to far from most places we wanted to visit.
Review 78:No shower gel. Lady at reception says she does not know whether it is possible to catch a taxi on the street. Noisy wooden floors. Old mattress. Very expensive in the end.
Review 79:We was in an annex across the street from the hotel. The walls were so thin we could hear the couple next door.. The shower was either hot or cold.
Review 80:Good location
Review 81:Room was not ready gave in other hotel on 4th floor lift was not der came back to same hotel but room was not value for money.no proper ventilation .had no other option
Review 82:Location of the hotel .easily accessible to all the tourist places
Review 83:had to walk over the road as we didn't have a room in the hotel. was put in a place with very steep stairs no wifi and no contact to reception!
Review 84:comfy beds
Review 85:My room was somehow underground and did not have any window. The bed was not comfortable. The stair was very very narrow. Different noises from staffs or tram station close to the building could be annoying. In general, the cost was so much high considering these problems.
Review 86:The room was cleaning up every day with new towels.
Review 87:rooms where nothing like what your sight shows the room was dirty the floor was all lose kept tripping up the shower & toilet was a disgrace the shower door was all water damaged and patched up don't know how you get away with showing pictures of a room that is nothing like the one we had the room was also damp and smelt musty we wont be coming back to your hotel i will also be putting photos up of the room so people can see what they are really like
Review 88:view from window
Review 89:They nearly took my payment in advance twice causing a panicked late night call to them and my bank which didn't get resolved till I got there which was a concern.
Review 90:Hotel was booked purely for a bed at the end of the night as I would be spending very little time in the hotel so all I was looking for was cleanliness and a good location and both were ideal.
Review 91:The room was tony and had no window outside. Well, i could see outside by standing in front of the wc. That was the only one, which was 40cm x 50cm
Review 92:Location
Review 93:The room of the toilet was so tiny, that I had problems to get in there and close the door! Furthermore the breakfast wasn't included in the price, they charge EUR 7.50 extra for it (not sure if that's custom in Amsterdam).
Review 94:The location of the hotel is perfect. You can reach everything by foot within 30 minutes and nice cafés are nearby to enjoy a more quite breakfast.
Review 95:One of those places with very steep stairs, beds are very small but the location more than made up for this
Review 96:location. Lovely and quiet by a canal while just south of Rembrandtsplein and 10min walk from Leidseplein which are 2 of the 3 places you'll be going out at night. Also the no 4 tram stops RIGHT outside which takes you to the station.
Review 97:The Room was very very small and bare. It would have been fine with me, but it cost approximately $350 U.S. dollars per night. It was too expensive for the amenities.
Review 98:The staff was great and very polite and helpful. I asked for a small fan and one was provided. The hotel is not air-conditioned.
Review 99:was put in another property for first night, raw sewage came through shower drain when toilet flushed (sink in shower also), so both were unusable. No phone, TV didn't work, asked for double bed, came with 3 singles. No air conditioning
Review 100:by canals and close to Rembrandt Square and close to everything
Review 101:Stairs very narrow to and from the hotel room; very difficult to climb with heavy luggage. Breakfast far too expensive for what provided.
Review 102:Good position central to the city of Amsterdam. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 103:room small, price too expensive
Review 104:Before we book the room , please tell us the room is not a hotel,is a townhouse in another side, not feel like a hotel at all, and price is dear.
Review 105:Small bathroom (cupboard) and very soft bed. But they made good use of the space which is hard to find in Amsterdam
Review 106:Great location, right next to tram stop, nice walk into town. The staff were really nice and helpful and they have bikes available to rent at good price. Thumbs up!!
Review 107:We were staying in a building across the road from the main hotel which was quite deceptive. We had to climb four flights of narrow stairs to reach our room on the top floor which was incredibly hot even with the fan on. It made sleeping at night very difficult.
Review 108:The room and bathroom was clean and there were new towels every day. I was happy to have an ensuite bathroom despite its small size. The staff members were very friendly and helpful too.
Review 109:Shared bathrooms and shower (but the hotel clearly states this before you book)
Review 110:Rooms were clean, approx. 15 minute walk for the centre and staff were friendly
Review 111:No wifi, basement room with a window as big as a book looking at the vents to the hotel
Review 112:Near restaurants, 15-20 min walk to dam square so got to have a good look around.
Review 113:Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean (in the room and in the toilet and in the shower room). Towels were changed every day. Fast wi-fi.
Review 114:Lack of service from the staff. For example we were placed on the third floor and had to negotiate a steep and narrow circular staircase with large bags with no assistance from the staff. No ice in the summer??? Bathrooms were basically a shower stall with a toilet.
Review 115:Location on the canal with restaurants and bars very close.
Review 116:The standard of the hotel room was not reflected accurately by the pictures provided online. The cleanliness of the room was sub par.
Review 117:The staff were friendly, the location was good, quiet, but not far away from the action
Review 118:The bathroom was very cramped and small and not at all private. Could also do with a kettle, mini fridge ect.
Review 119:Location was great (just around the corner from Rembrandt square). Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly enough.
Review 120:We stayed for 5 days, would of been useful to have a mini fridge in the room. Would of been nice to have a view of the canal and wasn't warned it was a building site before we arrived.
Review 121:Fantastic location, saw some beautiful sites as we walked into central from the hotel. Good size room comfy bed good size bathroom.
Review 122:For what I paid, all I got was a small room. Towels are provided but breakfast cost extra. Upon arrival my card was charged €20 for "authentication" purposes which was refunded in a couple of days...but why is this required..? Also upon arrival extra fees and charges are added. Staff not very helpful
Review 123:Small but comfortable room. Bed was very soft (could be a good thing or a bad). Having a TV was nice and clean towels every night was pleasant too
Review 124:wifi do not work at all, room keys did not work had to get them replaced everyday and they we're renovating so could not see anything out the windows was very noisy and the builders kept poking there heads in the windows all throughout the day.
Review 125:Location was great !
Review 126:The wifi was weak, in fact, the last day we couldn't get it at all. Fortunately lots of places in Amsterdam have free wifi so I got it at the restaurant. The front desk clerk told us the taxi to the airport would be $39 Euros and that it would take VISA. Not! We got to the airport and it was about $48 and he didn't take plastic. So we had to go in to the airport and use the ATM which then cost us $50 because the exchange rate was higher there. Not happy about that.
Review 127:The room was small but nice. The beds were comfortable. It was a quaint old Amsterdam type building which added to our likes. The location was great...right on a busy canal and close to Rembrandt Square where lots of night spots were.
Review 128:No bad experiences, I just wish the staff were more consistent because every time you come downstairs there is an all new person at reception.
Review 129:Well situated on the Prinsengracht right next to a tram line and great shopping area. Good views from the rooms at an amazingly reasonable price. I come back here time and again.
Review 130:The room didn't look like the one on photos. It was very basic. The wall was covered in painted chipboard. The toilet was to small to close the door behind you. Thought that it was not good enough for the price we paid.
Review 131:The location was very good. The hotel was not too busy. The receptionists were helpful. The bed was comfortable and there was hot water in the shower.
Review 132:No curtains in room so not good if you want a lie in. Room we were given was underneath a communal balcony and with two roof windows we could see people above being very noisy playing music and stamping around and I'm sure they could see in too. One window was directly above the shower! On our last day builders were above before 9am having only got in a 6am this was not welcomed!
Review 133:Friendly staff. Clean room
Review 134:Rooms completely different than the picture. The walls are thin so can hear everything going on in the next room. Internet only works on the first floor.
Review 135:Very good staff
Review 136:The stairways was a killer. You have to be strong to move your luggage( if a big one) up the narrow stairs. Rooms were very small but manageable. What can you expect, the hotels are all expensive in Amsterdam.
Review 137:Friendly staff & Location
Review 138:Please don't stay on room 21 and 22( health and safety = zero). Verytinny room no windows, no ventilation, smelly and noisy and water pipesaround the wall, I felt claustrophobic. I have to stay in room 21 for 2days and last day I was transferred to a room on the top floor. 10Pm astaff knock my door to wake me up because in regards the buildingrefurbishment. Also the windows views is covered of scaffondding andbuilders. I am sorry to say my experience was extremely poor. Pleasedon't let they do the same think to other.
Review 139:Guys drilling into our windows at 8am, knocking on our window and asking us to leave it open while they painted it, blue netting and scaffolding in front of our window blocking out the entire view. ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING WE WE GOING TO STAY ON A BUILDING SITE.
Review 140:The staff were lovely, especially the guy on the reception during the night, he had great advice about what to do and where to go. Location was nice and central. WiFi worked.
