Review 1：The bed was very hard. We requested a different room, but they were full. So they added a topper to try and make us as comfortable as possible.
Review 2：The location is great! Walking distance to the marina and tons of great food options! The staff did their best to make us comfortable.
Review 3：Booked at 9pm for same night on booking.com, which said the hotel had 5 rooms free. Arrived at hotel to be told there were no rooms. Booking.com often says that there are rooms when there aren't any, we were told. But the receptionist found a room, which was comfortable and clean with a nice hot shower, so all's well that ends well ...

Review 5：the only bad thing, we arrived on Saturday night and the music from a nearby nightclub was super loud until about 3:00 am. I was in room 705. My son was next door and he said it didn't bother him, but his AC was loud. we checked out the following Friday and music was not a problem any other evening.
Review 6：this hotel met all expectations. this is a budget hotel, rooms were basic, but very clean, comfy beds, unlimited fresh drinking water available, breakfast was plentiful and tasty, plenty of hot water and decent towels and soaps, shampoo, etc. there is no hairdryers or TV's. our wifi was good. the location of the hotel is terrific. we were very happy we had selected this property after having debated several. other people we met in Cabo told us they wished they had stayed closer to downtown instead of one of the more luxurious resorts farther out
Review 7：The room smells a bit like some one peed in the room. The breakfaststaff is quite unfriendly, and a bit greedy. Breakfast was includedin my booking but they do not give you any drink together with thebreakfast. They also have this outrageous rate of exchange, theyasked me $2 for 20 pesos (the hotel official exchange rate is 1 usd= 15 pesos)

Review 11：This was not a bad experience, but the beds are quite firm and pillows are small. I think that this is perhaps associated with being in a hurricane zone -- mattresses are really foam pads that can get wet and dry again without being a total loss. Lighting in the room was somewhat primitive, but sitting out on your private patio under the palm fronds and stars made up for it.
Review 12：Absolutely beautiful traditional Mexican architecture. Arches, exquisite plantings, and nice tile work. The restaurant/bar was very comfortable, shady, and open-air architecture. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a deal with a cab (vans) company to schedule you for rides to the airport for a very fair price at exactly the time they say they will pick you up. The rooms are large and the bath had the best shower I have seen in a long time. The hotel is about three blocks from the marina where there is a nice walkway (malecon) with restaurants there and also lots of eateries near the hotel.

Review 18：Everything's lovely.. two steps form Cabo Wabo and short walking distance from bars and clubs. You can reach Medano beach in 20 mins walking. The staff is absolutely the BEST, very kind, friendly and helpful in every occasion.

Once when I ordered the "free" American breakfast and they wanted to charge me for it because I asked for eggs over easy instead of scrambled, and again when i checked out they said I had booked and paid for only three nights instead of four. Fortunately I know a bit of Spanish and had the paperwork proving I'd booked and paid for four nights.Also, the a/c unit was located directly over the door to the balcony and one couldn't avoid getting wet from condensation dripping from the unit whenever going out on the balcony.

I did feel IN FAMILY plus all the other guest....that they are always going for years, they are also friendly. The Hotel Mar de Cortez is A VERY SPECIAL HOTEL FOR ALL AGES, VERY WELL LOCATED...FOR ALL ACTIVITIES!!!!
Review 22：Booked a room with a King bed which we were told didn't exist. The first room had no electric outlet in the bathroom, and only one plug in the room altogether. Moved to another room which leaked water through the roof from the rain. Asked for a mini fridge when booked 90 days in advance & were told none were available when arrived. Finally got one a couple days later which constantly clicked on & off very loudly, not good when trying to sleep. Very poor lighting in our room. Beds left much to be desired. Bathroom as a whole left much to be desired. Internet was terrible @ best when it even worked. No TV ??Restaurant breakfast was terrible & we feel was the cause of us & other guests becoming ill for our final 4-5 days of our stay. This hotel has so much potential to be a premier place to stay in historic downtown Cabo.

Hector and Reggie Marco the staff in the restaurant and the reservation ladies are the best and just so patient . Review 35：The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the hub of things, yet perfectly quiet at night as it has its own courtyard. The pool was lovely, the rooms all had there own porches and the value for money is outstanding.

Review 39：We did not like the person that worked at the pharmacy located in the hotel. Person that worked there was very rude. The manager of the pharmacy was very nice and he did take care of us.
Review 40：The girls at the front desk were excellent and very professional! They really took care of us. They helped us with our reservations with kayaking, snorkeling and sailing. They would call change our times when needed. The security personal was also always visible and very pleasant. They all work very hard. We loved our stay there and we look forward to going back next year.

Review 59：The staff was excellent! The room includes all you need while in cabo, who watches TV while in cabo? Not I. The pool and outside facilities were good, too. Check out was at 12 but our flight back wasn't until 7:30 so they stored our luggage for us while we enjoyed another day out on the beach and even provided us with a shower and towels before leaving. Excellent service and at this price, you really cannot beat it the deal. It's a few blocks from the marina and on the main strip, a block from tourist shops and a couple blocks from clubs and all that! Stay here if you want to come to cabo and enjoy all that cabo has to offer without spending extra money on things you don't need in your room such as TVs and 1200 different lights in your room. Beach/Pool towels and lock boxes are provided free of charge.

One of the security guys attacked another hotel guest for no reason with a stick( guess it was a misunderstanding, but he should start talking before hitting persons)!!! Moreover our room was really loud. I could hear everything from the mainstreet, including the cars, trucks and music outside.

Review 79：Cabo wabo is literally around the corner so it's very loud. The people who stay at this hotel are LOUD drinkers. Some nights I heard people partying and yelling until 3-4am! When the drunks shut up the rooster started at around 4-5am. You have to turn on the noisy AC to drown out the sounds. The hotel rooms are old. They're clean but old. Just didn't give me a comfy feeling. I just didn't like Cabo, not my scene.

There are compact car taxis but they seem to only accommodate the locals and won't stop for you if you try to flag them down. And the vans like to charge tourists all they can get.
