Reviews for Diamond Hotel Philippines

Review 1:I made a cash down payment upon check in. Based on the information given to me by the check-in clerk, it was clear that the down payment is more than what I should be paying (based on the online rate). However, when I checked out, a new girl in the counter said that the down payment was exactly what I needed to pay and that I will not be receiving anymore change. I was not satisfied with the information and asked her to check again. Finally, it was determined that I had a few pesos change from my down payment. when I asked why she said that the amount was exactly what I needed to pay, she said it was some kind of entry error.

Review 2:the staff were all courteous.

Review 3:As one of the more expensive hotels, I was disappointed that Wifi was limited to 10 hrs a day without an extra charge and the food was extremely expensive for the Philippines. overall it was a good experience but not worth the price.

Review 4:The room, and hotel where both of a high standard. The staff where friendly and helpful.

Review 5:It is showing its age. The decor is outdated. The carpets were dirty and were already separating in the edges. I saw drop marks on the bathroom wall that I did not dare touch. The lobby is too small. What used to be a lobby is now a buffet restaurant. It smelled of cigarette smoke everywhere, in and out of the hotel. Crappy service, except maybe the front desk. My party and I tried to eat at the cafe, there were 7 of us. The restaurant was practically empty. The receptionist told us that the manager told her that they can't move tables or chairs anymore for some reason or another. There was one lady alone in that bigger table who was browsing on her phone, and obviously not planning on leaving soon. I don't get how they can make customers wait when the restaurant is empty and have the gall to tell us that they really did not want to move tables and chairs to accommodate us! We ended up leaving the hotel to eat somewhere else outside the hotel. In the evening a housekeeper knocked on our door asking us if we wanted turn down service. I said no, but give me the chocolates. She was hesitant and said ok, because it is New Year's Eve, she will give them to me. She made it sound like I owed her a favor for giving me chocolates. I found out that in my mom's and brother's rooms, they were not given the chocolates, and my mom was not even offered turn down service. (I got 3 rooms.) It's not the chocolates, but they way service was offered. Never again.

Review 6:Hotel offers one price to Filipinos and a higher price to foreigners. Premier rooms have been renovated, but Deluxe rooms look run down

Review 7:Nice view and large rooms

Review 8:Good but I wish have Variety of breakfast selection. I requested for room facing Manila Bay. However not able to get it. Ask the FO to update me is any available or any chance to be transferred but nobody informed me.

Review 9:Price quite competitive. Got side view of the Bay.

Review 10:Price is steep considering that the hotel is aged. It's currently undergoing discreet upgrading works. Repairs starts as early as 830am well into 1am in the night. For all 3 nights I hear dragging, knocking through the walls. Front office tried to brush me off with the story that there's a family with kids staying just above me. Water pressure is very low.

Review 11:The rates for and in the hotel are high in comparison to what you get. Especially the club is not offering the variety which one might expect. At check out I was charged PHP 10.000 more than the rate mentioned on my reservation. I was sorry for the nice staff who has to deal with this problem.

Review 12:The location, the swimming pool and the spah/health club. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is nice though the rates are a little bit over.

Review 13:I enjoyed my two night stay. Your staffs are helpful and nice. They attended to my request promptly and with a smile. Especially the housekeeping personnel at the floor 17.

Review 14:I booked through booking.com and at the time of payment i had to pay almost 34% extra due to many hidden charges. The facility is getting old and it need repair, specially the fixtures in bathroom and the carpet in the corridor need to be change.

Review 15:The staffs are very helpful and attentive

Review 16:The staff didn't smile. They were plain faced with no expression. For such a nice place, this was a surprise. The facilities seemed a bit old and worn.

Review 17:Very good location near the US Embassy.

Review 18:Your doctor is not in the hotel. His office hour starts late! Remove the 2 ceiling domes of the lobby that echo when guest are under them. Imagine talking to the bell boy nearby with echo.

Review 19:Bed

Review 20:Breakfast for all the guest that we declared during the reservation process were not all included in the room rate hence you have to pay extra every time you eat . This should be spelled out clearly during reservation.

Review 21:The room was perfect for our meeds as a family, it was spacious with a nice view. You have choices for bed sizes including a full size one! The staff were very nice and helpful!

Review 22:Upon checking in the workers at the front counter were not welcoming, Kinda snobbish and snooty.

Review 23:The food in the club lounge was delicious.Staff in the club lounge were very nice and accommodating.

Review 24:I booked thru booking.com for three rooms in preparation for the wedding of my brother.the booking was supposedly for three days.the night before august 7, I received an e-mail from booking.com that Diamond Hotel rejected my credit card for the two rooms yet confirmed one room. I obliged immediately thru booking.com to fill in my new credit card.Seconds later I received an e-mail that my booking is confirmed with the new modifications. The following day, when checking in at the hotel, I was told that my reservations were not confirmed hence I had no room. They were telling me that I can have another room based on their published rates which was twice than the rates I booked at booking.com. It was a bad ordeal because I was with my family. Just imagine the horror if this happens to anyone. I already filed a complaint at booking.com about this incident. They again confirmed to me that all my booking with Diamond Hotel is validated. So far I have not received any follow-up report from Diamond Hotel.

Review 25:The food. The room service spaghetti meat was black in color. Breakfast staff was very unattending and uninterested . We don't eat pork so it was difficult finding options for the kids in breakfast. And open listening to our concerns the hostess said "sorry, here is your bill sir." Spoke to the food and beverage manager who very apologetic.

Review 26:The hotel is generally clean and staff at he front desk friendly

Review 27:The cleanene, ought to be be paid an attention to it , when ever the Rooms or the toilets to be made, hence, the same thing, I had expected while staying in 2 different swuits, (( the Consurebd stuff are swear of that ))

Review 28:Every, thing,

Review 29:we we're not allowed to checkout early, wifi is limited to 10h, there was no Bluetooth speaker, bath towel is thin, TV did not have HD channels and nothing great with the breakfast

Review 30:Most of the staff doenst greet me! Doesnt say goodmorning! Only the security guard who inspect the car before they enter in the hotel! Im thinking may be im filipino thats why i recieve kind of hospitality? I feel that im not welcome to ur hotel! Even in the elevator they have two staff with me . I dont recieve any greetings! My room is 1823 and all the time i smell the food which is not good in the 5stAr hotel. It must be a good smell.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Complimentary drink was only a choice of juices as our room wasn't ready even though we checked in at 5pm. 5star hotel should of any drink as complimentary not just a choice of juice.

Review 33:Staff are really friendly and courtesies to your needs. Rooms are big and cleaned daily.

Review 34:Wasn't happy with the way the breakfast room was being cleared at 9:45 am. Knew that it will finish at 10am but the staff made me feel to hurry and leave.

Review 35:None at all. Good, we enjoyed our stay.

Review 36:Staffs were accomodating, hospitable, respectful, smiling and attentive to our needs. Spacious room, good food. Accesible place, had fun strolling Roxas Blvd, first time for my grandchildren to go strolling. They had fun swimming. I'll rate Diamond Hotel as one of the best we've been. Thank you.

Review 37:Lack of services included in the room rate. Be prepared to pay extra for airport transfer, breakfasts, Internet (if in excess to the established limit). Restorant could be better for the price.

Review 38:Robust hotel everything seems to be thought through for you. Excessive security on arrival make no-one unwanted to disturb. Rooms are of a good design.

Review 39:Pool not deep enough for most adults. Not enough healthy choices on the menu at the restaurant/in room service.

Review 40:Always felt pampered. Always welcome and it was genuine not that fake tyoe of welcome you get at most posh places.

Review 41:I entered my room and it smelled as if it was an old house. It was clean but add an odor. It have been in the carpet or drapes.

Review 42:The Hotel location was great. The staff was always friendly and helpful.

Review 43:The food in the Japanese restaurant and buffet isn't very good considering the prices you pay.

Review 44:The staff are excellent. Very friendly and attentive. The pool is great for small children.

Review 45:The staff very good , food but the best thing I liked was the security! It was very good and u felt 100 per cent safe I've been lucky to stay in some lovely hotel I can confirm this hotel really is the best

Review 46:Location is good .. but there wasn't any special walking map to venture around the place .. especially since I was there over the Easter holiday period .. could have visited the nearby heritage attractions and great beautiful churches

Review 47:FOOD

Review 48:What I didn't like was that the hotel requires its guests to deposit payment for an additional day on top of the booked stay upon check-in. We were not informed of this policy upon completing our booking through Booking.com, nor can it be found on the hotel's website.

Review 49:My family and I stayed in a Deluxe Twin room for 3 days and 2 nights. The room facilities were excellent, the staff were very attentive and kind, the hotel amenities and restos were grand, and each nook of the hotel was spotless. The Management was also very thoughtful, as they sent us cakes in celebration of my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary. The location of the hotel is quite accessible; it is found near major establishments and recreational areas.

Review 50:I booked and paid this hotel a month ahead. When i check out they wanted to see my credith card. One day lather they charged a huge amount from my card. I dont know why and there is still no money on my acount. Eaven if i have been Complaying

Review 51:The Business Center is old school and really a arid off. They charge you outrageous printing charges and computer usage charges. Be aware that this is a small business center with very little service.

Review 52:The location is very good. The staff was very helpful and responsive. And, the room was great!

Review 53:Room service food very mediocre. Average buffet/western restaurant.

Review 54:Location and general ambiance is classy. Very friendly staff. Excellentjapanese restaurant. Excellent coffee and cakes made on the premises

Review 55:I was very ill and needed to cut my stay short. Management was unaccommodating and would not allow me to chaI was being sarcastic to him.and in all honesty wanted to see if he believes her at all. Just testing himnge my reservation.since I booked for an entire week and can no longer stay for the remainder of my reservation I was still charged for the entire length of reservation. I send management proof of hospitalization and it was disregarded. Poor delivery of customer service. Will not recommend this hotel.

Review 56:This hotel is paranoid about security and has appointed security staff (not authorised, or police) outside its entrance that check your bags with a sniffer dog, look inside your bags as you enter, and make you walk through a security detector. A bit like at an airport. As the staff are not police, or immigration officials, or in any other way authorised officially to search people walking in and out, this is very intrusive. When we asked what they were looking for, the staff could not answer. "anything dangerous" was the answer. An umbrella perhaps? The can be pointy. (!) And you are not allowed to take your bags outside the hotel to wait for your taxi until you have been given a special tag for clearance by the desk clerk as you pay your bill and check out. If this is somehow meant to reassure those who are paranoid about security, it certainly misfired for us. We felt like we were in some kind of prison. As for our room, it was nice and clean, but we got "upgraded" to a room with only one double bed. Not much good when there are five of you, We finally got three extra beds put in the room free och charge, which I think was only reasonably, since we had booked enough beds initially and did not get this. But these beds were quite hard and nowhere near as comfortable as you expect from a four star hotel.

Review 57:We originally booked for 1 night but were forced to book a room the night before because of road closures. The charge for the extra night was higher than the cost of the first night. Hotel could have made arrangements to transport guests to the hotel from the nearest parking space.

Review 58:Room and hotel facilities were above par. Hotel was conveniently located as it was near sites where we could see the Pope

Review 59:Pope was visiting in Manila and it caused many kind of problems in the hotel and around. Food finished totally when having a club dinner! Key card was not coded for a club room.

Review 60:Generally ok, especially if there are no VIP customers (like some cardinals).

Review 61:I have stayed at the diamond hotel every visit over the past 2/3 years and it never disappoints!! The staff are so helpful, pleasant and welcoming. And the breakfasts are fantastic, tummy busting events!! Can't say enough good things about this place!!!

Review 62:is far from the mall centre and the is expensive little bit and the wi fi is not that fast

Review 63:the hotel is very good and clean the stuff all time they charming and kind

Review 64:There was something lacking in the room. It was definitely equipped with everything necessary to make anyone's stay comfortable but maybe it could've been more modern since the lobby is so elegant, maybe the rooms could use a little more upgrading.

Review 65:Was in Manila to attend a wedding and I decided to stay at the Diamond Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised of how beautiful the property was (especially the lobby) and the view directly outlooks into Manila Bay. I was surprised because I hadn't heard of Diamond Hotel before. And it isn't as expensive as Manila Hotel, for example.

Review 66:I found being accosted by security every time I had to go through the entrance, having my bag searched and being made to walk through a scanner very confronting. I guess this is because of the number of diplomats that frequent the place. Vegetarian options on the room service menu are limited and some descriptions for this diet inaccurate, according to the Western definition, anyway. One "vegetarian" dish includes seafood in its listed ingredients.

Review 67:All staff were friendly. The rooms were clean.

Review 68:My bad experience was that our reserved room was Executive suite but we were only given 1 free breakfast each of the two rooms .

Review 69:The hotel location and facilities are perfect for us

Review 70:For a hotel of 5 stars there should not be a cheap plastic shower curtain anymore in the bathroom.

Review 71:The room was comfy with a nice bayview. The Hotel has a very strict security police at the front door which is good. I was early but there was a room ready. Great buffets for lunch and dinner (I checked out very early and i had no breakfast booked) Will book again. Good value for money.

Review 72:Wifi was offline never worked for me during my 1 night stay.

Review 73:Great service lets us check in very early was only expecting to leave my bags. Comfort view and tranquil stay. Will stay again excellent value for classy hotel. Pool was cool too.

Review 74:The room was old, musty and badly needing an overall refurbishment. There is no multi-purpose socket. Also there is no socket near the bed for charging the mobile. You provide an iron that has a different plug to the socket but no adaptor. Wifi is terrible. Also the 3G reception in the room

Review 75:The Staff! Very polite and helpful. Breakfast! Fairly good spread and very helpful kitchen staff.

Review 76:overzealous personnel. my request was so clear and yet 3 diff persons ask same questions when they can just wait and clear it when I check in.

Review 77:the security and accessibity and view of the manila bay.

Review 78:Upon checking in, nobody bothered to offer help for our luggage. The person at the counter seemed too busy and had forgotten how to smile.. When I tried to order the bathrobe as a souvenir, it was hard to contact 1105. And the person there did not know the price. The robe was also unpacked. What was given to me appear to have been used and was only placed inside a laundry bag. The ladies at the check in counter are not friendly and assume a snobbish aura.

Review 79:I liked the person who volunteered to assist us with our luggage upon checking out. Although we did not ask for it. Also liked the pool personnel

Review 80:The crew at the front desk do not have the same knowledge and rules when it comes to parking ticket validation, due to this we were almost late to the wedding that we need to attend, on my high heels and long gown they even asked me to go back to the front desk for ticket validation which the night before I've asked them if I need to have my parking ticket validated and they said no need I can validate it upon check out, there is no elevator from parking to the front desk.

Review 81:We are place on 26 th flr which is noisy for sleeping at night.we cannot sleep early..we like the bands but we also needs a rest a bit early.i hope we can stay there at lower floor next time:)

Review 82:We like the food, the staffs and the ambiance.

Review 83:Having to leave.

Review 84:The hotel is managed to a very high standard which is evident in the quality of the staff, rooms and facilities. Money has been well spent on their head chef, as the quality of food is amazing. If you are looking for a high quality hotel in Manila that is reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend the Diamond Hotel.

Review 85:Everything could not fault a thing. Was up graded to the Diamond Club and staff could not do enough for you,Security was first class and having a butler each night turn your bed down was a nice touch. Will differently return to Diamond Hotel

Review 86:Our family had 2 rooms we were put on different floors . Our room keys only worked on our floors.upon check out I was told by iya (great customer service ) that they could have validated out keys for both floors. Next time we'll make sure to do that ;)

Review 87:The staff at diamond hot was amazingly kind . I loved how they always had a smile on their face and NeVER seemed to get irritated with their guest. Ricardo at the pool bar was amazing! The front desk was also very pleasent ! We will staying here again!

Review 88:Bathroom weighing scale not operational. Staff at the lobby areselective in some aspects, like they always open the entrance or exitdoor for foreign guests but not always for locals. Security personnel atthe entrance door do body search for all local guests upon entry but notalways for foreigners, and it feels very very disappointing to me.... Sounfair and so discriminating....

Review 89:Every thing at this hotel was great. Loved the roof top bar and pool. Everything you need is not far from the hotel. Great restaurants and shopping not far. The staff were excellent. only thing was the pillows were not the best to sleep on.

Review 90:No Wifi in room - unbelievable for a 5-star hotel at this price Somewhat annoying security on entry, with frisking, dog sniffing and bag checks

Review 91:Clean room with comfortable sheets and bed.

Review 92:The price for the food is so expensive .. Coffeeshop lobby prices is to much when having coffee alone compare to other top hotels in manila .. Breakfast not to good .. Not satisfied ..

Review 93:Our room .. The view is breathtaking.. My kids loved it so much..

Review 94:I was on the 24th floor and the rising traffic noise meant I needed ear plugs in to sleep, but then I am a light sleeper!

Review 95:Executive floors gave space and degree of privacy from crowded lobby and public spaces below. Food was good, but not exceptional. Gym was good, well equipped, if a little small. Staff were helpful and business like.

Review 96:Road noise rose to 23th floor, making it hard to sleep. But I live in the countryside at home, so inevitable I suppose. Gym on the small side, but equipment in good condition.

Review 97:Executive lounge on Floor 25 was very useful. Premium room was well equipped. Very polite staff.

Review 98:Surrounding area is very busy and low key

Review 99:Lovely hotel. Great decor and staff in club rooms

Review 100:shower handle trouble

Review 101:location...staff are nice..probably will need refurbishments of room soon..

Review 102:The wifi is only free for 10hrs in a day

Review 103:Mediocre breakfast at ridiculous $28 price. Run down rooms Unhelpful management Stains on countertops
