Reviews for Hunchy Hideaway
Review 1:I wish there had been a hairdryer in my room. I was able to obtain one from reception but I expected one in my room as the room had all other creature comforts.
Review 2:Great location and ambience, friendly and helpful staff. We loved the breakfast provisions and scones on arrival. It was clean and comfortable. Great experience.
Review 3:A lot of people might thing that some fixtures are a little outdated, but if you're on a romantic getaway, you really should be focusing your energies elsewhere...
Review 4:Loved the Hunchy Hideaway! When I booked I thought, well this looks like it could be good for a couple of days off the grid. And my expectations were surpassed - lovely facilities, scenery, immersion in nature, the little things like fresh flowers, chocolates & breakfast provisions.
Review 5:Lovely quiet and secluded location. Roses, afternoon tea and Breakfast was wonderful. The closeness of nature and facilities were very lovely. The first impression walking through the door was wonderful. My wife loved the place and we relaxed immediately we walked through the door. Great short stay.
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:Beautiful view from the balcony The ability to chill out with no one in close proximity to the country cottage Relaxing in the jacuzzi The beautiful roses in vases Candles prepared for use The fireplace ready light The heart shaped scones with jam and cream All made a romantic place to be
Review 8:The sounds of the birds and the brush turkey scratching around as well as visits from the two resident cats were a delight. Our breakfasts were much appreciated.
Review 9:I didn't realise there was a pay for two and stay for three.
Review 10:The receptionist was most welcoming. Location and privacy was was superb. Quality of food and presentations is simply ten out of ten.
Review 11:Biting insects.
Review 12:Seclusion, comfort and very friendly owner. Breakfast was suplied which included cereal, yoghurt, bread, bacon,, eggs tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, butter, milk, juice, and scones, jam and cream. This was a lovely surprise as we had been advised by Booking.com that this was not in our package. Five minute drive to Montville and many other attractions. Wonderful 4 days.
Review 13:Leaving!
Review 14:Spectacular views, magnificent sunsets. Everything we needed was there,to escape and enjoy a very comfortable, quiet stay away. Many thanks to Ali n Dennis, for letting us enjoy their cottage.
Review 15:Nothing.
Review 16:The staff were lovely and happy to help out in any way. Room was just what we wanted. Loved the spa bath! We didn't feel bad about using it because all waste water is treated and used on the gardens. Breakfast was great and contained so much more than we expected. The trip to the waterfall is not for anyone who doesn't have sneakers or a at least a moderate level or fitness...it's pretty adventurous. Everything is secluded and private which made things special.
Review 17:My newly wed husband and I went for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for anything better! The cabin was amazing in a tranquil setting and had everything you could ask for in a relaxing getaway! Greeted with scones for afternoon tea at check in and items for a cooked breakfast for a couple of days. You also get visited by local wildlife including brush turkeys and possums. Loved everything!
Review 18:Nothing really, maybe the 100m + walk to the cabin with luggage .
Review 19:Peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Provisions on arrival for breakfast. Walk down to waterfall and creek. Spa bath. Wildlife. Close to Montville restaurants. Staff-friendly and helpful.
Review 20:There is not much to dislike, perhaps the thing that I expected was that there would be a view, maybe over a valley, but the villas are set in a heavily treed area affording little or no view. The only other thing would be the walk to the waterfall was a little too adventurous for us. Again, I got the impression that it would be reasonably accessable, but found that an amount of clambering was involved, so didn't actually make it to the waterfall.
Review 21:From the moment we stepped inside the villa we started to relax. We arrived to freshly cut roses and home made scones with fresh cream and jam. The villa is open plan and beautifully set out with the bed on a raised platform overlooking the living area and spa. It is light and airy with a private balcony. After a luxurious spa it was nice to wrap ourselves up in the fluffy bathrobes provided and sit by the fire. Breakfast was provided as was a BBQ on which to cook it. The tame possoms were fun to interact with, munching there way through any fruit or bread that we could spare for them. I would gladly recommend Hunchy Hideaway to couples of all ages. An awesome place to get away from it all and relax.
Review 22:The only thing wrong was there was no blind on the window by the bed in the Gumnut Cottage, so the sun woke us up early.
Review 23:Loved the peacefulness and relaxing in the spa and next to the fire. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast provided was nice. Very close to Montville and Maleny for day trips.

Review 46:Everything
Review 47:The atmosphere for getting away. Staff did come to the cabin unless you request it
Review 48:I loved their attention to detail. The roses, Chocolates, music, candles. The breakfast hamper lasted for the three days. It was so quiet. So lovely.
Review 49:The bathroom was in dire need of renovation, the shower and faucets had lots of calcium build up around them - most likely because of the bore water - and the toilet would continue to run when flushed as the float would stick in the cistern. The couch was too small and uncomfortable, it wasn't a great place to sit with your partner for a romantic evening in front of the fire
Review 50:The cabin was fantastic, the fire at night combined with the forest surrounds, the nightlife came right up to the front door, the sounds of the creek and waterfall at night were all very relaxing. The spa was fantastic.
Review 51:We love Hunchy Hideaway! It holds so many special memories for us. 10 years ago we spent our honeymoon here & we have loved every moment yet again. It is such a relaxing & peaceful place & the attention to detail made our stay just that bit more special. Review 52:Take some DVD's, the satellite TV is limited as are the loan DVD's.
Review 53:This was our 2nd stay at Hunchy in the Fig Tree cottage. We love the seclusion, the rainforest surrounds, the mooing cows. The cottage is a large one with a full kitchen, huge shower and spa bath. Bed is very comfy, breakfast supplied plentiful and yummy.
Review 54:Outdated info on local restaurants. One from 2008! Very uncomfortable bed/ mattress. Lots of squeaks when sat on it to put on shoes. Did not think hole cut into bathroom very hygienic as smells from toilet waft into kitchen.
Review 55:Cabins located in amongst the trees. Owners left us in peace. Privacy and relaxation wonderful. Short bush walk to waterfall marked to help locate it.
Review 56:Noise from Neighbours Large tree that could fall on your car, or cabin. Carrying all your luggages down and up the hill.
Review 57:Privacy, Breakfast, Spa.
Review 58:Nothing...but next time we stay there we will make sure we have nothing else to go so we can spend more time there to relax.

Review 60:Beautiful setting, everything there that we needed, private, double spa was great, a 2 minute drive into Montville. Very comfortable, relaxing and great food.
Review 61:couldn'T fault A thing.
Review 62:It was everyting we could have asked for. Attention to detail superb. Great supply of food (breakfast) and condiments for the four day stay. The extras of tea light candles, roses, bath robes, fire place and ongoing supply of supplies to light fire. The cabin was spotlessly clean so too the BBQ on the back patio. Informaton in the visitor's book supplied by the owner was extremely helpful.
Review 63:Amazing surroundings with rainforest, birdsongs and the sounds of a waterfall. Warm, romantic suite with privacy and a relaxing atmosphere. Brilliant value for money.
Review 64:Before we even walked into our little cottage at this amazing, secluded little place, we made up our minds to go back again the same time next year. Warm and cozy, relaxing and peaceful...completely amazing! The scones on arrival were completely delicious. The two-day breakfast basket lasted us for four days, and was all fantastic.
Review 65:I loved the setting, clever design of the cottage and the cleanliness and the fod supplied especially the muesli and yoghurt, will come back just for that alone. The privacy added to the relaxation and the owners were very helpful - overall - we were very impressed.
Review 66:What a wonderful place!! The view from our little house was amazing!! The hot tub was great to relax in after the drive there and just to have a few drinks and relax while looking out over the moutains.
