Reviews for Hotel de Echoput
Review 1:The air conditioning wasn't working well, which resultes in a partly sleepless night, the room temp was too hot. The TV didn't have the English channels, but the staff said it was temporary and apollogised.
Review 2:Everything was just as we expected - really modern, comfortable and pretty.
Review 3:It took a little bit less than 2 hours before we got our main dish. Even when being an evening out so not being in a hurry, this is far too long.
Review 4:Rooms are excellent: spacious, complete and a luxury touch. The diner was very enjoyable, beautiful dishes, good quality and creative combinations.
Review 5:Nothing whatsoever.
Review 6:Really lovely welcome - very friendly receptionist apologised that restaurant was closed on a Monday but bar open for food - absolutely no problem with that - some of the best food ever - quality & service superb - couldn't fault it - excellent wine recommendation from waiter who really seemed to want to please and was brilliant at his job. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough - two shower heads in fantastic bathroom - only found this hotel by accident through Booking.com and have stayed at two other hotels in Apeldoorn before but wouldn't go anywhere else now and will definitely be returning - one of my favourite hotels ever !
Review 7:I was expecting it to be in a quiet place, so that I can enjoy a relaxing evening. However, the main road passes just in front, so spending the evening on the terace was not as expected.
Review 8:Prices are too high for value Setting is a bit dull and dark Too much is missing for a five star experience
Review 9:Nice pool Great surroundings for nature trips by walk or bike
Review 10:You will need transport to go anywhere as it's out of town. The spa recommended on the website is miles away - like half am hour's drive. Also what's not mentioned anywhere which is a bit weird if you're not Dutch is that it's unisex and fully naked. Food expensive.
Review 11:Nice, modern rooms, gym, pool, sauna. Nice food. Helpful staff.
Review 12:Breakfast options very poor. If you want a quick bite, and do not want to pay EUR 22.50 for breakfast per person, there is not much else on offer, and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 13:Dinner was excellent, the staff were superb. The swimming pool / sauna in the basement was a great place to relax.
Review 14:The staff had difficulties with the breakfast-rush (waiting for a table, waiting for a plate, waiting for eggs, waiting for marmalade cups etc) but handled it with a big smile as always :)
Review 15:The staff is very helpfull and friendly, the restaurant serves superb exiting food.
Review 16:the staff is very friendly and polite but appears to be a bit over-trained on using standard phrases that make their conversations sound very unnatural and rather robotic. Let people use their own words and words of today not from ancient times
Review 17:Location, food, room size, bathroom
Review 18:slow wifi
Review 19:Fantastic combination of a family stay (swimming pool, forrest walks) and a wonderful diner à deux in the restaurant (Michelin is right!). Restaurant staff was great.
Review 20:No massage or treatments available. Breakfast was over too quickly in the morning. Empty minibar in the standard room. No complementary water bottles.
Review 21:The scenery around the hotel was gorgeous and the hotel itself was really wonderful. All the facilities of a modern 5 star hotel yet not so big and still keeps the local charm.
Review 22:The hotel is a bit "stark" with the design and color scheme. The breakfast was truly bad and meager (and expensive), especially for a hotel with a reputation for good food. Unfortunately, my bed was a hammock and I had a bad first night before I moved to another room where the bed was marginally better, some people would love the soft beds but people with weak backs should not sleep in super soft beds.
Review 23:I loved the location, the food is excellent and the staff was incredibly helpful. I felt very welcome. Perfect place to relax, walk and enjoy good food and nature
Review 24:Nothing, Everything was perfect
Review 25:This was a wonderful stay. The hotel staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. Thanks for looking after our party of Blind/Visually Impaired & deaf guests.
Review 26:Breakfast a disaster: - uninterested rude staff - very cold scrambled eggs - empty buffet all the time - hard cheap quality old rolls - no water in coffe machine - no hot milk for coffee - cold boiled eggs - no butter No, mr Klosse, the breakfast and even worse the staff serving the breakfast must be monitored also. This is a part of the experience as well. A deception is the only applicable word.
Review 27:Surroundings
Review 28:The pillows didn't suit me at all. I couldn't turn my neck the next day. A bit more privacy in the bathroom would be nice. The semi-open concept might make it difficult for friends to share a room.
Review 29:The 2-star restaurant, stylish design of the hotel, great quality breakfast, free parking, location in the woods, view of the woods from our room.
Review 30:The sauna needs better flooring, unfortunately I slipped whilst in there and hurt my toe :-( it didnt ruin my stay but i did mention it to staff and they were very apologetic about the incident.
Review 31:Great service, really friendly and attentitive staff. Good room service menu and awesome decor of the rooms. very modern and spacious
Review 32:It was very cold in its design with granite floors, iron doors and the walls painted black. Black and red curtains made the room feel more like a cell than somewhere to relax. The restaurant menu was not appealing, offering dishes like Dove and Tame Rabbit - maybe bad translations, but nothing appealed.
Review 33:Loved the brasserie menu and the staff were friendly and helpful. The setting was magnificent - set amongst the trees and beautiful forest. It was quiet and peaceful. Plenty of parking available and everywhere was very clean. Nice shop in the reception too.
Review 34:Very comfortable and spacious suites. Great Service Excellent restaurant Late check out service until 5pm is a great idea, especially for short stays!
Review 35:The 10 euros surcharge for room service was exorbitant. The doona was a bit too warm for comfort. A simple sheet+blanket would have been better.
Review 36:Bed was very nice
Review 37:This is not a hotel I would recommend for business travel; wifi was not available anywhere in the hotel, except 1mt from the reception desk. No mobile reception at all. Great for a get away from it all break but NOT if you needed to be in business contact
Review 38:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service excellent
Review 39:Great diner experience & restaurant staff
Review 40:Restaurant
Review 41:Expected a little more from the sauna.
Review 42:Great service, beautiful location.
Review 43:A very pleasant hotel with excellent staff and in the heart of beautiful woodland.
Review 44:Det var et fortryllende sted, we will come back
Review 45:No safebox in room.
Review 46:Location
Review 47:No coffee making facilities. Breakfast was expensive
Review 48:Lovely big rooms
Review 49:Appalling (read: no) wifi connection
Review 50:Trendy, clean rooms. Lovely beds. Nice location for hiking in the woods.
Review 51:very slow wifi, swimming pool small, rooms at front side are noisy because of road!!!
Review 52:problems with billing at checkout
Review 53:decor and location
Review 54:Restaurant was fantastic. Sommelier was top knotch.
Review 55:breakfast not worth 22 euros, maybe 5 euros as a continental breakfast
Review 56:bed, bathroom, shower and balcony
Review 57:Overall too hot in the hotel and restaurant.
Review 58:Excellent service and excellent restaurant!
Review 59:Nothing....
Review 60:Everything....
Review 61:Truly a boutique hotel with well appointed very modern rooms. A very courteous and accommodating staff.
Review 62:Quiet, peaceful, relaxing
Review 63:Gym small, not taken care off Breakfast very expensive , for what you get.
Review 64:Good location
Review 65:I got an impression that the hotel gastronomique restaurant is the focus of the management attention. For example, the hotel needs better maintenance, and the service was not as smooth as it should be (in spite of the good will of the staff). The bill at checkout was not itemized and was difficult to check. The hotel is situated next to a busy road. The windows in the rooms which face the road must be closed to block the noise.
Review 66:Very large room, comfortable bathroom and bed. Surrounded by nature. Very close to Apenheul, which was the purpose of our stay. Nice indoor swimming pool, which we enjoyed very much. The staff was very friendly and made best effort to make us comfortable.
Review 67:For us the biggest downside to this hotel was the fact that the whole hotel has tiled flooring, which makes it very noisy. We requested a quiet room and the staff assured us that the part of the hotel we were staying in was in fact the quietest, but this was certainly not the case. We very easily heard almost everything from the pool area below us, as well as from the people above us and next to us. Additionally every door that was opened in the hallway or people walking there we could hear very well because of the echo. Our main goal for going away that weekend was for some rest and relaxation and peace and quiet. Unfortunately this was not always possible because of all the sounds coming from around the room. We asked the staff if they could help us out with this but they said there was nothing they could do as the hotel was fully booked. This was probably true, but nevertheless a shame.
Review 68:The location was good, close to some nice areas to walk in the woods. Proximity to Apeldoorn is also a plus. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was friendly. Other reviewers have complained about the quality of the breakfast for how much it costs, we found it to be comparable to many nice hotels we've stayed at in terms of what the buffet offered, especially since the room itself wasn't that expensive.
Review 69:nothing, everything was just perfect
Review 70:Everything, great big bright rooms, big bath, double shower, big comfortable beds, great helpful staff, nice big sunny balcony, toilet separate from bathroom. One of the better places I ever stayed. Great value for money. Hotel is situated in the middle of the forest
Review 71:Staff is to unexperienced for a 5 star hotel. First night there was a wedding party till 1 am with loud music. No information upfront about it. Reception desk made excuses and would leave us a small present which they forgot about. Second day restaurant staff was playing soccer and hitting guest cars. Breakfast is good but expensive. No staff to be found and coffee machine broke down. Wedding anniversary wasn't as luxurious as one should be allowed to expect from a so called 5 star hotel.
Review 72:Grand echo put room is huge and has a nice bathroom. Swimming pool and sauna are ok.
Review 73:no coffee/tea facilities in the room; the price for breakfast
Review 74:Restaurant, swimming pool, room with a lot of comfort (little terrace outside) and space
Review 75:Breakfast buffet is poor Certainly no value for money
Review 76:Beautiful designed luxury hotel Good value for money Friendly coöperative staff Excellent restaurant
Review 77:The room appeared not to be cleaned fully when we arrived. Hair stillleft in sink. No kettle in the room had to specially ask for it. Alsothe tea available was very poor and the room service tea was even notdrinkable. On our last night water was even leaking in through thewindow. We had to put a towel on the floor.
Review 78:Staff in hotel bistro very helpful and courteous. Our order did takelong to arrive. The location close to the royal palace is ideal.
Review 79:Pillows lumpy and uncomfortable, shower jets washed the wall rather thanyou and couldn't be redirected and the shower didn't drain.Toilet would be much improved by a mirror and somewhere by the basin toput the soap to wash your hands.
Review 80:Very elegant and fantastic overall design
Review 81:We did get the wrong room (a smaller one than we made reservations for). My boyfriend called the receptionist and asked whether we did get the correct room. Within a few minutes we did get the correct room.
Review 82:Very good restaurant with a beautiful hotel. Personnel is friendly en veru helpful. Was a nice stay! And we would definitely come back.
Review 83:Fantastic location in the middle of the woods. Rooms were big, quit and all the facilities availeble. Breakfastroom was small, but perfect. Nice and friendly staff.
Review 84:When we arrived we were told that both the restaurant and the bistrowere fully booked and we would not be able to eat at the hotel. Althoughwe knew that the restaurant has a good reputation and therefore bound tobe busy, we had assumed that at least in the bistro there would be a fewtables set aside for hotel guests. Since this was not the case, it wouldbe nice if the hotel could warn people that they need to book a table inthe hotel. The restaurant booked for us by the hotel staff was verynice, but with a hotel in fairly remote surroundings, it would behelpful to know these things in advance.
Review 85:Nice room with little extra touches (chocolates, fruit etc), nicesurroundings, helpful staff.
Review 86:You cannot really close the bathroom door (it is like metal gate) so itmight be a little disturbing to sleep just next to open batroom. It wasmy second stay and second time during checkout they made a mistake. Lasttime the amount on the bill and the amount charged to credit card didnot match. And this time they counted city tax for 2 persons although Iwas alone.
Review 87:The hotel is in very nice area - in the middle of the forest. Restaurant(Brasserie) is very good. Rooms are nice and comfortable.
Review 88:The price for breakfast was outrageous - yes there was an ok smallbuffet but nothing special to merit over £20 and this fact alone willstop me from staying there again unfortunately
Review 89:The food at dinner & breakfast was extremely disappointing. Theevening meal on Saturday was in every way a disaster & the food wasnot gastronomic in any way. We sat down at 7.30pm but did not get ourmain courses till after 10pm!!! There was no apology for this & we canonly assume they were overstretched by a function elsewhere in thehotel. My veal was inedible as it was so tough. It firstly arrivedcold &as close to raw as can be so sent it back. In the end it wentback to the kitchen three times & ended up a tasteless stirfy! Ourvegetarian friend was left hungry by the paucity of her meal which wasjust the side vegetables to my husband's main course. Breakfast wasexpensive especially given it was very ordinary & poorly served. Wedid not eat there again & would never go back. Other facilities werereasonable but the whole experience was that the hotel really didn'tcare to deal with problems.
Review 90:The location was very good. We hired their bikes & were able to take avery lovely ride on Sunday straight from the hotel..
Review 91:We really enjoyed the design of the hotel room, also the restaurant was overwhelming good. The waiters where kind and polite and though it's kind a expensive restaurant, it's worth every penny.
Review 92:Breakfast is too expensive
Review 93:Nice location in the forest
Review 94:not clean bad smell in room very poor facilities very dirty gym broken gym
Review 95:Gym equipment badly needs to be updated, phone reception can be problematic
Review 96:Great rooms, clean, good food, nice pool
Review 97:everything - the room, the food and the service
Review 98:Nice size room Comfortable bed Balcony Great service Excellent food
Review 99:Air condition wasn't functioning well
Review 100:Great suites, excellent restaurant, very peaceful location but still close enough to the city
Review 101:22,50€ for breakfast is way to much. I will not buy breakfast next time I stay at this hotel.
Review 102:The room, service and staff was perfect.
Review 103:The midnight fire alarm and no staff on hand. Poor lighting around fire escapes.
Review 104:Cool athmosphere, relaxed environment and good food.
Review 105:ontbijt op zaterdag tot 10:30
Review 106:overdadige luxe, waar je ook bent
Review 107:Perfect location
Review 108:Building is somewhat intimidating with black concrete but you can't do much about that!
Review 109:Welcome by the staff which was excellent
Review 110:perfect location and marvelous diner
Review 111:The whole ambience was superb.
Review 112:Staff Service Restaurant Room Design

Review 116:almost everything
Review 117:Wonderful, helpful staff. Delightful dinner.
