Reviews for Bastion Hotel Apeldoorn Het Loo
Review 1:The room was very clean, but moving the twin beds together revealed dust hidden underneath.
Review 2:Great location, extremely nice and helpful staff, even a swimming pool (although a bit shallow). The fireplace in the lounge makes a nice atmosphere
Review 3:The hotel has a certain 1980s/ American motel feeling. The restaurant is below average and would not recommend eating there.
Review 4:The hotel is located in the nice area of Apeldoorn, close to the royal palace Het Loo. The staff was nice and helpful. The room and the bathroom were very spacious.
Review 5:There is no room service, if u want something u have to go by yourself to collect it
Review 6:Comfort on bed Calm place The design of the hotel Peautiful area
Review 7:Showerhose was broken; airco switch broken; no milk in the room for coffee or tea; at breakfast no pepper & salt on the table; no boiling water for tea at breakfast - when I asked for boiling water I was told 'that it would take a while because something else was on the stove'..... is there only one stove....in a hotel????????
Review 8:Location is excellent
Review 9:I had to take 7 different glasses or cups to find a clean one. Same thing with plates and forks etc... I also found hair in the beds. Definitely not a 4 stars hotel value... Looks like a prison inside and the bedroom as well
Review 10:Really nice staff that helped us with our questions. we got an upgraded room to a suite so that was nice. the bed was really big and comfortable. Could walk in to the centrum/station but we had bags and was in a hurry so we took the bus. the bus station was right outside the hotel.
Review 11:My one negative experience was due to the comprehensive guide to the hotel in my room. It said breakfast was served until 09:00 and I woke up at 08:55, too late for breakfast. When I was checking out I saw signs saying breakfast was served until 10:00. If I had known, I would certainly have tried the breakfast. The reception staff were apologetic that I had not been told on check-in. When I return for a break I look forward to trying the breakfast.
Review 12:The picture did not do it justice. The hotel was excellent, comfortable and in a great location. I particularly enjoyed the first rate steam room and swimming pool after a long day of driving. I booked at the last minute while I was on the road without knowing anything about the delightful town or the hotel and did not have time to take full advantage of either.I will definitely return for a holiday there and bring friends.
Review 13:"Upgraded" to bigger room, but rather soulless and in rear of property which was accessed via very dirty and dated corridor network. Breakfast was very basic and a let down. Not a lot on offer, rather untidy with staff appearing not quite sure what to do. Perhaps a manager or supervision was absent.
Review 14:Exterior and reception all rather pleasant, and very handy for paleis het loo.
Review 15:The food in the restaurant, breakfast and evening meal was plentiful but I felt a little over priced.
Review 16:The room was spotless and very comfortable and there were coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The TV had all channels including UK and the Wifi was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 17:High quality service, friendly, attentive staff, excellent facilities and in a perfect location (Next door to the Royal Palace, so quality neighbours!)
Review 18:The room was nothing like the pic on the website from booking.com. Toilet and shower basic and I found cups in my room and also the coffee cups at breakfast to be dirty.
Review 19:It was convenient to where I had to work.
Review 20:they only have single beds. not twins, and not doubles, unless you book the most expensive suite. you can push two singles together but its not very comfortable if you are sharing with your partner.
Review 21:hotel is clean, well appointed, staff are very helpful.
Review 22:Dinner was disgusting with terrible service, head waiter walking about but doing nothing, we saw that 4 tables from the 5 that were occupied were unhappy and 3 returned their meals. Mattresses were thin and not comfortable, under beds and under furniture in dinning room dirty, only 1/4 roll of toilet paper in toilet, no hand soap in toilet, only one shower towel. This hotel is very low budget with 2 stars being plenty.
Review 23:Wifi good, breakfast good, morning personnel.
Review 24:Geen
Review 25:Fijne ruime kamer en badkamer, zwembad en centrale locatie. Op loopafstand van centrum Apeldoorn en Paleis het Loo. 25 min van Kroller Muller met de auto.
Review 26:There was a single bottle of 200 cl mineral water in the room as a welcome gift from the hotel. I can't imagine how we will share it between two guests. If you try to impress the visitors, than do it properly. Two guests two bottles. The staff was reserved and to all the questions about transportation referred us to the train station, the electronic system of public transport and so on. And they could just check the Internet, they do speak the language. There was an amendment to the train schedule and we were transferred by bus to Amersfoort, so if we didn't leave early we would have missed our flight. No other restaurants near by.
Review 27:The hotel is ten minutes walking to the palace and its park, but one will probably prefer to use the buses to get to the city center. We needed more than 30 minutes walk from the train station. Nice hotel. Our room was spacious. Excellent wireless connection.
Review 28:The room was dusty, bed and bedding need upgrade as well as the shower curtain. No lamps beside or above bed. Certainly not 4 star rating!
Review 29:The location is wonderful - close to Palace and town centre...so walking around is good. Lovely decor in the lobby and restaurant area.
Review 30:One end of the swimming pool is a little too shallow - you hit your leg on the bottom when trying to swim
Review 31:The staff were very, very helpful amd friendly, looking up the trains for disrutions, printing of my boarding pass, ordering taxis
Review 32:The key to our room stopped working which I found very annoying, I did not like the fact that breakfast is not included in the normal room rate. It's too expensive. This hotel changed its name a number of years ago from 'Bloemink' to 'Het Loo', but has anyone thought of the fact that 'loo' means 'toilet' in the English language.....? My daughter was really surprised about this name-she thought it is very strange and I think others will think so too.
Review 33:The rooms are spacious, parking is no problem and free of charge, wifi is good and free of charge, the swimming pool is very nice, our bathroom was very nice and modern with walk in shower.
Review 34:We assumed that the room was not so much frequent because it smelled musty. Mattresses were too thin and soft. No mini-bar, the mini-fridge exists but it was empty. No soap for washing hands, very small bath gel sachet.
Review 35:Very close to Het Loo palace. Staff friendly and helpful. Free wifi in all areas.
Review 36:All was good, maybe can just add that there's no fridge in room, to cool down a beer you need to order it from room service.
Review 37:Roomy room, big bathroom, all very new and clean. 5 min ride by bus from Marktplein and 3 bus lines and a bus every 5 minutes near hotel.
Review 38:- no king or queen size beds - mattresses were to thin and soft - restaurant very mediocre: they were out of the special (rib-eye); I ordered a "regular" steak medium-rare and got the first one done well - only one red wine (Merlot)
Review 39:- spa area with pool and turkish bath - breakfast
Review 40:Pictures of the room looks better than the reality. Old style room and picture was modern. Hairdryer did not work and they did not fix it
Review 41:Free sauna and swimming pool
Review 42:For a 4 star hotel our expectations were pretty high. I am not sure why is a 4 star hotel though. No mini-bar, the mini-fridge exists but it was empty. No slippers or any bath gown. No hot water tap for the second day so it was a delight to make a cold shower. The breakfast was very poor. We assumed that the room was not so much frequent because there was a tick layer of dust on the leather chairs and also on the TV stand. During the night, the air conditional made a terrible noise among other kinds of noises. So bring your ear-plugs if you have any. I would never stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was not included in the room rate so we paid without breakfast 177 euro for 2 nights. That's outrageous. I forgot to mention about the wardrobe closet. Very "stylish' indeed. No doors at all, just two pieces of wooden shelves which were a bit separated (don't know why). It was a terrible experience.
Review 43:Having dinner was quite nice. The food was good even we've waited a little bit longer to bring it. The location was nice, very close to Het Loo palace.
Review 44:We arrived early and our room was not ready, what we understood. Returning much later (after 4pm) our room was not available yet. We needed to wait for some time. When I requested extra half hour for check out, was said we needed to pay extra.
Review 45:The location is perfect if you want to visit Het Loo Palace.
Review 46:Whilst the room was very spacious with nice balcony the room servicing was not to 4 star standard.
Review 47:Proximity to Het Loo Palace (400 m)and the Kroller-Muller Museum (10 Km). Also frequent bus service in Apeldoorn across the way from the hotel. Evening meals of good standard and a very useful indoor pool.
Review 48:The staff were very friendly and spoke very well in English . The hotel is beautifully decorated and is a stone's throw from the Palace grounds.
Review 49:Goof valur for money
Review 50:The beds are a bit soft to our taste (but that's personal)
