Reviews for Bilderberg Hotel De Keizerskroon

Review 1:The room, Very old. Bath is dirty and no seperate shower. So your standing in the dirty bath and trying not to touch anything. mold and bad lighting. Also a bad smell in the room. I will not stay here again. Waste of money.

Review 2:Lobby and location.

Review 3:There's nothing that this hotel offers that I didn't like.

Review 4:A well deserved 10/10.Unable to fault this hotel, from the staff to the decor, the food to the pool ..... Perfection!

Review 5:Small and poorly equipped gym Dated room decor Retention of traditional room keys with no auto close locking

Review 6:Welcoming and helpful staff Great breakfast Good location with nearby walking paths Quality restaurants

Review 7:On the night there was some noise come from a water pump. When they are fully booked it is a bit busy: no towels on the swimming pool despite I call them.

Review 8:The kindness of personnel, the confort of the room, very big and very clean. WIFI for free. Parking for free. Nice swimming pool on the roof. Good breakfast and good restaurant. Nice location.

Review 9:1. The garage is very messy, not enough space to easy put you ebike. 2. The new lobby is not cosy, very grey and static. So nobody wants to sit there. 3. The entrance is a temporary entrance which is very small and not enough staff available for checkin and checkout 4. Old bathroom 5. Inpersonal breakfast: they eg dont ask if you like coffee or tea, too many guest in a small breakfast room. A three star hotel, but four star prices.

Review 10:Location near Apeldoorn center and het Loo.

Review 11:Hotel charged my credit card before the stay, not part of the deal. Quiet location also means somewhat isolated, no shops around for instance and far from city centre. Hotel was undergoing construction works, so quality of rooms will probably get better - place does feel a bit old now indeed.

Review 12:Quiet location in residential area. Excellent breakfast. Big, clean room and bathroom. Stylish.

Review 13:The hotel is clean, but decoration is dated. Breakfast was nice, but quite expensive (15 Euro) for what was offered.

Review 14:friendly service, comfortable beds

Review 15:I recall reading that it was on walking distance to city center. Well, everything is relative, but it is not. Chose this hotel for the pool. Constructions, no pool. Would have chosen other hotel in other city if I had known this

Review 16:Nice staff

Review 17:We did not like the early breakfast package we received the day we were leaving because we left before 07:00hrs in the morning. WE paid full price for the Breakfast which was 15 Euro and we did not get what we had requested the day previous. It was a total mess and the morning staff did not know what we wanted, we ended up throughing about 60% of it in the bin, what a waste and a waste of 30 euro. It spoiled a perfect couple of days we spent there.

Review 18:We liked the rooms, the staff, and the meals we had in the hotel.

Review 19:No a/c - it was quite warm outside and got a bit too warm in the room but as there were mosquitos around I didn't want to leave the balcony door open.

Review 20:Hotel staff was very friendly, food was excellent (we had the 4 course chef's tasting menu with wine pairing one night), room was lovely, indoor pool was great. Located very close to Het Loo.

Review 21:Poor WiFi (so slow we never got online).

Review 22:Absolutely perfect location, right next to 't Loo Palace. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet and a fine, atmospheric in-house restaurant.

Review 23:The wifi was really bad. We were promised free wifi and received a coupon with code. But the connection was disconnected by the system multiple times per day. Even when the wifi was working the speed was really poor, making watching a movie a bad experience. The system was requiring a entiirely new login with input of all user names and passwords each time it was disconnected which it did automatically all the time. Very much unconvenient and worse than most other HORECA entities. The hotel needs to come to the modern computer age and offer convenience, not old poor systems.

Review 24:The hotel works like clockwork, rooms are very nice and breakfast excellent

Review 25:Only one small point - I would like an option to switch on a brighter light in the bedroom

Review 26:The staff are friendly and efficient, The location is great for walking to the Palace and its grounds. A nearby bus service takes you into the train/bus station. The restaurant adjoining the bar serves high quality food at fair prices. The beds, duvets and the showers were all very good. We have stayed before and will stay again .

Review 27:The somewhat temporary nature of the room, which was normally used as a small meeting room, but then we had been fitted in at the last minute on a holiday weekend.

Review 28:The Reception staff were outstandingly helpful in finding the answers to our travel and shopping problems, such as to where to buy a computer and other things on Easter Monday. The dining room and breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient, even when we had not booked.

Review 29:Breakfast price is same for young children. This doesn't make sense. Can a child eat the same as an adult? Wifi signal very poor in the room. I was confused with the internet instructions and ended up not using internet at all during my stay. I recall, a few years back bicycles were offered either free or for a very small fee. I found the current daily fee of 11 euro for hiring a bicycle a bit too much. So this time we didn't use this service. Although well maintained, hotel hasn't been refurbished since 9-10 years ago.

Review 30:Staff is super friendly. Hotel is clean and in good location. We have stayed here twice in the past and would consider staying again in the future. Pool and sauna is definitely a plus.

Review 31:the birds outside started singing at 06:00, but that is ok I guess ;-)

Review 32:good staff, comfortable bed, very nice lounge with bar, good breakfast. Everything in order.

Review 33:stay away from any room directly underneath the pool/gym. From 7:00 - 23:00 every day you can hear people swimming and using the equipment

Review 34:very comfortable, modern rooms, amazing restaurant, right next door to the Het Loo Palace and grounds

Review 35:Though the building itself is an old one, the renovation is a success. Everything decorated with a good taste. The lobby of the hotel is really classy, clean, adapted to the environement of the area. Classy restaurant, bar. Friendly people working there ready anytime to help you and guide you. Pet friendly environement. My little dog had a great stay. Got some tasty cookies as a welcoming present. We had a superiour double room with a huge double bed and a fancy balcony. We enjoyed the swimmingpool and the sauna in the evening which was a blessing after a day of visiting the area. Good breakfast. We would go there a second or a third time. Simply great! A 3 minutes walk from the het loo castle which is a stonishing place to visit in Apeldoorn. 20 minutes drive from Deventer, a beautiful dutch city which is worth visiting.

Review 36:as mentioned by other reviewers, indeed the bathroom is a bit outdated (and therefore does not appear on the pictures) but nothing to be afraid of: it is still spacious, clean, works fine and feels robust

Review 37:location only 2min walking to paleis het loo, spacious room, comfortable bed, free parking

Review 38:Although the rooms have been refurbished, it would have been nice if the room door as well as bathroom door would have been renewed as well

Review 39:Excellent breakfast, very quite comfortable rooms. Great location

Review 40:WiFi didn't work too well.Old fashioned system. The cleaning and supply in the room was not very good.

Review 41:Old style.Nice suite. Very good location. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Good swimming pool and fitness

Review 42:bathroom large but a bit dated

Review 43:very attentive and kind personnel; clean hotel room and comfortable beds; nice dinner; free wifi; large swimming pool

Review 44:One of the most aaccomodating hotels we have ever stayed at. We were in Europe for a month and stayed at many high end hotels and enjoyed this hotel the most!

Review 45:Bed had 2 mattresses that came apart like half a meter during night. Room was clean but i did spot some spider nets in the bathroom... Pool is great size but water felt far from warm. Turkish steam room is very small and paid.

Review 46:Quiet location, huge room, very comfortable mattress and bed linen. Hotel has this retro feeling that i loved. Not walking distance from center but easy to drive and next door from palace.

Review 47:Far away from city center, in afluent residential area next to the palace. No nearby shops, just one posh restaurant right next to it. You pay for the internet

Review 48:Good hotel, big rooms, gym, great staff

Review 49:It is common for all rooms to have coffee facilities. Not having it in standard rooms is in poor contrast to much cheaper hotels that give equally good service and have such facilities in all rooms. Breakfast was noted by the absence of staff clearing crockery - no welcome, no offer of coffee, hardly the quality of a good hotel. Poor quality juice, bread good though. This hotel lacks style and flair. I would not recommend a stay for this price to others - can do much better elsewhere.

Review 50:Pleasant location in suburb and near forest

Review 51:The shower door is skinny and it's tough to shower without getting the sink and the floor wet

Review 52:Great location Friendly staff Delicious breakfast Comfortable beds and dark room

Review 53:It's a little bit oldfashioned and feels and smells a little old. Everything is clean and whole but feels a little off. The pool and gym feel very late 80's/early 90's. There was a big group of guests and not all facilities were available. The staff called ahead to tell us there was going to be a big group, but not that the facilities would be limited (restaurants closed, pool and gym not available except for between 7 -9 on sunday morning)

Review 54:Location, right at the side of the Loo Palace gardens. Friendly, helpfull staff

Review 55:Breakfast expensive particularly with limited choice for coeliac. Booked 2 rooms, one included breakfast in room rate one didn't - totally illogical! Menu choice for lunch/ evening also limited, would expect more of a hotel in this price range.

Review 56:Almost next door to Het Loo, pleasant staff, good car parking facilities, nice rooms.

Review 57:A shame the weather was so hot, as the room has no AC. Other than this a really great business stay.

Review 58:Staff attitude and courtesy in all depts Food Room size Bed comfort Bathroom size and amenities

Review 59:Breakfast

Review 60:Location

Review 61:our room wasn't made up at arrival

Review 62:we did get an upgrade for the dirty room

Review 63:Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location and free parking. Good breakfast with excellent choice.

Review 64:Bathroom needs renovation. Hard to climb in the bathtub to take a shower.

Review 65:The location close to many forest walks, swimming pool, staff

Review 66:Location, right next to the Royal Palace and park

Review 67:The complete professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

Review 68:As always a nice relaxing place to stay

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:Just excellent all round

Review 71:No tea/coffee making facility Poor lighting in room - but hotel is due to be refurbished.

Review 72:Location and quiet room with balcony

Review 73:Convenient for Het Loo Palace. Great swimming pool Good food.

Review 74:Very poor wifi, disconnect all the time, dont trust it for communication

Review 75:Brilliant hotel, great location, friendly staff, great food. Was really enjoyable stay highly recommended

Review 76:NIL !

Review 77:Quiet location; efficient and courteous 'team'; more than adequate comfort. A pleasure to visit.

Review 78:Relaxing atmosphere and perfect location

Review 79:comfort

Review 80:Everything

Review 81:Noise carries through walls Expensive breakfast

Review 82:Inexpensive rate Close to palace and within walking distance of center Modern decor in rooms

Review 83:Excellent choice and quality of continental breakfast. Beds very comfy

Review 84:Night time noise

Review 85:Helpful staff

Review 86:General atmosphere is public spaces is lod fashioned and out-dated

Review 87:Beds are ok Sleep is well

Review 88:facilities, location, restaurant, swimming pool. very friendly and helpful staff spacious reception, bar, restaurant, bedrooms

Review 89:the wifi was restricted

Review 90:Lack of free wi-fi in the rooms.

Review 91:Location right next to Het Loo, wonderful swimming pool, quiet and green setting.

Review 92:Tired decor Dated bathrooms

Review 93:Great breakfast Large rooms Comfortable common areas Proximity to the a Royal Park

Review 94:Very positive experience

Review 95:Excellent facilities, friendly staff who are very helpful (even translating Dutch websites) and right beside Palais Het Loos and National Park

Review 96:limited choice of wines by the glass

Review 97:Pleasant relaxed atmosphere in a nice green neighbourhood Staff at all levels were excellent. Comfortable beds and nice balcony for our room

Review 98:10 Euro/day for Internet!!! Really?

Review 99:Newly redecorated old-school hotel. A real key, someone serving your tea at breakfast, and a folder with information. Over all we had a pleasant stay with a friendly staff. A bit out of town (witch was surprisingly nice), but practically at the gates of Het Loo.

Review 100:The bed was very uncomfortable as it was two singles next to each other to make a double bed

Review 101:Friendly personel, nicely licated close to the castle, great balcony and bathtub

Review 102:Apart from wonderful Het Loo, Apeldoorn is not a particularly inspiring city. Nowadays access to Wifi should be free in principle.

Review 103:The pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking. Convenient location for Het Loo.

Review 104:very old fashion to ask money for a wifi connection in the room. this should ofcourse be free. for such a hotel i would also have expected a proper shower and not a step-in bathtub. everything was tidy but a bit dated. still i would recommend it for it's pro's.

Review 105:great staff, location and value for money (through booking.com)

Review 106:Beautiful areas to mingle in lounges and restaurants and pool, lovely large rooms (huge very comfortable beds) for when you dont want to mingle. Close to the Het Loo Palace, and only a few minutes to the centre of Apeldoorn for the market on Saturday and great shopping.

Review 107:This is a wonderfully pleasant hotel to stay in. The food is very good (hamburger best I have had in 30 years of living and travelling in Europe). Top floor swimming pool clean and airy and our room was large and tastefully decorated. Even comparing with the 5-star hotels which I stay in at least once a month in Germany, France, and the UK, Bilderberg Hotel stands right amongst the top 3 for me. And the staff at the reception were most helpful and willing. A five star rating from my wife and me all day. We visit again.

Review 108:- Breakfast was on the expensive side, no matter how good it was - These days, internet should come for free - was not the case...

Review 109:I already had a positive experience with Bilderberg in Amsterdam and this new stay with them in Apeldoorn confirms their standards. On top of it, a truly great staff, friendly, dedicated and professional, excellent food, very good location, ...

Review 110:Wifi was difficult as instructions were lacking. You must get a code from the front desk to use. This is a feature that is almost expected nowadays and paying for it is a bit startling. Two people - 3 pillows? That's an argument waiting to happen between a couple.

Review 111:The 1970's decor is well kept - at this point it is retro-chic, so an update would not be wise. It is right next door to Palais het Loo - amazing gardens approaching the likes of Versailles. Breakfast is nice.

Review 112:Everything! Fabulous hotel - luxury and comfort with friendly staff. Quiet location which is just a few minutes walk from Het Loo Palace and, for those willing to walk/bus around, Apenheul Primate Park is also easily accessible.

Review 113:Truly recommended. Wonderful service. Very polite. Great room. Near the Het-Loo palace. It is cheep to by tickets for the Het-Loo through hotel reception and saves the line for the palace.

Review 114:nothing

Review 115:Very pleasant. The 3-night package was an excellent value. We cycled in the Veluwe and could head out right from the hotel to the many trail options for cycling in the area. Apeldoorn is a beautiful small city, ideal for cycling. It was a short walk to the grounds of the Heit Loo palace from the hotel.

Review 116:The sound insulation on window and door facing the balcony is quite poor, so a lot of noise can come in during night or early morning (when they seem to have some regular delivery with trucks or trash take-out as well).

Review 117:Staff is very professional and friendly. The room was very clean. Hotel has an excellent restaurant. Breakfast is very varied and good (especially the raisin bread I look forward to every time I visit).

Review 118:Wifi was €3,00 per uur.

Review 120:We loved the friendly service we received from all the staff. They all went out of their way to help us and make it special. The room was lovely and spacious.

Review 121:Drinks in the bar very expensive

Review 122:All staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast in the morning and evening meals although quite expensive were excellent.

Review 123:The brasserie waiter didn't know the chef's special dish, which made us wonder about meal quality - unnecessarily as it happens. The coffee at breakfast was not as good as other places.

Review 124:The staff welcome was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. We could open the windows in the room. The breakfast was first class and the brasserie was a good place for an informal meal. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and just 100 metres from Het Loo palace.

Review 125:Fitness facilities are very poor, just 3 hometrainers. No free wifi, every hotel should have this!

Review 126:Location next to the Palace 't Loo. Excellent bistro. Comfortable beds.

Review 127:WiFi costs 10 euro pr. Hour, most other hotels have free Wifi nowadays.

Review 128:Lovely large room, wide comfortable beds, both bath and shower withseperate toilet. Excellent heated swimming pool.
