Reviews for Skogstad Hotel

Review 1:Hotel lobby was so cold with cold winds from the door every time it was opened. People had to sit with thei winter jackets on. Breakfast cannot be served at 8 when ski bus leaves at 8.40. Was very stressful as we want to be at the slopes when it opens. Lot of noise from music during the night. We were not informed of the this noise when we booked. Room was only cleaned once during our 4 night stay. We expect a hotel room to be cleaned every day. Otherwise we would book an apartment. Wet ski boots had to be brought to the room as ski room not heated. Lot of dirt and water in the room.

Review 2:Location was good, family room spacious but not enough hangers for wet skiing clothes. Nice with a fridge..if it worked

Review 3:I booked three persons but paid for 4th. Generally worn and dusty hotel , broken tiles on the bathroom , loose toilet seat, not possible to look out the windows due the eaves.

Review 4:Gratis Wi-Fi, massage stol i wellness

Review 5:This was a sad experience. I didn't have time to check up front, but I knew the hotel from back in time. Now it's time for renewal. No quality left... Sorry Skogstad.

Review 6:Location and staff...

Review 7:Missed some more to do at the hotel with the kids. The small village is based at downhill skiing but a swimmingpool should be good there.

Review 8:Central location. Nice and healthy breakfast.

Review 9:Same money will get you a five star hotel in any normal priced country, not hotels fault but 250 USD/night is ridiculous. Breakfast was barely ok but great and friendly staff.

Review 10:The beds was no good. Our room was very old and worn. Bad light

Review 11:We were lucky to get a room above the reception so internet worked in the room. Our friends in the other rooms had no internet access.

Review 12:No wifi in room Staff at breakfast looked like they were miserable. No sense of service.

Review 13:Reception staff fantastic!

Review 14:Pretty expensive for one night considered the Comfort and other offer at the hotel

Review 15:Centrally located in the city centre

Review 16:Beds where a bit bumpy No wifi in the bedrooms, only at the lobby No restaurant for an evening meal.

Review 17:Staff was nice, especially Paul in the bar!

Review 18:The hotel is tired and in need of an update.

Review 19:Location was good and staff helpful.

Review 20:a bit run down, no wifi in the room

Review 21:location, staff

Review 22:The bed was a disaster

Review 23:Location

Review 24:they have a free gym. nice atmosphere

Review 25:Poor facilities for skiers No room for gliding skis No facilities for drying boots Missing facilities in room for hanging up skiclothes

Review 26:The shower was NOT clean. !!!!!!!!

Review 27:The breakfast

Review 28:rooms were very small and unattractive very poor value for the money

Review 29:staff were friendly and helpful

Review 30:no wifi in the rooms.. This would be a big improvement

Review 31:all the staff, especially Cecily from Finland were great! Also the Campaneria Tapas restuarant was excellent

Review 32:The worst hotel bed I have experienced - ever (including the bed in ahut on a gorilla junge safari deep into a forest in Uganda..! And a"family room" not at all living up to neither expectations nornormal hotel standards with regards to both size and facilities. The"seating arangement" referred to on the web page was a smallarm chair, the small fridge was from the 80's and the room which wasnoise from both next door rooms and the street and bar was seriouslyrequiring a refurbishment. With a daily rate close to nok 3,000 I do notrecommend any one to book this hotel unless the only available room in acold winter storm. How the hotel can be rated to 6.9 avg I simply failto understand. My opinion has also been communicated directly to thehotel management...

Review 33:Out of the total staff the reception staff did an ok job. Catering staffwere spending most of the time sitting on the "bar counter"talking to each other during breakfast hours. Reception area, bar, restaurants other than breakfast area were all nice and wifi worked wellin the reception area.

Review 34:I booked and paid for a room with sitting group ( sofa and chair) but got only one Chair. Only option they gave me was an old room With two Chairs included a beer/vomit stinking wall-wall carpet . No mini bar in the room, not even a coffe/hot water kettle. Even in the hotel lobby it was not possible to get a cup of coffee ( machine broken). No Place to work on the skies ( waxing etc). In the bathroom the water flooded on the floor instead of going Down the drain.

Review 35:The breakfast was really bad and the hotel advertises free wifi which is only accessible from the lobby and really dodgy to use.

Review 36:The hotel is on a prime piece of real-estate and has excellent restaurants just seconds away on foot.

Review 37:Staff was very good and helpful. The wellness/fitness part of the hotel was clean, well outfitted and modern with wet and dry sauna. Relaxing in the steam was just what was needed after a day of snowboarding.

Review 38:We booked four bed room and were delighted to find two spacious bed rooms, quaintly decorated in the old style.. Breakfast was typical Norwegian fare,

Review 39:Spacious room . Considerate , insofar as I was resident longer than others at this time of year they ensured I had a more comfortable room with a pleasant outlook . Good buffet breakfast .

Review 40:The hotel is very shabby and needs a major overhaul! Stains in thecarpets and on ceilings, springs were poking through the mattress andvery uncomfortable. This place needs to be shutdown until repaired. The room was just plain gross and the bathroom was tiny and very old. There were no information or phone in the room, and no wifi in any ofthe rooms.Needless to say, we had a very uncomfortable night. This hotel was more like a hostel. The hotel photos are far more accurate! I think it's possibly the worse hotel I've ever stayed in. Do yourself a huge favour and go somewhere else It's genuinely horrific. Never again. Seriously, just don't do it.

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:Rooms are very dated, no internet in rooms - no luggage cart! It seems they just throw misc furniture into rooms - and its quite old..

Review 43:Excellent staff, great location in central Hemsedal, restaurant (even Sushi) and bar options in hotel. Nice breakfast included in room price. Short drive to ski mountain.

Review 44:Booked a double room but just had 2 twin beds next to each other but not attached, which means a gap in the middle which wasn't so comfortable. Room wasn't ready for check in until 5 pm.

Review 45:Great buffet breakfast, but would have preferred if it started a bit earlier, 8 am seemed a late start. Waitress in restaurant extremely friendly and nice, really great service!

Review 46:You should take the opportunity to promote and inform us about the offers at the hotel and the offers in Hemsedal. We used no special offers at this hotel because we had no information about what you offer. Brochure in the room in addition to TV

Review 47:Partying by neigbours. Was told by staff that they had guards that regulary checked night noise: Sack the guards, they did a bad job

Review 48:Spa and staff. The fact that the staff understood our complaint and tried to do something about it.

Review 49:Noisy, above a club

Review 50:Downtown location is good

Review 51:Poor cleanliness Noise from other rooms / guests Wifi Only in lobby
