Reviews for Inka Wonder

Review 1:The area in which to leave your luggage is not secure whatsoever however we didn't have an issue with storing our bags there (no valuables).

Review 2:The location was a 20 minute walk from the train station a 5 minute walk from where you could buy tickets for the bus to machu picchu. The rooftop breakfast was wonderful and made to order. The room was clean and they accommodated us for early check-in. The room was fine and amenities were good. It was in a great location to experience the city and right beside various markets/shopping and eating areas.

Review 3:The entrance was inside the building and easy to miss it. On the map from booking.com was on the other side of the road.

Review 4:River view from the room was nice:) it's only 30 seconds walk from bus terminal to Machu Picchu.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:The hostel is very well located just 2 minutes walking to bus and train station and it is just across the street from the "center of Machu Picchu". The view of my room (402) was spectacular!

Review 7:There was a problema with the shower.

Review 8:Well located in the city center and with helpful staff. A place just for resting before or after visiting Machu Picchu.

Review 9:The rooms are comfortable and have the basic for a short stay. This is not a 5 star hotel.

Review 10:Perfect location, just 5 minutes walking from the station. The staff is very attentive and very helpful. Some rooms have a view to the river, which is incredible.

Review 11:Don't forget your earplugs because some rooms are facing the torrent and are very noisy even with the windows closed. There was a hole in my bed sheet tho that didn't prevent me from sleeping. There is a 10% extra charge if you pay with credit card!!! It was indicated nowhere on booking.com, this is absolutely scandalous!!!

Review 12:Good location, right in front of the train railway, perfect to start your climb toward the Machu Picchu.

Review 13:Very close to the train station with nice room and nice employees And they picked us up at the train station though it's pretty close to the hotel

Review 14:The hostel sent a person from their staff to wait for us at the train station, which was nice. Our room was confortable, with a nice view of the river, the coffee was simple but good and the hostel is well located, by the train rail. Nothing to complain!

Review 15:The bathroom didn't work, just 2 min of hot water, the toilet water doesn't work, netheir the washinbasin. Some sewer smelt came from the toilet. You need to close the door and block sewer if you want to breath normally.

Review 16:There is a good view!

Review 17:This hostel needs Many Wonders to be nice and Worth the money. The rooms are certainly modern and quite confortable but.... Hâve you ever slept @ 5 in the morning With a water pump being activated by every single guest taking a shower or opening the water tap....The noise was louder than the noise of the train passing by . The next wonder is the breakfast room on the roof . it Is open Space and even open air , so take your coat and be there before 8 after It closes! Avoid the 4 th floor because early bird clients seem to have breafast in your room. Becareful they take 10 pourcent !!! when paying With a crédit card which is not written anywhere. I wonder again when i asked for the comment Book( which they suggest to fill out) It does not exist( or did they hide It?).

Review 18:WE claimed the cancellation of the cc fee and obtained It.

Review 19:Breakfast was a little bit poor.

Review 20:The guy waited for us on the train station. He was very helpful and explain everything in english and spanish :) Very cozy room.

Review 21:Second floor has a small 3inch like that I trip on coming out of my room

Review 22:Staff was very helpful with finding the place and where to go for food and ATMs location etc

Review 23:Room curtains were not wide enough to cover the entire window and were filled with mold. They sure could use a little cleaning. Although there were comfortable blankets, they were very dusty. Hot water takes ages to come out.

Review 24:Staff was very friendly. They came to pick us up in the train station to guide us to the hotel and kept our bags in the last day after check out so we could go up to Machu Picchu carrying only with the necessary. There is no luxury but you get what you've paid for.

Review 25:We arranged to be greeted at the train station but we didn't find our host so had to find it ourselves: Tip- ignore googlemaps and just follow the address, it's on the main street, find the door number.

Review 26:Nice room overlooking the river. Great location on the main street. Comfy beds, hot water, decent breakfast, friendly staff. Our bathroom smelt TERRIBLE though unfortunately.

Review 27:Hot water was inconsistent; half rooms had no view; so many stairs, breakfast slow (half cancelled to make first bus to mp)

Review 28:Across the street/railway from the main square; some rooms hadamazing view; though only 2 blocks away, pickup from rail station wasnice touch, helped us find hotel easily.

Review 29:If you are a light sleeper I'd recommend staying further from the river. Once the man at reception left, locals pulled in to sit on the couches in reception. They had no consideration for those sleeping and really made the experience unpleasant. The 2nd night we stayed there they let a dog into reception that barked continuously for over an hour. The people sitting around took no notice of the dog which we found really weird. The eggs served for breakfast tasted powered and were really not great.

Review 30:It's well located and our room had a lovely view of the river below. The staff were friendly, room was comfy and clean.

Review 31:The wifi wasn't working in our room (nº303)

Review 32:The hotel is close to the train station and some good restaurants. The breakfast is served from 4am to 8am and that was great since we went to Machu Picchu in the morning (5:30am).

Review 33:Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was the highlight for us. One of our group had a problem with his tourist immigration card and Edgar went out if his way to help out. Many thanks Edgar!

Review 34:Do not count on breakfast, aside from being very basic, we witnessed a rat running out of the kitchen (which is outdoors on a terrace).

Review 35:Decent room, comfortable, acomodating staff.

Review 36:Room: -noisy, noise coming from people and particularly staff in the staircase, loud phone ringtone of the reception that rings often and TV of the receptionist Breakfast: -some bread pieces with ridiculous pieces of cheese and ham -bad coffee and cheap juice Staff: -Almost no English during the day. Zero English during the night -My husband got really stomach sick during the night and I got zero help/interest whatsoever from staff Other: -10% extra charge by card! -no water to buy at reception (annoying at night since everywhere is closed and you can't drink from tap)

Review 37:Room: +Clean and fairly fresh Location: +close to Machu Picchu bus (but everywhere kind of is since it's a very small town)

Review 38:Security poor for bags left after checkout. I could tell mine had beenlooked into because they were left open. Breakfast was very light and wereally lost our appetites when 5 big black rats (yikes!) with 5 inchlong tails ran from behind the kitchen counter and scaled the stairs toparts unknown! The place they serve breakfast is on an open patio andthese rascals may actually live somewhere else but were justcruising' building to building. I would suggest they sacrifice oneguest room and turn it into the breakfast area.

Review 39:Beds were nice, plenty of blankets, room clean, staff friendly. Bathnice and modern, hot water! Couldn't be closer to a variety ofrestaurants, bus terminal and train station.

Review 40:There was a dog barking the entire night but I think all of the block heard him, so it doesn't have anything to do with the hotel

Review 41:It's very good for the price > It is cheap! Very friendly staff and good breakfast!

Review 42:there wasnt a wifi signal in the room. we had to go to the lobby to use the wifi.

Review 43:staff esp. Edgar was amazing. the view from the rooftop is superb, we just bought some bbq and booze and hang out there during the afternoon til evening.

Review 44:Beds were super hard.

Review 45:Prior to the trip the hotel manager arranged for us to purchase Machu Picchu tickets, including children's ticket that we could not purchase ourselves online at the government site.

Review 46:The toilet did have a problem flushing once but I was helped right away.

Review 47:We were met at train and walked to the hotel. Also we were able to check in around 10 am and then head straight to Macchu Picchu!

Review 48:Un excelente lugar muy cómodo y limpio, con un staff muy amable, sirven el desayuno a partir de las 4 a.m. para poder salir a machupicchu. bien localizado. es una excelente opción.

Review 49:Sink or toilet leaked lots of water. Issue brought up to receptionist but he only cleaned/dried it. However, water kept on leaking. I didn't ask for a different room since my siblings liked the view from our suite... Perhaps, they would have accommodated our request should we had asked... But the fact that they didn't attempt to resolve the root cause of the problem (leak) made me weary... Hence the not so positive experience. Final verdict: budget-friendly stay

Review 50:Staff was friendly and beds were comfortable! Great view from room... backpacker budget friendly.

Review 51:The wi-fi was spotty inside the rooms and only strong in the lobby. A minor inconvenience considering the cost and location. Not a place for light sleepers as the noise from within the hotel might bother those people. Especially from unruly kids with inattentive parents.

Review 52:The proprietor was a wonderfully kind and helpful person. He did everything he could to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Everything you need for a simple budget overnight is there.

Review 53:If your expecting a resort and room service and all the fixings good luck. Spend the money and stay on the mountain. If you want a clean place to sleep in comfort with great service and a hot shower stay here.

Review 54:The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms clean, the shower hot and strong. Even though I did not need it the TV was direct tv with all channels; great because there was soccer to watch. The breakfast served there was the most complete free breakfast I have ever had outside the U.S. We were a family group of 10 and were well taken care of.

Review 55:Good location. Owner even came to meet us from the train station so we didn't have to find our own way. Nice place to stay while visiting machu picchu.

Review 56:nadie dice que si pagas con tarjeta de crèdito te cobran la comisiòn. Es injusto porque es un beneficio para ellos tener ese servicio. // They do not inform in advance that paying with credit card has an additional charge, unacceptable given that they benefit from this service.

Review 57:Did not accept VISA and wanted cash upfront. One of the bathrooms had no hot water and the shower turned on when the sink fawcet was run. One room had terrible curtains and looked out onto the stairs. So everyone who walked up the stairs could see into our room.

Review 58:The television and WiFi worked good. One of the bathrooms had a hot shower. Beds were warm and comfortable. Good location to Machu Picchu bus. Breakfast was good.

Review 59:The noise echoes around the corridor so you know when all the other quests are arriving/leaving.

Review 60:Super close to the bus station. Good for what it was.

Review 61:Bad wifi connection in the rooms

Review 62:The rooms were nice clean and confortable. It is really close to the bus and train station and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The advice we got from the desk manager was excellent

Review 63:A higiene foi péssima. Pêlos no lençol, o banheiro entupido e cheirando a esgoto.

Review 65:We would have loved to have a window off the river. Otherwise nothing

Review 66:The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. They will tend to any need and make sure you know where everything is in the town. The rooms are clean and well kept and it is a good price. Breakfast is enough of what you need to start your day at Machu Picchu. It is right near the bus as well and is not loud

Review 67:No wifi in the room. Not a huge issue for us since we only spend a couple hours at the hotel to rest.

Review 68:Location. Staff was helpful and reached out to us to schedule a pick up from the train station to hotel. Very good price for the location. Decent room and we didn't come across any issues during our stay.

Review 69:No place to put luggage. Breakfast was cold cuts. however, there was plenty to make a sandwich for lunch, while visiting Machu Picchu.

Review 70:Great bed and location. Friendly staff. Very affordable. Hot shower. Able to store luggage for a late train ride home.

Review 71:Poor wifi. Edgar told me he was pinking me up at the train station but he never showed up. No scrambled eggs for breakfast as mentioned in the check in.

Review 72:Bed was confy, room in front of river with a nice view and sound of the water running through.

Review 73:Room was a bit cold with no heaters to rent so our clothes couldn't dry.

Review 74:The room was very clean and bright. The view was amazing overlooking the river. There are double paned windows that can close if the noise of the river is too loud. Breakfast on the roof was good, scrambled eggs, cheese ham, buns, coffee and tea with great views again. They will also meet you at the train station.

Review 75:Internet didn't really work, but that could be because of the cloudiness. The shower curtain rod fell down and almost fell on my boyfriend's head, but it didn't so I guess that's ok too.

Review 76:Staff were very nice and helpful. Location was great, it was affordable!

Review 77:Be aware that the rooms with nice views onto the plaza do not block out the occasionally heavy traffic noise.

Review 78:Nice old building in the middle of everything with a very friendly, helpful staff.

Review 79:Edgar was really helpful, and took good care of our group. He went and picked us up at the train station, and the rooms were really nice, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. I would definitely recommend Inka wonder.

Review 80:Wifi was very Bad Poor breakfast Room in front of the montagne was very noisy, because of the river

Review 81:Comfortable bed, clean room Hot water Man at front desk was very helpful, he came at the train station to pick up us

Review 82:Breakfast was OK, not great, but that is nitpicking.

Review 83:Aguas Calientes is nothing but tourist agencies, hotels and cafes. This place is right on the river. Look out the window at raging rapids. Brilliant. They met us at the train station and led us to the hotel. Necessary because when you get off the train you have to weave your way through a souvenir market. We could leave our bags while we visited Machu Picchu. breakfast is from 4am till 8 am. Tell you something?

Review 84:Breakfast was minimal: just toast, jam, coffee, tea and orange drink (not orange juice).

Review 85:The beds are very comfortableand the window opens to face the river which is so relaxing to fall asleep to.The room was very clean.

Review 86:Wifi was pretty bad at the room, and the hot water in the shower wasn't working very well. Also Breakfast was kinda "poor", besides the fresh prance juice served.

Review 87:Location is good, next to ATM, the main Swuare and the Handcraft Market.

Review 88:The breakfast was ok, nothing special. A few suggestions for the room: a second trashcan outside of the bathroom, a second mirror outside of the bathroom, hooks on the wall to hang towels.

Review 89:We had a great view of the river and I really enjoyed the river noise. Good location. Large, comfortable room. Edgar was a great guy. The staff resolved any problem that came up. Our shower had a problem the first day and they fixed it immediately. Our door also got stuck (and I was stuck inside!) but they came to work on it immediately. Good Wifi.

Review 90:Great view of the river Early breakfast, which was good for me who bought the 7AM ticket to climb up the Wayna Picchu The staff guy was pretty friendly and helped us a lot Close to the bus stop to Machu Picchu and the train station

Review 91:Our reservations had been made months in advance. We arrived late in the day and were offered a windowless room which we refused. After all the hotels reviews are largely based on the great views of the city. The next room had windows and a strong chemical odor. The wood work had recently been treated with preservative. No other choice was available. We reluctantly accepted it and threw open the windows and suffered the smell for the next two days.

Review 92:Easy access to historic down town. Beautiful historic building with period decor.

Review 93:The room was a bit cold. On the rooftop, where the breakfast was,I saw a rat. Staff didn' t speak English!

Review 94:Location was perfect, 2 minutes from bus station, from where buses head to Machu Picchu! The room overlooked to the Urubamba river. We got breakfast at 4 a.m.

Review 95:Floor was sticky. Door knob smeared with unidentified goo. Curtain didn't close fully. Wifi connection slow and weak when in room

Review 96:Staff are friendly. Very near to bus station to Machu Picchu.

Review 97:We were a little disappointed our room didn't overlook the river, but we didn't pay extra for that. (I would pay the extra if I had to do it over again.) It was a great location, easy to find, and had a comfy bed. The only thing was a drip in the bathroom from the floor above us all night- so everything in the bathroom was all wet in the morning. But not a big deal really. For what we paid, it was a great bargain.

Review 98:Toilet and shower did not function properly. Shower head was taken off by staff and we showered without it creating a mess with water all over the washroom. Had to ask for extra food at breakfast as very little was put out.

Review 99:Location was excellent. Few steps to bus and train station. River sounds but no train noise. Staff were pleasant.

Review 100:We had difficulties on findind the hotel and so it was bad carrying the luggage looking for it, as it has a small publicity and only has one little door in the street. The room did not have a chair or a closet to hang clothes. Staff did not give information about the delivery of keys when he went out and did not clean the room, and also missed information about breakfast timing (4:00 to 7:30) and made the favor to let us have breakfast at 8: 00! The credit card did not work. There was the noisy river during all night because there is any soundproofing. The curtains let in the sunlight and so from 5:00 we could not sleep anymore.

Review 101:Good localization.

Review 102:Never encountered service as poor as this and have stayed in a vast number of hotels and hostels around the world. The woman behind reception should consider a job change as she was so uninterested and unhappy in this particular role it was untrue. Room was so damp that the majority of my clothes were sodden after 2 nights. Wifi didn't work in bedroom and TV was broke and even after asking twice nobody came to help. Don't stay at this place it's atrocious

Review 103:First room's toilet flush wasn't working, we had to move to another room upstairs. However, we had trouble getting hot water shower in the second room which was eventually resolved by the staff.

Review 104:Strategic location from train & bus station, we were met at the train station upon arrival by the staff. Clean simple room, basic breakfast was prepared early to accommodate the trek to Machu Picchu.

Review 105:The common areas were a bit decadent as they seemed unfinished, pretty much as most construction in Aguas Calientes

Review 106:Breakfast was good, with fresh orange juice , fresh fruits, coffe, bread, ham and cheese and served at 4:30. The mountain view and the sound of the river nearby were relaxing . The Staff were friendly and helpful . Location is convenient , near the train station and the bus stop to macchupicchu .

Review 107:-very limited English speaking -does not accept Visa card (but accepts Mastercard and AmericanExpress) -no elevator -staff is very friendly -good value for the money

Review 108:Turned out our room had a bedbug infestation and we got bitten nonstop both nights. Did our laundry in town after and seems we managed not to bring any back with us.

Review 109:This seemed like a steal, nice accomodations for the price.

Review 110:where to begin...upon arrival our room had been given away. We were given a room w 2 beds instead of 3...there was no curtain so all could see into our room. Curtain was finally set up and toilet was leaking. We changed rooms. Breakfast was meager, Especially for hiking. Staff seems to have NO break, as was same staff for 3 days and 2 nights; a shady situation. Last straw, on the last night I was given a dirty sheet. Gross.

Review 111:hot water, some views from other rooms-not pues

Review 112:Yes, it is a pretty nice room, however there is almost no water in the faucet, flush not working and shower is a mess...brown water comes first then cold water all over the bathroom! They tell you they will pick you up at the station and they never come! AVOID this place

Review 113:Big room w river views

Review 114:No Window To Outside In Room. was A Bit Like A Jail Cell. Also, Lobby Was Not Manned When We Arrived And We Stood There For 15 Minutes Until Someone Showed up.

Review 115:Location And Price

Review 116:There were sooo many problems with this hotel that could be fixed with a little bit of effort. Firstly, the hotel never responded to my emails prior to arrival. Secondly, the room we were given had the beds made but the bathroom wasn't cleaned. The floor was all muddy and there was diarrhea 'spray' in the toilet (they did move us rooms but it wasn't nice walking into that!) Thirdly, Breakfast was really poor (there were flies all over the food on the first day so we didn't eat there, and then the second day we arrived about 9am for breakfast and all the food was eaten and the staff member just shrugged their shoulders and said there was no food left). Lastly, after a long day of climbing Huayna Picchu we got an early night only to be woken up at 9.30pm by reception phoning non stop to our room asking if we could come down stairs and pay the room bill (even though we were checking out in the morning). In addition, be aware that the hotel staff do not speak ANY english.

Review 117:Price was low, internet worked ok

Review 118:Bugs and insects everywhere. When the train passed by in the evening, close to 50 dead insects fell out from the light fixture. Sink, toilet were broken. Had to request a room switch.

Review 119:Very good location right near the Machu Picchu bus stop, and the view from the room on the top floor was great.

Review 120:Staff wasn't nice or helpful. There were bees on the food. We were suppose to have a room with 3 beds and only had two. Price was way too much for what it was.

Review 121:The location was great but there isn't a bad location in Aguas Calientes

Review 122:The checkout time was 9am. This is really early if you want to do anything in the morning and freshen up before the afternoon trains. Breakfast was not worth the walk up the stairs. Staff was less than helpful. Peru has an amazing variety of moths. We were able to view several species in our bathroom. Plan on flooding the entire bathroom when you take a shower. I think a 5 year child did the wiring. We thought we had a late checkout arranged with Booking and the hotel, but this was completely ignored by the staff.

Review 123:The view from our room. The room was a good size. The bed was comfortable.

Review 124:Cleanliness could be improved (bed sheets, etc.). The room did not have a direct window facing outside, only an internal one. As the hotel is quite close to a river, you can hear the sound of it all night long, in addition to some power generator. Breakfast is very poor in terms of choice.

Review 125:The hotel offers good value for money. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you are travelling on a budget and only plan to stay one night, it could be a good choice.

Review 126:Despite its unassuming entrance the rooms proved to be surprisingly modern and comfortable, with a stunning view on the river below and the mountains surrounding Machu Picchu.

Review 127:The floor in the shower is quite slippery so you have to watch out or you can fall. The restroom on the front desk (the one you use after you come back from Machu Picchu and before you go to the train station) is really dirty and the toilet hasnt even gotten a seat.

Review 128:The hotel is close to the train station and bus stop to Machu Pichhu and the front desk is really very friendly. He even waited for me at the train station, but unfortunately I had changed my train time and didnt let him know. The breakfast was ok and on time so that we could be on the line in time to get the first bus to Machu Picchu.

Review 129:Noisy. Cannot block out light from outside. Crampy bathroom. Teenage staff with no proper training. Difficult to communicate. The management was no where to be found. The entire place was run by a couple of teenagers!

Review 130:Location. Proximity to train station.

Review 131:The lobby bathroom was awful so dirty and disgusting also the floor was dirty, I recommend the owner to keep an eye to the lobby Cleanliness after all is the first face of the hotel.

Review 132:Great location, the hotel is new and the room is spacious. Early breakfast they start serving at 5:00am.

Review 133:Have you ever took a shower and after that you had to clean the bathroom because it was under water? If yes and you don't want to do that again, don't take a shower at Inka Wonder.

Review 134:The location is really good and the breakfast was nice, with fruits, bread and iogurt.

Review 135:Bathroom could have been cleaner - lots of dead bugs on the ceiling. Room door has a window that let's hallway light in. Make sure to get room facing river not train tracks.

Review 136:Friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcome. The location is very convenient to shops and restaurants, and importantly, the bus to the ruins.

Review 137:A little too bare and basic for my taste. Terrible shower that sprayed water everywhere, terrible curtains. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel

Review 138:The beds were very comfortable, it was clean and there was enough hot water. Staff was friendly enough
