Reviews for Waman Hotel
Review 1:The only thing that was an eye sore was the construction but that will soon be gone and in its place, a nice new desk.
Review 2:The daytime attendant, Alexander, was amazing! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The rooms were great and we loved the color scheme - orange! Also, we loved being on a side street instead of the Main Street so it was more quiet.
Review 3:Thin walls and lack of privacy. Noisy neighborhood and property under construction causing a lot of noise
Review 4:Quick booking for last minute plans worked great!
Review 5:amazing restaurant upstairs! I loved the staff! I wasn't going to eat breakfast because i was leaving before 5am and they packed me a breakfast to take with me!
Review 6:- only negative we could come up with is the shower; there was not a curtain in our bathroom, so when we were showering, water would spill onto the floors. other than that, our stay was perfect!
Review 7:- after hiking the Incan Trail for 4 days + 3 days, this hotel (a very last minute booking) seemed like a paradise. - each staff that we interacted with were all very nice and welcoming (we even had chocolates waiting for us in our rooms). - our sore and tired legs were very grateful for the elevator (especially since our room was on the fifth floor). - this location is about a 7-10 minute walk from the bus stop (which may be a difficult walk if you're just returning from the Incan Trail, since there is a bit of a steep and some steps). however, we were appreciative of the distance away from the center of Aguas Calientes because we definitely needed the peace and quiet to recover. - overall, this hotel is definitely recommended! BEST SLEEP EVER after the Incan Trail!
Review 8:Location is good, but not perfect. There is a little ramp to get there which can be quite tiring after a day walking up and down.
Review 9:The room is super comfortable and clean. The hotel has a lift, which is very convenient after a day walking around. Breakfast is simple but good. The breakfast area is quite nice, with a very impressive view. The staff is super friendly.
Review 10:Town is in mid of construction boom and loud. All hotels are overrated and overpriced but full in high season. Internet spotty. Credit cards didn't work
Review 11:We had a last minute cancellation in our group and hotel and booking were most accommodating. Staff very friendly. Good restaurant recommendation and great breakfast box to take for 4am early start
Review 12:this hotel advertises that wifi is available in all the rooms, it's not. I only got patches of it twice. It was available in reception, it should be advertised as that only. I had no hot water. I managed one very brief shower in the two nights I was there (two minutes before the water went cold). The staff obviously know about this as they request their guests have shirt showers when they check in. For this price, that is not good enough. The housekeeping staff walked into my room without knocking. I had just got out of the shower, and it was lucky I was dressed! The phones don't work and so the staff yell at each other (and the manager) up and down the staircase. It's so noisy, it's horrible.
Review 13:This is the worst hotel I stayed at in 3.5 months in South America.
Review 14:The room was tiny with a double bed as "matrimonial". The whole bathroom floor got wet when I took a shower due to the poor design. Everything in the room was humid: the bed, the covers, the towels, even the drapes. Staff does not speak English.
Review 15:Breakfast was not too bad, as expected.
Review 16:there was nothing i didnt like
Review 17:overall hotel , cleanliness of the place , fairly new hotel , , staff were extremely nice . breakfast was one of the best we have had so far good location . would definitely recommend this hotel
Review 18:The double bed is so small we had to sleep in seperate beds .... Not great when you are on a honeymoon. The rooms are freezing but the did give me a heater when requested. The hotel is in construction so noisy during the day but the entire town is in some stage of construction. They wouldn't let us take towels to hot springs. Water in shower was cold the entire time. Not good value for money!
Review 19:Courtesy pick up. There is no transportation in town as its so small so you will be walking every where but all good. They gave me a heater when requested as room freezing. Let us store luggage while at Machu Picchu.
Review 20:Wifi only worked in rooms close to the router of each floor.
Review 21:Staff was friendly even though it was difficult to communicate in English. Rooms were efficient and clean. Location was good for Aguas Calientes, a few meters of the main road which made it a nice and quiet experience.
Review 22:Rooms are not heated so had to request a space heater which the staff readily provided. Toasty warm after that!
Review 23:Staff bent over backwards to be helpful. Great location.
Review 24:Had a slightly moldy smell in the room, could never get wifi to work
Review 25:Shower was best I had in Peru, Breakfast was excellent, staff is very accomodating
Review 26:Price, view,small bed
Review 27:A Decent place to stay in order to be one of the first to enter machu piccu. Aguas calientes is an ugly village with poor facilities but you don't care...
Review 28:The internet connection was horrible. Upon entering the room the smell of the cleaning products set off sneezing and coughing episodes.
Review 29:The location of the hotel was great. The breakfast room was warm and inviting with a delicious selection of food.
Review 30:The bathroom is not so well designed due to the water on the floor after the shower, but is not an issue.
Review 31:The staff was very nice trying to do all that is possible for us to have a great time. The room is spacious enough for two persons and it has a vault. It's clean and there is the express laundry service in 4 hours. Our breakfast was prepared for "to go" due to our early leave.
Review 32:A bit noisy with the windows open due to construction in the area.
Review 33:The staff at the Waman was very friendly and helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast!
Review 34:too noisy - sounded like we were sharing our room with our neighbors. also can hear noise from the town even with windows closed.
Review 35:free wifi thankful for the shower and bed after hiking the inca trail
Review 36:They didn't ask for payment until we were rushing off to the train. We forgot we had not prepaid and there had been no mention of money, our mistake but they should mentiown it upfront. Cash only ,no credit cards.
Review 37:The girls at the front desk were really helpful finding my lost and late guide for me. Incredible view from glass enclosed room on top floor. Best view in Aguas Calientes
Review 38:The construction started early in the morning so we got up earlier than we had intended. The beds and rooms are small so sharing a bed may be difficult.
Review 39:The hotel was very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. The breakfast was very tasty as well. The showers were nice and hot! The beds, while small, were very comfortable.
Review 40:The most expensive place we stayed in Peru - but It was nice to have a clean comfy place to rest after Machu Picchu mountain climb. Noise from hallway can be pretty loud at times.
Review 41:Comfy bed, clean room, hot shower, good breakfast - eggs made fresh for you, fruits and pancakes.
Review 42:The construction right outside the hotel.
Review 43:They provided a box breakfast both days because we left the hotel at 4:45AM to get in line for the buses up to Machu Picchu.
Review 44:the stuff was very helpful and polite. The room was nice and clean with a nice view. The bed was good. The bathroom was clean and spacy. Breakfast was very good, fresh juices, cold and warm food. Everything was ok, thank you for a nice stay!!!
Review 45:The kitchen was located above our room in the 6th floor and it's very lousy early in the morning when the staff blast the music while making breakfast. Also the washroom doesn't have shower curtain which makes it weird to shower as all the water splashes everywhere. Also the ventilation is non existence which cause the ceilings to mould. It was covered up with paint but you can still see it which was very appalling.
Review 46:Clean hotel in a convenient location
Review 47:staff
Review 48:Rooms were too small!!
Review 49:Hot shower. Clean beds. Lunch was fabulous! The staff was very helpful.
Review 50:A little expensive for what you get.
Review 51:Nice helpful staff
Review 52:Everything
Review 53:People went above and beyond to make you feel welcome
Review 54:Hot water not hot enough. Wifi a bit slow
Review 55:Location, nice breakfast
Review 56:Minor issues with wifi and cleanliness
Review 57:Staff and free dinner for staying two night, and the food was awesome
Review 58:4 min walking from train and bus station, friendly staff
Review 59:The staff and their great desire to accommodate.
Review 60:Bathroom was not comfortable .
Review 61:Good beds.
Review 62:no room safe ,
Review 63:good location near to the main street and train + bus stations
Review 64:Crowing roosters in AM Barking dogs at night Small room
Review 65:Great breakfast and staff Friendliness of front desk
Review 66:The breakfast was very poor and the room was quite small
Review 67:Shame we only had one night
Review 68:Friendly welcome Clean modern hotel It was a bit of a so prose
Review 69:excellent place to stay. Very nice staff.
Review 70:Staff was absolutely phenomenal - very friendly, helpful and proactive. A great value for your dollar in Aguas Calientes. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was best we encountered while in Peru.
Review 71:The price was excellent and location was very good being close to the airport. The pre-arranged transportation to and from the hotel was also excellent
Review 72:Our room was small but spotless with an LCD TV, a comfortable bed, a free hospitality basket, and a great view. The hotel has an elevator and good WiFi. Be sure to visit the glass "crow's nest" which offers spectacular views of the town and the surrounding mountains.
Review 73:Could've done with heating in the bathroom, but no heating is pretty much the standard in these parts.
Review 74:Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Clean, competent operation smack in the middle of things, a couple of blocks from the bus stop to Machu Picchu.
Review 75:No shower curtain on bath tubs, water gets everywhere, but hey, we didn't have to clean it up.
Review 76:For the price and location the hotel was good. You have to understand that here you have very high prices hotels and very low prices hotels. There are few that fall in between that are a good value. This one fits the bill. Good location! Staff went out if there way to help us at every opportunity. There is construction next door, bit there seems to be construction going on everywhere in Peru.
Review 77:the room is small. the bed is small too and there is no curtain at the bath
Review 78:i liked the place, near everything, near the restaurants, and places to visit. very close to the train station
Review 79:I liked everything about this hotel.
Review 80:I liked everything about this hotel. The helpful and friendly staff, the bed, the breakfast, and the location. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you.
Review 81:Water spilled all over the bathroom floor after showering because the shower curtain was far from the tub. The hotel did not provide a safe box in the room. Mattress was not comfortable.
Review 82:The staff were very nice and the breakfast was very good. The hotel kept our luggage until we got back from Machu Picchu.
Review 83:The noise in my room from the restaurant staff, starting very early in the morning. Poor English skills from reception staff meant it was quite hard to impossible at times to speak to them. No room safe meant me taking my valuables out with me the first day. Poor buffet breakfast meant me leaving hungry each morning. Poor wifi that's barely fit even for checking emails. Stair carpet left dangerously loose for 2 days.
Review 84:Clean, modern and well furnished room. Very comfortable bed. Good shower pressure. Reasonable price given it's the town that feeds the historic site. They safely stored my bag full of very expensive electronics while I spent my second day up at the site.
Review 85:Very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. You will need to be able to speak some Spanish as there is little English spoken. The town is also very interesting with lots of restaurants and shops.
Review 86:It's hard to find a decent place in Aguas for a reasonable price. They have a captive audience. I feel this was the best choice available.
Review 87:It was in a quiet section.
Review 88:It just happened that the restaurant across the small alley that the hotel is situated in was renovating. The entrance to the hotel was somewhat blocked and noisy during my stay. It was fine at night though. Most people are up early to get to Machu Picchu before dawn, so it didn't inconvenience me at all-- and will be fine once the renovations are done.
Review 89:Decent locale. A bit uphill from the station-- but close enough if you don't have much to carry. Staff was fantastically helpful. The desk girl walked me (with my luggage) to the train station in the rain, just to help me out. Really friendly and helpful. This outweighs any potential issues.
Review 90:The Waman Hotel was a pleasure to stay at after coming from our 4 day Inca Trail Trek. The amenities were good. The staff was friendly and accomodating and were always offering ways to assist us. Thank you!
Review 91:Nothing.
Review 92:We were pleasantly surprised as when I booked the hotel people had no rated it very well. It was in a great position and we were very comfortable.
Review 93:The staff in the Kitchen would play loud enough music in the mornings- from 5am. We were on the 5th floor, just below the kitchen so we were woken up by this Which was annoying after a long day in machu pichu the day before.
Review 94:Close to bus station for machu pichu, receptionists were lovely, furnishings nice and beds cosy.
Review 95:A bit stuffy in the rooms. NO A/C sadly but that's the norm. Really no issues.
Review 96:The staff! They were fantastic. The view from the breakfast room. WOW.
Review 97:Room had very little space, one needs to squeeze by the bed or the bathtub and cannot sit anywhere. Some equipment not installed well; has a bit of a feel of construction not really completed yet. Building hemmed in by other buildings including one under construction just 5 m across an alley. Rather expensive but sort of in line with general high price level in Aguas Calientes.
Review 98:Modern and clean; rather cool glass-surrounded tower on top for lounge and breakfast. Shower worked well. Friendly staff.
Review 99:Wi-Fi connection was not very stable, but workable. Would benefit from a coffee maker or water boiler in the room, but not a deal breaker.
Review 100:Great location, staff and well kept and clean rooms
Review 101:The hotel is new, but many details still require attention.
Review 102:The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and the restaurant has a great view of the town and surroundings.
Review 103:The hotel is next to a construction site so it was quite noisy and dark, in particular if you are traveling alone it may be a little scary to walk alone in the street that connect the hotel to the main strip of restaurants and stores. However, in the front is quite open and I felt safe.
Review 104:The location, the wonderful staff, and the rooms, but more importantly, the view from the breakfast glass room at the top of the building.
Review 105:I didn't like the small street where it is, surrounded by construction and materials, not very nice view.
Review 106:Loved the Hotel, new and clean eventhough it was not high star it was a good choice and the staff was amazingly friendly and polite and helpful.
Review 107:Internet access. We couldn't use it during the stay. Some staffs seem not to speak English well because I couldn't get anything hot to drink when we asked them. (Even at the breakfast room we can make tea or coffee easily.)
Review 108:Room was a little bit old-fashioned, and the floor was tile. So it was cold. At the breakfast time better going up the glass roof balcony, the best place of this hotel.
Review 109:As others have said, wifi access was not that great, nearly impossible from the room, even though the WAP was right down the hall.
Review 110:Hotel was a great value in Aguas Caliente. It is in a decent part of the town, close to the restaurants and bus stop to Machu Picchu. Get room x01, if possible, as it is more spacious (ours was 401) than the other rooms and overlooks the river. Breakfast was great, too.
Review 111:New and some things still need work (bathroom light did not work, wi-fi spotty in certain places). Matrimonial bed very small.
Review 112:Good location. Basic, but new and clean. Friendly staff.
Review 113:Staff was wonderful, ready to serve with smile. They came to receive us at train station and another friendly staff showed us ways around town. Breakfast was superb; fresh squeezed juice, fruit and cooked to order omelette. Hat goes off to staff who puts in long hours to provide best guest service with BIG SMILE.
Review 114:facilities were pretty basic; a bit of a hike from train station
Review 115:The staff was very friendly and helpful; there was a new elevator, and the rooms were clean
Review 116:A little bit pricey Didn't accept visa, only cash
Review 117:Friendly personnel New and clean hotel Quite, away from rail tracks Nicedining room in 6f Good breakfast Prepared a lunch box at no charge
Review 118:Perfect place to stay when wanting to hike Machu Picchu! The hotel offered clean rooms with comfortable beds and a friendly staff.
Review 119:Wifi was spotty on top floor
Review 120:Great service Friendly staff Good breakfast Good location
Review 121:shower leaking all over.
Review 122:Good location, good staff
Review 123:Distance from bus station. Up a hill
Review 124:Staff, clean rooms and hot water. Basic hotel, but very comfortable
Review 125:There were many constructions happening at the street of the hotel
Review 126:Clean bedroom and bathroom, staff realy good.
Review 127:Too Noisy No Shower Curtain Light Shown in Room from Hallway
Review 128:Saff excelent, willing to help all the time. Breakast was very good. The hotel was very clean.
Review 129:Facilities were excellent. Staff was attentive.
Review 130:Room setup is not practical, everything inside the room looks unfinished and shabby.
Review 131:Location is good, staff are very helpful.
