Reviews for Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa
Review 1:The filet at 12 tribes was pretty awful and was only able to take a couple of bites. The noise from magu Deck and The Office at night can be a little noisy, but not terrible. I would suggest if you are a light sleeper or have kids to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel away from the bars. The time share people are very pushy about coming to their breakfast and are not affiliated with the hotel.
Review 2:Beautiful resort with friendly staff, spacious rooms and wonderful views. We felt very safe and relaxed the entire time. Just steps away from great restaurants and fun nightlife. We spent a lot of time at the pools and private beach area where the servers were excellent. (Loved the swim up bar) There were great views of the Arcos from all different areas of the hotel. Can't wait to come back!!
Review 3:Location by Mango Deck and The Office restaurants and bars might be too noisy for some travelers.
Review 4:Fun location for families with older kids. Staff were accommodating and very friendly. Food was tasty, especially lunch at beach and pool.
Review 5:We had a bad experience with the resort trying to sell the Travel Club membership which took up 4hrs instead of 90mins as informed. Of course we agreed to do this coz we would get some discount vouchers but an entire morning was too much. The spa was closed for renovation. Overall spa experience was sub par for the price we paid.
Review 6:Loved everything about this place. Room, spa - best massage we have had ever! Staff super friendly. You get people trying to sell you timeshare but that's Mexico it's in every hotel. Just say no and you will be fine! We will stay here again next time
Review 7:The staff at the entrance to the hotel are awful. Constantly houndingyou and trying to sell you on something, some service, some trip. It wasso frustrating we would try going in and out of different entrances toavoid them. The beach area is nice, but (and a big but), lots ofconstruction which made it not so appealing. Same thing by the pool--thespot with the best view had construction going on right in front. Lastly--the bartender at the main bar was awful. The menu listed certain pricesfor drinks and she'd bring it back to you and charge you almost double--without warning or heads up--because they made a change to the bottlesor type of liquor. When I pointed this out, she just took my drink awayand was not apologetic.
Review 8:The location is perfect for nights out in the marina/downtown area. The rooms are a great size and have great views.
Review 9:The humidity and noice from the Mango Deck. The constant sale for time share...... Pool temperture was hot.
Review 10:View of ocean. Overall pool area was nice.
Review 11:No children allowed at the swim up bar And not enough ceiling around the pool thank you
Review 12:The location was perfect staff was phenomenal And the room service was very reasonable
Review 13:I didn't like the people in Member Services not the woman constantly trying to get me to attend a presentation about the property. All other staff at the hotel were great. I didn't like that booking.com said that I would have a room with an ocean view and the hotel refused to honor this and my room had a pool view. They said they would change my room the next day every day. I didn't like that the beach and pool were never quiet due to Mango Deck.
Review 14:The bellmen and bartenders were great! Our room was great as far as furnishings, comfort , amenities, and sound proofing. The location to downtown was great and the facilities were good.
Review 15:Had to close my door because of the loud music at night. I would have preferred to hear the sound of the ocean instead. The music started from the mango Bar pretty early too..........
Review 16:The staff was VERY attentive, food was delicious and I found no reason to even want to leave the resort! I loved sitting early on the beach enjoying the ocean.
Review 17:$800+ per night and no complimentary bottled water or wi fi? Elevators don't work. Mongo Deck (bar next to hotel) loud during day making pool not relaxing. 2 bedrooms fit 5 people easy.
Review 18:Big & modern rooms, close to downtown, nice view, good breakfast buffet.
Review 19:You will get definitely pitched hard to participate in sales pitches for timeshare/club membership. If you are interested it's gonna take up 2-3 hours of your day despite what they promise. If you elect to do it, then ask for free stuff and perks. Dinners, Spa, rides etc.
Review 20:great location! Lots of activities and a "busy" area. Walking distance to virtually everything.
Review 21:Everything about our stay was excellent. Check-in/check-out super easy. The staff were very friendly . Service quick. Breakfast buffet was excellent . Best O.j. I've ever had.
Review 22:Casa Dorada is located on a beautiful beach. The resort is very well maintained. The staff is courteous and professional. This is our only place to stay in Cabo!!!
Review 23:Not exactly a bad experience, but the Time Share representatives were quite full on but they did respect that we were not interested.
Review 24:We had a 2 bedroom suite as we were travelling with adult children. Very spacious, clean, very well appointed & wonderful views. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the included breakfast was fabulous. A very relaxing and enjoyable 4 days at Casa Dorada.
Review 25:This hotel is next to a huge outdoor club that plays rap music all day long. This masks the Cabo experience and natural sounds of the beautiful ocean and nature. Will not stay here again.
Review 26:Nice pool, good good
Review 27:People putting beach towels out to save chairs by pool at 5:00 am different people couldn't get chair at pool always same ones.
Review 28:Bed very comfortable - great staff
Review 29:Its 2015 wifi should be included always especially when you are one of the more expensive resorts on medano beach.
Review 30:The location is on par, right on medano beach, fabulous. Rooms are spacious and all have killer views.
Review 31:- When we got there we realized the non-included taxes and fees amounts to additional 29% of the booking price -- that's a large amount not to take into account while booking... - Charging for wifi by the hour just feels greedy, especially with such a slow connection - We had to ditch the customer service representative, who as soon as you check in offers to "join you for breakfast", and tries to sell you on activities
Review 32:Awesome pool, amazing beach, amazing view, amazing suites, everything so relaxing, high-quality, and a lot of fun!
Review 33:The bad news was that there is still much repair work to be done including inoperable elevators and ice machines, flooring and roof repairs, missing beachfront improvements, etc. so there is considerable construction noise from this and adjacent property repair work along with very loud music all day from The Office and Mango Deck. While the onsite spa was very nice, the fitness equipment was old and none of the elliptical machines were working. The hotel needs to do a better job securing the wedding events to avoid wedding crashers and petty thefts.
Review 34:The good news was that Casa Dorado did not suffer much hurricane damage, the staff was very friendly and professional, the views were incredible, the rooms are very spacious, the food was excellent and the hotel is located on one of the safest beaches in Los Cabos. The hotel served as a perfect destination wedding venue for our group.
Review 35:Shouldn't be paying for wifi in a hotel like this. Would expect wifi to be better giving that it was being charged for Staff were sometimes too attentive, to the point of nuisance. Should be left alone in these sort of hotels unless help is requested
Review 36:Location was excellent, staff attentive (although sometimes too much so). Rooms are large and well equipped and cost of room service / in room mini bar was very reasonable
Review 37:1st room on 2nd floor above swim up bar. The bartender could look right in out room (so everybody at the bar could also) rooms on the west side suffer from party noise from Mango Bar. 2nd room on 3rd floor. West side wasuch better, would have kept that room except neighbors kept us up till 5:30. Call desk 3 times during the night , to no avail. Don't settle for the room they give you if you are not happy.
Review 38:After 3 moves, the view could not be beat. Get a room in the middle or on the east side to see the rocks. Must have a roome above the 3rd floor.
Review 39:Right behind Mango Dack which can be loud and annoying when you are relaxing at the pool.
Review 40:Easy to walk into town or spend time on Medano Beach. Room was comfy and quiet, love the Jr. suite with kitchen.
Review 41:Booked activities outside the resort and the lady at the front desk was RUDE to my husband... Other then that, great vacation.
Review 42:The location and the amazing view.
Review 43:Screaming kids everywhere. There are two big pools. Couldn't they set aside an area in one of the pools for adults only? Note to parents: if your brats are screaming in the pool, how about you do some parenting and tell them to be quiet? Or did you bring them specifically to ruin other people's time? We all don't think your little monsters are so great. I paid a lot to stay there, is it too much to ask to be able to relax by the pool? I could even hear a screaming kid in the next room at one point. It's good to be home so I can relax. If you have screaming brats of your own, you'll fit right in and I recommend. If you have no kids, stay at another place!!
Review 44:One of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Could be the best location on Medano Beach. Right next to the crazy bars on the beach. So you can hop next door if you need to get your spring break fix. But if you're staying at CD, you probably have a brood of screaming brats and have no interest in those bars or fun in general.
Review 45:The view looking the hotel entrance at the hotel and the sea took my breath away the minute we stepped out of the taxi. Everyone in our family enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff is so friendly and very accommodating.
Review 46:Slow to have our room ready, rushed us into Traxis without making sure the drivers really knew where we wanted to go. That just might be everywhere... They say in Mexico everything is mañana still probably the best spot in Cabo!!
Review 47:We liked our room, view, location to Medano beach, quality and style of building.
Review 48:The location was amazing and the staff was fantastic!
Review 49:Vendors on the beach.
Review 50:Beautiful view. Perfect location. Rooms are amazing.
Review 51:Staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were beautiful
Review 52:Noisy bar just in front of hotel.
Review 53:Lovely hotel, gorgeous beach and pool area. Great friendly staff. Spacious room with lovely balcony and sea view.
Review 54:Noise by my room from mango deck
Review 55:Great loved it will be back next year
Review 56:The pillows were too hard and lumpy
Review 57:The friendly staff location to town and the beach
Review 58:needs updating. Loud bar right on beach next door to the hotel- was annoying when trying to relax. A guy screaming on the mic all day.
Review 59:we got 5 night cost confirmation but they charged per night
Review 60:Location, we got free wifi , staff friendly
Review 61:Everything
Review 62:Free wifi, cheaper rates.
Review 63:Very convenient to everything.
Review 64:Great Location. Short walk to downtown. Great food and pool.
Review 65:Staff
Review 66:Pool
Review 67:A little pricey. A hotel of this caliber shouldnt charge for wifi.
Review 68:Beautiful hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff.
Review 69:Sales pressure from staff about vacation club
Review 70:Location Staff Felt Safe
Review 71:Timeshare salespeople
Review 72:Cleanliness, amenities, beach, pools, kid friendly
Review 73:proximity to loud Mango Bar and crowds on beach in front of hotel
Review 74:attentive staff
Review 75:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 76:Did not like the pressure of the timeshare "Sharks"
Review 77:Martin, Silvia and Laura were our wait staff on the beach. They are awesome!!
Review 78:Coffee was not provided for the coffee maker in the room. When you have a suite, coffee should be provided free of charge. Everything was an extra charge. For the price you pay, coffee and bottled water should be provided free of charge. Food ordered by the pool was not good. Wifi was not free but neighboring and less expensive hotels provided it for free.
Review 79:The location and room were very nice. The swimming pools were wonderful. Beautiful view.
Review 80:Room rate displayed by Bookings.com was misleading because of taxes not included. My $280/night rate jumped to $363/ night.
Review 81:Our room was spacious and very nice. Property location is excellent - Beach Bars/restraurants ( Mango Deck and the Office) are very close And you can walk to downtown/ Marina area.
Review 82:Didn't love the service around the pool and the fact that cruise ship guests can come for the day. Also didn't love having to go out the gate to the beach.
Review 83:Loved the spaciuosness of the rooms! Very convenient location to everything.
Review 84:View of Land's End was obstructed by the Mango Deck. Constant soliciting by hotel staff and beach vendors, boxed lunches not edible, lack of communication about amenities like breakfast only being included for two when we were three guests, beds were very uncomfortable
Review 85:Proximity to marina and water activities...Medano beach was gorgeous! Breakfast buffet was delicious
Review 86:I requested a high floor with a view 8 months prior to my stay. I wasvery disappointed when on check in they informed me of the stunningviews but could only give me a room on the second floor with no view. The rooms are very tired and need upgrading. I felt that you do not get£245.00 a night quality.
Review 87:The location was good for the centre of town.
Review 88:no handicap facilities, need a elevator to the spa, way too noisy at night with the bars on the beach, but most of all for 400 a night the hotel should provide internet. Having to pay for internet was cheap
Review 89:good staff, clean hotel.
Review 90:We had to go get our bags from the lobby after waiting 20 minutes for the bellhop to bring them up. Spa facilities were really nothing special. You have to get up early to reserve chairs by the pool otherwise they are all "taken" even though no one was in the chairs by 8:30 am. Was annoying that they tried to trap you into a time share spiel but they were nice when we refused the tour. Hard to get around the pool to get to the beach.
Review 91:The two-bedroom suite was very nice. Great view from the room. Great location. Lots of little restaurants nearby. Even though it is right behind several bars that are loud they were not loud too late into the night. Lovely pool with great view of the bay. Felt very secure on the property. They had guards at both front and gated beach entry. Staff was friendly. Spoken english well for the most part.
Review 92:Many guests saved their pool chairs for 3-5 hours without being present leaving many guests looking for space.
Review 93:The location in proximity to the Marina was wonderful for walking to restaurants and businesses. There were many wonderful affordable restaurants. We enjoyed how quiet it was at night.
Review 94:Kids in the swim-up bar area. And the price we were quoted by Booking.com came out to be a lot more a night when we checked out.
Review 95:Loved the location and the fact there were restaurants/bars, a market and pharmacy within walking distance. Also LOVED the rooms!
Review 96:I did not like that there was not complementary water bottles in the refrigerator. There was no hot water in the room when I went in July. While the beach is lovely with a host of activities unfortunately during the month of July the water was very cold. Entry and exit from the bathtub is problematic. I can understand that they wanted to provide the option of a jacuzzi but it probably would to consider having a step stool to ease the exit so that one does not feel as if there is a possibility of slipping.
Review 97:Casa Dorada feels like a well preserved older resort in the middle of town. Once inside the resort one is immediately struck by the lobby view of the beach and the spaciousness of the one bedroom suite. The beach is great to walk on with easy access to many activities. The pools were clean and delightfully warm. It is extremely pleasant to have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from either from walking into town or literally at the foot of the resort.
Review 98:The only thing that turned me off about the hotel was the time share hustle that they tried to rope us into.......that was the only black mark on an otherwise fantastic hotel.
Review 99:The service at the hotel was fantastic
Review 100:not enough face cloths, shampoo, toilet paper, soap........left tip every day but stopped after no extras were left
Review 101:easy access to beach, other hotels, marina & shopping
Review 102:Didn't like the people trying to sell like a timeshare thing. They got us and when we said no to the purchase, the lady got really rude. We were not there to buy anything.
Review 103:We enjoyed the hotel and all of its services, staff was friendly and ready to accommodate us everytime we were in sight.
Review 104:It was hard to get the "type" of room we wanted. We were not sure if that was due to the resort or the web site. We wanted a one bedroom but had to pay the price of a junior suite. Although the jr. Suite was very nice it was only the 2 of us and we did not need all the space and we would have liked to save money on a less expensive room.
Review 105:We loved the location! Easy to walk into town. Great pool side service.
Review 106:Our room had a view of a wall and I paid for an upgraded room. To change rooms I was told I needed to check out at noon and then able to check back in at 3pm For a smaller room with a view. I had to get ready for a wedding that day then it just was not worth to to pack up and move. Very disappointed to travel so far to have a view of a wall.
Review 107:Staff was nice.
Review 108:Can't think of 1 thing I disliked
Review 109:The hotel is in a great location on the beach. You can relax by pool on the beach or your room and still see the beautiful view of the bay. Food is very good. Staff is amazing
Review 110:Prices for food is too high for quality offered. Better value for yourmoney in surrounding restaurants. But I would go back to this hotelbecause of its location and services Simonne Provost
Review 111:Location, friendly and very helpful staff. Tourists should receive theDestino monthly brochure upon arrival has better maps for visitors andinformation to visit towns nearby. We forgot an imp.picture in a taxiand the hotel recuperated it for us. Very good service and security atthis hotel Simonne Provost
Review 112:Day beach scene too wild for our style!
Review 113:Excellent suite, modern, even nicer than photos! Great choice of restaurants near by Great choice of water sports!
Review 114:We had many problems while here - reservation issues, etc. We were also very annoyed that the pool staff "reserves" chairs around the pool with towels for tipping guests, so it's difficult to find a spot near the pool without dishing out money (even though chairs are not supposed to be reserved). Be prepared to spend a lot here too - drinks and food are expensive! Not a very family friendly place - especially during spring break!
Review 115:This resort is beautiful, and has an excellent location, right on Medano Beach near the Mango Deck bar - great place if you want to be located in the middle of the party. If you're looking for relaxed luxury - look elsewhere.
Review 116:Time share pitches The extreme lack of pool chaises and beach chaises. Also, I was there at spring break and the noise from the beach bars is non-stop through the night.
Review 117:NIce facility in a great location.
Review 118:The music from the club below was consistent so never any moments of quiet. It wasn't overwhelming but if you are looking for a quiet atmosphere, this isnt the place.
Review 119:A wonderful experience; the accomodations were very nice. Great pool and the staff provided just about everything we needed for a great relaxing trip. The hotel is right on Modano Beach...short steps to restaurants and water activities.
Review 120:Didn't have any negative issues. Only, did get tired of the streetvendors. Not a big problem if you just walked on.
Review 121:We had a very good stay, 5 nights. Were offered an up-grade room for noextra cost. We had a wonderful 2 room suite with ocean & pool view. The food was delicious and so was the service. Walking distance tomarina and shopping, plus other restaurants ... great location! Theyhave a high end spa & fitness center included in the stay ... agreat place to be pampered! We felt safe at the hotel and walking on thestreets. Everyone was very friendly and helpful .. a wonderful Mexicoexperience!!!!
Review 122:I didn't like having my room so close to the kid's pool, very loud.
Review 123:Loved the rooms, the grounds were beautiful. pool was nice, private beach was great.
Review 124:front desk speaks very little english. When dialing 0 from room for help they speak very little english causing mistakes in services requested. Very frustrating.
Review 125:good food at the swim up bar
Review 126:I have issue with transportation. Apparently due to union(s) theTranscabo could not fulfill my need for transportation from CasaDorada to the airport. Trans cabo can transport from sjd to the hotelbut not from the hotel back to the airport. The taxi rate from thehotel to airport is $100usd. Transcabo rate is $35usd. If I walked afew blocks taxi's were $60usd, I had to walk because apparentlythose taxi's aren't allowed to pick up at the Casa Dorada, ridiculous!! Because of transportation issue I will not recommmendCasa Dorada.
Review 127:Amenities were good. Staff were friendly.
Review 128:Spa service was expensive.
Review 129:The staff was very friendly, Reyna at the front desk was most helpful.Really enjoyed our stay would have been nice to get free water bottlesplaced every day into the room and free internet.
Review 130:room rate included breakfast and internet yet i had to argue everyday at the restaurant and with the front desk. no escape from the time-share / condo selling mob that stalk you at every entrance/exit to the hotel
Review 131:well maintained
Review 132:Our bathroom was rather small wish we would have known about the unit with a larger bathroom
Review 133:The suite was wonderfully clean and inviting.
Review 134:The Room is very huge and clean. The large Jacuzzi is also a plus. All staff is very kind. We definitely come back again.
Review 135:The staff was wonderful, the location was great and so was the food.
