Reviews for Treasury Casino & Hotel

Review 1:there was nothing to not like

Review 2:everything, the bed was brilliant, also the bathroom. we have travelled a fair bit, including London, Paris and New York and this was the nicest room, we will definitely go back

Review 3:Not really didn't like, just disappointed some of the facilities we under renovation, again we understand it has to be done sometime, more reason to go back nd check them out.

Review 4:Frankly we loved the whole Hotel it was exactly what we expected but more.

Review 5:The location was great, convenient to everything, staff were very helpful, friendly and accomodation was clean and comfortable. Great choice of dining options available to suit all budgets.

Review 6:Breakfast in the morning was tasty but a little disorganised - no welcome or direction from staff. One member of staff was shouting across the room. Didn't feel 5star

Review 7:Beautiful building, excellent location, excellent room service food- great value

Review 8:NA

Review 9:Hubby and I had to travel to Brisbane from Mackay at the last minute and managed to get a good deal on a room at the treasury. We were more then thrilled with our first ever stay and will definitely be booking here again for any future trips.

Review 10:The hotel bar was closed by 10..dissapointed we couldn't sit and have a quiet drink..had to go over to the casino, which was full and noisy and not romantic at all.

Review 11:Loved the bed.. Location was perfect.. Room was palatial

Review 12:Didn't find anything.

Review 13:Lovely room with charm and opulence that is missing in so many hotels now. Pleasant and very helpful staff. Great view. The most comfortable bed ever.

Review 14:Having a room next to live bands competely spoilt our stay. I advised staff I would not choose to stay at the hotel again based on this experience. We were kept awake by the noise until after 4am. We had to request ear plugs which did not assist as the vibration reverberated throughout the entire floor.

Review 15:Fabulous facilities opulent decor.

Review 16:Worst customer service ever experienced!! We booked two Casino Parlourrooms through Booking.com with the request that the rooms be next toeach other. My mother not being well and having heart problems needed tobe close. All information was written in the specialinstructions/information box. Upon check in the rudest receptionisttold us that our rooms were at other ends of the hall from each otherand that was just too bad as they were the rooms that I had bookeddespite my note in the Special Request/Instructions/Informationbox! In the old casino building the booked rooms were miles away fromeach other. Upon request of moving to adjoining available rooms, we weretold we would need to pay the upgrade to the room next door, another$300 extra. Maybe they could give us it for only $250 extra. When askedwhy I was not notified that the rooms were not next to each other, I wasinformed that because I booked through Booking.com and I did not bookthrough their website they did not have an email to contact me on andthey do not notify international telephone numbers of information.Pathetic!! Even the manager would not help! More pathetic! So we had totake a down grade in room (a few rooms away) to be close to my motherbut pay the price of the originally booked room (booked throughBooking.com)! I have never experienced such rude, incompetent andincompassionate staff in my life. It was to be a treat for my mother. She was so looking Forward to it. It turned out to be a nightmareexperience. The next day at checkout the receptionist tried to smooththings over with understanding and two small boxes of chocolates eachcontaining 4 pieces. The chocolates were delicious. She was lovely. Butunfortunately, the bitter taste was left from the rudeness the nightbefore. I would never recommend this Hotel to anyone. Service is bad!Expensive rooms disappointing and not worth the price! Horribleexperience for an 85th Birthday surprise.. A nightmare!!!

Review 17:The only thing we can say that was a small problem. The room didnt supply normal coffee. Lots of tea's but no coffee. We went out and brought some coffee.

Review 18:The staff were very helpful.

Review 19:Everything, for a casino the room was a disgrace. Service to room was slack sometimes even forgetting to come. Very poor and not worth the money at all

Review 20:The size of the room

Review 21:$450 'bond' for 3 nights ($150pn) is hard for two pensioners to put aside and still have plenty of spending money. Thought the $150 would roll over.

Review 22:classic heritage style of the place ,location and view.

Review 23:Beautiful room & hotel.A grandeur feeling we had staying there for only one night but still perfect for our end of wedding day & night..And we put $10 in a pokie machine and won $238..Bravo Treasury .Marvellous!

Review 24:Compared to a modern motel/hotel accommodation, there is really no comparison. We feel like we're staying in the lap of luxury at The Treasury!

Review 25:We had a hire car but when we looked for parking at the hotel we found there was none, then we managed to find the under ground car park but as we drove down there was a big sign saying it was only for members and that there was parking at the CBD Myers Centre across the road, after flying all day we were mackerel and had to figure out the one way streets in the middle of the cbd but we finally found the Myers car park and dragged our luggage through a shopping centre to the hotel only to be told we were in the wrong building (there was a second hotel building across the road) and that we could have parked down under the hotel and all we needed to do was push the 'Help' button on the ticket machine. We were rather frustrated and we were tired and wanted to get to our room. Have been checked out for two days now and I get a phone call today to say that the amount for the room was not actually taken out of the credit card given when we checked in and that they needed to take it out again, even though it was still pending on my credit card statement. Rather disappointing service for a five star hotel.

Review 26:Beautiful building, great location.

Review 27:The room service menu is dreadful for a hotel with five on site restaurants. Someone had smoked in the room recently and the bed smelled like smoke.

Review 28:The rooms are excellent and the position is great.

Review 29:Well what a night 3weeks ago I had major surgery shoulder replacement and also my little niece is receiving cancer treatment at the moment for brain tumour which I planed a treat for her by staying at the treasury we had such a great time and the beds were like sleeping on clouds 10 out of 10 well done

Review 30:I assume because of the casino, some ordinary characters? Lost (or possibly stolen) my mobile phone on game floor. Did get it back as it was handed in (probably by a secondary party after some fun had been had by the original finder culprit) some calls and texts etc... had been made? Weird and I did follow a few of the contacted numbers up, it appears they were innocent parties to prank calls. I should have at least locked my phone I guess!

Review 31:Staff exceptional, helpful & friendly at all times. Terrific room.

Review 32:Would have liked a view of the river. View of street not very good.

Review 33:Lovely room, comfortable bed and luxurious bathroom. Coffee machine in room. All facilities top class.

Review 34:I didn't like the access in and out it the Hotel part, sometimes locked so had to walk through the Casino.

Review 35:I was on business but did do a couple of walks along the river

Review 36:Some staff were lovely, others gave the impression they didn't want to help, we were even lectured because we didn't know to pay on checking in (we thought we had as we supplied credit card) Unsure if I would stay again due to the attitude of those staff members We were also unhappy that there were no slippers supplied as per room description and we were in quite a small room compared to the picture on this page

Review 37:Was lovely that after checking in and putting our things away in the room that the bed was turned back for us and a chocolate left on the bed with the breakfast menu. The bed was amazingly comfortable, as well as the robes supplied - overall clean and tidy room

Review 38:Lack of swimming pool.

Review 39:Location was great. Rooms very nicely decorated and kept as was whole hotel. Staff were helpful when our room was ready late . Great value for money.

Review 40:The WiFi is pathetic if you could connect the speed was wowfull. Tv is very low quality, the device that drives the TV locks up and you need to pull the cabinet out and power reset.

Review 41:The Hotel and staff were very good

Review 42:Decor could be better, for a heritage hotel - I had expected something along the lines of Lillianfels in Blue Mountains NSW. Balcony had no privacy from next room & poor quality furniture.

Review 43:Friendly staff, great bed with comfortable down pillows, excellent location, and good large room for gym facility.

Review 44:The modernized bar on the ground floor is just wrong for this property which needs to have the stately old elegance of the original building. Likewise, the plastic "stained" glass around the entrance doors is a serious blemish. A serious drawback is not having access to the balcony outside the room and not even being able to open a window.

Review 45:For the most part, preservation of the elegance of the original neoclassical building. The courteous and helpful staff, especially Grant, the concierge.

Review 46:Loved that I got an early check in. The room was larger than expected and the bed was super comfortable and the décor perfect. So close to the Shopping mall, the Cultural precinct and the Train station. The Staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying again, it was a pleasure.

Review 47:Wonderful room, conveniently located in the city & lovely staff. We were given a bottle of wine to celebrate my husband's birthday. They were so nice.

Review 48:the room was beautiful.the staff were only to happy to assist.the meals at the restaurant were world class.overall service was excellent and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Review 49:The atmosphere was brilliant, very helpful staff, the deluxe rooms are just amazing in size, comfort, no street noise even though it is on busy roads, and warm.

Review 50:Breakfast at the lab bar was terrible, both food and service

Review 51:Stayed for our wedding and the room and room, furniture and the rest of the hotel was perfect for elegant & classic photographs

Review 52:Parking was an issue every time we entered or left the car park (no facility for Hotel Guests to just insert a card for access). Hotel rooms were a bit tired and old. Car park (shared with Casino with no dedicated Hotel Guest area) was always full and we had to park a long way away from lifts etc.

Review 53:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and large. Location was good

Review 54:It is a beautiful hotel and the staff were outstanding. I had a function (son's wedding) as well as being a guest. Both sets of interactions were very satisfactory.

Review 55:Access to car parking and obtaining a ticket. Getting into the Hotel from lift. Not very well sign posted. No help to find my room. $4 charge for a small bottle of water very steep.

Review 56:Location

Review 57:Shower in the bath - I found it a bit hard to get in and out of due to bad arthritis in knees

Review 58:The feel of this lovely old building, the size of the rooms, the location

Review 59:The sheer size of the room itself was a big surprise. The photos do not do the room any justice. It is massive for a hotel style room with very high ceiling and marble finished in the bathroom. I was amazed with the room. Great value. The hotel is a short walk (across the road) to the casino and restaurants which was ideal. I didn't check-in until 9pm, so was pleased to find that Fat Noodles which opens till 11pm. A great place if you want something fulfilling and quick.

Review 60:Finding the car park, rang a few times and staff were not helpful at all. More annoyed with the questions then helpful. Long walk with bags to the room from carpark.

Review 61:The room was lovely and clean

Review 62:Accommodation was dated and not particularly attractive in our room. The Staff made no real effort: no one to open doors or greet you; no help on looking lost; no greetings on passing; didn't get the room we booked; and, the room was ordinary.

Review 63:The location and the architecture

Review 64:Excelllent location for a quick business trip to QLD and the dining experiences where very good. The staff at the restaurant couldn't have been more helpful.

Review 65:The bed was most uncomfortable. One side had a big dip in it. The pillows were also disappointingly lumpy. The room was quite dark. The seafood buffet advertised on the hotel's website was actually across the road in the casino.

Review 66:Good central location with a easy walk across the river to Southbsnk. Lovely big room. Nice view across to Southbank. Pity we couldn't get out to the balcony to enjoy it more. Although the bathroom was lovely, it was not easy to get into the bathtub to shower because of a wide ledge. Older people would find this very difficult and dangerous. We booked at a special reduced rate. I don't think the room was worth the full price.

Review 67:The distance from the car park to the rooms with carrying luggage. 3 lifts later and we arrived.

Review 68:Staff were great . Room was beautiful, bed comfy and water hot. Breakfast was A1, we couldn't ask for anything better.

Review 69:The Receptionist that welcomed us was very cold. We felt like we were intruding on her and were a nuisance.

Review 70:it was lovely and comfortable. Room service for Dinner was great.

Review 71:The staff at the Lab Bar and Restaurant placed a birthday card on the table and presented me with a plate of chocolate truffles for my 40th. Such lovely care and attention to detail during my special High Tea. The room was beautiful also.

Review 72:The staff were helpful when I asked about the buildings history but would be nice to see more articles, stories, books, around the building as I find it very interesting I think other people would too, there was nothing about the building

Review 73:I met a really helpful member of staff who had worked there a long time, I wanted to know more history and if there were any ghosts. He took me around the building and told me all about it- I would love to come back -actually I want to move in it was so brilliant.

Review 74:I would prefer softer bed, but that is personal preference.

Review 75:Excellent staff, courteous and helpful Great room, very clean and comfortable, quiet Location excellent got access to our conference at Brisbane convention and exhibition centre

Review 76:Poor signage - I walked around the casino looking for the hotel entrance - it was the building across the road.

Review 77:Lovely building. Very comfortable. Very convenient to convention centre - a brisk 10-15 minute walk.

Review 78:It seems like a haunted hotel room, the voltage of electric isn't stable thus the light is going on n off. Had breakfast at the hotel, ordered big breakfast. The chefs must think I need the extra fat to gain weight, they serve bacon with only the fat part and no lean meat.

Review 79:The location

Review 80:The location is perfect for Brisbane. The Service was great. It is always nice, when you have to spend an extended stay in a hotel and all the staff address you by name

Review 81:Shower/Bath needs a step , difficult . Wasted 6 hrs thurs pm trying to get online to book more accom as you booked S & S & too exp for me on the fri . Had to end up staying & paying as could not get online in time .i went down to concierge,..fix,..then back in room drop out. after I realised it not my fault had to then pay a premium price for room Fri .Concierge came up spent 30 mins trying also. Had to bring up booster. Lost all my relax & tour time& pay exorbitant price for the fri . Also my door card failed every time went to room so had to come back down every time..didn't always refill my coffee pods milk & bikkis

Review 82:Room style was beautiful, & huge .(just pity couldn't get on balcony.) Position.

Review 83:This reservation was for my friends 25th and she was delighted to find out she was staying here. The staff gave her a nice small personalised welcome and birthday celebration gift which was a lovely suprise. It was also very easily accessible and easy to find your way around for a large building

Review 84:dirty breakfast dishes still not collected by 4pm, quality of breakfast, raw eggs burnt bacon, the absolute terrible meal at the lab, the very vauge directions given by staff, i was very very dissapointed with this establishment, the sauna didnt work..the list goes on..ive never complained about accomadation before, and am not a whinger , but this place is an expensive dud

Review 85:bathroom

Review 86:We were given an amazing room with a private balcony.Coffee machine supplied and a very comfortable bed with cute chocolates laid out for us in the evening.Newspaper delivered in the morning. We'll be back!!

Review 87:Location was great, with good staff and comfortable room. It rained the whole time I was there, but lucky our room was great and close to Queen st mall. the other good thing was valet parking

Review 88:Only coffee pods and I've never used a pod machine. Some instant coffee along with the teas would be nice. But otherwise wonderful.

Review 89:Loved the deluxe king room with large foyer and marble-look bathroom. Very spacious. Elegant drapes across high double doors opening onto balcony looking over a city park. Décor reflects the building's heritage.

Review 90:The staff was poor, nobody help us with our baggage like the first time, and we was really tired after a long flight. The room was near a lot of noise. The next morning the cleaner wake up is at 7.30 , putting on the light while we still sleeping. That was uncomfortable.

Review 91:Room service with our late night food qwas really good. Thanks

Review 92:Carpet was stickey, bathroom floor also felt stickey. Ironing board was below quality level.

Review 93:The professionalism of the staff. The room was roomy and comfortable

Review 94:The staff were amazing, at both the Hotel and the Casino. From the cleaners to the Concierge and everyone in between, they were so friendly and welcoming.

Review 95:We tried to park underneath but had trouble because the intercom wasn't working. After 2 attempts got a bit frustrating.Overall the place felt neglected.eg screw in wall next to reception gave bad impression.

Review 96:The staff were helpful.

Review 97:The room initially was very dark but lit up when the sun came throught the skylight. I would have liked it to be brighter at night.

Review 98:I was fortunate to be upgraded to a suite and loved the high ceilings and space.

Review 99:Great location, great dining options, amazing room on the top floor with the city views, clean and very comfortable accommodation. Would score 9/10

Review 100:The pillows were too high for us and the bed a bit bouncy. If there was a pillow menu, we didn't find it.

Review 101:The room was huge and everything was really beautiful. So quiet, you really feel cocooned once inside. The bathroom is excellent.

Review 102:The staff member at check in was friendly, quick and efficient. The restaurant where we had dinner was fabulous "Ryan's". Staff were diligent, friendly and well trained, thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Review 103:The room air-conditioning was too cold ad difficult to adjust

Review 104:We tried the room service menu which was excellent. We got very helpful advice from hotel staff as to walking around Brisbane.

Review 105:The decor lets it down, particularly in common areas such as the bar. The qualty of fittings and furniture would enhance the experience enormously

Review 106:The building is fantastic

Review 107:Leaving !

Review 108:My room was wonderful. I stayed for a week. The air con excellent. Location perfect. Staff were calm, polite and professional. I will recommend to anyone.

Review 109:That we couldn't stay longer!! :-)

Review 110:I was very impressed with the little added touches we experienced...it was my boyfriends birthday and i was very grateful for the complimentary drink vouchers and surprise bottle of wine and card as well...made the overnight stay very memorable

Review 111:Bar closed too early "Ryan's". We got there at 7:30 PM Sunday and it closed at 8. No options provided for us even though we were in our wedding outfits and told them through Booking.com on booking. Complimentary bottle of wine given in the room on arrival but no bubbly, so we had to go to the Casino across the park for some.

Review 112:Stunning room and view, very tasteful in keeping with period of building and frantic location.

Review 113:breakfast is not a full breakfast no tea or coffee with pastry, which all I ever need. Why do that?

Review 114:the staff are marvellous, the hotel is a delightful relaxing place to stay

Review 115:Pay-for wifi. Good grief, even the council and Maccas has free internet. And pay-for movies. This is a lots-of-stars hotel. Need some thinking here folks.

Review 116:Proximity to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Will come back again and again.

Review 117:WE HAD BOOKED A KING SIZE ROOM BUT ON ARRIVAL WERE TOLD IT WAS IN THE OTHER BUILDING ACSESSED BY A TUNNEL UNDER THE PARK .WE HAD TO SETTLE FOR A TWIN ROOM IN THE CASINO NOT IMPRESSED

Review 118:When I booked I was not aware I was allocated an internal room. There was no mention on the website that this would be the room I was paying for. Happily the staff was able to re allocate me a room after some one else cancelled. I would have been very unhappy paying the rate for a room without a window.

Review 119:The location and central parking was excellent. The Room was comfortable and large. It did feel luxurious. The staff were very helpful.

Review 120:Car park lack of information from staff not able to access easily with luggage .very run down in appearance . Bedding not comfortable old pillows and mattresses , wouldn't go again .

Review 121:Location handy to everything

Review 122:room were big and spacious, high ceilings comfortable beds, huge bathroom, loved the nesspresso machine in our room.10 out of 10.staff were extremely helpful.

Review 123:Restaurant cold, average food and incredibly long wait for any food, room very cold and couldn't turn air conditioner off.

Review 124:Old world charm, good size rooms, well located.

Review 125:The car park was a little difficult to find and the doors to the balcony wouldn't open.

Review 126:The building & room were lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to help.

Review 127:The tired old ambience, the presentation was certainly not 5 star as advertised, the shocking entrance on arrival with Nowhere to park outside the entrance and poor signage on arrival at the car park.A loading of $ 100 on arrival on your credit card is an immediate show of 2nd rate management and mark of poor taste with guest.I have stayed in many of the best hotels throughout the world and would never return to this sort of hotel behaviour.

Review 128:The architecture should remain and be restored to a grand Hotel Lacking in Brisbane
