Reviews for Nusa Holiday Village
Review 1:The hotel staff didnt help at all. We didnt find the location due to poor direction and lack of help of hotel staff. In the end we booked another hotel.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:An excellent place nearby Taman Negara, but outside the busiesst area. Something we would expect when going to a parc in the rain forest. Friendly people, simple but good meals, simple but good rooms
Review 4:Toilet - shower
Review 5:Everybody is unbelievble friendly, everymorning somebody is asking us what or plans are if he can help, even you dont need help its fine. Transportation is no problem, perfect on time, food was really good, nice river , amazing view
Review 6:no credit card acceptance - cash only! (the info from booking.com is not correct)
Review 7:5km down the river from Kuala Tahan - no people, no crowd - just remote, just nature. Nothing more needed. Really nice staff, very helpful and friendly.
Review 8:Food is so poor, no activities at night, smell in the chalet , no coffee maker set inside the chalet, no mineral water service
Review 9:Nice view specially at morning and friendly staff
Review 10:Cons: poor cleanliness of rooms for the price paid 20 mins away from main forest restricted travel by boat Staff didn't always organise trips well
Review 11:Pros: Some tours were more personalised Quiet away from main town Great restaurant and very good value food
Review 12:Did not have a credit card service even though on my booking.com confirmation form it said they did. Thankfully Nusa ended up taking a credit card payment in the end but it put financial strain on me for a couple of days not doing as many things as I would have liked wondering if I was going to have enough cash. We also arrived later than the last boat so we were stuck for a few hours waiting for them to come and pick us up.
Review 13:We loved the view from our chalet Food was yummy Surroundings amazing Staff caring and sweet.
Review 14:Since Nusa village is only reachable by boat you are bound by the boat timetable - which would still be fine (unless you want to go for some tours after 6pm), however, the boat leaves anytime it wants. So if you think that the last boat is at 6.20pm and come there around 5.45pm don't be surprised when someone tells you that the boat has already left and there is no other boat (of course you will find some other people that will take you by their boat and charge you extra loads, and you wont be able to complain about it when you get to Nusa village because people don't really speak English there). As mentioned before staff doesn't really speak English so just hope that you won't have any problem and be prepared to have no questions. The air-conditioner was as extra loud and water was leaking from it. The whole house felt like it was going to fall any time. The shower and toilet are in one tiny room - shower over the toilet, also there is no hot water.
Review 15:Real jungle experience.
Review 16:Room was very basic.
Review 17:Very nice view/location. Nice walk to the waterfall in the jungle.
Review 18:cats in the restaurant
Review 19:excellent location and view of the river
Review 20:The bed and towels need replacement. The rooms to be renovated
Review 21:The boat trip was amazing
Review 22:*used to stay in this hotel in 2010, was quite disappointed that it was not well maintained after these 3 years. * when we reached, it was raining heavily. a hot shower would help so much, and it was nightmare when we found out the water heater was not working. we were quite disappointed that the management didn't have a standard procedure to check the basics in the room
Review 23:*i enjoyed the boat ride to the hotel *this hotel has both chalet and campsite, so, it's a good place for those who wants to try out camping but not so adventurous to do it out in the wild * I love to visit Taman Negara, so much to do close to the nature. This is the 3rd time I am there.
Review 24:Nothing! Perfect place to stay.
Review 25:Very kind and helpfull staff! Food is very nice and not expensive. Nice family room. Location of Nusa is fantastic....amazing view over the river. Its possible to cool down or fish in the river.
Review 26:Whole place was unkempt. There was one other couple staying there on a weekend also I am sure by mistake. It seemed that the last time anybody invested any money in it was 10 years back. There was absolutely nothing to do or see except the river. In my room there was single incandescent lamp hanging but not working. AC in my friends hut didn't work. Though whole place was empty, he could not change the hut since was not cleaned yet.
Review 27:Boat trip to the hotel was the only really enjoyable part. Only other thing which really could be called the girl Umie. This little lady, weighing not more than 35 Kg, was receptionist, waitress, cleaner and the cook combined in one. Food, though not much choice was good.
Review 28:Awesome food cooked in the Nusa restaurant, I never expected so well made fresh fruit juices at a location so remote, and the fried rice are to die for.
Review 29:Quite basic accomodation, but we were prepared for this. Very reasonable prices.
Review 30:Location is beautiful and pieceful. We very much enjoyed the boatride to and from Kuala Tahan. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of space in the outdoor terrace restaurant, where we spent the afternoons reading and enjoying the view of the river while the kids were playing board games.
Review 31:My bathroom was slowly leaking water and also I couldnt get hot waterout of the shower, so I ended taking my showers in the daytime when itsblazing hot anyways and a cold shower felt good.
Review 32:If you want to stay in the middle of nowhere, this is your spot. Itsgreat for the adventure traveler and I would absolutely stay thereagain. (Although I would never bring my girlfriend there) That beingsaid, the rooms are crap, outdated and of course dirty because you arein the middle of the freaking jungle. Dont expect good service or anyluxuries, but you can expect the peace and quite of the jungle as youlisten to the sounds of nature and the river roaring past. Pay the extramoney for the river view, its worth it. River View #4 has the best view, try to request that. The short boat ride up and back to Kuala Tahan isgreat, you finally feel like you are leaving the tourist behind andgetting into nature. The food was ok and really cheap, the people werefriendly and nice and spoke good English. I didnt see the teenagers andbad service that other reviewerss complained about. Bring a good book, because after the 6pm boat to the hotel there is nothing to do excepteat dinner. I arranged my travel from kl to here via nks Travel, 75Ringgit for bus+boat to Kaual Tahan from kl. If I was coming to visitagain I would definitely stay at Nusa if I was alone or Multinara if Iwas with my girlfriend. All the other places in this area are absolutecrap, budget accommodation so make sure to have the right expectations.
Review 33:Location. Poor transportation to the hostel
Review 34:It's cool it's in the national park
Review 35:Very friendly staff. Location is good for jungle excursions. Everything very basic.
Review 36:Air conditioning did not work
Review 37:Lovely staff. Great food and very comfortable. Would recommend
Review 38:Nice place to have a vacation. Friendly and warm welcome from staff.
Review 39:Lack of local food. Have to request in advance for a local fish. How pathetic.
Review 40:Location. Quite isolated. Not busy
