Review 1：Large ring on stove didn't work. Light bulb out in main bedroom. Very noisy from upstairs movement even when the person above rolled over in bed. Wasn't explained that the 6th bed was a rollout bed, obviously not as comfortable as a real bed would have been.

Review 2：Location Allowed late checkout at short notice

Review 3：We werent too choosy about the type of accomodation on our trip as we just wanted a bed to sleep in. So this place fit the bill. However, if I was to compare price vs quality of accomodation, I have stayed in nicer facilitiies for the same price (in other locations - not Hanmer Springs). But in this instance, the accomodation met our brief on a very busy summer holiday period so happy with our stay.

Review 4：The owner of the place was a wonderful lady with a very friendly dog - that we loved! We arrived quite late (after 10pm) and it was not an issue for her to deal with us and she was fantastic to us on check out. Great personality.

Review 5：No curtains over front windows and light poured in all night. Party kept us awake next door. Pillows cheap and uncomfortable and freezing cold because the heater was on a timer and you had to get out of bed to push a button on the wall every hour. It was supposed to have cooking facilities but a cook top in a cupboard that you have to pull out and plug in not useful..

Review 6：Good location and clean despite being tired and run down.

Review 7：Very dated. Terrible mattresses and the shower was shocking and leaked to the downstairs. No good facilities for kids, the swing they did have was not fenced so had direct access to the road.

Review 8：Outdated furniture and furnishings, room very dark, poorly maintained (eg lightbulbs not working, broken soap dispenser), room smelled of cigarette smoke. Very poor standard of accommodation compared to the other options available in Hanmer.

Review 10：The cookware and facilities are quite old. Be prepared that not all the pans, spoons, etc aren't that great.

Review 16：But, the studio units are very shabby, worn rugs covering very worn carpets, grubby drawer pulls in kitchen, cooking equipment not clean. The cost does not reflect the quality of accommodation - $135 is too high. Later that week we stayed at an exceptional studio unit in Akaroa, great views, quality furnishings etc, for $140 - ok that was a mid-week special, but reflects the essential goodness of the place.

Review 26：The host was welcoming and did everything she could to get the place warm for us as it happened out main heating was not working. The apartment was very clean and spacious for a young family with kids with our own little garden which was snowed in when we arrived :)

Review 27：A note saying unit due for refurbishment does not excuse missing and not working light bulbs... 3 in our unit including missing bulb on outside light at only entry we could use with key; and rubbish from prior occupant still in bin. Had to reset heater every hour... not a biggie but . Hope refurbishment resolves the above and that unit locking is improved to be user friendly and secure

Review 30：The staff was very friendly and considerate, the heater was turned on to warm up the house prior to our arrival. The rooms are clean. Hot water shower is nice. Electric blanket comes with every bed. 4 of us had a 2 bed-room unit, we all enjoyed our stay.

Review 31：Property was unprepared for our arrival and claimed no knowledge of the requirement for an infants cot even though it was clearly requested at time of booking (months before). We were told on arrival that the electric blankets were not working and had not been changed or repaired and had to wait a further 30mins or so for them to be changed. Several power points were not working meaning that extension cords had to be run between bathroom and bedroom to run heaters making it difficult to manage a young toddler in the rooms due to danger of the cords on the floor.

Review 32：The last stop of a 10 day stay in NZ. Location was good and facilities generally ok but very basic compared to others at similar pricing.

Review 35：The double bed was very hard and uncomfortable and squeaked when you moved so we didn't sleep well. (The single beds were very comfortable though). It was tired and dated - the bathroom was in poor condition.

Review 37：We have stayed at Hanmer Resort for 8 years and at least 3/4 times a year and have never been disappointed. It's homely, like having drawers to put clothes away and kitchen adequate and fits our needs. Friendly staff and very obliging. Will miss it when upgrade is done.

Review 38：Cost to do one load of washing, $4 for washing machine, cold wash only as hot water not working, $4 for dryer, $2 for soap powder.

Review 42：The fridge wasn't clean and it was so noisy we had to turn the tv up just to drown out the noise. There were no net curtains in the lounge so every person that walked passed the unit looked right in as it was road side. The shower too had no pressure and it was incredibly old and the toilet too was way too close to the wall so when you stood up you nearly knocked yourself out or banged your head.

Review 44：This is an economy resort that is 100 meters away from the springs. We went to Hammer Springs specifically for the pools. I have rated the resort as excellent, but please keep the rating in context with the price of the stay. For the cost, this resort is clean, comfortable, and well cared for. The facilities could use some updating, however everything was in good shape and pleasant.

Review 45：Not a bad experience, but we found the pillows very hard and bouncy. A chopping board in the kitchen would be helpful, and perhaps a colander or sieve to drain vegetables.

Review 50：Our booking stated we had an apartment with 4 single beds and a double.However, one of the singles was in fact an old foldout that had dodgysprings and a 2cm thick mattress!! It hadn't been used in ages andwas probably ok for a small toddler, but not for a teenager!! Themanager ran out of the little milk bottles that everyone gets for teaetc, and promised to get some for us, but only did so after I went backand asked her twice more. She was also really grumpy about it, andcomplained to me that since I'd booked the accom through an externalagency, she was going to have to pay some commission. Very creaky andthin floors - sounded like they were going to collapse through to thebottom level.

We only had one night there but she made us feel so welcomed and spoilt while we relaxed at the hot pools after a full on 5 day family reunion in Tuahiwi, our awesome host assisted Us with our laundry, on return to the room it was all washed, dried and folded...thank u so much...hanmer resort was the topping of a terrific week ... Well recommended to all, while we have stayed in 5 star places nothing out does personal hospitality.

Review 66：After receiving extreme rudeness from the usual hotel chain we stay with, we made enquiries with Hanmer Resort Motel and have now stayed a few times over the last few months. The units are always clean and comfortable and the moteliers are extremely hospitable - very friendly and welcoming. Great value - highly recommended.

Review 67：It not really a dislike but the décor is a bit dated Floor coverings, cupboard doors, bedspreads etc. These things did not distract us from having a great stay

Review 69：The décor was dated. We arrived in darkness and the motel was hard to find due to there being no lit sign on the drive way. A group of trades men held a loud party next door to us until late. I could find no phone in the room to ring reception so had to call on my cell phone and then got an answering machine. The manager eventually did get them to stop. When I complained at check out I got told I was a big enough guy, why didn't I knock on their door myself? I was surprised I wasn't asked to clean my room and make my bed and clean the sheets and towels as well. Wont be back

Review 71：The decor was very outdated for the price of the accommodation. My son took his xbox but couldn't use it as the tv was too old to connect to. We selected a family unit with full kitchen but found the large element on the stove was not working. We pulled the toaster out and plugged it into the closest power point (which was on the oven) but it did not go. There were no oven trays provided at all. The bathroom window (upstairs) only opened all the way out. Given this is a family unit it was very dangerous as a child could easily fall out of it. You couldn't leave the window open while taking a shower as anyone below could see in.
