Reviews for Hotel La Cabaña MachuPicchu

Review 1:I was prefer see the mountains that the principal street

Review 2:I was like the stuff, very professional and friendly. Their try always make easy my trip with suggest and facilities.

Review 3:The hotel staff were top-notch. They were very helpful in helping us ahead of time with travel arrangements to Machu Picchu. Our room was lovely and clean. The breakfast was wonderful and beautifully presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 4:We lost water pressure completely on several occasions during the short time we actually stayed in the room during our 2-night stay.

Review 5:Staff was very friendly and helpful. They packed a breakfast and lunch in the morning for the Machu Picchu hike and gave us tips on the hike as well as places to eat in Aguas Calientes.

Review 6:Staff was really helpful. Met us at the train station and helped us hike up the hill with the luggage. Arrived at the end of breakfast and they made fresh eggs for us. Really helpful staff and comfortable clean hotel.

Review 7:Wifi only accessible in lounge and from our room we could hear absolutely everything going on in the corridor all night long. Thin walls/doors.

Review 8:Great breakfast buffet with lots of nuts from early onwards in the morning. Friendly staff, great luggage storage and delivery to station for departure

Review 9:Nada

Review 10:Great attention to detail love the fresh flowers thank you. How clean everything! Friendly staff! thank you for all especially the lovely bedroom and breakfast. great location

Review 11:-they asked us to pay one day before the check out because it was the end of the month -no hot water the first day because the gas was over -the breakfast was from 5:00 to 9:00 a.m. but when we went down to have it at 5:45 a.m. there was nothing yet -the second morning we went down to have breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and the breakfast room was closed. They told us that was because all the other guest had gone to Machu Picchu and that we could had have our breakfast only in our room -big spiders in the room

Review 12:-The second morning they gave us several supplies and 20 dollars back to solve the problem of the breakfast

Review 13:When we got to the hotel there were insufficient beds allocated for the number of people on our booking. The hotel offered us an additional room at our expense and did not accept responsibility for their error. In the end they reluctantly provided us with a bigger room with a double bed which meant that our daughters had to sleep in the same bed. Altogether an inferior solution to our booking. No apology for their error - totally spoilt our stay there.

Review 14:The hotel was in a good location.

Review 15:Bathrooms are a little small, but had all the amenities.

Review 16:The staff were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and local information. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a couple of community seating areas. The complimentary breakfast for hotels in this price range was wonderful with a variety of breads, fresh fruit, granola, nuts and dried fruit, and several hot dishes. Hot coffee and tea and a basket of fruit are available all day. It's on the main drag but beyond the crowded areas so was also very quiet. We highly recommend it!

Review 17:NOISE. EVERYTIME A DOOR CLOSES IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S SLAMMING. bed was way to firm and comforter had stains all over it. towels were small and rough.

Review 18:good shower I'm sorry but aguas calientes is gross and I would recommend training in and out on the same day. there is no reason to stay in this town - it's a tourist trap, the food is gross, and I can't imagine how much grosser the hostels are compared to this place.

Review 19:We felt like all Aquas hotels were overpriced, but this was a great option overall

Review 20:Location - top of the hill, near the hot springs, but everything is walking distance and we weren't bothered by being at the top of the hill Comfy bed Hot shower with good water pressure Nice breakfast - buffet with nice lounge area Good wifi The hotel held our luggage during our train to Macchu Piccu the following day - you can only carry a 5 or 8kg small bag on the train and into MP, traveler beware! Luggage felt safe

Review 21:If you can sustain a wifi signal strength anywhere in the hotel; consider yourself extremely lucky. Wifi in the rooms is practically non-existent. Staff won't compensate anyone for the wifi problems. Breakfast is bare bones. The whole stay was quite expensive. They also overcharged me for the stay by not following booking.com confirmation. You can argue it but the staff doesn't care. All they care about is making even more money and to make you even more miserable - absolute vile distasteful, and disgusting greed. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

Review 22:Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was relatively good.

Review 23:there was confusion at check-in. I was very specific booking on-line that we had 3 adults (two beds) and they didn't know it at the desk. They changed our rate for 3 adults and I had based my decision to stay there partially on location and rate given on-line. I didn't have my reservation information with me to prove my point so we agreed to the new rate. Not good.

Review 24:WiFi connection dropped continuously. Asked for a wake up call so we could meet our guide on time. No one called. Breakfast was supposed to be served 5-9am. We arrived at 5:45 and breakfast was not set up. We had a quick bite of cold rolls so we could meet our guide. We left our luggage at the front desk and they agreed to meet us at the train station with it in the afternoon. They arrived very late putting us at risk of missing our train.

Review 25:Spacious rooms. Clean facilities.

Review 26:We stayed at La Cabana for one night before we went to Machu Picchu. The location is great and the staff is very helpful. We had a room at the top floor which was very big and nice. The only downside is that at night we could hear some animals running on the roof which was a bit scary and kept us up the whole night. Breakfast is limited but good.

Review 27:Cold shower morning and night. Paper thin walls. Wifi hardly worked in lobby. Couldn't, wouldn't?, give any advice on where to eat. Didn't respond to me post stay when I had left something in my room.

Review 28:Comfortable bed and pillow. Warm welcome. Great breakfast. Safe and clean. Quiet at night.

Review 29:I liked everything about this hotel.

Review 30:This hotel was one of my favorite of all times. It was in a perfect location, central to tourist Cusco and great restaurants within walking distance. It was quiet in spite of being in the middle of things. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the bar served the best Pisco sour to be had anywhere.

Review 31:Fairy expensive for Peru but all acommodations in aguas calientes are far more expensive than the rest of peru.

Review 32:Comfortable nice shower Luggage storage during machu picchu visit

Review 33:Sleazy! Our door felt like it didn't really lock and could have been broken into at any moment. We woke in the middle of the night when the hotel staff knocked on the door of the neighbors across the hall - they apparently gave the staff fake US passports when they initially arrived, and were actually citizens of Colombia. The staff was asking them why they lied! We could clearly hear the entire conversation, that's how thin our walls / open our door frame was. For some reason, they were eventually allowed to stay the night. We were so worried the entire time and didn't sleep hardly at all. Such a grueling event... We would never do it again!

Review 34:Wi-Fi available, free breakfast

Review 35:The reviews on this place are way off. It's 5 minutes from the bus or train station up a gentle hill. Room comfy and clean, but noisy. Nothing earplugs can't handle. WiFi excellent in some rooms, but iffy signal quality in ours. Overall, great place to overnight.

Review 36:bit noisy at times when people where working in buildings nearby a bit pricey but this is the case for all hotels and restaurants in Aguas Caliente/ MachuPicchu

Review 37:good location comfortable bed good facilities

Review 38:Walls paper thin - can hear people walking/showering/talking in adjacent rooms No iron/ironing No one was on reception in evening/early morning Smelt a bit musty Rooms dark Bathroom was cramped

Review 39:Made a towel sculpture on bed with chocolates on arrival Location was OK - uphill walk Wifi was intermittent

Review 40:- smaller, dated standard rooms and tight bathroom (unless maybe upgrade to suite) with no external light access in ours - comparatively pricey for similar type hotels in the area - pretty poor wifi access in rooms

Review 41:- the included breakfast - varied, nice spread - friendly staff - they offer porters for receive you/your luggage and drop off your luggage at train station as location of hotel is quite uphill - they stored our luggage the day of MP hike

Review 42:Noisy (all the people who are going to the Machu Picchu from 4:30 to 6:30 wake you up because of the noise). A bit far (10min by foot) from the bus station and railway station. The pick up service is just a guy who is waiting for you to carry your bag but no cars in Aguas Caliente so you have to follow him, by foot and it's climby... !!!!

Review 43:The breakfast. The friend j'y staff

Review 44:Great location and customer service.

Review 45:Nothing!

Review 46:Amazing friendly, helfpul staff and lovely rooms. Easily accessible location from train and bus to Machu Picchu.

Review 47:Taking stairs to top floor!

Review 48:Staff was excellent. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 49:Wifi was very slow. Sometimes couldn't connect at all.

Review 50:Really nice room and comfy bed.

Review 51:Nothing I can think of.

Review 52:Great that we were met at the station because we would have had trouble finding it.

Review 53:Service was spectacular. Picked us up at the train station, delivered our bags to us at the train station after a long day at Machu Picchu.

Review 54:Everyhing was wonderful! the staff, the breakfast, the comfort! Very Nice!

Review 55:No problems, the hotel was very good.

Review 56:The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff could not have been nicer.

Review 57:The street outside is loud and busy

Review 58:Close to bus and lots of restaurants

Review 59:The location and the great service.

Review 60:No lights in the restaurant Bad wifi Hair dryer no works

Review 61:Room Breakfast Staff

Review 62:Room was a little small

Review 63:Location, staff, breakfast

Review 64:Wifi......really poor

Review 65:Good position Good hotel

Review 66:We received an upgraded room.

Review 67:Small room.

Review 68:Great staff

Review 69:Great staff and nice location.

Review 70:Noisy.

Review 71:Could shower after several days of hiking

Review 72:The people who work there were exceptionally nice and it was east to get where we wanted to go. It's a great little place and we had zero issues.

Review 73:The hotel had some noisy guests which was annoying when we were trying to get an early night. The noise seemed to echo through the hotel.

Review 74:Comfortable beds

Review 75:The staff went out of their way for us. There had been a problem with our reservation and they were able to rectify it and help with anything we needed, directions, recommendations for meals, etc. The hotel was nice, but noisy with all the construction surrounding it. Location was good as it was away from town and shops, but an easy walk walk to main streets. Calgary, Alberta

Review 76:The 10/15 minute walk uphill from the train/bus station or town center was a bit daunting for us. A heavy suitcase could be an issue (bags with wheels may be OK though there are some steps to climb)

Review 77:We were met at the station by the hotel staff to guide us to the hotel. They helped us carry our bag. At least one staff spoke fairly good English and all were very helpful in giving us good advice as to what to do to get to the historical site and where else to go. The location has good eating places close by and is 10 minutes away from the hot springs.

Review 78:Awful construction noise during the day. (Probably nothing they can do about that) Restaurant closed.

Review 79:My room was really nice, comfy bed with down comforter, good pillows. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, but really just the continental breakfast that used to always be standard. Don't expect a full-on buffet.

Review 80:The attitude of the staff when things were pointed out to them -i.e. improperly cleaned rooms (dirty towels from previous guests still in the room, pillows missing cases) and a gap above the door that provided un- welcome ventilation and a lack of privacy - Agua Calientes is an expensive town so just put up with it. NO! For $130 a night I DO expect better. Will not be recommending this hotel.

Review 81:The breakfast was good as was the shower.

Review 82:Location at top of hill. (Sore from trek). Ran out of hot water on second shower

Review 83:Able to leave bags secured by front desk while touring. Coffee, tea and small snacks available when we returned from our tour.

Review 84:Spotty internet.

Review 85:There was construction going on next door… the staff was kind enough to move me into a quieter - a larger - from the next night at no extra charge.

Review 86:The room was quite small with no place to store anything! No drawers or hangers -- just a bed and shower!

Review 87:The staff was friendly and they held our luggage during our day trip.

Review 88:Communication with reservations when requesting certain requirements for our stay. When certain amenities requested and guaranteed were not provided at hotel on arrival. Not the secretary's fault. Fault of young lady in Lima office. A/C promised yet they have no A/C.

Review 89:The staff. Very accommodating. Very sweet. Clean and had satellite TV The breakfast buffet had a lot of great options and available as early as 5am..

Review 90:No real negatives. Someone else (another thoughtless guest who got off the train ahead of us) took our arranged porter from the train station and we oldsters had a heavy walk up the rather steep hill carrying our bags

Review 91:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the showers were wonderful. By Aguas Caliente standards, where everything but restaurants is a little more expensive than Cusco, La Cabaña was reasonable value for money.

Review 92:location is on the far end of the town from the train station. walk is mostly up hill. at one time this was probably a very upscale hotel but now is not maintained to that degree. skimpy breakfast offerings, unattentive staff in dining room. paid more US$ here than for a 4-star hotel in Cusco that was perfectly maintained and staffed.

Review 93:friendly, helpful front desk staff

Review 94:Dirty bin full of bottles and litter in room on arrival.water in shower boiling hot and impossible to regulate hot and cold taps very dangerous. No wifi in bedrooms. Breakfast very very bad no jam of any kind.hotel situated at almost top of hill and a very steep climb with baggage.

Review 95:Comfortable beds and very hot water

Review 96:The floor was dirty with toenail clippings in the carpet. The bathroom was so cramped you had to sit sideways on the toilet as your knees would hit the wall otherwise.

Review 97:Good location and pleasant staff. Kept out bags while we went up to Machu Picchu.

Review 98:the room we had cost us $100 a night. where we live now, a $100 a night room comes with a jacuzzi, access to a spa and gym with sauna, room service, complimentary conditioner, shampoo, lotion, stationery set, bottled water, in room coffee maker with to-go containers of coffee and tea. $100 is incredibly expensive for a hotel room. The room, for the size and amenities, is worth about $40-$60. so i guess i didn't like the inflated pricing. i understand we were paying for the location though.

Review 99:I loved the way the rain sounded on the covered balcony area. I loved the comfortable sheets on the bed. I loved that the water in the showers got really hot. It was very quiet. I felt secure and safe.

Review 100:Can be a little noisey due to the location, but not a huge issue for us. Bathroom was tiny and very outdated.

Review 101:The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The location was fantastic for a visit to macchu picchu. The room was great

Review 102:Standard of breakfast poor. Staff very limited English and dumb. For example I asked to use the toilet downstairs! girl pointed in direction up the back. All the lights were turned off all the time downstairs. Could not see in the dark to go to toilet. Only one example. There were others too. No common sense.

Review 103:Tea coffee available all day and evening. However the lights were always turned off so had to fumble in the semi darkness to make it.

Review 104:The bathroom can be refreshed

Review 105:Staff very friendly and useful. Very clean, cozy and comfortable hotel. Reach breakfast starting at 5am which allow an early start to Machu Picchu. We left the luggage at the reception during the trip to Machu Picchu without any over charge

Review 106:A bit dark and lacking in warmth and any views. I am not sure any other place would have been much better. Location was fine!

Review 107:Clean, comfortable room of good size.

Review 108:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 109:Clean, comfortable. Nice, bright common area, with a shared patio/balcony, that helped extend the space. Very generous box lunch. Staff met us at the train station to help us with our bags back to the hotel.

Review 110:I paid $52 US which I think is about right.

Review 111:Good location not far from the plaza, both sets of ruins, right on the river which is a nice setting, but can be noisy at night if you are a light sleeper, the place was clean and well layed out, with good breakfast that is set out for you. The showers are fantastic, hot with great pressure.

Review 112:It was quite overpriced. There were similar places close by, which were 1/10th the price. I booked online and hence there was no recource, once I checked in. Bought it up to the girt at the front desk and she said that is the going rate and did not budge.

Review 113:Staff were helpful & friendly. Location is pretty good and is quiet.

Review 114:The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom, soaking clothes, toilet, towels, etc. It wasn't apparent that it sprayed over the wall until after I'd finished showering.

Review 115:Breakfast was delicious, and served early. Beds were comfortable.

Review 116:The drain system in the bathroom might have a problem and it smelled so bad... If I closed the bathroom door, it'll be ok and won't smell into my room but still the bathroom was stinky all the time...

Review 117:Staffs are very friendly and the facilities are maintained to be cleaned. Also you get free breakfast and water, coffee & tea all day. This hotel is close to hot springs.

Review 118:The room was expensive for the standard, however this is no different at any other hotel in Aguas Calientes. The room seemed clean on the surface however it was inconsistent and there were a number of spiders in the room. However again I would imagine this is fairly typical in this town.

Review 119:The staff were friendly and met us at the train station to walk us to the hotel which is a short 5 minute walk. Check in was easy and the room was spacious and tidy with Wifi, TV and ensuite toilet. We started early in the morning and would miss breakfast so they organised a packed lunch which helped when we visited MP

Review 120:I am 67 years old. I had climbed Machu Picchu that day. I was exhausted. They never warned people that no cars can enter the area. One must walkfrom the train station.I Feel you as a company should warn disabledpeople or old people what the consequences re. They brought a luggagecart and took me up there to my embarrassment and fear. They tried anornmal size wheelchair first. It was not wide enough. I told them Iwanted to change my reservation to a close hotel. They didn'trespond to my request to do that. They were reasonably kind andsupportive. I never want to be almost wheelbarrowed in AGAIN.pLEASEcorrect their ad to say not accessible except by walking.

Review 121:Pleasant comfortable place.

Review 122:Can hear people talking from the next room.

Review 123:Staff are really helpful. They have bought bus tickets for us before we arrive in order to catch the earliest bus in the next day.

Review 124:The bathroom and the closet smelled bad, the room and the bathroom had awindow to the corridor I mean that it was not possible to open itwithout losing privacy, the internet did not work, you could hear theconversations of all. The building has a nice façade but is terribledistributed inside. They only made as much rooms possible from the spacewithout thinking in ventilation, illumination and privacy and the resultis a smelly and uncomfortable rooms. As for the breakfast, they cut thefruit so small and thin and they are almost transparent.

Review 125:Good coffee and jams

Review 126:N/A

Review 127:Staff was friendly. Given the location and remoteness of Aguas Calientes, our expectations were low. Room was small but clean. Free breakfast was nice. We were only there one night and enjoyed out stay for the breif time we were there.

Review 128:- Misinformation by staff about crowd waiting for the bus to MP in the morning - No air-condition in the room - Request for new towels was forgotten 4 times in a row

Review 129:- We got upgrade from Junior to Luxury Suite - Huge & comfortable bed - Bright, clean and luxurious bathroom - Pick-up at the train station - Really good breakfast

Review 130:Super friendly staff! A bit away from the busy center but close enough for convenience. Rooms were clean, well-presented and comfortable. Just a short walk to the hot springs!

Review 131:The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and smelled like mold. Probably difficult to control in their environment. You could hear other guests in the hallway due to location of our room and "windows" that open into the hallways.

Review 132:The staff was extremely friendly, they met us at the train and walked us to the hotel.Close to mineral baths. Hotel has an awesome chess board that our family used. Great breakfast included in the nightly price. Comfortable beds. Late check out too. Found great restaurant: The Tree House.

Review 133:For the price, and given the competition, we had no complaints.

Review 134:Liz at the front desk was ever so friendly and helpful when we arrived - letting us know important info about obtaining tickets for Machu Picchu which saved us hours I'm sure. Always had a smile on her face and volunteered many of the hotel free services (bag drop / use of facilities to freshen up after visiting Machu Picchu / free coffee/ free internet - all long after we'd checked out - a really nice touch for a hotel). Room was well appointed and beds were really comfortable. Hot shower was really welcome too. We even got given a good luck charm each as a leaving gift!

Review 135:no hot water available in the sink. small bathroom

Review 136:the staff was very nice and helpful with luggage and information about activities in the surrounding areas.
