Review 1：Faded glory of the Grand hotel set.

Review 2：Its like stepping into a Wes Anderson movieset, Grand Hotel from the 1960's, totally over the top, marbled halls, gold statues, pool with a view, live music evenings, lots of mature couples reliving their youth, faded glory.

Review 3：Didn't receive equal attention from staff. Reception staff were curt and not very helpful . Felt it was an imposition to ask a question. Limited times for the Shuttle bus into Sorrento.

Review 5：The location is poor and the walk to the Sorrento town centre is not very pleasant along a narrow and dangerous road . Although the hotel does run a shuttle bus it is very infrequent. The decor is a little outdated and the breakfast was not up to a 5* standard.

Review 7：Although we didn't mind it the location is a bit far from the main area in Sorrento. it takes close to 30mins to walk but is easily reached. The hotel do run shuttle buses from the hotel to the main area but not frequent enough and the last bus back to the hotel is 11pm which is quite early as if you miss it taxis can be very expensive.

Review 15：Noise from the room above (sound of furniture being moved during the middle of the night.) We did complain and the problem was rectified. Not enough choice for vegetarians for the evening meal and very expensive. The hotel shuttle bus should be every hour to and from Sorrento. It is a 45 minute walk to Sorrento if you miss the shuttle bus. It is not a good walk as the pavements are very narrow or non at all. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The laundry service very expensive.

Review 16：Location of the hotel.Nice to have walk behind the hotel, through the orrange and lemon groves, however be careful of the stray dogs. Cleanliness of the hotel throughout. Friendly, efficient staff. We were given a coplimentary bottle of wine at the evening meal as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very good choice of food at breakfast. Clean pool, comfy bed. Room cleaned very well. Good position of hotel, 15 minutes walk to the train station. Ten minute walk to the church and tavernas. Mini fridge in the room, ideal to keep own bought drinks cool. Air conditioning very good.

Review 17：Only fault was Wi-Fi. A hotel of this standard should provide reasonable service. Local restaurants had better free Wi-Fi!! Maybe an afternoon bus also.

I felt it was very unsafe at times with lots of people standing on it right along the corridor and on entrances. Long way to way from town to hotel on a very narrow and as a result unsafe road.

Review 24：The courtesy bus provided to Sorrento was appreciated however the last bus back at 11pm was a sham for the following reasons; it was too early 11.30 or 12.00 would have been much better, it was always full with guests cramed on as it was only a 40 seater (some nights not all guests got on and were left behind) and one bus was provided for 2 hotels. WiFi connection was very weak.Bedroom was slightly tired and in need of updating but was very clean.

Review 32：The kingsize/large double bed was 2 singles put next to each other. The sheets were not big enough for the bed. There was only one English language TV channel and that thakfully was a news channel. There was a partial other news channel a few hours a day, There were no tea/coffee room making facility. Breakfast was not as 'high fibre' usually only white bread and sometimes only one choice of high fibre cereal.

Review 59：This hotel was an excellent choice away from the busy town of Sorrento. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service that is more than adequate. Walking to town is also possible, and a taxi back is reasonably priced. We had a lovely room with a view of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. The huge breakfast buffet was great. The hotel restaurant dinner menu changes daily and our meal was excellent. And of course we could take our unfinished bottle of wine to our room!

The free shuttle into Sorrento makes getting around pretty easy. The hotel has an air of old world grandeur about it which makes staying there really special.

Review 66：On arrival at meet and greet sat down and bottom fell out of chair, having recently undergone knee surgery if I had not been wearing a support I could have sustained further injury. ( I am not overweight) Later that day I was stuck between floors in the lift, eventually released but had to climb down to reach the floor, again more difficult due to knee problem. We decided to try the couples restaurant, the food was average, the service was rushed the table being cleared of floral decoration before we had finished eating, (fawlty towers sprang to mind)

The shuttle transfer service into Sorrento was very convenient and meant that the location outside the main part of town was not much of an issue at all.

Review 77：-the whole hotel is outdated.. I guess it was top notch once but now it like going back 20-30 years. Except the old style you can tell they havent done more repair then necessary. Our shower was horrible, rusty screws and really terrible over all. The food by the pool was horrible, we stayed in for one lunch and ordered Spaghetti bolognese and Carbonara and it was seriously the worst carbonara with no taste and old taste of egg yolk (and im Italian), the bolognese was tasteless aswell but was eatable. Se had some drinks during the night, Old Fashion which I couldnt drink and one Bellini which was ok. We had a sandwich which came in on hamburger bread that was dry and the cheese was sweaty.. In lack of other foods (it was 5pm and that was the only option) we ate half. Other things was that they only had water melon to choose from their "fresh fruits" and "fruit salads".. As a finishing! Dont go to Sorrento, go to Positano if you want more style and class.. Much better hotels and restaurant and not as much tourists!

This is actually is a tourist groups hub. Internet is also lousy, not available in the room. Definitely not Grand nor 5 star hotel. If you ever stayed in 5 star hotel this is Not for you!

Review 87：It's a little awkward that such a beautiful hotel is situated in a middle class neighborhood. A 15 min. walk to the main street is not that bad, plus another 15-20 min to Taso square. You must stick with the shuttle bus that was right on the dot most of times - don't miss it. The bed was a little harsh.

Overall, you could have very good time. The price was much lower than you would pay in any other 5-star hotel. Recommended restaurant - Inn Bufalito at Vico Fuoro, 21. There is no need to rent a car in Sorrento. Rent, gas, Parking are quite costly compare to bus cost. The traffic is "normal Neapolitan" :). Take a train (15min to station) to Pompeii. Good bus service to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello. Recommend red tourist bus with an audio guide 8euros first leg, 4 euros thereafter during one day. These buses are much comfortable especially during the rush hours when blue SITA buses are full.
