Select Braemar Lodge & Spa is a luxurious 5-star lodge nestled in the foothills of the Southern Alps, close to the village of Hanmer Springs.
All suites include an open-plan sleeping and living area with LCD TV, gas fire and super-king beds. Guests can pamper themselves in the marble bathroom with double spa bathtub and double shower. All suites have a private balcony, many with a hot tub.

Review 11：The comfort and size of the room and bathroom, the location, view and food were very good. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. Cleanliness was excellent (apart from the spa bath which the resort may not have known about).

Review 12：We had a spa bath that night but there were no extra towels for a shower in the morning. Spa nozels were set so water went over the wall and same with the shower nozels. The road up there was full of potholes and the road could have been graded.

Review 19：Spa treatment I got was disgraceful. I got what was ment to be relaxing massage instead I got most horrible and painful massage ever that left me in pain for next few days. Massage therapist was extremely rough all around. Also I didn't like that I couldn't bring my little dog who is bichon breed which is non allergic and doesn't shed fur and is very well trained. I rang and explained all that to hotel staff. Considering that the place is surrounded by nature we would have enjoyed our walks. Also rooms are in need of updating new paint job ( there were some really bad repairs) and new carpet

Review 35：The only thing we didn't like was the spa. We had a couples massage and felt like we were on a conveyor belt. Staff were unwelcoming and my masseuse didn't listen to me - she was far too firm, despite my telling her numerous times. Not relaxing. We weren't offered robes to go from the massage room to the showers and had to walk out wrapped in our towels (couldn't get dressed as we were covered in oil!) And we had to use the same towels we had for our massage. A cold and unwelcoming experience after what had been a superb stay

Review 48：A two night stay in deteriorating weather meant we mainly stayed in the extremely comfortable complex for a 'chilled out' break. Very attentive staff, great attention to detail, in a beautiful location just a few minutes from Hanmer Springs. Good to engage in personal interaction with the owner who seemed genuinely interested in our welfare and comfort. Review 56：Our host was so pedantic about arranging a time we could have our evening meal (between 8 and 8.15pm)as the kitchen was quite busy that evening, we can understand this. We were also given the option of room service which suited my husband as he wanted to watch the rugby but when the meal had still not arrived at 9 o'clock I rang to find out what had happened. Well the meal arrived promptly ater this and I suspect had been sitting ready for quite some time. We found the food mediocre and lukewarm, not fresh and inviting at all. Also we were supposed to have received an antipasto plater and bubbles (a gift from our employer who was paying for the night) on arrival and although these were on our bill we never got them. I rang and presume these were credited to his card.

We had a small baby with us there was mention of babysitting service on the website but was never offered anything when we arrived ! We don't earn a lot of money this was a once off kind of thing I paid 517 for a room ! I expected it to be clean and a lot better service ! all up we paid $517 for room and $188 for dinner and two drinks wasn't at all worth it .

Review 125：For me to use the wifi I had to stand outside, when I booked this hotel it said breakfast included, and it said breakfast finishes at 10:30am we rang up earlier and they said it was closed, so we left hungry, the place was tidy and clean however when I woke up and my mum did we end up itchy and had itchy stops all over our legs, so that wasn't preasant, and my mum and me wanted to watch a movie and you didn't have enough DVDs which is disappointing

Review 127：The 3 km,s of dust to get there. Place deserves better. Wine sold far beyond what we well world travelled pair would call reasonable. Wine on list at beyond $60.00 (St Clair Sav) I had some in my car which cost $10.50. 2 to 3 times retail would be enough.
