Reviews for Hotel Empire
Review 1:No ironing equipment.
Review 2:Convenient location opposite train station. Close to facilities, and transport (airport bus stops right outside). Bright room. Good wi-fi signal. Efficient staff.
Review 3:Not anything really.
Review 4:Excellent location for business travellers who need moderately priced hotel. Self-service breakfast with good choice of food and drinks for every taste. Helpful staff at the reception.
Review 5:A little bit expensive for a 3-star hotel. But the cost of living in Luxembourg is one of the highest in the world. It is not easy to find cheaper hotels in this city. Few amenities in the room: no fridge and no alarm clock.
Review 6:Location, breakfast, wi-fi and friendly staff. Room is not very small, when compared to 3-star hotels in other European countries. The computer in the lobby is not out of order!!
Review 7:Among all the hotels which we booked, Hotel Empire was the only one which confirmed our request (a king side bed instead of 2 single beds). We were surprised and looking forward for the stay. But when we arrived, it turned out to be 2 single beds. We asked for it and the lady from the front desk gave us another key, and it was still 2 single beds. We went back again and asked for it and got a third key with 1 king size bed but a rather small room. We were disappointed by the process.
Review 8:The hotel locates right in front of the train station, which is super convenient. On the morning when we checked out, we missed the time for breakfast, but the front desk was super nice to run upstairs and asked if there's still something to eat. The gentleman was very nice, and we were very thankful. The dining room welcomed us though we were already late. They kindly offer us 30 minutes for dining. The lady from the dining room was super friendly as well. It was a pleasant day.
Review 9:Bathroom in my room was so tiny, may be 2 ft X 2 ft. I am not huge guy but still it was tiny for me. Those walls of my rooms were so sound friendly that I could hear man coughing in next room.
Review 10:Just opposite Luxembourg Gare , which is very convenient for people travelling by train. You can walk to all main attractions, less than 2 km away. Good breakfast, good wi-fi, nice bed. Staff was nice.
Review 11:No negatives. I would imagine our room facing the station might be noisy if the window was open but in December we had it closed!
Review 12:The room was clean and there was an excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room. Although the room was small it had everything we needed and we felt it offered value for money. A good location for the station and airport bus but a 20 minute walk to the Old Town. Having arrived on an early flight we were able to leave our bags in a locker and were given room access at 12.
Review 13:Not many international channels on TV. Bad pillow.
Review 14:Location, just next to train station. Clean and fine. I would come again. Descent Internet connection.
Review 15:I tried to think of something negative, and failed!
Review 16:The hotel location is absolutely ideal, being directly opposite the railway station. Breakfast is good, and the room was huge! The staff are aleways friendly and helpful.
Review 17:It was small overpriced hotel. If i knew the city better, i would have picked something else, but since i hardly knew the area of Luxembourg, i had to pick this hotel. I paid a lot for nothing really.
Review 18:It was close to the station... As i needed to travel back to Belgium, it was not too bad for me staying close to train station
Review 19:As room in front of hotel the window could not be left open because of noise and curtains not good enough to keep out the flashing Christmas lights. Luckily these were turned off at 1am
Review 20:Comfortable, good breakfast, central
Review 21:We got there on a Saturday morning (10 am) and check-in was around 2 pm. However, the staff were so friendly and understanding and gave us already the room. Even more, when booking I asked for a nice and quiet upper storey room as it was my birthday weekend. And so they booked for us a superior room instead of the double classic one. Amazing and great comfort for the same price. They were generous and welcoming! The breakfast buffet is also nice and location likewise, 10 minutes walk to the city centre. I totally recommend the stay at this hotel!
Review 22:The furniture in the rooms is quite old, there is a little bit of a smell in the rooms and in the elevator. Breakfast is OK but nothing fancy. OK value for your money.
Review 23:Location is great, right across from the train station
Review 24:Road noise could be an issue in some rooms with the windows open but not in the room i stayed in.
Review 25:well equipped modern room, with a decent breakfast and in a great location. For the price this was one of the best hotels i have stayed in Luxembourg. I highly recommend it for business travelers.
Review 26:This is not a nice area, lots of strip clubs and dodgy people around this area. the main street is ok, but I wouldnt walk on back street alone.
Review 27:Very close to buses and train station
Review 28:The fact that hotel is located right at the centre of the town, in front of the train station, traffic is busy throughout all the hours of day and during the night might be annoying.
Review 29:Breakfast was good and offered a variety of items from English Breakfast to Continental one. Superb.
Review 30:The room was uncomfortable. No kettle provided in the room even I asked for that. The receptor said some room had borrowed. The internet signal was poor. It's very expensive.
Review 31:good location just right the train station
Review 32:The shower was a little small, but that's very minor.
Review 33:The hotel is directly across from Gare de Luxembourg and bus station where you can catch the bus to the airport. It's about 15 mins walk to the city centre (old town) There was a lovely breakfast available from 7am, there is a gluten free option available. Very soft and comfy bed. High level view from room across to the station
Review 34:We loved the curved windows in our room, but it does decrease the size of the room. View was wonderful though.
Review 35:The location of this hotel is excellent, right across from the train station. Also , the breakfast was the best on our trip!
Review 36:I have no negative comments.
Review 37:Excellent location, just opposite of the train station. The standard of breakfast served was satisfying and the staff members were very polite. I would stay here again.
Review 38:Only a single night stay but loved how accomodating they were considering I had to leave early at 5.30am. They prepared me a bag of breakfast to take with me.
Review 39:The man at the desk was SURLY!!! Yikes! I had to wait for my niece in the lobby and it got uncomfortable to I went back upstairs. The location was a minus for us just because we like to be in the older part of town but if you want to be by the train station it's perfect. It's still not that far from the older parts - just a bit of a walk.
Review 40:The Hotel Empire was right across from the train station - in general a good location but we tend to like to be near the old part of town so if you want that you'd have to walk quite a way to get there. In all the hotel was awesome. The rooms were neat and clean and surprisingly quiet since they were right on a major boulevard. Breakfast was nice too. We liked our stay there.
Review 41:my first choise hen I go to Luxembourg. the hotel is really nice even if it is not a luxury hotel. is really close to the central station which is the best place if you have a meeting and you want to move with public transport.
Review 42:Breakfast was such a pleasant surprise walking into that brilliantly sunny room with musical instruments lovely staff and no breakfast food missing.............overlooking the bustling hustling train station
Review 43:Friendly and helpful man at reception. Location across from the train station was perfect for us. Room was basic and adequate for our needs, AND it was clean.
Review 44:Pillows uncomfortable, European and a bit hard.
Review 45:Location good for us near train station. Room as expected. Room not overly large and shower small (but water pressure and temp great) But this is as expected for the price range.
Review 46:Would have been handy to have tea and coffee making facilities!
Review 47:Location was great - across the road from the train station and easy walking distance to the historical parts of the city.
Review 48:Wished that the Empire had been located elsewhere although closeness to railway station handy.
Review 49:Room was fabulous -clean and comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was adequate. Toilet and shower modern and worked well. I loved this room and loved coming back to it each day.
Review 50:Small room. Bike storage is not in the same building.
Review 51:Good location opposite of the train station. Nice breakfast room on the first floor with lots of windows.
Review 52:quality if WIFI was average, conditioning was not turned on so we had to open windows so noise of the train station from 6AM was very disturbing
Review 53:The room was clean and breakfast was good
Review 54:The shower was so small if you dropped the soap you couldn't pick it up. I kept bumping the control and changing the water temperature and pressure
Review 55:Staff was honest and helpful.
Review 56:Breakfast was ok, but not impressive.
Review 57:Located right by the train station, providing easy access to public transport, restaurants, etc. Free WIFI in room was stable and relatively fast.
Review 58:Breakfast was surprisingly weak / bad. They could much better than just cornflakes and some prepackaged cheese and bread. So don't get breakfast. There are some bakeries around just next to the hotel. Overall cleanliness was OK, except for the bathroom. There was mold allover the bathroom floor since there is no curtain on the shower, so the bathroom floor gets all wet and doesn't really get dry. I was a bit grossed out by that.
Review 59:Just opposite of the Gare, convenient for train and airport shuttle. Supermarkets and restaurants are easy to access. Room was nice.
Review 60:Great location by train station which we used a lot to visit Dtr in differdange. We were not in room much so small room was fine. Clean and breakfast was excellent
Review 61:Try to avoid Rue Joseph Junck (a street nearby), but you should be fine anywhere else (I wandered other streets nearby at 2A.M. with no problem at all)
Review 62:Staff is very friendly and helpful. Every receptionist speaks english. My room was very clean and comfortable. 10min-walk away from city centre. I stayed for 12 days and I am 100% satisfied!
Review 63:Windows in my apartment were looking right to the central rail station and it was extremely noisy. Some drunk guys were singing songs till the 4 or 5 in the night. Which is not quite good for a sleep :)
Review 64:Breakfast is pretty good, nice clean room.
Review 65:room was not ready and clean. had few bottles (coke) and paper bag on floor, sheet was stained and bedding seemed it had not been changed. no hairdryer in the room.
Review 66:receptionists are very kind and helpful
Review 67:Too expensive for what is offering
Review 68:the location is really good, just across the train station, which gives you access to main lines of public transportation
Review 69:No air conditioning
Review 70:Really good value and location is very convenient. Very pleasantly surprised by the breakfast which was particularly fresh and a good selection. Staff were all lovely. Would recommend for those looking for somewhere cheap and accessible.
Review 71:Noisy from the road outside the hotel - traffic all night. Had to sleep with window closed.
Review 72:Lovely staff - friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic - straight across the road from the train station and 10 minute easy walk into the old town. Location close to station was perfect as I took day trips out of Luxembourg City. Breakfast was good and included some hot food as well. Rooms were comfortable.
Review 73:The weakest point was the services of the Luxembourg tourist services...Great advertising and promotion... But hopeless personnel...and, whenyou buy the luxembourg card... Noone ever has the complete list of stuffyou are supposedd to get reductions on...
Review 74:Everything... Being directly across from the railroad station.. It wasperfect for tr4afelling on buses and trains....I Know that a lot ofpeople are wary of areas around main stations..but there is a 4 starMecure right next door.. Cnarging top dollar..! The main road in frontof the hotel is clean and well policed... It is clear that theLuxembourg police don't put up with the nonsense that some of theirneighbors do..
Review 75:The hotel is located opposite the railway station. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was small but comfortable and well furnished. The buffet style breakfast was excellent. I'd definitely spend more time in this hotel and recommend it as a place to stay in Luxembourg.
Review 76:The en-suite was smelly and the tv only had one English channel with a weak signal problem.
Review 77:Response to complaint was excellent and the alternative room was a great improvement.
Review 78:Light sleepers should consider that hotel is next to the road.As well I missed English channels on tv.How come that there is Russian channels, but not English?!
Review 79:Perfect location, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. There even was fresh fruits!
Review 80:No door / screen on shower, meant bathroom was wet when finished.
Review 81:Included breakfast was great. Room was tidy and big opening windows were great. Across road from main train station.
Review 82:Quite noise place - stations, flights. Located not far from city centre 20 min by walk, but sometimes feeling less safe in the street in this part of town.
Review 83:Nice and really helpfulll hotel staff. Hotel opposite Main railway and bus stations - easy accessable from everywhere.
Review 84:The pillows were very flat! But the bed was comfortable! There was no toiet paper or towels but the lady in reception was lovely and helped us out.
Review 85:Nice room and good wifi.
Review 86:The location is very closed to train station. And the price is good as it is included breakfast. We arrived at 11:30am and we can have early check in, the staff is really helpful
Review 87:The room was second floor facing main street, so it was noisy. As it was hot days, windows had to be opened. Other time of year it should be okey.
Review 88:Convenient location, breakfast.
Review 89:maybe a little too expensive, but you get what you pay.
Review 90:The location is super good, pretty near to the central station. But it needs to take 15-20 minutes to old town by foot. The room is really comfortable and clean. The staff is nice and helpful. The breakfast is super awesome and delicious.
Review 91:No air con, room hot so left window open! Bad idea! Too much traffic and noise on the street below window!
Review 92:The breakfast. Very fresh and delicious. Staff very nice and helpful.
Review 93:There was quite a lot of street noise but didn't disturb us too much as kept windows shut and fan helped muffle noise
Review 94:Super location for station and hop on bus . Great for walking into the city
Review 95:No private car parking, so was worried about car parked on street. It was also very hot, with no air conditioning.
Review 96:Very clean, wifi worked really well, breakfast was good. Great location next to station with only a short walk to city centre.
Review 97:Right across the street from the train station. Easy walking distance to the main shopping district. Great WiFi. Great breakfast. Large room with a comfortable bed.
Review 98:Very noisy with the windows open - which was necessary given the summer heat and lack of air con (leaving the windmill sized fan on while trying to sleep was worse).
Review 99:The best thing about my visit was the delightful and helpful Nicole on reception. She is a great communicator, cheerful and very efficient at her job. Give her a pay rise!
Review 100:There isn't aircondition. It is very bad, especially in hot summer. The location is just in front of Central train station and near the main bus stop. It was impossible to open window.
Review 101:I was like Cleanliness, Comfort of bed, quick Free WiFi. Also the Staff was very friendly.
Review 102:very close to buses for airport and down town was a lovly walk away. the staff could not have been more helpful as we needed to attend a hospital while in Luxembourg and the hotel staff were a fantastic help
Review 103:Breakfast options were not so excellent. But manageable.
Review 104:Location was excellent. Also, Luxembourg city is small enough to be walked around. This location is a good starting point.
Review 105:No air conditioner meant the windows had to be left open, and the road noise was excessive.
Review 106:Clean room. Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Surprisingly good breakfast, far beyond what is normally found at this pricepoint.
Review 107:Because I had such an early train the next morning, I wanted to stay near to the station, and this hotel is right across the street. It was modern and comfortable, and they even packaged my breakfast for me to take since I had to leave before 7am. I did go to La Place d'Armes, and it was very easy to use public transportation to return to the hotel that night.
Review 108:all good.
Review 109:Location was excellent, staff dedication, cheerfulness and vitality was amazing especially Nicole at the front desk who was simply amazing. The breakfast and the ldy incharge fot it was fantastic. Tremendous value for money.
Review 110:Breakfast could be a bit more varied; also, would be nice to have the offered drinks chilled as well. Air conditioning in the room is missing - not nice when there are 37°C outside. Also, a door or shower curtain to avoid the bathroom floor becoming a puddle with every shower.
Review 111:Awesome location just across the central train station. As I traveled for the Rock-a-Field fedtival, this was ideal as I arrived back at night, by train. Old city centre is within walking distance. Awesomely nice staff! Wifi signal very good in room.
Review 112:Too hot in the room (fortunately, a fan was provided which worked fine). Noisy surroundings, direct at the train station, but if you keep the windows closed, no problem.
Review 113:Central position, good breakfast (with excellent home-made nut cake!), polite staff, easy check-in and check-out.
Review 114:Extremely expensive for its category. Small room with large bed, almost no space to move or to place large suitcase. Impossible for two persons above size M. Shower cabin with kids size. The single person staff (didn't see more) at the reception quite friendly. This hotel is suitable as last resort for 1-2 nights only.
Review 115:Absolute close vicinity (50 m) right across the street from Luxembourg central station
Review 116:The third bed is a bit too soft in the centre.
Review 117:Helpful & friendly staff. After a day out, the bus almost stops in front of the hotel and can go back to the hotel within a blink! Sooo good!!!
Review 118:Breakfast was not clear as we would have liked hot food didn't no till last morning that we could have got same probably language barrier but we got over it
Review 119:We asked for another bed in room there was no problem with that.droped from airport bus no 16 right outside hotel
Review 120:No proper luggage storage. The reception accepted our request to store luggage there after checkout. But the luggages were left at a corner of the hall - appreciate their help but I dont feel safe. Was lucky nothing happen to our luggage.
Review 121:Location. Breakfast.
Review 122:Hotel is positioned at a very loudly noisy thoroughfare, making continuous sleep impossible.
Review 123:Nicole was an amiably friendly receptionist who had the effect of cheering up a tired visitor. The hotel's offer of free wifi is welcome. Good too is its location just opposite the train station.
Review 124:Area can be busy at night due to nightlife
Review 125:Spacious rooms with neat bathrooms (bathroom furniture varies per room, we had two rooms with different looking batherooms) Beds were comfortable, fluffy pillows. A few hidden gems in the vicinity: restarant Mama Loves You (Rue de Hollerich) and a cocktailbar across from mentioned restaurant. Both had super friendly and thoughtfull personnel.
Review 126:Next street from hotel wasa bit dodgy a lot of night clubs. So not really great over weekend when you want peaceful night sleep.
Review 127:Really good facilities. Comfortable stay. Quite close to city centre (15-20 min walk)
Review 128:For me the pillow was to soft and there are no vegetables during breakfast.
Review 129:The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, the hotel is close to the city center.
Review 130:hair dryer didnt working… and this hotel pre charged me for the stay even before I check in! Normally, on booking, guest pays cash or card upon arrival. But they've charged prior to that, which is unexpected. And when I check out, they've valid the reservation before I intended to pay cash in euros, which also not quite right as I expected to pay by cash, not an overseas credit card instead. This wasn't impress at all. Language barrier is a problem too
Review 131:fantastic location, right opposite to the central station, 2 mins walk… easy to get around in city…
Review 132:There were no vegetables at the breakfast. Though, I am not a vegeterian but I like to have some with my breakfast.
Review 133:The room was clean, staff very helpful. The hotel is righ in front of the train station. It is 15 mintues walk from the city center.
Review 134:Location, staff and breakfast were fantastic. Walked directly across the street from the train station to the hotel. Busses and shuttles were right outside.
Review 135:-No luggage storage place of you want to get out before leaving, it is basically stored in the lobby: not so safe. -Hardly seen a smile on the staff. -Only the Vapiano was next doors, nothing much to eat.
Review 136:-Wifi signal was good. -The room was clean. -Close to train station. -Vapiano next door.
Review 137:Bathroom could use some fixes
Review 138:The service is awesome, male receptionist help us with Luxembourg cards and other things. Location superb, very convenient and close to Hbf
