Reviews for Hotel Capo D'Uomo

Review 1:This hotel is a destination in itself. The views are absolutely incredible and the sound of the water hitting the rocks lulls you to sleep. We spent a peaceful evening here between visiting the bustling cities of Florence and Rome. Fun short walk to the fort, into town, and down to the marina. Staff was pleasant, efficient, and helpful.

Review 2:We had a great feeling of inner contentment with both the hotel and the village. Stayed in the cheapest sea view room which, though small and strangely shaped, worked very well. Delightful views, gardens and swimming in clear water.

Review 3:I wish they could have trimmed the vegetation directly in front of our balcony to improve the view.

Review 4:The view of the water, the access to the sea, the various places on the property to relax and get a view and the breakfast was good.

Review 5:Breathtaking location, scenery and a staff that couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Restaurants were within a five minute walk, the village and marina were so picturesque it was being transported to a storybook!

Review 6:Bedroom a little on the small side and WiFi not reliable.

Review 7:Great position and amazing view with excellent grounds surrounding.Attentive and friendly staff.

Review 8:Very small bathroom, shower and toilet "all in one". Too hard matress/pillow for my preference.

Review 9:The gardens, the view from our room/balcony, very forthcoming and nice staff. Lovely atmosphere in general.

Review 10:We loved how secluded this place was. The cleanliness, staff, location, views, and grounds were all an excellent plus. We were pleasantly surprised with our stay. Our one regret was that we didn't have more time to spend there.

Review 11:I had a suite, but the sleeping room had no window. This should be clarified in the web site. I found that the price was very high for this type of room (three star hotel).

Review 12:The location of the hotel is impressive, beautiful sea and possibility of swimming (but no beach, only rocks).

Review 13:Everything about this placed, I loved! The hotel lived up to the Internet pictures, and then some! I could spend hours on my balcony or laying in bed reading or napping with the doors wide open listening to the waves crash on the rocks below. Swimming off the rocks was delightful and exciting. I highly recommend eating at Il Vicoletto, cooked by the charismatic Chef Antonio. Diego at the front desk was very helpful with local information. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Review 14:The rooms were very small but reasonable.

Review 15:Fantastic view overlooking the sea with lovely balcony - especially beautiful at sunset. Very clean, located on a cliff with a view of the castle. Great price for a hotel like this. Nice breakfast.

Review 16:no WiFi in the room

Review 17:calm location, great view on sea and isles just a few stairs to the sea even with no restaurant in hotel, only a few steps to town center

Review 18:Friendly personal, good breakfast, good car parking for your car. Our room was very, very small, bathroom was very small and narrow, but view from our balcony (sea view) was exelent and amazing! Hotel is situated at nice place. Some steps down is small nice beach (public beach). If you have room with sea view, the view from the window will be exelent.

Review 19:Rooms were smaller than average but it didn't detract from the overall experience

Review 20:Fantastic location with it's own private section of beach and great staff who went above and beyond to help. The rooms were small but well thought out to maximise on space and all came with a fantastic panoramic view of the sea

Review 21:Essential to wear shoes when bathing in the sea below the hotel to avoid wounding feet on rocks and sea urchins.

Review 22:Stunning location Spacious family room with own terrace Breakfast buffet was good quality and varied.

Review 23:1st night in a room without direct sea view or balcony, this room was very sub-standard, felt more like a prison

Review 24:Nice building, nice views (once we got the sea-view room), friendly staff

Review 25:The rock area with chaises, umbrellas and a café down the cliff from the hotel is very popular in summer, so it is a bit full and hectic. Getting in and out of the sea onto the stone steps could be difficult for older people.

Review 26:The architecture and the landscaping are beautifully designed and maintained. The round hotel building allows views of the Mediterranean Sea in all directions. I enjoyed having the delicious breakfast on the lawn and lying on deck chairs on the terraces. There is good access down the cliff to the rocks where you can go swimming. The reception desk and the cleaning staff were welcoming and friendly. It is a delightful place, and you can walk right into the picturesque town center (of Talamone) for dinners.

Review 27:No wifi in the rooms.

Review 28:The location was fabulous and views incredible. Access to the beach great. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Rooms although not large were comfortable.

Review 29:Ridiculously small "twin"bedroom with no view of the sea as sold;looking directly out of the french windowwas a hedge and "our garden",a strip of grass which wasn't private...all at a nightly cost of 140 euros. The bathroom was tiny.

Review 30:Views of sea outside the hotel After the first night once we had complained for a second time they moved us to a room with a double bed and then upgraded us to a suite for the last night which cost 170 euros

Review 31:The room was tiny, two cockroaches crawled across the floor when I first arrived, and the staff were not bothered about this. The bathroom was so small it was possible to sit on the toilet and have a shower.

Review 32:Location

Review 33:Wifi is terrible due to the old, thick walls (I didn't mind as there is the OCEAN - who needs internet?!?)

Review 34:The view of the ocean from our terrace! The room was clean and well furnished which was nice. The reception was kind and welcome. Parking was free and convenient. I wish would could have stayed many more nights!

Review 35:This is a beautiful interlude to the busy cities and typical tourist stops. Quiet and low key. I hesitate to review because I would hate to spoil the charm. But at the same time I want to thank them for their careful upgrade to their hotel and making it a hidden gem.

Review 36:Location is amazing and the staff was very helpful. Talamone Italy is a great place to visit and Capo D'Uomo is the perfect place to stay.

Review 37:Superb ambience and location

Review 38:Fantastic location, views and staff. Room is just small and not budget pricing.

Review 39:Super location and lovely staff.

Review 40:room too close to the reception bar all the noise from that area where in our room

Review 41:location fantastic

Review 42:best breakfast ever

Review 43:POSITION

Review 44:Unbelievable view from the room and balcony! Good breakfast.

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:Beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. Helpful staff.

Review 47:Small bedroom, mosquitos.

Review 48:Great place, staff and location. I would definitely come back.

Review 49:Wifi could be improved and provision of beach towels

Review 50:Fabulous swimming, very good breakfast choices, lovely hotel gardens

Review 51:Away from anything, poor wifi connection

Review 52:Great views, relaxing

Review 53:the room was a little bit small

Review 54:the view, the atmosphere

Review 55:abit to expensive.. (200E for one nice but very simple double room and one night)...

Review 56:the hotel and locatio was great.

Review 57:Room was a bit small

Review 58:Great location, clean, efficient and comfortable - view from room terrific, and proximity to village great

Review 59:Loved the views of the sea. The town of Talamone is an easy walk and very cute. They have a lot of good restaurants in town.

Review 60:The rooms are too tight and they are expensive for the size etc

Review 61:The gardens and salon

Review 62:Views Grounds

Review 63:Room was dirty, old, many light fixtures didn't work.

Review 64:Beautiful view and great location.

Review 65:Small bedroom,bed and bathroom

Review 66:Location,view,garden and nearby areas to visit, breakfast.

Review 67:Hard to come up with something.

Review 68:The location was incredibly beautiful and in mid-June not too crowded. Perfect accomodations for family of 4.When we moved on to Florence, we missed Talamone and Capo D'Uomo. We wished we had a longer stay!

Review 69:Hotel by the ocean with a view Caring staff Very clean and welltaken care ofBest of all was the warm reception and welcome on the evening when we arrived at about MIDNIGHT. Even a glass of scotch!!! Thank-you Hotel Capo D'Uomo

Review 70:Cramped rooms Wifi not working when we were there

Review 71:Beautiful view, excellent breakfast, well kept spacious grounds and large free car park. Excellent value for money

Review 72:Make certain you have set up transportation into and out of Talamone ahead of time. Ivano provides local "taxi" service for the hotel. Just a few restaurants to choose from, but adequate.

Review 73:Top-notch state-of-the-art contemporary room with terrace. Romantic. Beautiful cliffside location adjacent to small fishing village. Ideal location for a quiet get-away far from large city noise and commercialism. Relaxing grounds with lush vegetation. Seaside swimming area below, served by cabana bar. Multiple vistas include sunrise and sunset, and a Sienese fort. Great breakfast inside, or out on lawn, and the cappuccinos keep coming. Lots of hiking options. Loretta and Diego will do ANYTHING to enhance your experience.

Review 74:The breakfast area doubled as the evening lounge/bar and as such, seating was a relaxed style and not necessarily comfortable for having a light meal. Not a big deal though!

Review 75:The cliffside location is spectacular! Rooms are typically Euro sized but well appointed. All rooms had a full or partial view of the ocean. The terraced lawns and patio areas take the guest right to the beach below. Breakfasts were nicely laid out.

Review 76:The hotel only offered a separate bed room even and the receptionist sawwe were a couple, and when my fiancee asked to change she refused withthe classical excuse that the hotel was 100% full, but did not looklike....the room is very small and very close to the neighbors where wecould hear everything that was going on with ours neighbors...who islooking for rest I do not recommend this hotel. Foreign must bringelectric adaptor to use your things. The hotel did not have any, and Ithink this is a "must have" in any hotel, especially this citywhere is very small and do not have any shop to buy.

Review 77:The view of the room is very beautiful and the room was very clean.Breakfast good

Review 78:The price is too high for the services that are offered (primarily breakfast and a nice location). We payed the same room rate in the same period for a four star hotel in a nice location in Tuscany with swimming pool, gym and restaurant.

Review 79:The hotel is in a perfect location, in the center of Talamone and on a rock above the sea. It has a very nice romantic view. The rooms are very essential, pretty small but very clean. The access to the sea is assured by two steep but accessible stairs. The breakfast is very rich and very tasty. The judgment is overall positive.

Review 80:- rooms could be better sound-insulated - the beach is private, so hotel customers can go down the stairs and swim but if they want to stay on the beach they have to pay 20 Euros - it's not too bad to climb back to the grass area in the hotel, but still.

Review 81:- great location - nice rooms - great breakfast - quick access to the beach

Review 82:beds could have been a bit bigger and a bit softer.

Review 83:loved the location so quiet and relaxing, view was amazing, staff excellent especially Diego, english speaking staff made it so much more pleasureable.

Review 84:Very small room and shower cramped.

Review 85:Lovely location, friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast outside in well kept garden. Amazing views from balcony.

Review 86:no pool, dated furnishing, limited services. no atmosphere, above a nightclub with no sound insulation

Review 88:Mosquitoes at night ; bring repellant!

Review 89:Beautiful views. Private balcony facing the sea.

Review 93:We were in a room overlooking the sea on three sides the view was amazing.

Review 94:Pretty small room, WiFi out of order for all 3 days.

Review 95:Wonderful location and magnificent view from the room. Excellent staff.

Review 96:Very small rooms. Wifi not working when we were there
