Reviews for Hotel Coen Delft

Review 1:Bed position in the room - there is an angled wall near the bed, so I frequently hit it with elbow whenever I move my hands. No central switch for light - room has 4 lights with separate switches. It's not convenient to turn all on or off. Also even with all lights on it is still slightly dark for reading. Sink in bathroom is too narrow considering the shelf above it - when you wash your face you either hit the shelf or you spill water out of the sink (exaggerating). For reference: room 47, 3rd floor.

Review 2:Friendly staff, great location (close to Delft Central station and city center), good price, cozy environment. You can arrive to hotel even after check in hours if you contact the staff.

Review 3:The breakfast is not bad, but with just a few additions can become much better.

Review 4:The location is perfect. The toilet and the bathroom are very clean. The Wi-Fi works fine.

Review 5:A small but still comfortable hotel (the bathroom was one of the smallest I have seen but still ergonomical!), very helpful staff, nice stylish blue ceramic decorations everywhere.

Review 6:- The single room is a bit too small - Noise due to station's renovations

Review 7:- Great location (close to the station and the city centre) - Staff is really friendly and welcoming

Review 8:There was some machine noise that was there all the time. I could not find out where it came from. The water in the shower was sparse and not very hot. Currently, there is a huge construction site around the hotel.

Review 9:I had a single room; the room is very small and dark and not that excitingly looking. Most importantly, the bed was just about my size in length, narrow as expected, but far too soft and just under the inclined ceiling formed by the staircase on the other side...so it was possible to sit in the bed and easy to bang your head at night!

Review 10:Good location

Review 11:wifi connection in the room was very weak, often absent. I asked different times to the staff but the problem was not solved.

Review 12:near the station, near the center

Review 13:On neither of the two mornings were the breakfast items replenished in a timely fashion, and then only when we specifically asked. A large (though temporary) building site makes access to the hotel more difficult than on previous visits.

Review 14:Good location near station and town. Traditional building with a bit of character.

Review 15:I wanted to pay up the night before check out as I was leaving early morning. So I paid at the counter. Next morning at the time of leaving I was told that I need to pay for one more night stay. We wasted time calculating all over again before paying for one night as the previous bill was not calculated properly.

Review 16:The location is excellent as it is close to train/bus/tram/taxi stations.

Review 17:Because it is right next to the station it is impacted by the tremendous noise of the building works that have been going on for years round there

Review 18:Very close to the station. Reception closes at 11 but when my flight was delayed and I emailed to say I'd be late, Reception stayed open until I arrived. Good value, small bedroom but worked well for me.

Review 19:Constructions going on right outside of my window woke me up early every day.

Review 20:Location close to the train station and to the city centre. Nice and helpfull staff, clean place.

Review 21:I found the price of 68 euro per night for a single room too high.

Review 22:The hotel was near the train station and close to the city centre. My room was small but comfortable.

Review 23:It is a little stuffy in the room on the front side of the hotel as the window cannot open totally. The wifi signal is weak on the third floor. The bed is very narrow. The price of the breakfast is quite expensive.

Review 24:It is more quiet on the back side of the building and the view is good. The wifi signal is strong on the first and second floor. The staff are quite friendly.

Review 25:No parking! Which is a big deal when you have children. For 10€ per person the breakfast was disappointing. Very narrow beds

Review 26:The hotel has a nice atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. It was very quiet too and we were able to walk into the town centre easily.

Review 27:Other than hearing a bit of noise from the room next door, no complaints at all.

Review 28:I loved the cute tiles in the bathroom and decor of the sitting room. My room was warm and cosy on a cold rainy day, and had everything I needed for a one night stay. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 29:No ticket office at Delft Central station- very inconvenient ifyou visit Delft for three-five days and don't have an ovicard. But it's not the coen hotel responsibility which leftonly warm memories.

Review 30:We liked nearness to the railway station & to the city centre, goodplain food at breakfasts, cordial attitude of the excellent personnel-Viola,Alexandra & Luben are really very hearty andprofessional.Rooms are spacious, enough comfortable veryclean.Accomodation here may be comfortable and for two and for sixdays.Taxi is also available just at the bottom of the hotel.

Review 31:The pillow was the main problem I encountered. It was huge and massive, while I prefer shallow and flexible pillows. I had to take the pillow out and fill the sleeve with my pull in order to get something acceptable.

Review 32:Clean hotel, near the centre of Delft for a good price. I spent one night and slept most of the time.

Review 33:Location is near the train station which was what I wanted, but getting there was difficult. With construction at the station one had to go up and down stairs to get to the hotel across the street. I had to have help with my bag. Didn't try the breakfast, but it seemed a bit expensive at 10 euros.

Review 34:Staff was helpful by carrying my bag up and down the stairs to the train station. Loved the bathroom. It even had a Delft pottery toilet!

Review 35:Nothing was wrong, really.

Review 36:The accomodation is remarkably well kept and cared for. It is a genuinely family-run business and the owner's hand is overall to be seen. A cosy, warm and yet functional hotel, which can be only commended for its characteristics.

Review 37:A nace room is on the backside of the building. on the frontside it is noisy. The boss can be grumpy, but his staff is very friendly. The hotel bar is empty. When you are sitting there you are alone.

Review 38:Friendly staff, I have got everything I need. I can imagine that the hotel chooses to be Delft Blue; for me I would prefer it differently. The furniture is old but functions.

Review 39:The bed was not very comfortable.

Review 40:The location of the hotel is very good, in front of the central stations, where you can rent bikes. And the WiFi was also very fast.

Review 41:WiFi in the room was practically not usable. On the ground floor around the reception it's OK

Review 42:Location is perfect - just one step from the Central railway station and bus station, within a walking distance from the main places of interest. Reasonable price.

Review 43:Location near the railway station and corresponding noise is okay, as you know that in advance, and sounds from outside are not too notable at all. But if you are there during the student holidays, expect loud disco under your windows. Though, they stop about 12 pm. If no holidays, there's no disco, it was so calm there on the 1st of September.

Review 44:Comfortable room, very good breakfast, good service. Big bathroom. Small things are very well-thought, for example, locations of plug sockets.

Review 45:The room was to cold at times. the position of the television was not ideal.

Review 46:bed was comfortable. The location was superb. The bathroom was ideal. The breakfast was good.

Review 47:The temperature: the room was too warm again! Impossible to sleep without the opened window, they really must do something about this. The wifi was not strong enough for my computer in third floor.

Review 48:The price, the proximity to the train station and the city centre

Review 49:Super comfortable.Spacious room.

Review 50:Good location, OK service...

Review 51:The reception was closed on Saturday morning, although I had mentioned that I would check out before 8 am. But they were okay

Review 52:Everything was great

Review 53:location and friendly and knowleagable staff

Review 54:The pillows and the bed are not very comfortable so I did not sleep well at all.

Review 55:The staff were helpful and the location is great.

Review 56:The rooms are very small.

Review 57:The staff was very friendly. The hotel is located very close to the train station making travel easy.

Review 58:Comfort, facilities, breakfast, bath room, location. In general I didn't like anything.

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Bad wifi in the room, my room looked a bit miserable although clean and tidy

Review 61:Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, not a bad location

Review 62:Very mall elevator.

Review 63:Nice lady at the desk, helpful with our bikes and a nice big room and bathroom.

Review 64:Location close to Delft Station and Delft City Center. Good value for money.

Review 65:Noisy works nearby

Review 66:Luxurious bathroom!

Review 67:I loved the location, behind the station, and close to the city center and TU delft.

Review 68:The price

Review 69:Free breakfast

Review 70:The staff is very kind and helpful. I will choose this hotel for my next stay in Delft.

Review 71:the wifi in my room at level 3 was poor, and frequently disconnected.

Review 72:Comfortable room

Review 73:No additional facilities

Review 74:Value for money, clean

Review 75:No bad experience.

Review 76:Basic facilities met my needs. Convenient to station and taxi-rank.

Review 77:The breakfast could be improved.

Review 78:Courtesy of the staff. Clean, quiet and nice room.It is close to the center

Review 79:Noisy rooms (thin walls)

Review 80:Good location, good value for money, decent breakfast, friendly staff

Review 81:the room is very small. The breakfast is not very special. The staff is very friendly.

Review 82:It is close to the centre. It was a special day.

Review 83:poor choices and quality of breakfast very narrow bathroom awfully high pillows

Review 84:cleanliness wifi included and ok

Review 85:Small and dark room

Review 86:Central

Review 87:- close to the station - I could see trains from my window ;) - good internet

Review 88:This hotel is located very close to the train station and thus, it is a noisy place to stay.

Review 89:Breakfast was good, everything was prepared with a good quality.

Review 90:WIFI connection was really bad. It was impossible to connect from the room.

Review 91:Location is good. Breakfast is OK.

Review 92:Noise Not so clean

Review 93:Location Wifi Spacious room

Review 94:A good night sleep in a quiet room in the neighborhood of the city centre.

Review 95:No air conditioning and a bit hot in summer.

Review 96:Convenient location for the train station.

Review 97:No AC

Review 98:location close to the train station (but not noisy) quiet hotel

Review 99:The staff was nice, the rooms ae clean and simple. Location is o.k

Review 100:Too close to the station and therefore, noisy at times as trains run throughout the day.

Review 101:Closeness to the city center and train station.

Review 102:None of the old world charm that one might expect in Delft.

Review 103:Modest, handy to the train, value for money, courteous staff

Review 104:-very convenient location right in front of the station

Review 105:Really good value. Staff very helpful & welcoming. Location so near to station even more of an advantage than I had expected. Construction work no problem as my room was at the back of the hotel.

Review 106:My phone gets poor reception, but I couldn't access the wifi unless I was in the breakfast room downstairs. Must be a very weak signal. My TV remote didn't seem to work, and some of the fixtures and wallpaper in the room looked a bit dingy. The bathroom and bed linens looked quite clean, though, which is more important.

Review 107:The hotel is literally across the street from the train station - it couldn't be more convenient for train travelers! My room was on the opposite side of the building, so train noise wasn't an issue. My room was comfortable and quiet, and I loved the clean, private bathroom with nice Delft blue touches on the tiles. Very nice! I found the staff to be generally helpful and friendly.

Review 108:Breakfast is expensive. A bit noisy (too close to the train station).

Review 109:Excellent location, near the train station and the city centre (easy walking distance of many sites of interest). The staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean.

Review 110:The hotel is a perfect choice to stay in if you want to see Delft and also visit the cities nearby: Rotterdam, the Hague, Scheveningen (the North sea), Madurodam, etc. It's located just opposite the train station and the city center of Delft is also quite close to the hotel. The staff was really very nice and they helped a lot in everything and were very friendly. I also liked tiles with "Delft blue" decorations in the bathroom.

Review 111:- thin walls

Review 112:- directly to the opposit of the train station (trains are not very noisy - even though my room was at street side, it was not loud) - within short walking distance to the city center (about 10-15 min) - staff was very nice - parking place for bikes is available

Review 113:Breakfast is a tidbit expensive, adding an additional 10 euro's a person to the stay. Though it is very complete; you won't get it cheaper anywhere in the city

Review 114:Location is great. Walking distance to 'everything'

Review 115:Stayed for two nights on 17-19 April 2014 in a single room for 140€ that were charged to my visa in advance and another 5€ (2.5 per day)city tax at the reception. The room has a single bed a small TV, closet and bathroom with toilet. The room was clean and the Wi-Fi signal worked well. The breakfast is not included and costs another 10€ and I decided to skip it and can advice on the quality of it. The location is perfect just outside the Delft train station and 15 min walking from the city center. Because the hotel is situated next to the train station there is some noise and movement throughout the night but I am a sound sleeper so this didn't bothered me at all. The reception is opened from 07:00 until 24:00 and you get a key to your room which also can unlock the hotel's front door. Would recommend it.

Review 116:I have no complaints. I knew what I chose for and my expectations were met. Whatever I did not score as "excellent" is not due to dissatisfaction or due to comparisons within the caterory and price range of the hotel, but only due to the points where improvement could be possible.

Review 117:As I was travelling for business, the location (across the bus and train stations) wa ideal for me. I was not even disturbed by noise, but then I rarely am. Within its category and price range, the hotel offers excellent services.

Review 118:Water in the shower wasn't hot enough.

Review 119:Great location opposite the station. Warm welcome on arrival, quick check-in, and friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Fair choice of channels on TV.

Review 120:There was noise of train station, which you would hear even with the window closed. Also sounds from other rooms were quite audible. The hotel itself is a bit old, breakfast only ok.

Review 121:Bathroom had good size and was moderns and clean, unlike the rest of the room.

Review 122:I asked for a quiet room and got one at the back of the hotel (away from the railroad). It was indeed totally quiet. Room was exactly right for a business travel.

Review 123:This comment falls into the like and dislike categories. I arrived late (midnight) and could not get in and by chance noticed a key was left for me but I had no email or message to let me know this. So it could have been missed. on the other hand I was grateful for being able to get in.

Review 124:I arrived late and could not get

Review 125:The lobby does not attend over the clock, so you need to have some care and combine an special arrangement if arriving or departing too early or too late.

Review 126:The location is very convenient, just in front of the train Station. The staff is nice and a bit informal. You feel like in the house of friends who welcome you. The internet worked very well.

Review 127:The breakfast could be better for its price. There is some noise from the trains but is tolerable if you stay there for a couple of days.

Review 128:It's next to the train station so once you get off the train you are immediately outside the hotel. It's five minutes from the city center. Perfect for a short stay during business trip.
