Review 1：Service, food, facilities...except location,nothing was great.

Review 2：So best thing about this place is the location , actually may be that's the only thing. Service is bad and food is not great either but its right on the beach and that too on a bful one. No phones in the room so every time you have to ask for something, you have to go to the reception and not even a water bottle is free.its a no frill hotel on a beach.

Review 3：Well, this property in good location.but who ever manage resort has to know more about hospitality.staff is not friendly.no proper billing method.it just by hand writing and I found they charge from me different price for my soft drinks.look like cheating. Saying no pets allowed there but there's dogs .

Review 5：Water was luke warm in the eve but i understand they have solar water heating system and i know it rained that day so this may be why. But the following day when it was sunny we have nice hot water. Swimming pool could do with more cleaning as it is outdoor some flies and insect were there in the pool but it was ok.

Review 6：we booked 2 triple rooms and rooms were big enough and it was clean and comfortable. All rooms in think have balcony and sea view which was great. I felt it was very good value as it included breakfast. Location is nice with beach right on the foot steps and they offer Ayurveda body massage for Rs - 2605 for 50 mins which was on ok. Breakfast was good, 2 eggs, toast, fruits or juice, tea or coffee. Overall i would say this is not a 2 star resort more like 3 star or 4 star. Staff very friendly and they have money exchange on site which offer every good rates. Infact the best i have come across.

Review 7：Wifi was not good, heavy rains caused our room to flood which wasn't entirely the hotels fault but it will keep on happening during the rainy season if they don't sort it out. We had to get up twice in night to put towels down and move our belongings.

Review 16：This hotel locates feets away from the beach. It's a very peaceful place, staff is very friendly....you have the freedom to use the beach, pool, garden, restaurant anytime you need. It feels like home...a great place ...we had tons of fun...

Review 17：Recent building works nearby (away from this hotel) has changed the shape and nature of the beach considerably, making it less appealing. (there was a layer of black sand over a large area of the beach, I am not sure if this is natural (I doubt) or pollution from the boats. There was classically 'Sri Lanka' poor attention to detail regarding the room, it was clean but only two of the many lights had a bulb in etc. I didn't like being asked to pay for my room on arrival, prior to even seeing the room! I found this extremely rude.

Review 18：Location was fair, nicely situated right at beach. Attached is a comprehensive dive school which I didn't use myself but was busy and popular. I was unable to change my booking via booking.com (despite the site telling me I could). Beware if you have changes of plan! Thanks to the owner I managed to eventually make arrangements which suited both of us.

Review 19：we just arrived from a long bus trip and they asked us to pay directly for the room to another counter, before even seeing the room! it gives a really bad first impression. the food we ordered was not so good.

Review 29：The Rooms could use a bit of modernization with regards to power outlets, lighting, bathrooms and amnesties like kettles, mini fridge and maybe bug repellent apparatus in rooms. Maybe the driver quarters could be improved some and The Sign on the main road should be made a bit bigger as we missed it twice as there was no proper lighting.

Review 84：The flipside of being in a quiet location is that you can't walk to the town and has a limited number of shops to hand. In reality you don't need to leave the resort as the restaurant is fine and they have a money exchange in house.

Review 97：Everything in strict order - I believe that is thanks to the owner, who is German. Good location, nice food at very attractive price (but nearly enormous portions :-)). Long clean beach, rather quiet ocean for swimming, enough desk-chairs both in the coconut palm shadow and right under the sun. No dancing and TV which I personally consider a great plus.

Review 98：Here are the three main reasons why we did not like our stay at theYpsylon Guesthouse: 1/ Location is ok but all buildings need seriouscleaning and renovation; seaview settings are fine without beingextraordinary. 2/ Food is not a great asset either. 3/ Attitudeof staff and management is far from being customer friendly; verydisappointing. It's all about money!The worst thing is that the owner mixes family life with business life. We had the pleasure to meet with one of the owner's kids. Into the diving pool and in the middle of our PADI lesson with our instructor, the owner's 41 years old son did not think about anything better than interrupting the course, making funny signals and finally showing us his butt before leaving. Such a great sense of humour! The owner did not think of presenting any apologies after we complained.
