Reviews for Jacaranda Guest House

Review 1:The hosts were a little weird and a bit 'in your face' some times. Mr even sat at our table and smoked whilst we were eating - uninvited too!

Review 2:Perfect location to town and promenade. Lots of fresh fruit at breakfast.

Review 3:Curtains needed at doors to rooms as the blinds don't give enough privacy. People can look in from outside and see through wide gaps into the room and bathroom (had to make sure bathroom door was shut when using). Had to reprimand my daughter when she said she could see next door neighbour on the toilet!!!

Review 4:Ann and Martin are a lovely couple. They made us feel welcomed and at home and were very helpful with their information about the area. The rooms were comfortable and clean with kettle to make your own hot chocolate tea or coffee.

Review 5:Single beds quite narrow and short.

Review 6:Location, b&b, staff friendly & helpful. has a restful feel and within walking distance to shops and eating places.

Review 7:Not bad experience but not up to the standard of the other guest house we have stayed at in Busselton - tidiness sloppy and no variation in breakfast

Review 8:Lovely gardens (but not cared for well), and location

Review 9:The husband did not have any communication skills. There was a lady leaving and thanked him for everything and all she got was a grunt. No thankyou and it was a pleasure to have you and come again...............

Review 10:Location, comfort and the breakfast was nice.

Review 11:There was nothing, absolutely nothing I didn't like

Review 12:Lady who operates the Jacaranda was just so helpful and friendly without being invasive. Room was lovely and comfortable too. 100% for the shower. A nice hot shower with plenty of water... rather rare these days. Gardens were beautiful. A very well cared for place. Thank you to the lady from the Jacaranda. We had a great stay

Review 13:The staff seemed completely disinterested and inconvenienced by my presence, we were offered a brief tour and very little else in the way of customer service. Altogether a disappointing experience and I will not be revisiting the Jacaranda Guest house.

Review 14:Leaving

Review 15:Would have been happier if we knew exactly what was available with the breakfast menu! E.G. Eggs and Bacon..etc

Review 16:Very comfortable with a nice homely feel Well presented and friendly environment Quiet with beautiful surrounds User Friendly!

Review 17:The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but was comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to the town centre and the beach.

Review 18:It's an old house built in the 1920s and it still has that charm. The gardens are beautiful and the location is only one street away from the main street, so easy walking as we did. The beach and jetty are a short walk and it was peaceful. Our hosts Martin and Ann were like old friends and we felt very comfortable there. We will go back again.

Review 19:This is not a major dislike...but price was quite high to be honest. We paid almost $500 for 2 night stay for 3 ppl. I know everything is pretty much expensive in Australia and plus being it long weekend, I couldn't find any other better accommodation. But the stay was still very good.

Review 20:Everything! Location, tick. Lovely clean room, tick. Comfy beds, tick. Great host, tick (Ann is amazing!). Free fast internet, tick. Yummy breakfast, tick.

Review 21:I had to go home!!

Review 22:The hosts were considerate, helpful and friendly but not overbearing. Lovely ambience, great choice at breakfast. I would feinitely recommend JAcaranda House.

Review 23:Room can only be described as compact. Building construction meant privacy was poor. Fixtures and fittings old-fashioned. We booked a double room and were given a twin; this was not a problem but we did not get what we expected.

Review 24:Splendid location, attractive gardens. Fresh fruit for breakfast and toast and marmalade was good. Coffee and cake provided for evening a good 'touch'.

Review 25:Homely atmosphere in this old-fashioned little guesthouse, friendly hosts Anna & Martin - loved the breakfast at one table with guests from all over the world. Enjoyed the lush garden with several seating areas, nice spots to chat with other guests. Appreciated the heating blanket in the bed and the reverse aircon.

Review 26:Anne was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, fresh fruit, cereal, toast and jams.. Healthy and nutritious. Room was small., but we were there only one night and didn't need anything more. Close to seafront.. Gardens lovely.

Review 27:The common room with TV is restricted as typically only one group can use it at a time. Tea and coffee facilities work well though. Something to clean up the cups with would be useful.

Review 28:The setting is great and the surrounds restive and quaint, bit of a trip back to yesteryear. Nice and quiet and no bed bugs. felt rested and relaxed each morning. Breakfasts are cosy and a good choice of food. You start your day refreshed.

Review 29:The owner seemed like one too many travellers had been through the door! But honestly the cleanliness and comfort made up for it. And the owners did not interfere AT ALL! I quite like the privacy.

Review 30:Comfy, clean, accommodating!

Review 31:Would have been better with a cooked breakfast. Also, no room tvs which meant the lounge room tv was a first in, first served approach. It was just like being at home but with a price tag.

Review 32:The comfortable lodgings were very homely and surrounded by lovely gardens only a 2 minute walk to Busselton central.

Review 33:Would have been good to have a Tele in the room.

Review 34:Very relaxing, no hassles, no pressure, laid back, helped when we requested an extra night. we may be back in the future.

Review 35:Bed sheets old wasn't sure if they had been changed bathroom not cleaned each day bedhead broken could not access bathroom until husband got out of his bed overall not clean and very outdated would not stay there again

Review 36:Location

Review 37:- insanely overpriced, even for event weekend - requests even a tiny bit out of the norm grudgingly accepted (wanting to receive mail package, boiling a pot of water) - tiny bed for 2 people (barely a double, much shorter and narrower than queen)

Review 38:- Good breakfast, available even at 4am in consideration of special event - small requests well accommodated - heated blanket for bed

Review 39:None

Review 40:The host are friendly and the place is ran like a B&B. Even though the room is a little small.. but it is good enough. Luckily, the Heater was working well as the night in Busselton was pretty cold.

Review 41:Our early arrival that had been arranged was strange to say the least. After knocking, waiting and ringing the bell we went round the back and was greeted very happily by the cleaner, who pointed us to Ann. With no greeting after I introduced my daughter and myself, was asked what room Im booked in. ?? I didnt know? Then was told to go back round the house, with a blank stare. In the office no welcome greeting, just formalities. Was shown our room etc. Reminder to Ann this early arrival was arranged. Greeting and welcoming your paying customers doesnt cost anything. Being told we should have sat at the places set out at the table after my daughter and I swapped a vacated spot to sit together and not at opposit sides of the table wasnt appreciated. I am sorry if we inconvenienced you in any way. This was not our intention.

Review 42:Cleanliness and bed was comfortable with lovely linen. Continental Breakfast was generous. Ann was helpful allowing my daughter and I to have an early check in and a late check out. The cleaning lady in the kitchen was so lovely and friendly. The location is excellent.

Review 43:An ideal location. The high standard of the rooms. A very good continental breakfast. The convivial atmosphere. The areas of the gardens available for sitting and relaxing. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 44:For a longer stay, I would have found the room too small

Review 45:Homely Comfortable Convivial breakfast table Communal TV area Good Wifi in bedroom Short walk to the jetty area and to town Peaceful outdoor areas (though couldn't take advantage of these due to rain)

Review 46:Excellent for short stopover. Good selection for breakfast. Problem with in-room fridge not working was fixed by installation of a new fridge within hours. Lovely property

Review 47:Very small room, with very thin walls No TV in the room Expensive. We`ve satyed in a 3brm house around the corner for $175/night

Review 48:Location was good, walking distance to the heart of Busselton Clean room with aircond

Review 49:I don't have any complaints.

Review 50:The room was very comfortable. All rooms have a private bathroom and comfortable beds with ELECTRIC BLANKETS - so grateful as nights were cold. The gardens are beautiful.

Review 51:Very comfy beds great breakfast

Review 52:It was comfortable and friendly. the breakfast was great too.

Review 53:Staff is nice, room is clean, breakfast is good and the location is so close to beach

Review 54:The location is fabulous!! I had read some bad reviews and regretted booking us in, but, when I got there, it was fantastic.

Review 55:Rooms

Review 56:The location was fabulous and the place was clean and roomy

Review 57:We have stayed here before a few years ago so know that it was a good place to stay again.

Review 58:Room a bit small, but there are community lounges, dining room, garden tables

Review 59:Comfortable beds. Electric blankets. Nice gardens

Review 60:Seems a bit expensive for a guest house. No real complaints though.

Review 61:Only a few minutes walk from pubs and eateries.

Review 62:The location could not be better to the city centre and beach side and jetty.

Review 63:bed was a bit small

Review 64:Lovely place to stay, friendly hosts and delicious breakfast.

Review 65:lovely people to stay with, great breakfast, lovely room

Review 71:Very convenient, clean, comfortable room with a very friendly lady operator. Would definitely recommend.

Review 72:Found it to be once again friendly and it was a very comfortable stay.

Review 73:Nothing.

Review 74:We loved everything about this place. Would recommend it to all. The ambience was just wonderful.

Review 75:It does not change the towels every day.

Review 76:The location is perfect, and the breakfast is good with fresh items.

Review 77:Comfortable and Private entrance very appealing. Just a cosy home away from home.

Review 78:Only down side was no TV or radio in the room

Review 79:the staff were very pleasant, garden was lovely

Review 80:Staff weren't that welcoming/friendly for a bnb accommodation No tv in bedroom

Review 81:Clean, tidy and comfortable. I'd stay again.

Review 82:every thing was first class

Review 83:Very friendly host Location excellent Great breakfast and comfy clean room

Review 84:Room was very small.

Review 85:Great location. Very clean. Bathroom facilities very good. Very helpful owner.

Review 86:Location and well managed

Review 87:Owners need to not tell their customers about their personal problems

Review 88:The location was great. Breakfast was lovely.

Review 89:clean and friendly,

Review 90:More of a boarding house feel than a guest house.

Review 91:Well furnished room.

Review 92:easy access to town in a quiet street with pleasant surroundings. Very obliging owners who go out of their way to look after your needs.

Review 93:The Family went out of their way to look after us, it was all very nice and a nice place to be and we will go back again.

Review 94:Ann was very helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The B&B was very central to town and beach very easy walk to all.

Review 95:A little more "rustic" than expected. No heating but electric blanket; therefore can be cold to shower / bathroom. Insufficient power outlets.

Review 96:Good internet. Good location.

Review 97:Room smelt musty, fan very noisy in bathroom. Not very private, woken up by noisy couple next door. Owner not forthcoming with information about area. Had to leave car on front street as insufficient parking.

Review 98:Great walking distance to shops and jetty. Lovely garden.

Review 99:Jacaranda is a guest house that I would choose again on my next visit to Busselton. Strategically located between the beach and the town. I stayed in Jacaranda for 2 nites (11-13th April). Room was neat and decently prepared. Breakfast was served with various cereals, breads, fruits and beverages. A cozy area for watching tv or reading or just relaxing while browsing thru many tourist attraction booklets and pamphlets. A strong recommendation for those looking for a value-for-money cozy place to stay.

Review 100:Parking was a bit limited but not a great problem.

Review 101:Good location. Room was clean and freshly decorated. Copius breakfast with a good selection of food.

Review 102:Car parking can be like musical chairs!

Review 103:Quaint, comfortable accommodation! Rather like staying in a beach hut. Very bright and clean room with ensuite. Very close to Busselton jetty and the main street. All within walking distance. Simple breakfast provided.Saff friendly and helpful.

Review 104:The rooms A bit on the small side but good for a couple of days. Guess we're just used to kingsize beds & lots of space. All in all a good spot.

Review 105:Great location. Clean. Nice outdoor areas. Helpful owners

Review 106:Old fashioned B&B - You have breakfast in the main house's dining room, at the dining room table. Decor is very grandma homely.

Review 107:Excellent, central location. Soft towels and plenty of blankets (if required) Lots of space in the room.

Review 108:The room was small, the bed uncomfortable and the rooms had no tv only a communal one. I thought it was overpriced for the value of the accommodation.

Review 109:The bedrooms were on the small side, adequate though and the breakfast room was small.

Review 110:The garden area was excellent for relaxing, reading, sitting in the sun etc. The owners were very friendly and informative about the area. The location was excellent, close to sea and town.

Review 111:it was over priced, the host was unfriendly and not very pleasant, out dated décor, dining room too small to fit all of the guests, overall not a very pleasant experience....

Review 112:close proximity to the beach and shops

Review 113:Jacaranda is a lovely B&B. Mind you my first experience with a B&B. I think in future if I stay outside the family home I will find a B&B instead of a hotel/motel.

Review 114:Not a criticism really, but the decor definitely suited the older traveller.

Review 115:Clean simple rooms with comfortable beds. In easy walking distance to beach and to shops in town.
