Reviews for Hotel Leeuwenbrug
Review 1:This was one of the best places I have stayed at in all of Europe. It is very cozy with a nice lobby area for lounging and breakfast. The staff is very welcoming and the room I had was large. I would go back!
Review 2:The hotel doesn't provide toothpaste, which is inconvenient.
Review 3:The luxury room has an amazing view of city, and the bed is very comfortable. The room is very new and all the facilities worked very well.
Review 4:lack of negatives
Review 5:Small hotel, near the train station (5 min. Walk). Located on one of the channels. Nice friendly service. Good breakfast. Hotel worth recommendation.
Review 6:couldn't think of anything right now
Review 7:Very friendly, helpfull staff. Decent clean rooms. Very near the city centre and located on one of the historic canals of Delft.
Review 8:the heating thermostat was under a desk so difficult to regulate, but this is a tiny quibble really.
Review 9:Fantastic location, easy to find. Helpful staff knew about local events. Tasty pancakes for breakfast.
Review 10:Absolutely nothing negative.
Review 11:We were given a free upgrade to a de-luxe room, which was splendid. The staff were very helpful and friendly - they even lent us an adaptor so we could charge our phone. The breakfast was excellent, and the free wifi was good too.
Review 12:This is a basic hotel and not very luxurious. We asked them for a romantic room and they were very nice but recommended that we upgrade. The room was therefore more expensive but was still quite basic with 2 single beds on wheels pushed together. Excellent view though. The breakfast and facilities were all very basic. Bathroom was lovely and big. We didn't spend much time in the hotel so it was perfect for us.
Review 13:The location is excellent and the staff were very nice. Considering we were so central the hotel was lovely and quiet. Delft is a great place to visit for 4 days and this hotel is ideal for that.
Review 14:The location of the Hotel is perfect. Central to everything. Hotel staff were really friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the building beside the hotel and it was lovely and warm, very clean and had everything we could possibly want or need. We will definitely be going back there. we highly recommend this hotel !!! :)
Review 15:Small rooms on the ground floor, especially bathrooms. Last year, I was on the 1st floor and the overall impression was much better.
Review 16:Tidiness, quiet (1st floor)
Review 17:It's a very little bit noisy, because it's in a nice old buidling, with wooden floors. You can't hear people, but the flushing of toilets. That's all.
Review 18:Excellent staff and cleaning. Nice, cosy Hotel near to the centre.
Review 19:The hotel is located right in the middle of Delft's old centre. It is just a few steps to reach the main square, the restaurants shops. If you come by public transport it's just a 5 minutes walk to the main station. The room was really comfortable the bed is big, and just perfect. Fair variety of food for breakfast. The room was quiet, and had a view to the New Church. We really enjoyed our stay there, we might come back to this same place when we come back to visit our relative who lives there.
Review 20:The location of the hotel was central to everything. The staff was friendly and spoke perfect English. The hotel and rooms were clean and beautiful. An old world charm.
Review 21:attention to detail, e.g. coffee cup in the room, with coffee available, fruits in the entrance hall, so little things which makes the welcome more pleasant
Review 22:Room very compact but no complaints
Review 23:Very clean with good size shower. Good breakfast included with fresh fruit, yoghurt meats cheeses etc. Hotel across from canal and good restaurants and shopping nearby. Staff very friendly.
Review 24:The best thing is its location, next to a canal in the beautiful town of Delft, an easy walk from the station and the centre. The rooms are comfortable. This time I was in a basement room but I know from previous stays that some of the upstairs rooms have good views over the town.
Review 25:Superb location in the heart of the old town of Delft, within 10min walk of the railway station. Friendly staff. Comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms. Superb breakfast with lots of fresh meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, breads and delicious pancakes.
Review 26:I thought this was a very nice hotel with lovely staff and great location and wouldn't complain about a thing. However, if you have a light sleep, be ready to hear the guests on the next room talking or even flushing the toilet at night. I didn't care at all because all the good things about this hotel make it up for these little details. Also I had one of the cheapest rooms, maybe the other ones are better.
Review 27:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent! The street is very nice right in front of a canal and only a 5 min walk to the main square.Supermarkets, restaurants and all kind of shops are around the corner. There is a mini fridge and coffee service in the room. The breakfast is simple but good enough to start your day: Bread, eggs, ham, cheese, pancakes, fruits, etc :D
Review 28:Single room rather narrow and a bit too cold for my standards, but perhaps it is only because I was in the mansard.
Review 29:Nice small hotel right in the city center and very near to central train station. Friendly staff.
Review 30:Excellent location. It's close to the train station and the town square on a quiet canal lined street. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was extensive with meats, cheese and breads (even pancakes). Coffee was delicious! Highly recommend!
Review 31:You must watch out for the bicycles as they come very fast.
Review 32:Nice town with cute town square. Good cafes and food. Hotel was a short walk from the center.
Review 33:The only small moan was having to type in multiple logins to access the wi -fi but at least it was free!
Review 34:We had a wonderful room (20) which had a lovely view of the canal. It was spacious with comfortable armchairs and tea & coffee making facilities. The location was excellent - we had a car which we parked easily at the near by underground car park called Zuidpoort which cost - 15 euros for 24 hours. There was an even closer car park called Gashuisplaats but we could not fathom what the prices were and there was little information about how it operated. We left the car throughout our two day stay and took the train to visit The Hague. It was only one stop on the intercity express and cost just £4.20.per person. There were train journeys to many places available from Delft eg Amsterdam all of which seem to be cheap and frequent. The station was an easy ten minute walk away from the hotel. There was a tram which normally ran to The Hague but as it was half term, maintenance work was taking place so it was not running. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. I can highly recommend the Hotel Leeuwenbrug for its charm and character but with it also has up to date essentials like a shining modern bathroom with a good shower and free wi - fi.
Review 35:The room could use a refurbishment and it was a bit dustier than I would expect. But at the price point (85 euro) I was perfectly happy.
Review 36:Superb location. Nice breakfast. Quiet and comfortable.
Review 37:Nice hotel, but don´t expect anything outside the ordinary servicewise. I had a late check in, but that turned out to be totally imopossible to arrange. I suggested three diffrent types of soloutions. For me to pre-pay and they to hide the key, for me to pre-pay and my friend to pick upp the key during the day, for me to pay extra and get to check in half an hour after their regular closing-time (11 pm). But there was absolutely no way. Had to cancel my first night and last minute book another hotel, of the three hotel I contacted non had a problem with late check-in, they all had a solution.
Review 38:Not so much a bad experience, but the toilet/shower room was a bit cramped. I'm 13 stone and 5'10" - any bigger could be a problem.
Review 39:Picturesque location. Great location for rail station and all sites, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Review 40:Excellent location, delicious breakfast buffet and cheerful, helpful young ladies at the front desk. Our very large room had a delightful view of a double arched bridge over a canal. We'd stay there again!
Review 41:Small double bed - staff was not very joyful
Review 42:Delft is truly a great city to visit - the hotel is a good base to start from. The room was spacious and full of light.
Review 43:Nice hotel but our room had windows facing the alley. Next time I would stay on an upper floor.
Review 44:Wonderful location close to train station and town center. Very good breakfast. Hotel faces a canal in scenic part of Delft.
Review 45:Nothing here to dislike.
Review 46:Love the location! Near everything. Clean, quiet room. Great, strong shower! Had a small fridge and coffee pot. Good breakfast. It was just perfect for me!
Review 47:Slightly cold in the bedroom. also tiny sink in bathroom resulting in water over the floor and I kept banging my head on the shelf because of size of sink! Otherwise it was an excellent hotel.
Review 48:Beautiful canal side location and building. Excellent breakfast.Large bedroom.
Review 49:Smelly bathroom. Room clean and good quality but a bit dated.
Review 50:Really great spot, perfect for walking around delft and evenings out. Very picturesque hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast great quality and very fine spread.
Review 51:In the last day, the elevator did not work and I could carry my luggage from third floor to ground floor :(
Review 52:their breakfast was good, the staff were friendly, and good location :)
Review 53:Had a double on the ground floor, which meant some people walking down the street passed your window. This would be expected in Delft with any ground floor though. Just something for others to be aware of.
Review 54:Good location, Friendly staff, Room was good, clean comfortable.
Review 55:Next door parking not really accessible to tourists - no cash option and didn't accept most credit cards. Nearest parking approximately 500 metres away.
Review 56:Location, comfortable small hotel.
Review 57:Bathroom was a bit small and basic. Particularly the small plastic shower head. Spending a few euro on a better shower head would be a well worthwhile investment.
Review 58:Almost everything. From the moment I saw the hotel, I knew I had made the right choice. When I entered, this was again confirmed. I felt at home immediately. Inge was very friendly and helpful. My room was not ready and Inge offered me a cup of coffee while I was waiting. She then showed me to my room, which was great. Very nice, bright, comfortable, quiet, good-sized room. Nice little garden outside window. The hotel was really nice and in a fantastic location. The whole decor of common areas was very Dutch and not just some bland hotel. The location was fantastic. Right on a lovely canal with a bridge outside. Just a few minutes walk to train station and just a few minutes walk to city centre. Superb buffet breakfast. Good wifi. All in all, I was really impressed with this hotel. I can very highly recommend and would definitely choose for any future stay in Delft.
Review 59:Nice but very modest breakfast, at night pizza delivery guys on motobikes explode the surrounding with horrible noise (but it is problem for Delft in general, nit this particuar property).
Review 60:Helpful staff, located 3 min walk from Delft station and city centre, sitting area in front of the hotel (for smokers or to chill out).
Review 61:I liked the old feeling of the building & it is within easy access to all the attractions, the walking tour gave an excellent insight to the history of Delft
Review 62:We had 2 rooms of 2 for 5 nights, needed table for 4 at breakfast. There were only few big tables and even if marked as "reserved" single guests were choosing to sit there avoiding us from siting and wait for the next free one. I would expect the hotel staff to, gently, explain them why they should move to a smaller tables.....no parking.
Review 63:Location, cleanliness, smiling faces, fruits and other spoiling things in the reception all day. Rich Breakfast and the buffet replenished all the time. Great staff with good hospitality manners.
Review 64:Wifi wasn't working but I don't think it was the hotels fault. I think there were hacker issues all over delft.
Review 65:Proximity to town. Cleanliness. Spacious room.
Review 66:the breakfast area was a little congested but nothing that prevent me returning to this lovely hotel. The wash hand basin in the bathroom was a little difficult to reach because of the wall cabinet and shelf immediately above it.
Review 67:location relative to the centre of Delft was excellent. Excellent room with some inteseting modern touches
Review 68:We had a room at the front of the hotel with a small single lane road right by the canal. It was hot we opened the windows, the noise from students coming back from their night out was dreadful, at 2.30am a huge violent row erupted outside, with girls screaming and crying. At around 4.30am people were racing their cars at about 60mph down the road!!! Ask for a room at the back! Not the hotels fault! No cooked breakfast, but good fresh fruit salad.
Review 69:Good sized rooms comfortable. A secure place to store our 4 bikes overnight. friendly staff. Very near to old centre of Delft. We booked out at 11am, but could leave our bikes and luggage until 11pm.
Review 70:The room was a rather small and the shower room a little cramped but still perfectly adequate.
Review 71:The staff were friendly and accommodating at all times. The canal side location was idylic and quiet and yet easy walking distance to the station and the centre as well as next door to a good size public car park car. There were always freebies on the reception counter such as sweets, biscuits and even on one occasion bowls of fresh fruit.
Review 72:Great location very close to the centre of town and on the banks of one of Delft's best canals, but still very quiet. Easy walk to evertying Delft has to offer
Review 73:No parking space.
Review 74:The staffs's genuine hospitality came from their heart not head.A boutique,vintage-looked hotel filled itself with high quality modern amenities. Breakfast is excellent. We like lobby's atmos phere very much.
Review 75:breakfast was very good and as soon as something ran out the staff replaced it. Staff were very friendly. Also liked the fact there were little things at the front desk during the day, like fruit or amaretti biscuits to help yourself to. Also when you arrive you are offered tea or coffee
Review 76:The breakfast area was very crowded on Sunday morning - there weren't enough tables and things kept running out. The staff tried hard to help though. Parking is a bit difficult - not the hotel's fault but the nearby car park wouldn't accept UK cards.
Review 77:The staff were incredibly helpful. The room was comfortable and had a great view. The bike storage facility was very useful - although it would have been helpful to have an individuall key instead of keep asking to borrow the hotel one.
Review 78:Nothing really.
Review 79:The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. Some might say that the corridor makes sounds when someone passes, but this is quite usual in Europe. At least it was OK for me. The breakfast was wonderful and the room where they served it had marvelous decorations. I will stay in this hotel again next time I visit Delft.
Review 80:There doors are closed at 11pm as there are no overnight staff in attendance. An after hours key system is operational but involves remembering to carry a bulky metal key fob.
Review 81:The hotel is very central and easy to find. The railway station is also with walking distance.
Review 82:Parking issue should be resolved, perhaps have some included parking spaces reserved in the parking lot for guests.
Review 83:Love the antiques throughout the hotel that added to the charm of the establishment. The bathrooms were incredibly modern and clean
Review 84:Not really just if the staffs could not smile like robots, it would be fantastic though it's not an issue.
Review 85:Location -Close to the train station and citycenter. Room -It's like a roft and was very cozy Breakfast -It was the first time I can appreciate breakfast offering from the hotel. Such a great one and still I am missing it.
Review 86:Room initially allocated did not correspond to expectation of de luxe bedroom shown on booking.com picture (eg larger bed). Situation rectified without too much difficulty
Review 87:Great location, beautiful hotel, beautiful bedroom with balcony with flowers and chairs. delicious and copious breakfast. Lovely and helpful staff in the morning.
Review 88:We were a group of cyclists touring Holland. We arrived on bike after a hot, long day of cycling and we were greeted with fresh fruit, iced water, smoked salmon finger sandwiches and cookies!! (And at no charge.)
Review 89:The reception at 23:10. The receptionist was so unfriendly and cold. The first thing said upon entry in the hotel, 'you are charged with 20 euro for late arrival'. The first thing that came into mind, are we not paying the full night but using their facilities for only 6 hours instead of 12 hours? The hotel management was apologetic and later refunded us the 20 euro. This second visit, we had a very small room. The shower and toilet was very cramped.
Review 90:Great location. Short walking distance to key destination in Delft. It is in the Oude Delft area. Breakfast is good, offering variety of selection. This is the second stay in the hotel. The first stay was very good. We had a fantastic spacious room. All staff were friendly.
Review 91:Bedroom quality , bathroom ultra small..sitting on the toilet you had to have your feet in the shower try. Window to alley way.Asked fora better room but not possible...web site should show bad as well as exceptional rooms. Parking to far from hotel..
Review 92:Location and staff
Review 93:Free wifi not good, but a PC on first floor quick loggin. So no problem using it.
Review 94:A very friendly hotel, clean, big rooms. Excellent breakfast. A nice relaxed stay. Everything you need in a hotel quite and a lovely location. Will stay again.
Review 95:The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Delft Station and walking distance to the points of interest in the City. The room, overlooking the canal, was spacious and the staff was kind and friendly. Will stay here again if I get a chance to come back.
Review 96:Wi-fi seemed to be turned off at 11 PM.
Review 97:Location a few minutes from the train station and close to everything of interest in the peaceful center of Delft. Friendly helpful staff. Simple comfortable room with everything needed for a short stay - even a small fridge.
Review 98:Smokers in front of the hotel made it impossible to have the window open.
Review 99:We were upgraded to a lovely room overlooking the canal. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was fabulous.
Review 100:We couldn't manage to connect to WIFI in the room, poor breakfast
Review 101:Best room, very comfortable bed, designed in old style but averything is new and very clean
Review 102:Cannot recognize.
Review 103:Center of the town is compact, so couple hundred meters from railway station, from Market Square, from every where, half of hour to walk to the Delft TU. Sweets at the Reception when one comes back to the hotel in night. Very cosily. You will be provided with a list of restaurants in the town. Good view from window.
Review 104:The hotel is located very close to the train station (5 min walk) on the channel and close to the city center. We lived in a separate building, very spacious room with a sofa area and desk, there was a kettle. Bathroom is also spacious and has a bathtub and shower. From the window overlooking the canal and at night it was quite quiet. Breakfast in the main building in the area of reception, delicious, with fresh strawberries. Staff friendly, we arrived on a hot day, we were immediately offered a very tasty drink. I recommend this hotel to stay in Delft.
Review 105:Very poorand slow WiFi that required repeated signing in with lengthy user ID and password. In this day and age, free, fast and user freiendly WiFi is the norm if you expect to be used by business travellers. Cheap, old fashioned plastic shower curtains. Cheap and nasty bathroom toiletries
Review 106:Great location. Lovely old building with annex overlooking canal. Very cheerful, helpful and welcoming staff. Fantastic, varied breakfast. Clean and spacious room.
Review 107:the welcome offer of refreshments, when we arrived, the position of the hotel on the canal, the clever use of space in the small room, with plenty of storage space.
Review 108:Nothing!!!
Review 109:Both the train station and city centre were only a few minutes walk away and the hotel is situated by the canal where the tour boats start. Our room looked out onto the garden and was very quiet. There are benches and tables outside the front of the hotel overlooking the canal. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast plentiful.
Review 110:The noise from the adjacent street / lane was not pleasant. Bettter sound proofing could be considered.
Review 111:Great hotel, upgrades have been done tastefully and functionally. Very impressed with this hotel.
Review 112:The kettle was not in a good condition which cause i can't make hot beverage.
Review 113:I like the location of the hotel which is new to the station and most of the delft attractions.
Review 114:The kettle was not very clean so we never use it.
Review 115:It is located near to attractions and many restaurants. Staff is friendly and let us know the car park that is two blocks away and only cost 8 Euro per day. The breakfast are the best we got in Netherlands.
Review 116:Sometimes too crowded at breakfast. No room to 'expand' buffet breakfast bar.
Review 117:Overall location. Helpfull staff. Rooms clean. Kettle and fridge a bonus.
Review 118:Nothing
Review 119:This is a charming small hotel in a great location, full of Dutch character and nice straightforward hospitality. The breakfast buffet was very good indeed with good coffee.
Review 120:Our room was facing the street on the first floor..it was a little noisy.
Review 121:You couldn't beat the location. It was a nice big sunny room and the bathroom was large as well.
Review 122:As there were four of us we booked 2 twin rooms. These were quite spacious and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent: the way it was presented looked lovely and it was a good start to the day. The hotel is in the heart of Delft alongside one of the canals, it is a few minutes walk to the main sights of the centre. Although there is no hotel parking, there is a large public car park almost next door.
Review 123:Enjoyed a weekend trip to Delft which is a beautiful small city. Breakfast was lovely with a variety of cheeses and fish plus the usual cereals, fruit and yoghourts. Personnell really helpful and car park almost next door- daily tarif.
Review 124:We very much appreciated the young women who were the front desk staff--they could not have been more helpful and so kind. We really enjoyed our spacious room, after traveling for nearly a month, we really need to "spread out" and our room provided the extra space we craved. And, the heated towel racks--we had some cold, rainy and windy days and it felt good to enjoy those warm towels. Location could not be more perfect. We will tell our friends and we certainly will be back!
Review 125:It was a pleasent stay. Evrything was fine, exept for the beds. They were too soft. My back did not like your beds
Review 126:Very good stay. Friendly staff. Very goog breakfast. Pleasent rooms.
Review 127:Be aware! The website says reception and check-in closes at 23.00 but it's actually 22.00!! Pretty significant for an unsuspecting traveller. We arrived at 21.45 thinking we had well over an hour but, in fact, we barely got there in time.
Review 128:Five minutes walk from train station and the tourist areas. Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable.
Review 129:This is a small hotel with a personal touch: not at all like your typical one-in-a-thousand hotels. The rooms are rather small, but pleasant, and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast in the lobby looks small, but everything is there -- and coffee is being served!
