Reviews for Hotel Johannes Vermeer Delft

Review 1:If there is a down side it would be the fact that the car parking facilities were a five minute walk from the hotel at a cost of 15 Errors a day but thats a small price to pay for what you get

Review 2:The hotel was well layed out with a very inviting restaurant and bar area the staff were impeccable , polite ,informative friendly . they made me feel welcome , and at home, my window looked out on the narrow street with the canal ruining through it was a pleasure to see the swans ,and ducks swimming around it was a peace full location so rest was gauanteed but just a short walk to local bars and restaurants

Review 3:We called at the hotel to ask directions to the parking garage and when we went for the car had a parking ticket of 88euros

Review 4:staff friendliness and convenient location

Review 5:- Somewhat noisy when having a room at the frontside of the hotel. Thats the price to pay for the great location - Would have expected more variety at the breakfast table (e.g. fresh croissants instead of pre-baked factory bread)

Review 6:- Great location - Very nicely refurbished rooms - Friendly personnel, giving you the feeling of being at home

Review 7:Room was musty and, though large, had no place to set suitcases except achair which meant we couldn't sit down. Had to ask for rug to beswept because found bobby pins laying on it. Hearing the noise of thesweeper go over the rug, it was obvious that it hadn't been swept ina while. Shower was the Euro style with no glass wall or curtain(totally open to bathroom) so entire bathroom floor was wet andslippery. Had to dry off toilet to use it - and move toilet paper toother side of bathroom! Also had to move toiletries off vanity or theygot wet. Maybe other rooms were better but, unless you can guaranteethat, I would not recommend this hotel. Have no idea how they got thehigh rating. Felt very misled by that. Would not recommend.

Review 8:Location was good and breakfast was nice. Nice jacuzzi tub.

Review 9:The first day of our 3 day visit our room was not serviced and by early evening we had to request at reception that the room be cleaned . They tried to blame us by saying we were in the room and that is the reason it was not cleaned, but that was simply untrue as we had left the room at 10h00.

Review 10:A very good location in a beautiful town.

Review 11:The light in the bathroom was not working and they could not repair it. Then we were pointed to an "identical room" on 4th floor but appeared to be much smaller, so needed to go down again with all our luggage. The personal was not fantastic.

Review 12:Good value for money, excellent location to explore Delft and environment. Decent breakfast and good coffee. Efficiently managed. Hotel full of charactet.

Review 13:Friendly staff, decent breakfast selection (standard hotel buffet really), the air conditioning in the rooms was very handy. Wifi good as well. Very good location too.

Review 14:Twin beds pushed together for a double. You still rolled into the middle! No iron available which was a nuisance. Apparently they get stolen! Shame bar area isn't busier in the evening. No view from the room, but it was a deal of the day rate.

Review 15:Excellent breakfast. Covered in terrace overlooking canal. Staff friendly and helpful. Room well appointed. Ideal location for exploring Delft. Easy walk to station. Market days are excellent. Big choice of restaurants in town.

Review 16:Wifi didn't work even though the staff really tried to fix it (service was a plus). It seems housekeeping forgot to empty the trash bin of the guests before us. No problem as there wasn't anything really gross but still. For the rest I loved everything.

Review 17:This hotel used to be a tobaco factory. We got to stay in the old director's office, which has been turned into a beautiful double room. Too bad we were only one night as the bed was quiet comfortable. Wonderful place to stay.

Review 18:Close to city centre and car park. Nice size room, comfy and clean. Pleasant friendly staff and good continental breakfast. We thought value for money and would stay again.

Review 19:Not really a bad experience but the hotel didn't an elevator and the upper stair case was very steep and similar to a spiral type staircase. It made very difficult to carry heavy suitcases to the room on the third floor.

Review 20:Hotel very centrally located and staff with helpful with information about parking and public transport.

Review 21:With it been an old building in the historic part of Delft, there was no lift. Our room was at the top of 55, sometimes narrow, winding steps. This can't be helped, But a person with limited abilities would find difficult.

Review 22:The location was excellent with good staff willing to help. Security of the bikes was an important part.

Review 23:It was very difficult to get to. One can't approach it in a car and parking and walking quite a distance with luggage was confusing, time consuming, and uncomfortable. Then we had to climb to the top floor, as there is no elevator. They were also completely out of ice.

Review 24:The location in the center of the old district is nice, but too hard to get to. The staff was nice.

Review 25:Absolutely loved the location, very central and easy walking distance from station (about 8 minutes). It was great to be able to eat breakfast on the terrace overlooking the canal.

Review 26:Cleaning minimal, requests agreed but not implemented, nor followed up. Complaints not handled well but eventually resolved. Lack of awareness of negative impact on customer on holiday. We were on first floor but would not have liked to do stairs to higher levels as my vertigo would have made it difficult.

Review 27:Location great Room spacious and air conditioned Lovely communal areas Staff friendly

Review 28:Curtains let in too much light

Review 29:Excellent central location but still peaceful, lovely big room with canal views, generous breakfast, friendly helpful staff Delft Fringe location

Review 30:No lift but we knew this. Room a little small but quaint.

Review 31:Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Was given choice of room and chose top floor even though no lift, but lovely view, breakfast was fab in a lovely breakfast room and also a lovely lounge area. Good location.

Review 32:They lied about parking! There is no private parking - only a public car park about 400 yards away. It was impossible to bring the car close to the hotel - luggage had to be carried over 100 yards.

Review 33:Staff were pleasant and helpful

Review 34:Little difficult to locate - sign on building does not match the name of the hotel

Review 35:Located on a canal very near the Centrum - very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Parking is convenient.

Review 36:When I arrived the room wasn't ready... and it took 3 hours to make it ready.

Review 37:Location, style, nice staff, view on the church from the room, good breakfast

Review 38:No bath. We both needed a long hot soak after an exhausting journey! No lift.

Review 39:Quiet room (at the rear). Large bed. Served a superb local bottled beer.

Review 40:Great old hotel - careful though, not easy to find as the name is written in small letters at the front, and my room was at the top so lots of stairs to climb.

Review 41:This is not a right hotel for anyone who likes towels or bedlinens to be changed everyday, because they don't do that. Actually, I wonder, how long it would take before they do. Some years ago the bathroom was spotless clean, now not quite.

Review 42:This is a nice hotel with an exellent location. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable and easy to stay even a bit longer. A nice berakfast, friendly staff.

Review 43:No lift for cases to get up to rooms.

Review 44:Spacious room overlooking canal . Cleanliness throughout. Very helpful and friendly staff. I'd like to come back agin.

Review 45:AC was horrible , you can't use it because it's blowing out very cold air exactly at you'd bed , you can get sick, no bar in the room, bathroom was very bad no place to put your stuff the hotel smells like very old

Review 46:Parking. Parked in wrong car park from sat nav and got ticket 82euros.No signs up at all or machine. Other car park available for only 8euro a day. Needs blackout curtains.

Review 50:The room wasn't properly cleaned each day. The bed was made but that was about it.

Review 51:The room was spacious and comfortable. We arrived quite early on the first day and were given a room straightaway. The staff on the front desk were helpful and friendly. Excellent location in the heart of Delft.

Review 52:Apparently bed linen is not changed for every guest which is not good. We had to sleep on used bed sheets for two nights.

Review 53:Excellent location, very comfortable and good size large rooms, very courteous and helpful staff.

Review 54:Hotel Johannes Vermeer is conveniently located in the centre of Delft not far from the train station. The staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and the beds are comfortable. There was a wide selection at the continental breakfast table.
