Reviews for Lofoten Suitehotel

Review 1:The suite room is good even if you have to share lounge, kitchen with another room. Space is big for everybody. Rooms facing front have excellent view. It is near to ferry terminal. Friendly host and helpful staff. Recommended if you want to cook your own meal.

Review 2:Unable to think of any disappointments. Oh yes. My wife, Lois, sleeps with windows open all the time. She could not figure out how to lower the heat coming up from the bedroom floor. No problem she kept the door opened.

Review 3:Able to use the clean and well stocked apartment kitchen. The view was spectacular. Went out on the veranda to get even nearer to the sights, sounds and breath in the crisp, cool atmosphere of Svolvær in the end of December, 2015.

Review 4:We loved the room with in the apartment concept, and we were fortunate enough not to have to share the apartment with anyone else. We had access to the kitchen and living dining area all to ourselves. Our room was compact but very comfortable and modern. Bathroom had added bonus of a double shower AND a sauna. The decor was crisp fresh modern...and the entire place was very clean. The front office staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel, has 2 restaurants, one pub like place and a more formal one. Both offered lovely food. The position couldn't be better as we stepped off the Hurtigruten ship and walked 100 meters to the hotel.

Review 5:Nobody at the desk on arrival and on departure. Not very clear where to ask for... Kitchen and living area are shared by two rooms.

Review 6:Exceptional location Very good level of comfort

Review 7:It was a bit noisy late in the evening between 12 midnight till around 2-3 am from activities in restaurant belo.

Review 8:Great view good layout of the apartment and close to everything.

Review 9:The window was broken and didn't close properly. It was no problem, but September nights can be cold.

Review 10:The Lofoten Suite Hotel is located right in the centre of Svolvaer. The room and the suite was nice and clean. The staff was friendly. We would recommend this accommodation.

Review 11:Nothing at all!

Review 12:Come into that apartment left me with an open mouth! It was great! good taste, great views, very confortable, very well location (2min from the dock). Everything was perfect!

Review 13:We had a 3rd floor two bedroom suite at the front of the hotel. There is an outdoor restaurant and bar on the ground floor open to 2.30am and our whole apartment was throbbing with LOUD bass and the shouting of drunken patrons below until the wee hours of the morning. The music got louder as the night went on and my whole family was kept awake past 3am at which point the party started dying down. Not exactly what I had in mind in coming to the Lofoten Islands. Although the Suitehotel has a lot of good features it failed the basic function of a hotel which is getting a good nights sleep, so I am unable to recommend it. The outdoor speakers are directly below the rooms. We were there on a Saturday and most likely weekends are the most raucous. It probably is quieter the rest of the week, but we didn't stick around to find out. Rooms at the back of the hotel might be quieter but they lack the best views.

Review 14:Very spacious accommodation and nicely appointed

Review 15:A very strange hotel I cannot recommend, they were helpful and helped us cancel or future nights though for a full refund (no money back for the night we stayed though). The suites are very small since there is a common area shared by the suites. Who wants to sit in the sofa with strangers? Moreover, the suite we had had a glass door (dark glass) from the toilet into a sauna and the sauna also had a glass wall (completely clear) into the common area. This means that if we used the sauna, all other people could see us from the common area and if we used the toilet everyone could see our silhouettes in there. The worst part was though that the suites are located just above a night club which meant we could not sleep until 03:00 when they stopped playing. The sound level was crazy loud. Further, the Wifi is not working during the day time although it works fine during the night (that was what we were doing until 03:00).

Review 16:the shared balcony was right outside our bedroom which meant we had to keep our curtains closed and therefore couldn't always enjoy the great view.

Review 17:the size, kitchen facility, the view, comfortable

Review 18:The hotel or the building itself has a poor reception area. If you're plane is leaving later in the afternoon, you have to drag your baggage with you around the city, or leave it in the reception area where anyone could just pick it up. With standard hotels, they keep it in a storage room.

Review 19:The room/apartment is very nice and very clean. The bedroom is very comfortable. The concept, which is sharing the kitchenette, dining and living areas with other guests, seemed like a good idea. It creates some social contact among the guests.

Review 20:I wish WiFi was a bit faster 3mbit down and 1 up is probably more than enough for most visitors, but Skype calls was not that great.

Review 21:A modern hotel in the heart of Lofoten. Amazing view from the ground to ceiling windows. Very clean and spacious.

Review 22:The staff weren't at the front desk when I checked in, so I had to call them in. I was waiting in the lobby for about 10 minutes before they finally showed up, and I am pretty sure they only came from 1 floor up where the offices were.

Review 23:Very comfortable beds, considering I had just got back from a trip in Italy which had the worst beds I had ever slept on. The private sauna in my room was a great addition.

Review 24:A little bit expensive, but not for Norwegian prices.

Review 25:I was arriving later than 9pm (this is when check in usually closes) but I emailed ahead to let them know and the lovely girl waited for my arrival before she left which I really appreciated. I had the twin room, shared accommodation and I didn't really know what to expect. But I had my own hotel room, and the kitchen and lounge room facilities were shared with two other apartments and I really enjoyed this setup! I had the privacy and comfort of my own room, but I got to socialize with other travelers in the common area. And considering I was traveling alone, it was nice to have a conversation with people other than myself. The facilities were very clean, and the bed was very comfortable with a wonderful view overlooking the town square. I would definitely recommend this accommodation

Review 26:Great location with nice ,helpful and friendly staff. Room is clean, comfortable and spacious. There is a shared living room with a kitchen for preparing simple meals.

Review 27:Having to leave.

Review 28:The Suite was nice and spacious. There was a hob and cooking utensils. The views from the bedroom and sitting room were stunning. I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend this Hotel based on my experience.

Review 29:Kitchen could have an oven.

Review 30:Very good location. Short walk after disembarking from cruise. Good facilities. Underground carpark. Manager Charlotte is nice to give heads-up to check-in

Review 31:If arriving late make sure you email ahead to arrange key pick up from the bar as reception is not 24h.

Review 32:We saw the Northern Lights from the huge balcony! The suite was beautiful and spacious. The location was perfect with incredible views in every direction. The beds were ridiculously comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 33:Arriving on the Hurtigruten in the evening we left the following evening. We were keen to visit Lofoten in the summer, but were passing in Winter so thought we'd have a quick look at Svolvaer. Its jaw- dropping gorgeous and the apartment was lovely too, in a prime location. The owner agreed to rent it until the following evening and that was so much appreciated. He suggested a lovely walk for us and we have amazing photos. The staff were great, and checking in at the restaurant at 9pm was no bother as they knew we were coming and we didn't wait long. We can't wait to return in summer .To top it off we saw the northen lights on the Hurtigruten after we left.

Review 34:A little pricey but well worth it.

Review 35:The location of the Lofoten Suitehotel can't be beat in all of Norway or maybe the world. Could have stayed longer. Close to everything in town. Well the town isn't that big anyway. Highly recommend this place.

Review 36:Actually, they did not give us a room in the hotel itself, but in an appartment 500m away. This was OK, but they first debited our credit card, before telling us that we were actually not sleeping at the hotel itself.

Review 37:Quality of the room

Review 38:The wifi strength wasn't very strong. Kept cutting out.

Review 39:Great location, quirky design and sharing a kitchen turned out to be a good way to meet people.

Review 40:Clean. Modern. Able to meet other travelers. Viewed the norther lights from the hotel balcony.

Review 41:nothing, really.

Review 42:Service excellent. Nice apartment, clean and comfortable.

Review 43:Thanks to Kirsti, the manager for excellent service and advices.

Review 44:Parking cellar View

Review 45:poor wifi, cannot work well

Review 46:location, good view of Svolvaer, nice staff

Review 47:The location was fantastic. The suite was large and spacious with modern furniture!

Review 48:Balcony with stunning view of the harbour

Review 49:staff was not very knowledgable about area

Review 50:Couldn't have been better. Very close to ferry, beautiful location.

Review 51:the wifi is slow and sometimes didn't work

Review 52:The view from the suite was nice

Review 53:Price is high ; breakfast (not compulsory) is very expensive

Review 54:Very comfortable suite - spacious

Review 55:We didn't get to stay long enough

Review 56:Great location, very comfortable and friendly staff

Review 57:The view

Review 58:Great location, apartment is very clean and comfortable, fully equipped kitchen utensils

Review 59:I would have liked to see the sea from our room

Review 60:Being at the coast, near the sea and boats

Review 61:Free parking space wasn't included, so we had to pay for it.

Review 62:Great location, nice rooms. We had a sauna in our bathroom.

Review 63:Northern Europe style decoration Good view of harbor

Review 64:Huge windows

Review 65:Wifi worked only in the kitchen area.

Review 66:Everything

Review 67:No one available at reception when we arrived, had to find someone at the next door restaurant. The girl who then came seemed to have little idea about what was going on due to the internet having been down for some of the day. Was quite tempted to leave at this point, we had paid to have an apartment to ourselves as we really did not want to share but she was a bit vague about this. There was only one pillow each, at this price surely having 2 is not asking too much? Breakfast cost extra and was available in the restaurant adjoining. There was little choice and little service (had 3 different waitresses over the 3 mornings, the first was particularly unhelpful). The appartment was noisy overnight with music coming up from the bar below which went on until about 2am. When we left there was barely an aknowledgment for the receptionist, summed it up really.

Review 68:Loved the location, the views and the comfortable beds.

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:View over harbour to die for - nothing was too much trouble for the staff - the apartment itself was comfortable, modernistic, well furnished and had easily enough equipment for both snacks and meals.

Review 71:Fridge didn't work and was never fixed.

Review 72:Beautiful luxury appartments in a stunning and photogenic location at the harbour. Also added on secure underground car park.

Review 73:Wifi signal cuts out every now and then, usually only for a few seconds. Reception unattended even though we were checking in at a normal time. A bit expensive but you are paying for location and good apartment. No dishwasher or washing machine. Bathroom sink drained very, very slowly.

Review 74:Heated floors, clean, usually good wifi signal but cut out on New Year's Eve for over an hour. Excellent location on waterfront with views and right next to restaurants. Free parking nearby. Modern design

Review 75:Price (but in all fairness booket relatively late) No breakfast Strange arrangement of sauna (what's the pint?!?)

Review 76:Location receptionist knowledgable of local conditions Interesting concept but not requested Very clean and tidy

Review 77:They tried first to give us a room on the back, we asked for a change and there was a free bigger room on front of the sea at the same rate. No breakfast

Review 78:Rooms were modern and clean, with wonderful view if you had the room in front of the sea

Review 79:Parking is limited, but we used their underground parking, so it wasn't an issue.

Review 80:The Lofoten Suite Hotel was perfect for us, we loved the modern and spacious two bedroom apartment. Stayed on the fifth floor which had a gorgeous view of the water, mountains and marina. Very comfortable and perfect location.

Review 81:Breakfast has been served in the restaurant which is situated in the hotel building. On Sunday the breakfast has been served not before 9 o'clock. As we haven't been informed about that fact we have been thrown out as we came a quarter past 8. The breakfast buffet has had a small offer. The last day the breakfast has been served in the Thon Hotel, where the breakfast has been much better.

Review 82:We had a room on the third floor with a really great view over the harbour.

Review 83:Access to parking was by mobile phone to open the garage doors. It doesn't work with non-Norwegian phones.

Review 84:An excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff. Superb views form the suite facing the harbour.

Review 85:Did not get seawiew. Price level. after all it is a suite hotel with limited service.
