Reviews for Evora Inn Chiado Design

Review 1:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable room. Central location. Direct link to train and long distance bus station: "Linha Azul" busses stop directly in front of the building.

Review 2:The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They arranged an excellent guide for us to see the ancient stone monuments as they were fairly far from the town and we travel without a car. They had special breakfast foods for us as Vegans.

Review 3:Loud music on saturday night from pub at the end of road. Stale smell at entrance, probably from cleaning with clorine.

Review 4:Friendly staff. Very central. Very good breakfast.

Review 5:Too noisy Must change window because you could hear everything going on in the street.......very difficult to sleep.

Review 6:Central location Great and courteous staff Very nice room

Review 7:No elevator but not a serious reservation.

Review 8:Location just off the main square. Walking distance to all the sites in town. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Room and entire Inn was modern, clean and appealing. We had the room on the top floor with a veranda and great views of the city. Worth the extra few euros.

Review 9:It was very loud due to street noise. The bathroom is very small and we kept hitting our head on the water tank that was right next to the sink and toilet. We would suggest putting foam around the bottom of the tank to avoid hitting it.

Review 10:The location was good for getting around.

Review 11:Walking with suitcase on cobblestone hill from car parked outside town walls. Hard work. Also no elevator in hotel, so needed to climb 3 floors each day (but great view from 3rd floor!)

Review 12:Friendly , helpful staff. Communal breakfast to meet other guests. Great view of cathedral and medieval rooftops. Central location for the sights in Evora.

Review 13:Our room was on the first floor at the front and the proximity to the square meant there was quite a lot of noise late into the night. Not traffic, just happy and chatty people!

Review 14:Very centrally located with funky design in both the rooms and shared space. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 15:Location was superb! Staff were friendly and very attentive. The room was clean, enormous and quiet. I had left a jacket the hotel and they happily shipped it to me at no charge!

Review 16:The breakfast is rather lacking, just the basic stuff like coffee and fruit. We had to park the car at the car park, 10 minutes away, so Im not sure if it is comfortable for people travelling with a car. Our room was on the first floor and it was quite noisy at night.

Review 17:The room was very nice and modern, although the bathroom, especially the shower was rather small.

Review 18:location of hotel and room. the hotel is in the heart of the center. and it could get a bit noisy and crouded outside

Review 19:the staff was great. friendly. nice room

Review 20:The noise from bars and loud music was terrible on the first night I stayed but no problem on the second night because the noisiest bar was shut. No double glazing and traffic noise in the front rooms and bar noise in the back rooms. The bathroom was not overly clean and one of the shower doors was hanging off. No power points at a convenient level for any appliances. Had to crawl under a desk or pull out the bed to access them The breakfast was scanty and no tea bags for black tea... had to provide my own and pay full price!!. Reception and the breakfast room are u four flights of stairs so beware all who are not in the first flush of youth.

Review 21:I loved the location, the wifi was mostly ok, the bed was fine. Difficult access, but the owner carried my big bag up to the first floor..

Review 22:No parking! And no parking in the surrounding. Advice - leave your car outside the wall, there are plenty of free parking.

Review 23:The best location in Evora! Super friendly and helpful stuff. Atmosphere)))

Review 24:location & price very basic yet modern design effective sound proof though on top of lots of traffic in daytime and close to noisy main town square

Review 25:Nothing.

Review 26:Hotel was centrally located and about a 15 minute walk from the train station. Comfortable room with a modern design. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for the price.

Review 27:If I were too picky, I'd say that the design of the bathroom of our room was not very comfortable. But it's not the worst either.

Review 28:Very spacious double room, very well located, very clean, good AC, friendly staff, well priced. No real complains!

Review 29:tiny bathroom, sink is so small, it is almost impossible to wash your hands without touching the sink. Sink was leaking when we checked in.

Review 30:great value, central location, modern design, big room, accommodating staff,

Review 31:Difficult to navigate the streets since all streets are one way and no local parking unless you find street parking (which is all pay meters with in the old town every 4 hours). Public parking is free outside the city walls which is best near the aqueduct. The street noise can be somewhat disturbing at night if your not used to it and the beds are not too comfortable, but was tolerable in my opinion.

Review 32:This hotel was a great location just off the corner of Plaça Giraldo next to the Banco do Portugal and opposite of the Church of Santo Antão. It is very centrally located to all of the sites of interest as well as shopping and restaurants and was an excellent price. Very modern furnishings with a great view of Plaça Giraldo.

Review 33:A great spot high above the Praça do Giraldo, active by day and tranquil by night. Rooms are modern, clean, spacious, with super comfortable sleeping, and the host, friendly and accommodating.

Review 34:The hotel could suggest a possbility to take a local bus from a bus station to the hotel as the bus stop is just right in front of the hotel. Walking though is not too far but not convenient if you have luggage.

Review 35:Location & Super friendly staff

Review 36:There is a bit of noise at night from some of the lane ways where there are bars. It didn't bother me too much as I could sleep in if I wanted to. But the problem could be solved with selecting a room on the side facing the square.

Review 37:The Evora Inn Chiado Design is beautifully and tastefully fitted out and the staff are very warm and accommodating with everything from food to washing and advice about the local area.

Review 38:Shower room not well designed for space sink too large and boiler too easy to bump head on :( but not a show stopper:)

Review 39:Look and feel of room and great location and helpful people

Review 40:Just the noise from the AC and the room that was a bit cold but not a big deal.

Review 41:Location is excellent, the view from the terrace is just wonderful it worth the money. The decoration from the inside is really nice and modern.

Review 42:The wi-fi was really slowly.

Review 43:Almost everything. The staff was really kind and they recommended to us some tourist attractions with a map and free parking place in the city. They were flexible. The room and the bathroom was clean. The size of the room was comfortable. The inn has a perfect location, everything was close to it.

Review 44:Wi-fi in my room was too unstable

Review 45:People/Staff - all of the ladies were kind, helpful, and all around admirable. There was one (who's name I have sadly forgotten) who was extra special and I would stay here again just to get another morning hug from her. Location Breakfast Comfort Decor (room and public spaces) Views from the room

Review 46:small thing, but air in the plumbing caused some interesting noises after flushing the toilet.

Review 47:rooms are quite large and the decor is great. Location is about 5 yards off the entrance to the main square. staff are very helpful.

Review 48:Very near to the main square, this great decorated design house is a perfect stay for visiting Evora. The host and her team were very helpfull and accomodating.

Review 49:The room (Lucy in the sky with diamonds) was a bit smaller than we expected from other reviews.

Review 50:Evora Inn Chiado Design was a great base from which to explore Evora. Centrally located and with a very welcoming staff, we enjoyed our stay! The staff was very helpful in sorting out the delivery of our bikes (through a rental company) and our room (Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds) had a wonderful terrace!

Review 51:Rooms at the front of the building are on a main road - bus stop just beneath the window so could get really noisy. Earplugs really helped! Gave the breakfast a try on the first morning and had an odd and disconcerting exchange with a member of staff who harrassed me as she didn't hear me responding to her 'bom dia' (I had mumbled back 'morning' - just woken up...)... coffee was not good and was served cold after being microwaved - it seemed... but there is a delicious cafe just outside the door which opens at 8am and serves the most delicious coffee, cakes and sandwiches - so no need to have breakfast at the inn unless it improves! the shower was tiny and not modern - compared the the rest of the deco...

Review 52:Friendly, welcoming professional staff, good location.

Review 53:Lack of lift/elevator (considerable disadvantage for a hotel that occupies the 1st through 4th floors). Easy for backpackers, though.

Review 54:Staff was excellent, with the typical friendliness of the people of Alentejo. Hotel is located right in the heart of Évora and allows you to discover the town, rest and enjoy the warm summer nights with tranquility. Decoration of the hotel is very beautiful and truly worth checking.

Review 55:Our room looked out to the street, just off the square and it was very noisy all night, people enjoying themselves pleasantly, as well as some traffic. It was hard to sleep if you are used to quiet. Perhaps there are some off street rooms.

Review 56:The location is good for exploring the city on foot. There is good choice for food, and a great vegetarian cafeteria, thankfully. The landlady was very informative. The room was clean, comfortable and interesting.

Review 57:Crummy french "terrace". No fridge in room.

Review 58:Excellent location and good space at decent price. Good sound-proofing windows for the traffic and bus-stop outside. Good beds.

Review 59:There are three floors without lift.

Review 60:Confortable and cute bedroom in the center of Evora. Kind personal.

Review 61:Bathroom a bit too small.

Review 62:Great location. Very comfortable and stylish room. Great size.

Review 63:room was cold and hot water would run out quickly when taking showers. Room is also too small.

Review 64:hotel staff was friendly and helpful

Review 65:it can get noisy if students decide to scream at night when roaming the main square

Review 66:great location looking to the main square

Review 67:Apartments attractively out fitted with some quirky decoration and are located on town plaza. Proprietors were friendly and very helpful.

Review 68:all was fine

Review 69:everything

Review 70:Poor and very basic accommodation, no lift to the 4th floor

Review 71:Location, staff

Review 72:The bathroom is very small.

Review 73:Location ia great. A little difficult to find, but the posada is very cute.

Review 74:Friendly helpful hosts

Review 75:Small bathroom and shower cubicle No parking area

Review 76:Very centrally located , friendly and staff, Nice breakfast

Review 85:Helpful staff

Review 86:Shower space is tight.

Review 87:Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is next to the beautiful square in the center of Evora.

Review 88:Absence d'ascenseur.

Review 89:La situation et la gentillesse du personnel, d'abord et avant tout. La décoration des chambres et espaces communs.

Review 96:Not much to see in Evora.

Review 97:Good location. They upgraded us to a bigger suite because our TV didn't work.

Review 98:sewer smell throughout the building Noisy neighbors all night

Review 99:Lovely room, comfortable bed and great staff

Review 100:Hotel in a good location in the city center. Beautiful Design

Review 101:really helpful staff, great interior

Review 102:The friendly people running the place, so helpful and kind. Location is perfect. The best experience we had in our 2 week stay in Portugal.

Review 103:L'accueil et la gentillesse

Review 104:check in time was a minor issue

Review 105:location facilities staff design

Review 106:the bathroom

Review 107:the location

Review 108:Location, room, price, decor, friendly helpful staff

Review 109:Not a complaint about the hotel, but all the restaurants close at 10pm, we live in Spain and are used to going out later so couldn't find anywhere to eat in Evora after this time. A bar in the hotel would have been welcome.

Review 110:A lovely bijou boutique place to stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and even made us a complimentary cup of coffee when we came back worn out from our wanderings around the town.

Review 111:Hotel reception is on the 2nd floor. We booked a terrace room which was on the 4th floor - no elavator, so if you have full sized luggage you will really struggle. Entry from the room to the terrace is through a window (not a door), I bumped my head so many times having to duck and crouch. Don't be deceived by the "design" portion of their hotel name. Shower frame wasn't properly supported and when we showered, the bathroom floor flooded. Personally, I advise you stay somewhere else.

Review 112:Location is good, right near the main square.

Review 113:no lift, difficult with large luggage. expected something about design in room, but get just normal hotel room with some black drawings. City WERY turistic.

Review 114:very kind stuff, good localization if you are not travelling with car. we had also roof terrace

Review 115:- our bathroom wasn't very clean. There were a lot of hairs everywhere. There must really be an effort. The room himself was clean. - in the morning when we were having breakfast, - half an hour before the end of breakfast - a person started to clear everthing away from the breakfast while we were still eating. First it was very annoying and anymore confortable, secondly it was not very sympathic to put away bread, dishes...while we hadn't finished to eat

Review 116:The owner or "gérante" was very friendly an helpfull. She took a lot of time to explain us plenty things. Great hotel, extremly original. WOW absolutely design!!

Review 117:the hotel is NOTHING LIKE THE POSTED PICTURES. it was a total disapointment for me and my cousing. I could have booked a room with a nicer hotel for less. the room was sooo small. I want to send you pictures of the room we got and the entrance. I will send another email with the pictures.!

Review 118:- The terrible smell in the toilet. - The toilet needs to be renovated. - Too much design (or too many odd things) makes the hotel a mess!

Review 119:- The location in the city. - The tips for the restaurants given by the staff from the hotel.

Review 120:very small bathroom, stairs (for larger luggage to 3rd floor room)

Review 121:design, central location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, good-sized room (suite with living area)

Review 122:The bathroom was too small and the boiler for heating the water was on the wall and so placed that we hit our heads on it when rising from the toilet.

Review 123:The location and the decor

Review 124:Kind of hard to find (little sign on the street). Only recommended for young people: no elevator ;-)

Review 125:Nice little room. Two rooms on the top floor share one terrace. Very friendly staff provided lots of recommendations. Nicely designed, free WIFI. Located in the very centre of town.

Review 126:Our room had a supplementary bunk bed that took a lot of the space. The room was not totally renovated so bathroom was very old fashioned, and wardrobe non existing, just a door with nothing behind. But surely if the room had been finished it would be nice except for the bunk bed

Review 127:The location is perfect right in the center. The design idea is interesting and quite neat. Rooms seem to be all different. Staff very friendly. Price reasonable
