Reviews for Spicers Clovelly Estate

Review 1:Noisy room - old building so no soundproofing from upstairs. More like a motel than a five star hotel

Review 2:Service excellent except slow service for breakfasts Excellently cooked meals/ poor breakfast menu Outstanding Xmas dinner

Review 3:A la carte menu was probably too "artistic" for our tastes - would have been good to have other alternatives.

Review 4:Fabulous hotel with very friendly staff

Review 5:Pool not cleaned during our stay, room had a distinct odour that we couldn't place and unfortunately the dinner was disappointing. I personally like to be able to identify ingredients in meals as my taste buds devour them. Eating for me is also a visual experience. Personally I think they tried to hard to be too fancy.

Review 6:The staff are very friendly

Review 7:Being lied to repeatedly: we specifically booked a suite listing very specific amenities and never got it, when we discussed this, they gave us a number if excuses, and blamed booking.com but because we also have listings with booking.com I know the hotel has full control and was lying, which they admitted to when confronted. They told us they did not have Any rooms with a furnished balcony and views etc... that same afternoon we befriended a lady who told us all about her room with a furnished balcony and sunset view... We don't appreciate being lied to, but this is a very common trait with all the Australian hotels we have stayed in Staff attitude, especially at breakfast, lazy and grumpy, under-staffed... The fruit (left whole, not even peeled) and croissants are self-service but for 2 mornings no plates were supplied, much to the annoyance of surrounding guests. Dinner was very expensive and the "wine-tasting" seriously overpriced - 3 very small blocks of cheese between 2 people for 40$ and the 3 wines were nothing I'd recommend

Review 8:Be warned, it is far from the Sunshine Coast, in the mountains... That said, the drive to the estate is lovely, and the grounds are pleasant

Review 9:Spicers Clovelly is my favourite overnight blissful escape - the view from our beautifully decorated bedroom, the marble bathroom, breakfast On the front porch amidst the garden, the walk to waterfall and around the property, and dinner at the Long Apron all make for a relaxing and peaceful retreat from the busy normal life.

Review 10:I was disappointed to find that there wasn't a bath as mentioned on your web page. The bathroom was luxurious and impressive but I always try to book somewhere with a bath

Review 11:Everything was perfection.......the location the staff, facilities and restaurant

Review 12:We eloped at Clovelly Estate and returned to stay for our Wedding anniversary. Luxurious accommodation, glamouous hotel, exquisite dining, pure romance.

Review 13:Music could have been a little softer at dinner time. Could have had a little more variety at breakfast.

Review 14:No hiccups with bookings which was refreshing. Location, not to far out of Brisbane but far enough for this to be an adventure into the countryside. And yet close to the coastline. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable tasteful setting, not overstated. Setting for dinner was romantic with ambiance. Food (Dinner) was exquisite.

Review 15:The Long Apron restaurant was spectacular! A real treat for a special occasion. The place is beautiful and the service fantastic.
