Review 1：On the day when I was to check in, I called up reception and lady was very rude. One she was not able to retrieve my booking and was confusing my name with other guests accompanying me, secondly she was getting upset of that and talking rudely. Upon complain about couple of things, nothing was fixed i.e. light outside the main door. It was so dark outside, if you reach after sunset, very difficult to find your apartment in no light.

Review 3："Reception" did not actually exist - it was necessary to figure out everything without any person to talk to. Key left in envelope taped to door. Will try to find something else next time. To much cost for no service.

Review 6：The location is amazing. We had a waterfall just in front of our window and we could see glaciers on the top of the mountains around us (in august).
Review 7：If you want to eat your 'breakfast included', then this is not a good base for going onwards to Odda and doing a guided hike to Trolltunga. As we were meeting our guide in Skjeggedal at 09:00, and breakfast did not start until ~08:00 we had to miss out on breakfast, as there was not enough time to eat breakfast at the time it starts and make it to Skjeggedal to meet our guide on time!
Review 8：Decent enough self catered accomodation. Some of the staff were very helpful; we arrived very late in the evening and our keys, info and instructions were all organised to be left for us to pick up.
Review 9：A few of us experienced bed bugs' bites just after staying for 1 night. Cleanliness is the most disappointing thing for this accommodation.
Review 10：The apartment loft was really beautiful! It was much better than expected - it was fully equipped with a kitchen that has utensils, salt, pots (just no oil).
Review 11：The service is the only aspect that's lacking. We stayed at some ofNorway's top hotels elsewhere, and this was pricier than some - yetit was as if they left their (proverbial) teenage son in charge.You're provided your linens and must make and strip your own beds,along with cleaning, taking out the garbage, etc. I asked for an extratowel and was told "that's not my department". Thebreakfast was cold and the most disappointing of our 16 days in Norway,as was the meal we paid for the night before. This is fine at cut-rateprices, but we paid competitive hotel prices for hostel-type service -quite disappointing.
Review 12：Roldal is in a great position for travelers moving between the south ofNorway to Bergen and the west country (or vice versa). The hotel hascomfy beds, good self-catering facilities, is bright and clean, and isvery well appointed. The turf building allows you to enjoy an authenticbit of Norway and the views are to die for (waterfalls, mountains,verdant valleys).
Review 13：We stayed just for one night, it was not pleasent to make our beds for ourselves and take sheets off first thing next morning, didn't feel like hotel. We were given a wrong room first and we had to use time to solve this problem. Girl at the reception was nice and helpful though.

Review 17：Everything is very cheaply done here. Ryanair of accommodation. Cheaply furnished. No internet connection at the apartments (only the reception/cafe, which was far away from our place) No soap (when we asked the staff said that they don't put soap because the customers steal it! I've never heard such an argument from any hotel/apart accommodation - we had to buy it in the end). When we ask why the TV isn't working, she told us they hire the apartments from private people so it's not their responsibility if that person didn't pay for TV! What an argument for a facility that advertises TV among their facilities! Not her fault, of course. Some stingy, unprofessional people is running this place obviously

Review 19：Just a minor issue, the place was a little dusty and our mattress still had crumbs on it from the previous guest...which i dont really expect to see from a place that charges quite a lot of money to stay there - but easily rectifiable:))

Review 21：The reception closes about 9pm, so that means no free wifi as that'sthe only place free wifi is accessible. Dinner buffet finishes at about8:30pm which we thought was a little early. You can't charge to yourroom so you have to pay for each meal separately. Hot water ran outafter one shower leaving my two friends without hot water after a 22kmhike. The hotel offered no solution to this and advised to have a coldshower or wait until the morning. The cabin wasn't stocked with anyadditional toilet paper or any other essentials such as salt and pepper,body wash, dishwashing liquid and dishwasher detergent.
Review 22：We liked that the cabin was clean and modern and had a nice view fromthe balcony. It was great that there was free parking on site. We haddinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was fairly good.
Review 23：Location is a little far from attractions (over an hour to odda/trolltunga), no laundry facilities on site. Also the mattresses and bedding felt a little cheap and despite turning off both thermostats the apartment was incredibly hot all night.
Review 24：Cabins are big, reasonably priced and come equipped with a full kitchen. Views are also nice with great mountain scenery and a few waterfalls nearby.

On arrival, we had to sweep the floor so apparently not cleaned by cleaning crew after previous occupants didn't do it. Got to breakfast late. Not so good. No warmers in use by that time. Might be good if you make it earlier. Free Wifi only in lobby. No heater in second bedroom.

We booked asecond night while there, choosing a more expensive option by mistake.Gentleman at reception cancelled that and gave us a better option and nocancellation fee. There is a fantastic buffet offer for dinner (179nok), best value we found on our trip.

In the middle of nowhere if you're going there off season. Nothing to do around, no restaurant, etc. You have to go to downtown Roldal or Odda. Review 44：It's not in Røldal itself, but a six-seven minute drive up. Sits right on the bottom of the ski area. Very beautiful area (even in summer!) lots of walking. The decor is a little strange but ok. Bedrooms very simple.
Review 45：'Our' apartment (102) showed some disrepair: broken plug, kitchen extractor could not be switched off, sofa bed in living area half broken, curtain rod coming down. Wifi in common area only, which then closes early, so you remain outside. Even in June this may be a rather 'refreshing' experience in the Røldal area.

Review 47：Breakfast was a takeaway bag with some bread, cheese and turkey roll.Turkey was spoiled and I almost threw up when I took a bite. Nothing hot(except for the tea bag), toaster in my room didn't work, so wealmost didn't eat anything apart from couple of cheese sandwiches.It's not really a breakfast. Wifi works only in lobby and thatsquite understandable given the huge territory. The only problem was --we were visiting in june and we were car traveling through the wholecountry. Every evening we were dependent on booking our next hotel onwifi. At 8-9 in the evening lobby closed and we were left on the cold(+7) to sit outside and book our next night. No phones in the rooms andthey refused to let us use the phone on the reception, so wecouldn't confirm our booking next day. Staff wasn't at all niceand sometimes even rude. To be honest, I didn't like the stay and Iwas glad to leave. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
Review 48：Location is beautiful. If you have a car, nearest town is just 15minutes away with gas station and grocery store. The room is quite bigand there's everything you need for cooking and relaxing.

Review 64：The price might seem small at first, but when you add extra money for towels and bed linen (100 NOK per person) and cleaning (the do-it-yourself list is very long and challenging) you come out to something similar to any other place nearby.

Review 67：We booked it for a quick stopover of one night, as it was the only available accomodation in the area, and we found out on site that we would have to either pay a cleaning fee (which we did) or clean the apartment to a spotless condition (we got handed a detailed list which included water stains on the shower and there were no available cleaning materials in the apartment). Even though the cleaning fee is mentioned on the booking page, the conditions and the list of tasks should be made clear before booking. We would suggest that they do not allow or discourage booking for short stays as it is not the right accommodation, however we would definitely recommend it for a longer stay.
Review 68：The apartment was clean, well furnished and equipped. The location is about 10min drive from Røldal, the scenery was impressive.
Review 69：This can be a great place if you stay there for a week or more. But it is not a hotel. We stayed there for one night on our way from Stavanger to Bergen. Latest arrival time 18:00 h influenced our day's schedule. Then pay extra for bed linen since we did not bring our own. Rooms are very clean which is certainly nice but consider: Whatever you touch, you want to bring it back to the original state the next morning or pay an extra cleaning fee. In conclusion, value for money is good when you stay for a week or more but not for a one-night stay.

We had to way 9:30 to get a breakfast plate with 2 eggs, 2 tomatoes, 10 slices of cucumber, 3 slices of hamb (bad taste), 3 slices of cheese (no taste at all) and the best was the bread baked without salt...by the way, they were out of stock of...milk. What a great breakfast experience... We also had to clean the appartment when leaving (this was clearly written in the reservation) following a very complete and specific list saying that if we forget to do something in the cleaning list, they will invoice us... Finally, the linen and bath towels were invoiced 200NOK... The hotel is well situated to visit the region but I would definitely not recommend this place.
