Reviews for Cleythil Hotel

Review 1:The tap water was not drinkable although this was out of the control of the hotel as the water provider was carrying out repairs in the area. Still the hotel supplied mineral water in the room for brushing your teeth, which was great

Review 2:Beautiful and clean room Quiet environment Tasty breakfast, especially the bacon with red peppers

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:A relatively rural location necessitating a car. At last a shower that didn't require a climb into a bathtub. Good restaurant in the grounds although not open 7 days a week. Staff very pleasant and helpful although manager displayed some Basil Fawlty tendancies.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:We were there for one night on our way to France. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The room was good and the facilities were adequate. We like the fact that the hotel & surrounding buildings used to be barns and they changed the place into a beautiful hotel and restaurant.

Review 7:Breakfast was too early. The last morning we were just about to go down for breakfast at 8.45am when the man on reception rang the room to ask if we would be taking breakfast as all other guests had been for their breakfasts. Breakfast was just continental so what was the rush. Breakfast was supposed to be served till 9am. We just packed up and checked out.

Review 8:Nice clean hotel. Very comfortable

Review 9:Could have had more than one lot of milk in our room - two drinks with milk is realistic.

Review 10:The outlook from our bedroom window. The ready advice given at reception for things to see and do in the area. The excellent restaurant on site. Fab breakfast!

Review 11:Poorly serviced by public transport. Very good restaurant but expensive.

Review 12:Very well serviced by road network. Very good restaurant on site. Can hire bicycles to ride on surrounding cycling network.

Review 13:Our expectations were totally not met with this hotel. Despite requesting a double bed, we received twin, and nobody even tried to resolve this situation. Staff is something would expect from a large and cheap hotel - not caring about your experience at all. Neither bed nor the room overall was comfortable. I would recommend avoiding this place.

Review 14:This place is reasonably priced and is located within close reach of main touristic places (as every place we visited in Belgium so far).

Review 15:Next door restaurant was temporarily closed so there was no were to get food within walking distance. Still found some ok places within 10 mins drive.

Review 16:Rooms were incredibly comfortable and staff was very friendly. Very nice countryside stress free location to relax. Good wifi and free breakfast and parking.

Review 17:Hotel located at leisure and quite place, only 15mins drive to city. Facilities and room cleanliness are very good. We very enjoy to stay one night in this hotel.

Review 18:Unfortunately the WIFI signal in our room (Magritte) was non existant for the whole time we stayed. Despite reporting this immediatly and attempts made to rectify it, the matter was unresolved. Of course it worked well in the open lobby, but this was very much an inconvenience we could have done without.

Review 19:The rooms, which were named after Danish artists, were bright and airy and all with a view over the gardens. Splotlessly clean, comfortable bed, great bathroom facilities with hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, tea and coffee making and a very reasonably priced drinks fridge. Excellent breakfast buffet too!

Review 20:Too soft bed The hotel is located nearby a busy road (however the rooms are very well isolated from the noise)

Review 21:Very friendly stuff, nicely decorated room and bathroom, beautiful garden view from the room's window. Very clean! Good breakfast, not too wide selection of food, but very fresh and tasty

Review 22:The free wi-fi offered is slightly temperamental which could have been as a result of my room behind the furthest from the lobby! Persevere and you'll get it eventually!! This is not an adverse comment but take note of information re on-site restaurant - if possible, book meals well in advance especially if you are staying at the weekend. I didn't and they were fully booked.

Review 23:Marvellous location with ample parking -- excellent staff -- brilliant room with large, well-appointed bathroom -- extensive choices at breakfast.

Review 24:Nothing to dislike . Hotel management have thought of everything .

Review 25:Great room on ground floor , with view of the garden . Plenty of room and a comfortable bed . Tea/coffee making facilities . Would definitely stay here again .

Review 26:Just that on Booking.com it is listed with disabled facilities, which itdoes not have, although the staff were helpful and a larger room wasoffered which was ok.

Review 27:Helpful staff, quality fittings and décor, adjoining restaurant wasexcellent, well equipped rooms. Extensive breakfast, nice setting andquiet despite nearby road.

Review 28:Absolutely nothing!

Review 29:We liked everything about the hotel. It was well located, superbly clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly. Free on site parking is a great help & it even has a room mini bars at sensible prices. When visiting this location again it would be our first choice of hotel. Because of its rural location you will need a car to get out & about but that is a better than a noisy urban alternative.

Review 30:Charming place, comfortable rooms and commons spaces (lobby, bar, dining room). Good variety in breakfast and the restaurant next to the hotel offers excellent dishes.

Review 31:Great location, friendly staff, very comfortable room, fresh clean bathroom, great value for money and convenient location between bruges and ghent. Great breakfast

Review 32:The staff was absolutely lovely , room was amazing! The breakfast was included in the rooms price and I was expecting a basic morning meal . It was actually a big buffet with everything that you could imagine ! Brugge is only 25 minutes away by car and it's very easy to get there. If you want a quiet , romantic place, this is the one ! Wished I could have stayed longer ! Definitely will go back soon !

Review 33:You need a car to travel easily to Bruges and Ghent.

Review 34:Travel time to Bruges and Ghent: <30 min drive. Clean, nice hotel and friendly helpful staff. Lot cheaper then staying in one of the above cities and there probably isn't any better place value for money wise in the area.

Review 35:Everything. It's the most amazing hotel. Huge family room with very large double bed and stairs up to twin beds, family seating area ,TV and coffee/tea making facilities, espresso machine, stocked drinks fridge and beautiful toiletries and so many towels in bathroom for family of 4. Bath with jacuzzi and shower. Best night sleep ever. Owner couldn't do enough for us, so friendly. Breakfast next morning in a sun filled room overlooking beautiful countryside amazing.

Review 36:We arrived after check-in time (10pm) and even though the front desk staff had all left for the evening, a welcome letter with keys and directions to our room was left out for us. After a long day of driving, the soft cloud-like beds were just perfect and exactly what was needed. The breakfast was delicious! On top of the buffet style breakfast being served (fruits, meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, and yogurts) they were cooking up made to order fried eggs in the kitchen.

Review 37:This is not a criticism of the hotel as I discovered that the restaurant is actually a separate business but I arrived on a Sunday expecting to use the restaurant only to find it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. There is nothing nearby either. This wasn't clear on the Booking.com site

Review 38:room was of a good standard with tea/coffee making facilities and plenty of wardrobe space. The en-suite was very nicely finished and was well heated

Review 39:could be in a too quiet place for somebody

Review 40:a very nice quit location, comfort in the room - big shower - nice complimentary bath accessories - eccelent restaurant

Review 41:Quiet location, clean and modern small hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast so a small picnic was placed in our fridge the night before ! Excellent restaurant next door to hotel. About 30 mins drive from Bruges & Gent in a relaxing country location, would certainly return again.

Review 42:Had to pull curtains during the day when dressing and undressing.

Review 43:Everything. Location is brilliant, close to countryside and easy access for touring around. Staff very friendly, welcoming and efficient. When we return we will stay on a day when the restaurant is open so we get a full experience.

Review 44:The hotel, though located in a small village, is ideally situated between Knokke, Ghent and Brugge, allowing one to visit any of the three places in +/- 30 min. It's a nice building, modernly decorated in interior, with spacious, spotless rooms, excellent facilities. The breakfast can be served on the terrace, overlooking green fields. The quality of wi-fi was excellent in all locations (lobby, terrace, room). Wonderful experience in the Flemish countryside, definitely a place where we'll return in the future.

Review 45:Even though the prices of the menu's were somewhat expensive, the meal was perfectly prepared.

Review 46:Almost everything was very good. I have stayed in 100+ hotels for the last year, this was by far one of the best hotels I have slept in.

Review 47:Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, nice location, quiet surrounding.

Review 48:clean, spacious and quite room with nice view on the countryside. Nice breakfast

Review 49:The owner is gteat the brakeFest was good.

Review 50:Excellent location. Excellent restaurant.

Review 51:Nothing!

Review 52:Lovely location. Beautiful building with fantastic room and views. Staff were excellent.

Review 53:Location and helpfulness of staff

Review 54:Nice Environment Nice People

Review 55:Quiet location, friendly staff. They gave us a very good advice about parking at the train station and walking Brugge from there. Good brekfast.

Review 56:Quite sterile lacking atmosphere. No restaurant in the evening.

Review 57:Everything was just excellent.

Review 58:spacious bedroom,great settings+appetising breakfast friendly staff

Review 59:Beautiful country hotel near Brugge, Gent, Coast line. Nice next-door restaurant. Excellent service from the owners.

Review 60:Even though the staff was helpful during breakfast, they did seem to be more engaged with themselves than with the guests.

Review 61:Beautiful location.

Review 62:I did enjoy the whole stay, highly recommended on the way to/from Bruggie!

Review 63:Staff helpfulness; breakfast and room. All at a great price.

Review 64:Wonderful location between Ghent and Brugge.

Review 65:It was a little hard to find the sign could be bigger

Review 66:Lovely room, very comfy bed, very helpful staff, lovely breakfast

Review 67:What a lovely place, ideal for stopping before or after ferry. Great for parking.

Review 68:nothing

Review 69:- proximity to forest, fields and paddocks - proximity to Brugge, the sea and Gent - good breakfast - design of the hotel

Review 70:Nothing I can think of

Review 71:Excellent breakfast and hotel room

Review 72:no roomservice, no early breakfast possibilities, small room, many flies

Review 73:Everything was perfect. From the buffet breakfast to the cleanliness of the rooms and efficiency of the staff. Highly recommend!

Review 74:No evening meals available on Sunday or Monday really was a drawback. No fire drill posted in room. Lack of communication between Hotel and adjoining Restaurant. We asked at the hotel if it was OK to take our recently purchased bar drinks into the Restaurant, this was acknowledged as OK, but the Restaurant manager, refused us entry and told us we would have to finish the drinks before being allowed in!

Review 75:Spacious rooms, clean. Breakfast was great. WiFi available.

Review 76:Awesome barn conversion... just wish they could get a small gym set up. Great views of fields and cows. Great flat screen TV in a super awesome room! Great breakfast! Very helpful and friendly staff. Would love to stay again.

Review 77:A bit remote, especially as we had eaten at lunch and only wanted a small meal (nothing available on site), this would not put me off coming back though. Would have liked a bottle opener in the room.

Review 78:Little treasure of a hotel, brilliant attentive and helpful staff.Lovely welcome and room. Peaceful and will definitely return. Superb breakfast, quality accommodation, thoroughly recommend

Review 79:The owner create very pleasant environment. Excellent accommodations and facilities together With beautiful view and very good breakfast make This hotel a beautiful place to visit.

Review 80:Tea/coffee facilities were only sufficient for one cup.

Review 81:Quality and comfort of room, excellent breakfast, tea and coffee makingfacilities. Owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, gave us very detailed guidance and maps so that we could make the mostof our visit to the area.

Review 82:I found the staff a little brusque. The hotel appears to be geared towards the business user rather than weary travellers. The dogs were not particularly welcome. The owner requesting the floor be covered with blankets.

Review 83:A lovely hotel, clean efficient and comfortable hotel. The countryside surrounding the hotel is ideal for walking and running the dogs.

Review 84:The location in the country but within an easy drive to Bruges. Also the owner's excellent knowledge of Bruges allowed us to make the most of our visit.

Review 85:This hotel is for sure more then a 3 star hotel, rooms, location, facilities and breakfast can compete with many 5 stars hotels I am staying in regularly. Immense value for money.

Review 86:The panoramic windows are fully transparent from outside. Some light curtains might improve the comfort in the rooms.

Review 87:It was our second stay here. If you like panoramic view windows then take a room at the ground floor.

Review 88:Thé location between Brugge and gant is perfect, The stuff is very kindly and the hotel is designed in a modern shic. The room is excellent and very clean. Warmly recommended !

Review 89:Only one problem: the double bed came apart as it was in two parts and was joined in the middle.

Review 90:Very clean. Service was excellent. Breakfast had plenty of choice.

Review 91:Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room. Very good breakfast. Excellent location in a peaceful setting but near larger towns and cities. A relatively short drive from Dunkirk.

Review 92:Arriving late the hotel was deserted. No possibilities to relax at thebar. The bedcover: underneath the bedsheet lies a plasticmatrassprotectioncover. Perspiration is the result which givesuncomfortable nightrest. Please apply an extra bedsheet on top of theprotection

Review 93:The very nice designlike features inside the hotel and the room. Niceand clean facilities. Modern electrical equipment. The posibility, arriving late, to be able to purchase some wine and bread from theadjacent restaurant

Review 94:A bit isolated, not allways a bad thing but it would have been nice to have been within walking distance of a town centre.

Review 95:The hotel owner was very helpfull in planning our trips out providing us with maps and tips on parking etc:

Review 96:Lovely designed room modern and comfortable good quality beds and shower. Very friendly staff and good value. Would definitely recommend to others. Very good breakfast, free internet and parking.

Review 97:Shower temp fluctuating.

Review 98:Everything was fine. The only slight complaint was that the shower temperature fluctuated. Apart from that a great stay and the close by (50 mtrs) restaurant was fabulous.

Review 99:No internet connection, although we were given PW. Shower head was broken, so we have to hold hose by hand to use hot water. Coffee machine was broken in the room. Sauna was not working. We could not ask staff to help any of those problem, because no hotel staff between 21pm to 8am. If we knew, there are no staff at night, and we could not check out before 8am, we would not choose this hotel to stay. And NO apologize from hotel when we complained at check out, NO discount either.

Review 100:Clean, stylish hotel.

Review 101:The restaurant next door needs to be booked in advance and may be alittle bit pricey for a family with children.

Review 102:We stayed in a family apartment on two levels. The rooms were verymodern with a luxury feel, with a large tv and coffee/tea makingfacilities. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast absolutely fantasticand included in the price. The views of surrounding fields with grazingcattle are very calming. The hotel seems to be tastefully converted froma farm and there are meadows and trees all around. We had a veryrelaxing stay. The lady who was in charge on the morning of ourdeparture was very nice and helpful. Many thanks.

Review 103:The hotel is quite close to the main road which is a quite busy road, so there is a bit of noise.

Review 104:Very nice hotel. Great quality and lovely designed room with plenty of space. Great aircon system, great quality beds and great shower. Great friendly service and good value for the price. Would definitely recommend to others.

Review 105:All good.

Review 106:Excellent location, delightful surroundings, well thought-out design, clean comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast, fabulous restaurant nearby.

Review 107:I often work just outside Gent but refuse to drive in the city as it so busy and I keep getting lost. I tried this hotel because it is quite near to where I work but in the opposite direction to Gent, and I really enjoyed my stay. I will add this to my list of favourtites.

Review 108:Liked everything!

Review 109:Modern facilities in a very old setting. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Convenient to Maldegem and other surrounding towns. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Review 110:We've stayed here before on our way from Amsterdam to the Channel tunnel to break up the journey and also because the adjacent restaurant is supurb, the hotel has very comfortable rooms, the breakfast is good as is the service and in all there is value for money here. J. Starling

Review 111:friendly and delightful hotel; would not hesitate to recommend

Review 112:- Fan in Bathroom didn`stop - plastic cove on matrass not convinient

Review 113:mixed ancient - modern style and tmosphere.
