Reviews for Mid City Hotel

Review 1:The only downside to the pool is that only 2 of the chairs are in the sun. For some this may not be an issue at all, especially if you have a balcony but i always like having the option. There food prices are a bit pricey for Cambodia but to be expected for the hotel. Just take a walk near pub street and there is a lot of restaurants that are good quality and cheap prices. If you turn right from the hotel and cross the road keep going straight and go to Red Restaurant we went there everyday as they were so nice and the prices were so cheap and the food was awesome!

Review 2:I really liked the rooms to this hotel, they were very clean and had a modern feel to them. The beds were so comfortable, which is a big plus when your traveling. The staff was very helpful when you needed something and were very nice. The location is a huge plus, you are right by pub street and the main action but not close enough to hear all of the noise. Everything is within walking distance so you dont have to worry about tuk tuk's. The buffet breakfast was really good, and there coffee was really nice. It was a plus that they had a pool, its nice to take a dip after visiting the temples.

Review 3:Prices policy - tuk tuk service is rather expensive, it is easy to find something much cheaper in the city. Arranging taxi from the aiport is more expensive then doing it by yourself. Additionally, not so reliable - I agreed the transfer, was looking for a driver for a long time on the aiport and finally, as I couldn't even contact the hotel, I took taxi by myself. It occured that taxi driver showed up and left without waiting, hotel didn't pass me any information about it. I asked for laundry - price was X when I agreed it and X + 50% when I received it back. Not big money, but irritating as there was a couple of such cases.

Review 4:Hotel is close to the city (walking distance, short walk), but it is not in the noisy city center, the area is rather quiet. I asked for a quiet room and I received it (thank you). Room is quite big and comfortable, breakfest is tasty. Swimming pool is nice after the intensive day.

Review 5:We stayed a couple of nights in Mid City Hotel and I would love to say that everything was perfect because of its friendly and welcomimg staff, but it wasn't. Although the place was nice and so were the employees, we had too many problems during our short stay. Firstly, we had problems with the pick-up service, it's true that there was a misunderstanding between the hotel and the driver who took us to Siem Reap and we had to wait for the driver to come to the correct bus station (but we weren't supposed to wait almost 2h and when he came he apologised for oversleepping). Moreover, on our way to the hotel, the driver took us first to the wrong hotel and we were almost hit by a car. Anyway, we arrived at the hotel with high relax expectations, but it didn't take much time to bring our expectations down. There is a building in construction next to the pool and, during the night, our room turned into a night club because of the loud music played in the club in front of the rooms on the right side (pair numbers). We hadn't enough with this that we were devorated by the mosquitos in the room. So, we couldn't sleep well neither the first night nor the second one. To finish with our nice Christmas present story, we have one last anecdote. We just had one day to visit Angkor Wat and we wanted to go early in the morning, so we gave some notice to the receptionist in order to have our breakfast (included in the room price) prepared for the next morning, so he wrote a note with the room number, the number of people and the time we were leaving. Of course, when we went downstairs at 5am nobody had received a note and our breakfast wasn't there. We made a complaint and finally we received the dinner for free as a compensation. Maybe it was just that we were unlucky and it is really a good hotel to stay in, because, as I said, the employees were really friendly and the rooms look nice.

Review 6:Welcoming staff, nice and clean room.

Review 7:Room oppressive. The window faced the lift area where the laundry was sorted, so early noise from staff. The building next to it had a rooftop karaoke bar that was noisy until 2 am.

Review 8:Staff friendly and helpful

Review 9:Could do with black out curtains as sunlight really gets through and as you can't keep air con on room is v hot when you come back of an evening. Breakfast wasn't fantastic all the western food we tried was always cold but it was free so we ate it

Review 10:Then reception were very good when we arrived at 10pm, offered a nice cold drink and wet towel to freshener up. They also picked us up by tuc tuc at the airport free of charge. The room was spacious with free tea and coffee and 2 bottles of water daily. Was a tad noisy but just bring some ear plugs! It's so close to many good restaurants and 5 minute walk to pub street. We also did the tours with the hotel which were cheap

Review 11:Location was within walking distance to the night market, pub street and old market. Staffs were friendly. Breakfast prepared was very homely. Thanks to Mr Hat for arranging the day tour to Angkor Wat. Mr Kuang and Mr Noi, both the drivers were very helpful, informative and efficient.

Review 12:No bad experience but expecting to have a surprise gift from the hotel during my stay on their Hotel when I celebrated my Birthday during our stay in the Hotel. Which other hotels have to their customer when one of their customers have Birthdays. I'm suggesting to have this to your hotel. May be added points from the customers to your Hotel.

Review 13:The staff were so friendly and always asking if we were enjoying our stay. Buffet breakfast was good and a lot of choice. Free airport pick up and drop off was great. Close to night market and main street just walking distance. We had a wonderful stay at Mid City Hotel. If I go back to Siem Reap will stay again to Mid City Hotel. Highly recommend.

Review 14:The Staff are excellent, and the hotel is fantastically clean, and friendly. The Pool is excellent, and again the staff are really friendly and attentive. Views are amazing over the Siem Reap City.

Review 15:Two out of four pillow cases were not changed after the previous guests. There were 3-4 stains on the bedsheets. I had to wait for a very long time to get hot water, 20 minutes or so, and still, it was not hot enough to take a bath, just to take a shower.

Review 16:Staff were nice, location was good, the price was also ok.

Review 17:Friendly, helpful staff, cleanliness of the room, grounds and reception area. Nicely prepared buffet breakfast and outstanding dinner. We hated to leave, the staff made us feel like family. We would stay here again and would recommend to others.

Review 18:We had the most incredible trip and loved staying at the Mid City Hotel. Because it was the low season, the hotel was quiet and clean. We especially loved the pool! The staff was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. We would stay here again!

Review 19:This hotel was in an ideal location.. closed enough to the main tourists destinations. It was clean and comfortable and definitely worth every penny!! The staff were helpful and ensured they did everything to carter our need.

Review 20:It's a very tourist friendly hotel. Loved the facilities, nothing extraordinarily fancy but very clean comfortable environment. Close to Angkor Night market, so conveniently located near ATM, restaurants and bars...but quiet at night. Will definitely recommend to travellers who want to visit Siem Reap.

Review 21:Excellent stay with Mid City hotel. Very efficient, caring staff who couldn't do enough to help. Spacious room with beautiful decoration, great food and great service. Excellent value for money.

Review 22:This hostel is very comfortable. The location is lovely and quiet, just a short walk to the market from the main town, markets and Pub Street. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was quite cheap and a lot of amenities, free tea or coffee maker, and daily complimentary water. Buffet breakfast was tasty and lot of choice. Free airport pick up and drop off was great. We had a wonderful stay at Mid City boutique Hotel.

Review 23:The staff were so friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable. The location to centre of town was good and the transfers to airport worked well. Lovely pool area and overall is great for price.

Review 24:A great place to stay. Rooms are clean and relatively quiet with plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby. Pool is saltwater and awesome for laps, if no one else is in it. Staff very attentive and friendly. Free airport pick up and drop off was great. Overall was great value for money.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:The staff was extremely friendly and always helpful! Service quality was great and i can highly recommend this hotel. If i go back to Siem Reap this is my place to stay!

Review 27:Amazing staff! They are very polite. The room as well the pool is very clean. Free pick up from airport, short distance with Pub Street and sight seeing. Definetely recommend.

Review 28:Comfortable nice cosy hotel at a walking distance to downtown

Review 29:Camfortable nice boutique hotel with spacious and clean room. Location wonderful, management and staff always attentive. Overall is the best place to stay in Cambodia so far.

Review 30:Breakfast really bad - bugs and flies all over the jams Room full of wild life! In our short stay we had 2 geckos, loads of mosquitoes, an enormous spider and a cricket! The hotel is open to the outdoors downstairs and windows are left open upstairs so the halls are full of noisy geckos at night There was even a spiders web across the doors of the lift - lucky we didnt walk into it! The road to the hotel is not nice to walk Staff quite pushy about tours

Review 31:Opposite a really nice - if a little expensive French restaurant Only 5 min tuk tuk to pub street - could walk in 15 but in the heat? Pool is salt water and no body ever in it

Review 32:Dirty pool, poor cleaning, very bad breakfast and flies everywhere, no real atmosphere

Review 33:Large family room, very friendly staff, good wifi, hot shower, quiet location

Review 34:Air con in our room was under powered and took ages to cool the room but our friend in another room was too cold. Our only room window faced the lift waiting area so we always had to have the light on. We noticed one lady looking through while we were inside the room one afternoon as the curtains did not cover well on either side. Low hot water pressure on top floor but made do.

Review 35:The friendly staff, the great pool area, the street it was located on, the price $18 a night for a twin room, the farewell scarves they gave us, prompt response by staff to any issues we had with our room, free airport pick up by tuk tuk.

Review 36:Outstanding service. Stunning pool. Great room with shower, bath, fridge & cable TV. Very helpful with tours. Good location. very clean, Good atmosphere. Good breakfast & comfortable beds. $1 tuk tuk to the Night Market & Pub Street which are awesome.

Review 37:The breakfasts were definitely very average and the pool had an unusual smell.

Review 38:We found this to be ok for the price we paid. The staff were friendly and always asking if we were enjoying our stay. The room was clean and spacious but maybe needed a bit of a spruce up.

Review 39:We enjoy our stay very much. The staff were excellent, very attentive and happy to help wherever they could. We had free pick up from airport and return with tuc tuc and it was great. The tuc tuc driver offer us a good price for 15$ whole day for around the small circle tours. The room were very spacious, clean and good hot water. Overalls it was great value for momey.

Review 40:The breakfast was okay, just some food not fully fresh like the cereal,n it was not prepared for our last day cause we had early flight. ..

Review 41:The location is great, near the pub street, not so near that it will get noisy for u to sleep, but near enough for u to enjoy the comfort of sleep and the nightlife of siem reap.reap . staff very friendly, funny and helpful.helpful .I like them n miss them n hopefully will come back again to see them around lol! Cleanliness is good n facilities are awesome.definitely will choose this hotel if I come again.choem ran n noi thank you!

Review 42:Aircon in our room was not cold even if it was at its coolest temperature

Review 43:Helpful and efficient staff: took care of everything we needed from booking tours, hiring tuktuk drivers and doing our laundry for reasonable prices

Review 44:- Bad breakfast, but it doesn't include into the hotel price, so no need to take it - Thin walls, so you are able to hear people outside the room - swimming pool is very chlorinated

Review 45:- Place, near pub street - Quite clean

Review 46:After being out for the day we came back to our room, which had been cleaned by housekeeping, to find a large poo waiting in the toilet for us. I thought I would just flush it and forget it ever happened but then it blocked the toilet and I had to call reception to get someone to fix it. Later in the day I then found that someone had opened my bottle of coke from the fridge and drank some. If I went back I would ask for my room not to be cleaned.

Review 47:The staff are super friendly and the location is great. We chose a balcony room which overlooked the pool. Don't bother with a balcony room unless it overlooks the pool otherwise you will be looking at a brick wall.

Review 48:The breakfast could be better as not a great western selection.

Review 49:Very clean hotel with friendly staff and in a great location near to all of the action of pub street and restaurants.

Review 50:Not quite as mid-city as the name suggests, but maybe a 10 minute walk away. Air-con was taking a long time to cool the room down.

Review 51:Very nice staff which was helpful in organising tours. Free airport pickup. Large rooms, nicely decorated.

Review 52:Everything... Staff were great, bed is comfy, room is nice. Great value for money. Especially liked it's location; a little way away from the hullabaloo of pub street but still walking distance from everything that you need/want.

Review 53:DO NOT take the boat from Siem Reap to Phnom Phen it is overbooked, unorganized - very dangerous. The hotel does not warn you about this, just sells you the tickets...

Review 54:It was probably the best place to stay in our trip through SE Asia - nice staff, good breakfast, close to everything :)

Review 55:Wifi was good at times, but inconsistent, however that's not too different from elsewhere in that part of SE Asia.

Review 56:Staff, location and facilities were fantastic. Very impressed with its overall value for money.

Review 57:While our staying there was a problem with the hotel wi-fi which was uncomftroble, the problem didn't fix even in the next day. And they say that a ride to and from the airport suppoae to be free but they want to charve us at first until we showed them what is written on booking.

Review 58:Really nice room and the facilities were in a really good condition, the staff was helpful and even didn't charge us for a ride to the airport even thogh it says ao on BOoking they said it suppose to cosf us 6$ in the end they give it to us for free.

Review 59:Only issue was that we had to have the hotel staff spray the room for Mosquitos a few times.

Review 60:Hotel staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Was within walking distance to pub street and near a lot of great restaurants. Rooms were comfortable and spacious.

Review 61:The breakfast was quite average, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby that offer cheap breakfasts. We only really had breakfast at the hotel when we were going on day trips and didn't have much time to go elsewhere.

Review 62:We loved the helpful and friendly staff, especially the hotel's tuk tuk driver Mr Ngoy-he was funny and helpful and all round amazing, as were all the staff. The room was comfortable, clean, with attentive cleaning staff and the wifi was the best we have experienced in Cambodia and Vietnam. Great value for money, quality hotel. Very close to everything.

Review 63:Poor cleaning in the bathroom. Sewage problems resulting in constant bad smell in the bathroom.

Review 64:Nice boutique hotel, good quality furniture & decoration. Very clean but small pool. Good location, 15 min walk to the bars street. Good breakfast by Cambodian standards (rice, noodles, vegetables with meet, boiled eggs & some slices of omelette). Friendly staff. They changed our room as we complained about the noise made by the boiler.

Review 65:There is a stench that sometimes you will encounter in the bathroom despite it being clean. I think hotel management should check again their plumbing system while it is new.

Review 66:Staff are very helpful. Hotel is new and clean. I enjoyed the bath tub and hot shower after a long day walk. Breakfast buffet has good food choices.

Review 67:Very nice and helpful staff speaking english. Rooms and swimming pool area are very clean. Good and big breakfast. 5 minutes walk to Pub Street. PERFECT PLACE!!!

Review 68:hotel is right next to something VERY noisy - don't know if it is karaoke, a nightclub or a casino. In any case, bring earplugs.

Review 69:staff very helpful in organisingh tours, pickups and tickets. Nice pool.

Review 70:The water in the shower area did not run off well so one got wet feed going to the toilet, I was offered a different room but did not take up the offer the next day. did not like the staff sweeping the floor during breakfast session.

Review 71:value for money in a location close to entertainment, eateries etc. Room was clean with customary coffee making facilities, safe, some furniture even a wardrobe. I like the firm and even bed, though it could only be entered from the foot end. Good shower and separate bath tub, good breakfast with fruit and local cuisine, toast, juice, coffee tea. I arrived very late (1 am) and found the front desk manned.

Review 72:Pool a bit to cold, only relax for a quick refreshing dive. But this is the same in many hotels in cambodia. Breakfast is oke, not very western

Review 73:Great shower! Good central location, friendly staff, spacious rooms. Recommend it.

Review 74:Next building to the hotel is the night club with karaoke. We arrived late at night in Friday and our windows were looking the night club The karaoke (awfully performed, by the way) were till the early morning 4 a.m. The windows were shut but it seemed as if they were opened. But to tell the truth next night was much more quiet. The shower towels were not clean

Review 75:Good location, five minutes walk to the night market and Pub street, helpfull staff

Review 76:staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, nice big pool, breakfast khmer and western buffet, location quiet yet still within 10 min walking distance of pub street, old market etc.

Review 77:Rooms could be cleaned better. You always need to ask for something twice, but I guess this is how it works in Cambodia in general. In general was just fine.

Review 78:Very nice place close to the city center. Nice pool and hotel in general. I believe that every room has its own balcony or at lease terrace (ground floor). I would definitely stay there once again.

Review 79:During my stay the room was not properly cleaned. The first time the room was not cleaned at all despite the sign at the door. The second time the beds were made, but the bathroom (especially the toilet) was not cleaned at all! That also did not change even though we stayed for 5 nights- the cleaning was a desaster.

Review 80:If you want to go to downtown at night, the road is very dark, there is very little illumination and may it look dangerous, but actually it was really quite. The road is narrow and you need to be careful not to be hit by a car or bike.

Review 81:The hotel is about 5mins from the city center and the room was perfect enough for what we needed, air conditining, confortable beds and good wifi. They also have free ride service from/to the airport. There is a pool but we didn't have time to use it. The breakfast buffet was great, sausage, eggs, ham, cereal, milk, coffee, juice, fried rice, fried noodles, pancakes, french fries... everything tasted good. There are a couple of markets very close to the hotel The staff was really helpful and friendly, really great and nice people. Our check in date was delayed by 1 day because our flight got cancelled and they were very gentle to move the reservation dates. Thanks you very much for that.

Review 82:Breakfast was a buffet but not many western options. Food was cold or lukewarm. Coffee was very strong and not hot.

Review 83:Location - short walk to the main markets and restaurants. Room was spacious and very clean. Air con was good balcony was nice but very small and overlooked the next building which was very close

Review 84:Hotel restaurant food not recommended No hot water for duration of stay Brochure states spa on the premises (now closed )

Review 85:Its location across the street from a very good French restaurant (L'Annexe) Pool a bit small but still a nice touch Good wi-fi Friendly staff Excellent satellite TV Souvenir Cambodian gifts offered on departure

Review 86:Room wasn't cleaned - had to ask after 3 days On check out staff could not work credit card machine, they walked away and hid and left us at reception Plenty of choice about, would look elsewhere

Review 87:Location Pool

Review 88:We liked everything!!

Review 89:Lovely hotel. Staff were extremely helpful! Hotel it's self was very very very clean and the rooms were a great size! Bathroom was spotless, and location was perfect!! Would sure stay there again!!

Review 90:Located next to the local disco club, loud music every night. Solar heating, no hot water on a cloudy day.

Review 91:Very friendly and helpfull staff. Great location, just few minutes by walk from the old market and pubs area.

Review 92:Need to upgrade more service

Review 93:The room are sample decorated, clean and comfortable. Location is perfect & very near to all the bars area, which is I love it. I arranged the Tuc Tuc to Angkor Wat with them and costed me only 15$ for 2people. Staff are friendly and kindness people. Recommend this place to all people who looking for good holiday in Siem Reap.

Review 94:It was lovely place! I booked only one night. And I decide to stay there longer and I requested to upgrade the room with pool view and they offered very good deal, the room very nice and clean. The location is great only to 2 minutes to all the bars a surrounding the hotel. Good value for your money. I will recommend this hotel to everyone looking for a great Holliday in Siem Reap.

Review 95:We enjoy our stay very much the hotel well located and the staff were absolutely lovely! The pool and our room were great, we love it! Just a short walk to Pub Street which is amazing fun at night!

Review 96:Towel is not good quality, it is faded

Review 99:room is great, cleaness location

Review 100:Nice

Review 101:Friendly staff, clean pool.
