Reviews for Monte Da Serralheira

Review 1:It's not the cheapest option, but all in all we found it still offers good value for money.

Review 2:I like the location, offering country side calm while still being near the city center (if you have a car); the swimming pool; and the welcoming and helpful attitude of the owners.

Review 3:The appartments should be renovated, with new furnishings and new beds

Review 4:Family with 2 children (5 y.o., 22 months old). Very nice quinta, very quiet, well-located near Evora, the owners are very nice, nice garden and nice swimming pool, private terrace for each appartment, easy to prepare lunch and diner.

Review 5:The swimming pool is very confortable and the garden is spacious, there is a lot of space for all! Lucy and George, the owners, are very willing and helpful.

Review 6:Very attentive owners helpful with advice about local sights & restaurants. Blazing wood burning fires. We'll equipped kitchen, would definitely stay again & spend more time in Evora.

Review 7:The wasps by the pool Price is too high for facilities, especially considering that breakfast is 8e per person extra

Review 8:Spacious rooms and very quiet. Nice patio to take breakfast in the morning or glass of wine in the evening. Close enough to Évora, only 5 minutes by car.

Review 10:Standard welcoming and poor beddings

Review 11:Monte Da Serralheira is a great base for visiting this area of Portugal. The farm is only just outside the town of Evora and taxis are available if you want to visit at night. Lucia & Georges farm is just beautiful and the accom. is just fab. very comfortable and cool also, There is a lovely swimming pool. We would def. recommend and would love to return some day soon

Review 12:The friendly hosts. The beautiful rural setting. Staying in the lovely old, cosy building. The warm fire was a delight and it was always lit for us before we got home in the evening

Review 13:The price was a little bit high considering that, according to the cars parked outside, only a few rooms were booked

Review 14:Great location. The apartment was well furnished with a wonderful fire-place. The staff was very friendly

Review 15:A little to many insects... we even had ants in the wash basin, which the kids did NOT approve. The breakfast was overpriced.

Review 16:Nice rooms and a relaxed place. The couple that runs the place were helpful.

Review 17:Prevalence of privet shrubs in flower. Got reallybad hay fever whilst staying there.Plant is a noxious weed in NZ.

Review 18:Being out in the countryside but close to town for supermarkets etc. Presence of a swimmingpool

Review 19:Being out of the city was very refreshing. You do need a car. An easy drive to town once you know the way! The hosts friendly and pool and garden setting just great. Could easily stay for extended holiday and see many sights around the area.

Review 20:This place is a working farm. It provides appartments with kitchen facilities, and is suitable for extended stays. One can dip in the pool, laze on the patio, and dine outside or inside. George and Lucia are super friendly and helpful Highly redommended!

Review 21:You only find out that breakfast is not included once you have made the reservation. I'd like to have that clear before making a decision. The bedrooms and bathrooms felt very cold the first day. The place itself is not a 10 minute walk from the train station, as you read on the webpage, but farther away from the city.

Review 22:The staff is wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. It is quiet and has a good cuarto de jogos for families that could be better lit. It has a nice garden

Review 23:Need car to get in and out to Evora but can park for free, only 3 kmaway.Could bike it but not in rain we had. Tv only has Portuguese andSpanish channels.

Review 24:Friendly, good wood stove which we needed this March, never stoppedraining for long....Free wood. Was warm enough with back up heating ifneeded. Comfortable beds, nice furniture decorated with flowers .Checked with us every day if needed anything.Took towels away to dryas nothing drying.Good frying pan, food not stick to it..Flowers etcin garden.

Review 25:The road leading to the hotel was potholed and our car struggled with it and it was a long way off the beaten track and quite difficult to find. Bathroom was freezing in winter conditions.

Review 26:Although the weather was dreadful and they had been battered by very high winds making the rooms very cold, they did everything they could including putting portable radiators on in the bedroom and starting a log fire in the main room and were very amenable.

Review 27:Small double bed - but still very comfortable!

Review 28:Absolutely lovely hosts. Great place for a break and for seeing Evora. Very sweet 2 bed, 2 bath little house. Lovely grounds. Well equipped kitchen.

Review 29:We were charged €30 for an extra bed for 2 nights which I was surprisedabout. I felt it was steep, and actually we could have managed withoutit if I had known about the cost.

Review 30:Lovely welcome with a jug of homemade lemonade on arrival, and veryfriendly and approachable owners. Nice pool area. Good location forexploring Evora which is worth a visit- very pretty town with beautifulcathedral and streets to explore. Everything very reasonably pricedcompared to the Algarve.

Review 31:The dust from the dirt road, it was hard to find the place, few signs.

Review 32:The garden was nice, pool refreshing, peaceful environment, kind owner's dogs, close to the walled city!

Review 33:No bad comments at all. Everything was ok.

Review 34:Rooms were clean; Pool was good and clean; Owner Luisa was helpful and recommend to us wineries for our further travel; thanks to Luisa!! We rent two bedroom apartments with spacious comfortable living room area; shower was comfortable for each bedroom separately.

Review 35:Very friendly and helpful owners.THE LOCATION BEYOND KMS OF INDUSTRIAL ESTATES IS A BIT SURREAL - BUT THIS MEANS IT IS NEAR TO TOWN AND ON THE EDGE OF SOME WONDERFUL COUNTRYSIDE (TO THE SOUTH). VERY COSY WITH WOOD BURNING STOVE - WELL EQUIPED ( IF A LITTLE OLD FASHIONED).

Review 36:It is a great sensation when it is chilling 1ºc outside, and you firstenter your apartment and the fireplace is on and the room warm towelcome you. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. The sleepquality is magnificent, you will not hear a thing. The perfect place torelax. The only thing that could be improved is the light blocking fromthe shutters (a lot of light does pass...). But this is only on the"could be improved" suggestions section.

Review 37:rural and peaceful. very helpful staff
