Reviews for Hotell Fängelset

Review 1:The most supraising thig was that the hotel is located in an old, closed prison. But it could be considered as an advance for staying in this kind of place.

Review 2:Very very very small and noisy room for the price you pay. Staff seems uninterested. All requests were not honored (doublé bed, second floor). We were awoken by other guests who also had a key to our room. So unfortunately we had a bad experience with this hotel.

Review 3:Beautifull old building in the original style and accents.

Review 4:The atmosphere and the surroundings gives you an idea of what it would be like to be a prisoner some 15 years ago. Nice new bathroom and the place is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful

Review 5:I can not found any bad thing to say.

Review 6:I chose hotel Fängelset first because I thought it was a great idea to turn an old prison into a hotel. Then I found out that the price was also OK. The bedroom was very comfortable, with an excellent shower and very good food at breakfast. The hotel's staff was extremely nice and did their best to attend our demands.

Review 7:We were a family of five. I skip the fact that the first room wereceived was really inappropriate, the second room was ok. The breakfastis very basic, the service level is a minima. Our second room was nevercleaned during our stay despite our claim. We were also disappointedthat the originality of the venue does not give way to other creativeideas around the concept. All is basic, there is the prison-hotel andthat's it. All in all I reckon the price of the stay is veryexpensive with respect to the service provision level.

Review 8:The hotel is well located, at walking distance from the city centre, andthere are not many hotels in Västervik. The cells transformed in singlebedrooms looked original. We arrived quite late, the reception wasclosed (it closes quite early) but after a phone call a friendly staffshowed up to welcome us.

Review 9:Wifi is very poor, breakastbuffet very small

Review 10:In an old prison, great experience, very clean, cosy aisle, great backyard with loungechairs, inhouse brewery with great beers

Review 11:The beds are a bit narrow and the rooms rather small but we only stayed for one night so it didn't matter

Review 12:This place is a former prison, it is quite romantic and just 20 meters away from the bus stop and a burger restaurant. There are no other buildings around so it is pretty silent and not dangerous at all. Good breakfast.

Review 13:Very noisy interior. Smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. No power outlet on my room to charge my. No way to adjust the temperature in my room.

Review 14:Great location, right in front of the train station. Cool concept inside of an old prison.

Review 15:the coldness of the place & people

Review 16:nothing in particular but great location

Review 17:Excellent location, secure parking, unique athmosphere.

Review 18:Rooms are small

Review 19:Staying in jail is a unique experience.

Review 20:The central corridor of the building causes groups of youth to awaken the whole hall.

Review 21:A real prison reconverted into hotel

Review 22:location, price, style

Review 23:It is stylish but not comfortable - rooms (cells) are small and there is not much space, especially if you carry more than just basic baggage. This is perhaps also intended - a prison is not supposed to be a comfortable place!

Review 24:The whole idea - a hotel as a prison - was wonderful! The style was exciting, with strong fences in windows and historic prison pictures in the corridors. A great way to revive the history of the building and bring it to modern use! Also, the hotel is just across a train station / bus terminal, making it very easy to reach.

Review 25:Rooms are very very small, it was not even possible to open the window. But if you are aware that it has been a prison since a few years ago, then you might even consider them confortable.

Review 26:The hotel is nice, very good idea to convert a former prison into a resort. Very various and big breakfast. Parking lots gratis and close to the structure. Good position, just 5 minutes walking from the harbour where you can find all the restaurants and shops.

Review 27:No soap/shampoo in shower. Very limited breakfast.

Review 28:Plenty of room for 4 in family room. Nice with own door to patio, where the goats were the closest neighbours. Top bunk with railing, felt safe to have the kids up there.

Review 29:The lack of hooks for towels next to the sink in the toilet area.

Review 30:Nice and clean. Extraordinary experience to stay at a prison. Nice with the historical "exhibition" in the prison. The children were very happy to see and feed the sheeps.

Review 31:Radiator at head of bed. No wall close or support behind head of bed. No desk. Not worth the cost.

Review 32:Intresting place to see and stay...once. Friendly helpful staff Parking close by.

Review 33:Room not very soundproof

Review 34:Location, price, wifi, pub with entertainment

Review 35:Small room, but this was clear on booking

Review 36:Clean and comfortable; interesting decor and theme due to building history

Review 37:Excellent breakfast

Review 38:the room and bed is too small

Review 39:Like the story for prison
